Given the nature of the product itself, a proper review can only be given with a lengthy amount of time spent with the cable. Which is why I will begin this review with my first impressions and update it after 3 months, 6 months then 1 year, and perhaps after 2 years. My first impression of the cable is overall quite positive.AESTHETICS/LOOKThe sheath of the cable feels much thicker and more robust in comparison to the iphone cable. I genuinely feel this will last me the 2 years I have with my new iphone 6s I am getting. The end connectors seem very firm to me and well put together.FUNCTIONALITYOne of my favorite parts of this cable is the great strain reliefs on the cable in comparison to apples flimsy one.The strain relief looks and feels great! Although I myself think it perhaps should have a little more flexibility. But then again I am no expert like those at anker, I am just speaking from experiences with many iphone cables. Another really nice touch that anker had was the band to wrap the iphone cable in to tie it together so it could be better packaged/or put away.CONCLUSIONI'm really looking forward to using this cable for a very long time, it seems much sturdier and better built than apples cable no doubt about it. I will be updating this in the future to give you an idea of it holds up. Because after all the durability of a cable is probably one of the most important things you want out of it. I will end with saying that Anker gave me this cable to test as a part of the power user program, to help give them feedback. Anything I say is my complete and honest opinion, and is intended to help you make a purchase decision as well as assist anker with product feedback. So do I recommend this cable? Yeah probably, even though I haven't had that much time to test it. Anker already has a very good reputation for making excellent phone accessory products. And they have been tested before by the Wirecutter, who had aid from an electrical engineer who worked for NASA to analyze and determine the best cables, and Anker was chosen as the best. This being their newest iteration of cables it seems that they have improved on the one before with many new features mentioned in their photos. If you are looking for a good long lasting cable I would probably go with the Anker PowerLine Lightning cable. Stay tuned for updates.

I'd previously reviewed an Anker Powerline Micro USB cable, so I jumped at the chance to try out one of the Lightning cables. I love my Apple devices; they're the first thing I pick up when I wake in the morning and the last thing I put down at night when I sleep. I appreciate that this might not be normal behaviour, but you'll see that charging cables are a big deal for me.I used to be convinced that Apple cables were the best for Apple products, but lightning cables have changed all that. You may already know that Apple cables have suddenly started to fall apart. I don't know why; but the genuine cables that I get with the products last for a few months and then the cable puckers, right around the end where it joins the connector. And then it stops working, and then Apple want £££ for a new one.Anker reinforce their Powerline cables with Kevlar, so they should be able to take a lot of abuse. This cable is a tiny bit thicker than a regular lightning cable, but it's still thin and light. It comes with a branded Anker Velcro cable tie to encourage you to keep it coiled neatly when not in use. These are MFI certified, which matters. You might not think so, but if you get a non-MFI cable, even if it works when you get it, it might well stop working when your operating system updates. Which is a complete pain. The MFI certification guarantees it will work to sync and charge. This cable comes in two different lengths; I have the 3ft one but make sure you're getting the right one. 3ft is a normal, shortish, charging cable. 1ft is great if you need to carry your cable around with you or if you know you'll always be right by a socket.I haven't had this cable for long enough to comment on its long-term durability, but I'm comforted by the fact that it's backed with Anker's 18 month warranty and great customer service and support.I was sent my lightning cable for for test and evaluation by the lovely people at Anker. I promise this review is my fair and honest evaluation.

As I've had a tendency to break my charging cables in the past I spent a while trying to find more durable versions. Anker were always mentioned as having high quality, and more importantly for me, strong cables, and after trying a couple of their charging cables I can safely say I'll be sticking with them for the future. This is my second Anker charging cable (I previously had one for an Android phone). The design and form of that one and this iPhone cable are near identical. It's a sturdy, relatively thick cable with a velcro strip that allows you to fold and hold the it together. It came in a small Anker box that was simple to open and had no excess or pointless packaging. My official Apple cable was much thinner and flimsier than the Anker, and didn't take long to snap at the connector end. I haven't had this specific cable for long but the Anker Android one I've had for a couple of years now shows no sign of any wear or damage. As they're very similar in design and construction I see no reason why the iPhone one shouldn't last just as long. It feels strong and is much thicker both to look at and touch. There's a definite sense of it being a far more dependable item than the Apple version and that it will take an awful lot of wear to break or damage it.Overall it's just what I was looking for - a well made and durable cable that will withstand a bit of rough treatment that I tend to subject them to. Very happy!

If your looking for a good replacement lighting cable or have an extra one that you can use in the car than give this lighting cable a try because you won't be disappointed.I use both Apple and Android products and always have at least one or two cables extra to use in the car or when I am out and about. The problem is that when you buying a cable its really easy to get mixed up and buy cheap one's online but you are not guaranteed on the quality of the cable. Anker Team has been around for a couple of years now and all their products scream of quality which means this cable is another great product by Anker. So what do you get with this cable than? This lighting cable is Apple MFI Certified which means its guaranteed to charge and sync 100% any Apple device and in my testing it worked really well with my Iphone 6 Plus and Ipad Air 2.Their cables are also thicker than the one's that come with your Apple device, look good and charge fast which is also important. The Anker products come with peace of mind as well because they have 18 months warranty which not many company's offer this days.Well all this benefits will just cost you only £7.99 which in my opinion is a must now that some of phones and tablets cost £600+.This cable was kindly sent to me by the lovely team at Anker and I promise that my review is fair, honest and unbiased.

I have had numerous different types of Lightning cable over the years and have had the same problem with everyone. The ends tend to come away from the cable sheathing. Some quicker than others (Apple ones are the quickest). After being an Anker user for a while I decided to give one of their cables ago and I am very happy with it. Although I am not as far into owning this cable as others you can tell that this cable is of much higher quality. The cable sheathing is thicker than the Official Apple cable which will make it last longer with the amount of bending it will do over time. The cable is professionally finished and there are no sharp edges unlike other companies who leave the bits on afterinjection moulding.I have used this for connecting an iPad and an iPod in an Anker & Belkin car charger it works perfectly.I have used this to connect the same devices to numerous USB wall chargers and computers and have not had any problems. Computers recognised straight away.I also like the fact that the cable comes with a bit of Velcro to keep it together when not in use. A nice little feature is the option to attach it more permanently. I can’t stand messy cables so I guess this helps with my OCD a little.

Having received a new (and my first) iPhone 6s plus on friday I knew I'd needed some more cables. I'd previously been delighted by their microUSB cables since they were the only ones that reliably charged my Samsung S4 at the full 2A.For lightning would I try an official apple cable, an unknown/ebay cable, or go for a brand I trusted. Easy. The anker powerline. It appears to charge QUICKLY off my Anker 5x2A desktop charger, my Samsung 2A charger, and worked perfectly in my car (BMW, with connected drive/app integration). The same could not be said for a cheap cable a friend gave me!. The anker powerline isn't flimsy, instead it comes across as a quality product -- and no concerns about the connectors either which also seem very sturdy.Comparing it with the apple cable (which of course also works perfectly on day 1) the powerline cable feels better quality & yet half the price of the apple cable, so it seems to be a no brainer.. Now my only question is how many to order (car, bedroom, living room?)... and which exact type as they do a few other variations too!

This item was kindly sent to my directly from Anker for the purpose of review. I have been using this cable for at least a week or more and it is extremely tough in comparison to the original apple lightning to usb cables and even more so than the regular anker cables ( that is not to say that the regular anker cables are bad as that is not the case ).A few things that I think can be improved on this cable are :1) Make the lightning connector compact like the regular anker lightning to usb cables as I could not fit this one through the hole in my otterbox case ( Armour Series )2) A few more nylon sticky straps as would be good to be able to tie all the usb cables together that come out of theanker batteries especially considering that anker batteries have multiple usb ports. The Packaging was simple and good and wasn't over doneDoes what it says on the tin and would highly recommendI have quite a lot of Anker products and they have all been so far extremely reliable and there support has been 2nd to none !!Thanks Anker !!

My longest lasting iPhone cable so far. I've lost count of how many iPhone cables I've been through. Even some from reputable brands haven't lasted longer than a few months. This one feels pretty well made for the price, and is good value for this price range for those not going full-on kevlar cable. I've got other Anker products such as their powerbanks and they've always been reliable so their general product standards appear to be good. Of course, should any of this change and should their customer service fail me then I'll come back and change this review. But there doesn't appear to be any need for that so far, which is good.EDIT: Spoke too soon. My cable developed a little tear near the connector. However, excellent customer service from Anker! More than happy to honour their warranty, I contacted them and showed them the damage. They could see my purchase via Amazon and immediately sent me out a replacement. I tip my hat. Brilliant company and I'll happily continue buying their products.

This cable is another rock solid performer from the one and only Anker, it's tough built and top notch manufactured. It comes with a velcro strap which is very handy to avoid having it getting tangled when you carry it with you or just when you put it away, this is actually the first time that I see a manufacturer providing such a useful accessory with a cable. Those who know Anker know that all of their products are built with the highest quality standards, this cable is a brilliant demonstration of their mastering in providing everlasting reliable accessories for our mobile devices. This item has been provided to me as a reviewing sample in exchange of an honest feedback,I own other Anker products I purchased and I'm fully satisfied with each of them, as an IT pro I'm a demanding user when it comes to performance and quality, Anker is delivering a merchandise that satisfies even the most hard to satisfy kind of users, and not only this their products can survive even the most clumsy of us :)

This cable is really really good, as I’ve stated in other reviews to do with cables, I get slightly cautious with different branded lighting cables as in the past, they go fault straight away, But this cable however is brilliant, its strong and sturdy and hasn’t let me down yet, but I can tell that this cable wont let me down at all. The actual USB and lighting cable ends are very strong as well, which is great, as it would take a lot of wear and tear to make the cable faulty. The cable length is good as well; in some circumstances the cable has been too short so it’s not even worth using it. Although it’s not an official apple cable,Anker do a very good job to create a lighting cable that is or could be as good as the original apple copy.Overall if you want a very good lighting cable and one, which will not break, I would highly suggest this cable for all the above reasons, 10/10 for the service provided and the product given, Thank You Very Much!

I was sent this cable foc to use and review and these are my honest unbiased findings. This really is an excellent quality lead. Even the packaging instils confidence. The Apple certified plugs are easier to plug/unplug due to their slightly longer design and the type of material used. It's the same story with the cable. It has a heavy duty feel and in my opinion it's better than the original Apple lead. The way the plugs are moulded to the lead mean you'd have to give it some serious abuse to damage them, but used normally I feel it will easily outlive an original Apple lead. Only one tiny gripe I have is I found it a little on the short side for me personally, but if Anker decide to manufacture a 6'version I'll definitely purchase one. The sooner the better now as my partner was so impressed with it she's decided it's hers!Overall it's the only choice if you need a replacement cable and don't want to pay Apple prices!

This is a charging cable. I'm afraid I haven't timed how long it takes to charge my phone as against charging it using another cable as all my cables have disappeared. However, what I can say is that it does charge my i-phone 5S very satisfactorily. It's a good length, reaches nicely from my plug socket to what ever empty bit of space I have on my desk to charge my phone. I can't speak for you, you may need a longer one, which Anker do. It has a nice strong moulded bit round the lightning end, and the same round the USB end, so nice and strong. For me, the best thing about it is, that because it is red the teenager doesn't see it as an i-phone cable,so I might be able to keep it longer than the black one and the white one I have had from Anker. Incidentally, I do thoroughly recommend Anker, have been using their cables, chargers etc for a while and they are strong, well made and have fantastic customer service.

I was sent this product by Anker in return for a honest and fair review. The Powerline lightning cable is a charging and syncing cable designed specifically for the iPhone 5 and above (5, 5s, 6, 6s), iPad min and above (1, 2, 3, 4), iPad 4 and above (4, air, air 2), iPod 5 and above (5, 6).It is the most reasonable price "MFi Certified" (endorsed by apple) cable. This means you don't get the "the accessory is not supported" warning. The cable is much more flexible than the original apple cable - with a tougher structure and more bend resistance. It also comes with a black loop so it can be easily wrapped up. This cable has survived for almost 2 months of heavy use and still looks as new. This makes it better than the new amazon basics lightning cable and apple's own cable.I think this cable is a steal at £5.99 and would recommend to anyone that has broken the original apple cable.

EDIT: 11th Jan 2017After writing this review Anker proactively got in touch with me and noted that the product was still under warranty. After filling out a couple of details a new cable was with me in a couple of days and works perfectly. As a result, I have upgraded the review to 5 stars; Sometimes things go wrong/ fault happen when a company puts it right then the I would 100% recommend buying from them again.OriginalPurchased in Jan 2017 (so 1 year on) and it has been used daily by my daughter for the last 7 months and unfortunately it failed. Really nice premium feel but this is the 3rd Anker cable that I have had that's really been a little bit worse in terms of durability than the apple original.I want to love these so much as my other Anker products have been rock solid but the cables don't seem to live up tot he "ultra durable" branding.

I was sent one of these cables to review, and I promised that my comments would be my honest opinion. A while ago I bought a USB charger (not Anker) to take abroad, which came with its own Lightning cable. This seemed a reasonable quality cable until I received the Anker one. The difference in weight, construction and finish is remarkable. The Anker one has a sturdiness and strength that makes the other look puny by comparison. The cable itself is much thicker and the PVC collars around the connectors are well designed, giving good support to the ends when connecting to devices. I cannot imagine them ever breaking. The overall quality of build and materials means that charging is fast. There is the added bonus that these cables are Apple MFi Certified, containing a unique authorization chip which ensures 100% compatibility with any Lighning device.
