As I refuse to use the earphones that come with the iPhone (because they’re not very good sound quality), I always use my own, so thankfully when I got the 7, Apple included a little adaptor. This broke after around a year (it was used daily), and I tried the cheaper Non Brand versions but they either didn’t work or gave dodgy sound quality so thought I’d spend that extra money to buy this ‘Apple’ one..Is it genuine Apple? I’d say so. It came in the same box and packaging that my original one came in. I’ve had no issues that I encountered with the Unbranded ones, and it works perfectly. There’s been no issues, and it gets used 6-7 days a week so it’s definitely been thoroughly tested. Will I be buying another?Yes. As long as Apple included-earphones are terrible, and non-Apple non-headphone-jack earphones aren’t really a thing (at least, not the good ones worth the money), then yeah. I will continue buying this adapter.Definitely recommend. But make sure you buy it direct from Amazon to ensure it’s genuine (I’ve several reviews stating fake Apple were received).

I was sceptical reading some of the reviews but for the cost, I am glad I ordered and took the change. The product is neatly packaged and sealed - looks/feels genuine.Connects securely to the lightning port on my iPhone XR and my headphones 3.5mm. Recognised headphones including volume controls (for reference they are just basic in-ear Skullcandy headphones) and sound quality is good.I have not used a microphone through connection to verify if that works or not.The connection for this does stick out (as expected for the lightning port) so I will be conscious of just putting in my jacket pocket to ensure it doesn't get knocked and damage the iPhone port.I bought knowing this.I consider this a good purchase I can reuse my existing headphones until I have to replace - so what I wanted and at a good price

I’m sick off buying these adapters to be honest, I’ve been through 3 off them in 2 months! All I do is use it daily for my headphones off choice I’ve never mistreated the adapters they are generally just made to not last! All I do is put my phone in my pocket and the adapter just hangs there with a slight bend... I don’t even really understand how they break because when buying a replacement the bloody thing is packaged with a BEND! Apple really need to fix these stupid things. But then again I doubt they will because they know exactly what they are doing making them to break easily so people either go out and buy a replacement adapter or go wireless with there headphones. Why even take the headphone jack away from the IPhones in the first place there is still so many people who use it. ?

As far as I can tell, this is a genuine Apple product. It has all the tell-tale Apple features:- It is too expensive for what it is.- It doesn't work as well as they say it should- They spent more time on the looks than the function.- It is as robust as a stick of spaghetti. All joking aside, it works, most of the time. It doesn't have the same contact lay out as my iphones, ie some of my older headphones don't work with it. They sound like they are at the end of a long tunnel. This is because the older iPhones can take OMTP and CTIA standards for 3.5mm plugs. I needed to buy a converter. The plug still wobbles a bit and I need to pull out/push in the adapter if the sound goes all crackly. To be hones the fidelity of iPhones is such that I don't notice it much, hence 4 stars..

All I wanted was to see and hear what was on my iPad onto my smart television. I thought it would be easy, but of course Apple want you to buy their expensive product to make it happen. I tried a number of cheaper options (copy cables and Chromecast), but they either didn’t work, or the delay was ridiculous. So £44 later, with this cable, finally I can mimic what’s on my iPad on my television. I have had to buy an HDMI cable too, and there is still a small delay, which I am disappointed with, but I can watch YouTube videos or do Zoom meetings now, which was the aim.I really think that £44 for this cable is a rip off, but was left with little choice, and there is still a slight delay,so I’m not completely happy with my purchase, but it was a last resort.

I got a genuine apple 3.5mm adapter, only paid £3 (had a £5 voucher). otherwise all perfect but way too overly priced, but then again it is an apple product and will work continuously until damaged. If your going to pay £8 for this then i highly recommend just to go the apple store and pick one up for £9 retail price with confidence that is genuine and will work 100%.I wouldn't bother buying the cheaper ones from eBay, as they only last a few months and then either connection issues, bent wire, microphone or one earphone sound dies or MIFI compatibility issues, not worth the hassle.

This is permanently connected to my phone as I'm a big fan of music. Unfortunately after a few weeks of use, the phone no longer detected the adapter. As it was a day past the Amazon return date, I took it to my local Apple store and they couldn't be more helpful. They quickly tested it, swapped it for a new one and it's happily working with no problems at all. For the price it's excellent. I have bought more expensive 3rd party adapters which spectacularly failed within a few weeks (they literally fell apart) so in future I would recommend sticking to Apple products for adapters.

I read so many reviews saying how this is not a genuine product/ that didnt work, and was therefore afraid to order this. However, I clicked on the website of the product and it was indeed apple, so I gave it a shot especially as it is one of the cheapest options available with the current discount.I havent had this for long, so cannot speak for durability, but what I received seems to be genuine (legitimate box and instructions) and the cable seems to be genuine too - good quality. The sound is also brilliant, couldnt find any difference so overall would recommend 100%

I was a bit skeptical at first when buying this, as I had bought a headphone jack from another seller which lasted me around 2-3 weeks and the sound quality was poor. However, reading the reviews on this one, I thought it was a worth a buy. Let me tell you, I was not disappointed. It works perfectly with my phone (iPhone 7 plus) and has lasted me around a month now, with no issues. The sound quality is good, and it is great value for money. The packaging looks exactly like the one from the Apple store, therefore I believe it is the real one.

So to many this may seem like one of those Apple products that there making you waste your money on. But it’s far more then that. A standard 3.5 mm headphone jack can only output at 16, 20 or 24 bits per sample and at sample rates of 44.1kHz or 48kHz. But a lightning port can output at 24 bits per sample at 96 KHz sample rate. Now it’s no DAC and you should definitely invest in one of your care about such things. But with the right headphones and a Tidal Masters MQA file or a FLAC file it makes perfect sense. Especially for £8.00

This does the job of a traditional headphone which is good. The iPhone can’t use a traditional head phone - which is bad .Why do they have to be awkward at Apple ? Hummm . Why can’t Apple just keep things the way they are ? I’m not always looking to the past through rose tinted glass- I mean it’s easier to jog without your CD jumping- but honestly- just stop Apple ! There’s really no need . You have lots of money already . Why torment us ?You can’t change your phone and listen to you music either - what’s that about?

This is a great little cable which has enabled me to get a 3.5mm jack into my ipad Air 3. However, don't get caught out the way I did. The cable I was trying to connect to this was a TRS cable (2 bands) - and so this wasn't recognised as a microphone type device with ipad line input control. I needed to buy one of these (https://amzn.to/2Uodb0F) to get it working. If you're connecting to something like apple headphones this shouldn't be a problem, but I was connecting the output from a mixer using a non-apple cable.

Been unable to properly listen to music for a week due to the actual adapter that came with my phone breaking down on me. Had a couple of these from other sites but they either don’t work at all or I get ‘this accessory is not supported’ so before this purchase, there was a tad bit of trepidation involved. Not only did the product arrive ahead of schedule but it works absolutely perfectly. No message saying ‘unsupported accessory’ just good ol music coming through headphones.I would 100% recommend this product.

Honestly, seeing all the reviews made me a little hesitant to even consider buying this, but with an iphone 7 or higher we all know this is a must and its official from apple so why not take a gamble as this was a nessecity. The moment i plugged this into my phone and listened to the sound, i was hooked, the sound quality is so much better than even the original apple headphones, so clean and smooth with no breaks or static as claimed by others :) I’d buy it, nothing to lose as we can just get repaid. Go on!

Like others I was hesitant about authenticity, but this is an Apple product. It works perfectly with a new iPhone XS with no setting changes. I’ve yet to determine durability but there’s nothing to indicate it won’t stand up to normal usage. It’s a shame Apple no longer provide these adapters like they did initially with the iPhone 7, but I suppose it’s simply to encourage the use of wireless headphones. If you have wired headphones that aren’t yet ready for the scrap heap, it’s an essential buy.
