I had a dram of this Speyside malt from my son- in- law and warmed to its initial sweetness and smoothness on the palate so I now have my own bottle! The Distillery is not so well known but it's located very close to the town of Aberlour, it's more familiar neighbour. Having read a review where the reviewer detected a certain "bitterness" in the finish, I have to say that I the dram I had taken showed no sign of this...and therein lies the intrigue of Scotch Malt Whisky I think. At 48% it can take a little water, non chill filtered and reasonably priced it's certainly one to consider for a change if you're up for it.

What a great Whisky. Strong and complex flavours; brimming with spice and honey. Benefits from a good splash of water. Initially, such smooth flavours on the palate, it is scarey to swallow in case the follow through and after taste are a disappointment. But don't fear, there are no disappointments until long after your glass is empty. Fantastic value. If I win the lottery, I'll buy the distillery!

At first I was a bit thrown off by this dram and was not sure what to make of it, but that only lasted a few minutes. I quickly came to realise I was drinking something far more complex and higher quality than I was used to. Of the Highland 12 yo malts, this has to be one of the best. Add a bit of water and allow it to open up, you will not be disappointed.

AS always a superb whisky. I have consumed a few bottles of this fine whisky over two to three year period and find the consistency second to none. I am not a great lover of smoky peaty whiskies so this suits my palate fine. Not to everyone's taste but then we all have our preferences but I have not offered to anyone who does not enjoy savouring it.

Superb. This might not be a stand out from the crowd bottle but it is a fantastic whisky. Hits a sweet spot between the sweetness from the Bourbon cask, the richness of sherry cask and warming spiceness.Loved every dram. A must try for whisky folk.

This is a cracking whisky. Far superior to most of the rubbish distilleries are passing off with fancy names,bottles and no age statement. Smooth, mellow no overt smokiness. A classy scotch.

This is a nice sipping whisky there are better expressions too numerous to mention however this for the price punches well above its weight

A very good dram! Bottled at a higher strength and full of flavour. I just tried with Parmesan and it went down like a treat.

Bought as a gift and was very much appreciated. Personally iv never tasted it but was assured it was lovely, a great whiskey
