We used Dyson vacuum cleaners for over 10 years. Every now and then they break down, need repairing and can be a bit temperamental, but Dyson customer service is second to none and the cleaner always comes back either fixed or they give you a brand new product. I have tested 12 over vacuum cleaners for the Vine programme over the last few years. Some have been excellent, Miele, G Tech, Shark and a Philips come to mind, some have been dreadful, mainly the VAX products., which I find inferior in every way to a Dyson, but priced at an average of a £100 lower than the comparable Dyson. If I was buying another vacuum cleaner, then I would probably put my money into a Miele or a Dyson because of the customer service and quality of build. When this cleaner was offered to me via the Vine programme, I jumped at the chance to try a Hoover, as this was the brand we grew up with and it would be interesting to see if they could compete with the aforementioned models. My first impression on receiving the cleaner was that it looked very plasticky. It comes with a 2-year guarantee, Dyson has a 5 year and VAX is a 6-year guarantee. Just to put it into context, VAX may have a 6 year guarantee, but when a part went after only 4 weeks of use, they could not care less and refused to do anything. You can put a long guarantee on anything, but if you refuse to do anything, what's the value of such a guarantee? I must say, having only a 2 year guarantee would put me off buying this, with my own money. When it came to using and testing this cleaner, it becomes obvious that there have been some corners cut in terms of manufacturing/design quality. Firstly, as another reviewer found, the attachments push on but do not click in place with metal clips. The Miele attachments click in place, a small but functional difference. The quality of the attachments is cheaply made compared to Dyson but on a par with VAX. Overall it is obvious there has been some cost cutting compared with the Dyson products we already own. Before I go on, we must put it in context, the similar Dyson retails at around £229.99 and this can be had for as little as £85.99 on the net, a major difference in price. There is no way it could be of the same quality as a Dyson or Miele. There are bound to be differences between the two.So how does this vacuum actually clean? It uses a type of "Multi-cyclonic technology". The suction is OK, but when you have attached the long pipes, the suction does suffer. Its quiet, which is a big plus. Its quite heavy at almost 5Kg. The cord measures 7 meters and when added to the long pipe attachments, can hoover a set of stairs easily without moving the base unit. It cleaned virtually everything we used it for, without too much effort. It has 5 settings so it can adjust to most flooring. We did struggle a bit on long carpets, as the suction did suffer. So overall, this is a cheaply made upright hoover, which does not try and compete with the better-made vacums. It is priced at a VAX level. The suction is not great, especially when using the long pipes, but for the price its OK. For me, it is far better than any VAX product I have tested. This is an important point, as its priced to compete with the VAX and not the Dyson. It is about £140 cheaper than the Dyson equivalent, so I can understand why the tools look a bit cheap. I would approach this item with a bit of caution, as I do not know how good this product will be in the long term, as it is so cheaply made.At the review price of £85.99, I am happy to cautiously recommend this product.

We were recently offered five Hoovers via the Amazon Vine programme! It was kind of timely, as our old-fashioned but powerful paper-bag Hoover had died on us. We have a groovy robot vacuum cleaner, but it's got a small capacity, and isn't super-powerful (great for low level maintenance cleaning), so we decided to take three of the models we'd been offered. One for our main replacement vacuum-cleaner, one for a backup (many modern electric appliances are terribly short lived!), and the third to give us options in deciding on which was best for those two roles, after which we could give it away to someone in need of a vacuum-cleaner.We went with the 750W Whirlwinf model for our main usage replacement, and it's been doing us pretty proud, so far. I did have reservations about all of these, as Imdont like the rigmarole of removing and cleaning the filters (after a purchase of one such vacuum-cleaner some years ago, I swore 'never again!'). But we needed a machine, and these came along very timely indeed. It's taken a while to getting round to trying one of the other two we were sent. We thought this one should be the next one, as it claims to be pet-savvy, so to speak. We have a very furry long haired moggy, so we're always battling against his moulting hair copiously all over the place. I have to say that the 750W Whirlwind handle Tiggy-hair pretty well. This 350W 'Breeze' machine is noticeably less ballsy. So it's still not clear which of the two other vacuums, both rated at 350W, we'll settle on.One major plus point all three models share is the ease of removing and emptying the main waste-cartridge, which is a doddle. Strangely, and somewhat annoyingly, the Whirlwind doesn't have a height adjustment, or height adjustable brush. The Breeze, however, does have the latter. It also, has a long pipe, allowing one to clean a stairway without hoiking the machine uo the steps as you go.These Hoovers all share one minor and one more major annoyance: the minor annoyance is that where the power lead comes out makes it very easy to tread on it, as you move around vacuuming, which, if it happens repeatedly (and it does with me), might cause a wiring connectivity issue at some point. The more major annoyance, for me at any rate, is the whole filter system, which requires regular disassembly and cleaning.I prefer the more powerful Whirlwind, and think it's better equipped to handle cat hair than this allegedly pet-friendly model, but as these sorts of vacuum-cleaners go, this is, I'd say, alright. As to VFM, again, ok.

There is no such thing as the perfect 'Hoover' or Vacuum cleaner simply because everyone has different needs. What counts is the power and the ability to get the dirt and mess up first time to save your time. Then again 100s will disagree. This is a good vaccuum cleaner so I will try to cover all the benefits to help you make up your mind. The most obvious advantage of this Hoover is that it is good for stairs. It has a long reach and allows you to clean stair easier with less effort. All the tools are on board and the hopse easily covers a 13 step flight. Now you should know the machine is not light. We have a dog leg stairs at home and you have to carry the machine around. If you're weak or gettingon a bit I would look elsewhere. The price is good for a machine of this power and the vac adapats to most surfaces well so good for carpets and smooth floors easily adjustable to save you that time and effort again. Mind you most makes say that but it's true for this model.A simple dial at the front allows you to quickly raise or lower to the optimum height. What I like is that all the tools are on board and you can use and adapt as you go around so the dusting brush is good for... well dusting and the crevive great for arm chairs and al those nooks and crannies that a narrow nozzel makes it easier to attack. In saying that the device has a hidden 'turbo brush; that allows you to adapt and adopt to the situation. The device is easily stored on the machine and accesable for when you need it.So there you have it a good price for a strong robust 'Hoover' Great for stairs.all the tools on board and to hand.A little bit heavy but hey it will last and take some knocks.I like the fact that you don't need dust bags. But this does mean you need to empty it more often- no bad thing and ensure the filters are clean.A decent machine and at a decent price.

Such a light unit I had to see how my lesser able mother-in-law thought of it... Her review contains many many uses of the word easy, as such lets see what she had to say...."Buy as a second hoover, certainly".... Now I don't know who's got the money for a second hoover, but we're talking to a woman with three others. From my trying it and using it on both hard and carpeted floors it was a worthy hoover, but in the new EU restricted world we hoover in, this isn't a bad power level to start at."The cord is long, but you can get tangled in it"... yeah the words of a woman spoilt by already owning a cordless, but this was a pretty long cord for a hoover,we'd have had some abysmally short. The lower power though leaves us with "nice quite and very easy to push" but you still got a thorough clean action."Easy to exchange tools" was her next comment, from a woman with really bad arthritis in her fingers along with gout this was nice to see she zoomed about with it.The suction however is a variable action, you can alter the pull, for delicate things like lace curtains."Reasonable value for money" is her last comment, judging this on a free for review product is hard, but overall we did like the hoover, we liked the action, the emptying was easy, the tools good. The plastic finish was not excellent quality, but it wasn't bad. The worst part, which I'm going to drop the one star for is the hose and plastic, as we moved about they charged themselves with static, leaving us (with the dog) to need another hoover to hoover the hoover when we were done hoovering.

The subject heading says it all really, so if you like brevity, there you go. The more extended version goes something like this: this is an inexpensive bagless cleaner that actually represents decent value for money. It is not built like a battleship, the plastics are of decent inexpensive quality but no more, the styling is not exactly subtle, the motor isn't the most powerful, it doesn't have a million unnecessary features, and the power-lead is a little shorter than ideal while being slightly too large to conveniently wrap up.So not recommended? Quite the reverse actually, because the above (other than the power lead) are not really criticisms; this is a bagless vacuum cleaner that is very keenly priced,well-made for the money, has all the features that you actually need, and works well. The hose has impressive extension & certainly allows easy cleaning of a typical or slightly larger staircase, the height is easily adjusted, the dust compartment just as easily emptied, and while not particularly light, it is easy to trundle around the house, only struggling with the same tight spaces any similarly sized vacuum would have problems with, whatever the price. Suction seems good, as does filtering and it all goes together in about a minute, and stays that way too. The supplied tools aren't bad either, coming in handy for cleaning furniture and the car. For this money, a very good job and an easy recommendation.

I'm pleasantly surprised by this vacuum - I was expecting the worst having read some of the bad reviews. Yes, this is cheaply made and doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the Sebo, Dyson, and Shark vacuums I've used (both past and present), but this is reflected in the price. The most important thing for me is performance and overall weight.Performance of this is good, better than I had expected in fact. Suction is more than adequate, and the adjustable height allows this to be used on all surfaces. I can't quite believe how quiet this is too. This version comes with a separate brush head (pet brush) which makes it easy to clean furnishings of dust and pet hair. It also has a small brush tool, extension tube, and crevis tool which all work well (and can be stored on the vacuum). Despite the larger capacity, this vacuum is reasonably lightweight - it's easy enough to carry up the stairs and manoeuvre. My old Sebo which was built like a tank, but a pain to move around as it was so heavy.Overall, If you're looking for a cheap, high capacity vacuum which performs well then I don't see any reason not to recommend this.

As I wanted a second vacuum cleaner as a back-up, just in case our Shark breaks down, I didn’t want anything too over the top so this seemed to fit the bill. It is very much a budget vacuum. It’s cheaply made and looks it. But ultimately I don’t suppose looks are that important, it’s more about how good it is as a vacuum. The main things to note are that it’s quite heavy, fairly quiet and performs reasonably well. Having said that I’m comparing it to a far more expensive Shark vacuum which is extremely light and very quiet. Our floors are either laminate or short-pile carpets. We also have a cat but he never seems to shed his fur that much so perhaps I’m not giving a particularly challenging test.It certainly left a clean floor behind wherever I used it but I could imagine on long-pile carpet it might struggle. One thing I did notice is that if you use the extension and pull it out fully then it does lose a lot of suction. I would only really use that on the stairs so it wouldn’t be too much of a problem for me.Obviously you can buy much better vacuums than this but for the price I think it is good value.

Contrary,to other reviewers-I really liked this hoover. It has a long hose and a long power lead, this enables me to hoover my steps, without having to switch it off and the plug the power lead in a second power socket,in order to complete the task. The hoover is lightweight, easily manoeuvrable,it has 5 dials that enable you to raise or lower the hoover.I have it on dial 1 this gives you the maximum suction available on carpets. On the other number settings I find the suction isn’t sufficient to clean my carpets to level that I expect.Though for tiles and Lino I raise the hoover to a higher setting. The hoover isn’t excessively noisy, just 80decibels of noise and hoover is an A rated hoover-so it isenergy efficient.Emptying the bin is easily done as is altering the hoover to utilise the long hose for stairs and ceilings.Full tools provided as well.On the downside the bin doesn’t have a large capacity and the dark non-transparent colour of the bin, makes it difficult to actually see when it is full up.This is my only gripe about the hoover and that is not enough to deduct a star.

I have a home with a mixture of laminated hardwood, stone tiles and lino, with 4 children, 2 cats and 2 dogs running the show. Cleaning is a daily occurrence, as dirt, dust and pet hairs travel everywhere - so needless to say, I was excited about trying this vacuum as the cordless feature of it and detachable hand-held vacuum promises to help me get into every corner and cranny while cleaning. But would it turn out to be empty hype, or something that actually would make cleaning as easy as the less flexible versions?I have a mixture of flooring to test this on and so far it's full marks all round. Normally I have to go over the same patch several times, but this has picked up all of the hair and other daily grime on the first sweep. Impressive. I live in average bungalow so can't test the extension on stairs, but it is very handy for going over and under the settees. I also must say that this is the light and easy to use, so far I haven't suffered any of my usual backaches after use.

Really pleased with this Hoover. I'm normally pretty bad at putting things together but this was very easy.I chose this particular cleaner because of the pet attachment. This works really well and is easy to add on. I found that many underlying hairs were collected using this device. And I mean hairs that have been ingrained for a few years. The hoover is snazzy looking and colourful which helps as I find hoovering really boring, it is also very light to use and the varied heights allows you to clean hard floors as well as high raised carpets.I would say that this hoover is very simple, effective and no fuss. If you want a lightweight Hoover to get the job done, this is a good choice.Incidentally,I also compared this to the Hoover Breeze Evo TH31BO01. This is the non pet version. The only difference seems to be the extra attachment, though the dB readings are also one more? The price difference is 45p. So getting this version seems a bit of a no brainer.

I am really impressed with this modern designed model from hoover! it did a great job on all my carpets!!I am a bit confused by other reviews some saying its too light - some saying its too heavy!I think the reason behind this is that new E.U. rules on the power used by vacuum cleaners have meant the makes have had to re-design everything and the daily use is different.the new vacuums are a lot lighter and when you hoover you cant whizz around anymore especially on deep piled carpets like you use to - you have to push it forward and draw it back a lot slower or it will judder across the carpet! ( it is annoying at first but once you get the hang of it its just as quick as older models! (it took me a while)This did a great job on wood floors, and rugs and carpets right through the house - and has a good lenght cable, handy tools and a good capicity bin that doesnt need to empied too often!

First of all this Is the “Pets” model TH31BO02 and there’s an extra £10 on the RRP because of the mini pets turbo brush attachment. If you don’t need this then you’ll probably save a bit of money by going for the TH31BO01 model instead which is identical except for this pets attachment. This is quite a nice vacuum to use - easy enough to setup from the box, fairy lightweight to move around, quite quiet and reasonable suction. Although when you use the long hose and attachments I found the suction a bit disappointing then. Talking of the hose I found it would pop out of its holder quite a bit when not in use and I was using it as an upright. That’s one of my concerns is that it’s all a bit plasticy and cheap.Overall I’m reasonably happy with no particular issues but I’m sure that are better made vacuums out there in this price range.

This hoover has a variable floor dial which I found I needed to keep on medium for all my carpets and turn to short for the tiles and wooden flooring. It also has an extra long hose for the stairs, this presumably is ok on a straight staircase but we have a turn halfway up ours and therefore the hose didn't reach up to the top stair, I had to carry it upstairs to clean the top 3 steps. It performed well, gliding over the carpets and picking up quite a bit of dust, considering they had been hoovered the day before with my old vacuum cleaner, the pet hair attachment picked up the loose dog hairs and was great for using on the stairs as well as in the car and it was easy enough to empty the bin.Thishoover is only slightly lighter than my old vacuum cleaner and I think an elderly person may struggle using it.

Absolutely love this hoover!!! I have a cylinder dyson already but after recently getting 2 cats and having 2 indoor rabbits I found the dyson did not pick up animal fur or hair (I have really long hair) I ended up with line of fur and hair on my carpet and at one point was on my hands and knees scraping the fur and hair into a ball which was not an easy task! I ordered this hoover on weds and received it on Friday and straight away tried it out. I couldn’t believe what I emptied from it despite hoovering with my dyson on Thursday. One photo shows what came from my downstairs carpets, the other photo shows what came off my upstairs carpets! I was shocked at how much my dyson had left behind.Highly recommend this product (especially if you have pets)

Hoover Breeze Evo TH31BO01 Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner, Black & Turquoise is one very good hoover for the price. I was quite surprised how good it was and I am happy to say it works well and very easy to operate.I was disappointed in the instructions as they were basic and I found them rather misleading but I was soon sorting it out with pure guesswork and a bit of help from a friend or two!!The hoover is easy to operate, it works well and due to the fact it can be adjusted to suit different floor surfaces makes it a hoover which will make short work of my housework in super quick time.I like the fact it does not take a lot of force from me to operate it which suits me perfectly.A greathoover which I am happy to recommend.
