Anker PowerLine Lightning 1ft (White)This comes in a lightweight box just over 3" square by just over 0.5" thick. Inside is a coiled up lightning cable with a lovely looking velcro strap (0.5" wide) holding it together emblazoned with the anker logo and a spare velcro strap. The Anker strap has a very short bristle on one side and furry on the other which means that it will adhere to itself along the entire length, not just the end like some others, it isn't very grippy so that it's hard to unwrap, but firm enough that once you have it wrapped round the cable a couple of times that you know it isn't going to come undone, in fact,I've taken to coiling the cable through my keyring and using the velcro to hold it in place so that I can carry it around with my keys, usb keys, torch and other keyring gadgets, it doesn't add too much bulk to my massive collection of things on my key ring but if you only carry one or two keys you probably won't like it, you could always wrap it round a bag handle or strap if you want to keep it handy. Mine came wrapped incorrectly and was looped round both cables, but it's easy enough to unwrap the velcro and put the loop round one cable so that it stays attached to the cable is uncoiled and in use.The spare velro strap doesn't look as nice as the anker logo'ed one and is a bit too long for the single coil of the 1ft cable, but as it is a spare, it will make a useful strap for some of my other cables. The cable is a fraction of a millimeter thicker than the standard lightning cable, you can see the difference when you hold them next to each other but measuring it, the anker one is 3mm wide and the apple one is a teeny bit thinner (maybe 0.5mm thinner). The connecters on Anker cable have a moulded tapered end where it meets the cable as opposed to the squared off ends of the apple version which looks and feels like it will be more durable and weather bending close to the connectors much better than the apple cable (although by the design, you won't be able to bend it at a sharp 90 degrees to fit into places where you have a short clearance, I personally wouldn't do that as it would damage any cable quickly, but you might need to depending on where you are using it). The lightning connector end is a bit bigger than the standard apple one (10mm wide vs 8.5mm on the authentic apple one, I cannot see any difference in thickness), so you might need to take are with some cases where there is a hole cut for the lightning cable.Connectors on both ends fit their respective apple device and usb port well, not too tight, not too loose, fit feels almost exactly like authentic lightning cable.1ft is shorter than it sounds, in fact I had to measure the cable because I thought it was shorter than stated. A 1ft cable is a bit too short for everyday use at a desk or wall socket, but for use with a power pack or carrying with you without taking up too much bulk, it is perfect, enough to hold battery pack behind iPhone and hold both in one hand or put on a desk next to each other or have the iPhone plugged into your laptop. If you want it for everyday use at the office or in the car, I'd recommend a 3ft cable, if you use it at home next to the sofa, a 6ft cable is a much better proposition.I can't confirm the faster charging as I couldn't be bothered to sit there and wait, but the physics of it are undeniable, thicker, lower resistance cable will mean that you can get more power through the line. There is of course dependancy on your charger, if it's only putting out 500mA like your blackberry usb charger and the like, it's going to be a slower than if you use a 2A charger that came with your iPad. To be honest you'd probably get a better increase in charging performance if you used the highest rated charger that your iDevice can handle than if you changed to this cable, but its nice knowing that Anker have thought about charging performance and that you shouldn't be hampered by the cable as much as some of the thinner ones that use cheaper lower resistance cables.MFi certification means that the Anker cable will continue to work on your iDevice even when the new iOS updates are applied unlike some of the cheaper non MFi certified cables.End of the day, it's a well made short lightning cable that does the job and is backed by Ankers 18 month waranty and good customer service.Note that this cable is not compatible with Lifeproof iPhone 6/6 Plus cases if you have one.I was provided a sample to evaluate and review honestly by Anker. I certify that my review of this product is completely fair, honest and has not been influenced in any manner.

Ok so firstly, by way of disclosure, I was supplied a sample for test and evaluation, and I promised to write a review that is fair and honest.I am a self confessed Anker fan-boy, so you can choose to question the honesty of my review, although I sincerely hope you will not as my reviews are honest, and I attempt to describe what I see in a critical fashion, and often my feedback to Anker on less than perfect quality/function items has led to improvements in future revisions! My house is full of Apple devices, all lightning connector - iPhone 6 and 6plus, iPad Air 2 and iPad mini. Charging cables are in constant demand, we've bought quite a few to supplement the original cables. 2 or 3 years ago,I would buy Apples own, or try some chinese import belieiving that £2 or £3 for a cable was easy money. The non-genuine replacements are hit and miss. Even in a batch of 3 cables from one supplier I can get random performance one cable working, another not and a third only some of the time on some of the devices!!! Whereas the Apples own cables often show the signs of use and ageing with kinks and creases in cables leading to tears and bare wires. So I have been fortunate previously to test Ankers MFI lightning cables, and can fully recommend them as even though I had a freebie to test, i then went and bought two more they were that good!!So, this little (1 foot length) MFI certified cable comes as a welcome treat but also introduces a new improvement by way of the PowerLine technology. The Anker presentation is simple and attractive, fuss free. First sight shows the cable inside is clearly not wound as tight as either Apples own or many of the cheap copies - this can be put down to the clear difference in cable sleeve - it's not that the cable sleeve looks different, it's just feels different, stiffer, stronger. Clearly this isn't going to wind up in a little knot, but I take some reassurance that the cable is stronger than others. Also includes is a wraparound "velcro" style cable tidy - its probably of more use on one of their 3ft cables to be fair, but does no harm here. Also, the connector tips are much sturdier. These are housed in a more robust plastic housing, slightly bulkier than the Apple own, neatly branded. It does prompt a consideration as to whether the cables will fit within certain Phone cases and indeed Anker say this will not fit in the "Lifeproof" cases. Importantly and to avoid the ever so frustrating issue of bent/creased cables, at the point of exit from the connector tip, the cables are supported by about 5mm of rigid plastic extending back along the cable. Again a distinct difference to Apples preferred rubber wraparound. In terms of length, the Anker cables are available in 3ft and 1ft, my review being specifically the 1ft although I imagine performance to be the same.In respect of performance, it does exactly what it says - no frustrating error messages on any of the devices, connects well and charges well. I haven't observed any difference compared to Apples own cable in respect of rate of charge yet but I am erring to the view that this is indeed faster.I will try and run some timed tests in the next week or so and update the results here comparing Apples own vs Anker MFI (1st gen) and Anker Powerline. So my final scores are;Packaging 5/5 - simple, fuss free, minimal wasteAppearance 5/5 - smart appearance, good sturdy quality and finish, I like the wraparound cable tidy, although for 1ft, hardly needed.*Value 5/5 - £7.99 is a good value compared to cheap Chinese specials that fail and other MFI standard cables that are often over £10Performance 5/5 - great, does exactly what is needed, better build quality and connector tips than Apples own cablesOverall 5/5 - Better than the original cables, admittedly 1ft is short, but it fits a need, and Anker do longer models if you need more length.

This cable is very sturdy. I've never had a cable that is made of "bullet-proof" material! I should point out that this cable is just 1 ft in length. If you are looking for a longer cable, Anker has cables with the same quality construction, but with a longer length. As I tested this cable out, it was somewhat difficult when trying to use it with a wall-type USB charger. I didn't get it for this purpose, though. I don't know if you have ever tried to use your original cable with a portable battery USB charger but, for me, it ends up with "cord everywhere." This is often in a small container (purse for my wife) and the cord gets tangled up with the other stuff you are storing it in.This cable is the perfect length to be able to connect it to your battery charger and placing it easily in a small container / bag / space to charge. This is how I intend to exclusively used this cable. This allows me to keep my original cable by the bedside while having this 1 ft cable with my portable battery. Of the two applications, I think you would agree that you would prefer having the stronger, reinforced cable with the portable charging system.I wanted to test this cable out using actual charging times. In order to do this, I tested it in the following way. I compared it to the original lightning cable using the same 2.0Amp charging adapter. The devices I charged were an iPhone 6 and a iPad mini. I ensured that the battery percentage displayed on the device was exactly the same when startingon the device with each cables. Here are my results: For the iPad mini ,Starting battery percentage was 31%, charging current was 2.0A. The standard lightning cable charged the device to 100 % in 2 hours 10 minutes; the Anker PowerLine Lightning cable charged the device in 2 hours 22 minutes: there was no distinguishable difference between the two cables. When I charged the iPhone 6, however, with a starting battery percentage of 39%, the standard cable charged the device in 2 hours 43 minutes; the Anker PowerLine cable charged the device in 1 hour 59 minutes, an full 44 minutes faster. I only conducted these tests once, so take these numbers for what they are.I would like to note here, that I recently bought some non-OEM, non-Anker lightning cables to use on these devices, and they would not even charge either of them: You would get a charging indicator for a few seconds, then it would go off, and the battery would not charge. It is apparent to me that these Anker cables are at least as good as the OEM cables and they are cheaper as well.I was provided a sample from Anker in exchange for my honest review which I have provided above.

Until now I have generally used genuine Apple cables for my iphone/ Ipad. I now wonder why I have bothered. I had thought that by sticking with Apple cables I would always have a more reliable better quality cable. Now I'm not so sure. My experience with the Apple cables are that they are OK to start with, but after you have used it for a while, shoved it in a suitcase, accidentally pulled the cable a couple of times then suddenly the cable becomes kinked and stretched especially around the plugs.Since I got this Anker cable, I have put it in my pocket, squashed it in the car glove box and used it for overnight charging. So far it has been ideal and still looks as good as new.I do like the fact it is a very short lead. If I charge my phone from the in car charger it is good not to have a long cable getting caught around the gear stick. Also it is a lot smaller if I have it in my pocket. Come to think of it I don't think I have ever needed my charge cable to be 3 feet rather than the 1 foot of this one.The lightning cable is a snug fit in to my iphone. I can't really comment on data transfer speed other than to say I backed up my iphone to PC and it did so quickly. The cable is made from Kevlar which I think is part of what bullet proof vests are made of so on that basis they are going to be really tough and durable.I do find Anker products very good quality and reliable. On this occasion the company sent me the cable to offer a review, but my comments are honest and genuine and I can't see how anyone would not be impressed with this cable.Edit - I have also had the opportunity to test the 3 foot black cable. The construction is of a similar high standard to the 1ft cable. It has the same Kevlar construction and feels very flexible and durable. I had it curled up in my jeans pocket for a few hours and there are no signs of kinks or of the moulded heads pulling away. The lightning end is a snug fit and the plastic neck is narrow enough to fit on to my Ipad with the case fitted. As this was a cable sent to me by the manufacturer for review I thought I would see what happened if I strain both ends of the cable to see what happens. In fact there are no signs of damage at all. This is the first black coloured lightning cable I have had and on balance I prefer the appearance to the white. I can't fault the 3ft cable at all and would recommend it to anyone for whom the 1ft cable is too short.

Note: I have been given this product to write an unbiased review on it.I have purchased previous Anker cables for other devices before (Micro-USB), and they have all been of very high quality. This product is no different. The box it comes in is nice and compact, although I would . Inside the box, you will find the cable, and a little "booklet" (its just one sheet of paper folded), that tells you what to do if you were satisfied/dissatisfied with the product. The cable comes with a velcro tie that is very handy in my opinion, and looks much better than standard twist ties. This product is very short though, although you would probably know by the description of the product. In my opinion this cable is only useful as a backup when you go out, or for charging stations, Also, you probably don't want to leave your phone or worse, your iPad dangling like the icicles on the edge of a roof (like I did for the photo I included), so if you have a plug that is not near a desk and is too high up, I suggest you either invest in a small desk, make a "table" out of things like books/binders, or just buy a longer cable. The cable certainly does feel a lot sturdier than the standard Apple Cable. It is a little stiffer than the standard cable as well, and will not bend as far. The Anker cable is also thicker, but not by too much. The transfer speeds/charging speeds are about the same as standard Apple Cables, and I have not received any "Charging May Not Be Supported With This Accessory Errors", which I have received before on the cables that came with my device.Previously, I had bought cables that have both been MFi certified and non MFi certified, but many of them have felt very cheap, or the plugs would not seem to plug all the way into my iPhone/iPad, and I was starting to believe that only the Apple Official Cables were any good, until I received this product.Overall, I like the cable a lot! It feels like it is going to last a long time, and if you told me that this cable costed $15-20, I would not be too surprised.

It is clear from the moment you set eyes on this cable, that it is the best quality Lightning cable available.Anker really have thrown everything at this little cable, and have used some materials you would never have thought about in a Lightning Cable. This new range of Powerline Lightning Cables use Kevlar in there construction. That is the same Kevlar that is used in body armor. The same Kevlar that is bullet proof! In using this material they have made a cable that is the strongest on the market. And will outlast any other Lightning Cable by up to 5x.Now that is very impressive. The cable has a 5000+ bend lifespan,so no more frayed or kinked cables. These cables also offer faster charging and data transfer than normal. Thanks to the Thick gauge wiring and reduced cable resistance. All of the USB and Lightning ends of the cable are reinforced and will take any punishment you can throw at it.And they make the Apple cable look positively weedy in comparison. This Cable is fully MFi certified which means that the cable has passed Apples standards and is fully certified by them.I choose the 1 ft length version in space grey and it looks fantastic with my iPhone 6 in the same colour.I also went for the 1ft length as I wanted to team it up with my new portable charger from Anker. The Anker PowerCore 15600.This length is perfect for using with a portable charger as there is no need for massive length of cable. Now I can just take 2 cables, My 1ft Lightning Cable and a 1ft Micro USB Cable and that is all I need. The cable came nicely packaged in a small square box. With the cable wrapped in a nice Anker velcro strap, which I now use to keep both my cables neatly wrapped in My PowerCORE 16000 porable charger pouch. Also inside was a customer service leaflet and contact details. This cable is backed by a massive 18 month warranty, 6 months more than the Apple equivalent or the competition. But with it being made from Kevlar, it is very unlikely you will be needing it.Great job Anker.10 out of 10.

This Lightning cable from Anker is MFI certified and looks similar to the official cable save for a different style of strain relief and the fact it is only 30cm long. The build quality feels every bit as good as the Apple version with no obvious seams as can be found on cheaper options and the USB plug has a nice, sleek finish. Anker tout this as using Kevlar in the construction and this coupled with the shorter length should add up to a very durable cable. The MFI certification is also important as this means it should work in exactly the same way as the official cable so charging and syncing should be trouble free. Included in the package is a branded cable tidy which seems overkill for such a short cable but is welcome all the same.In my testing, the cable did prove to work as advertised. I see no weak points from a construction perspective and this should hold up to repeated use at least as good as the official cable, perhaps even better with the use of Kevlar which is welcome as I have seen the official cables split through excessive use. Only time will tell in this regard. Of course the other key comparison is price and this is where Anker nails it - this cable is almost half the price of the Apple cable. So why would you want a cable that is so short? Personally, I hate cables being longer than necessary and having a shorter, discreet cable permanently plugged into my works laptop means there is less clutter on the desk. I also found this shorter length of cable handy when used with an external battery pack when travelling and it is the perfect length for use with a car charger when the power point is on the centre console as opposed to in the dashboard.I personally would not consider the official cable when this Anker alternative offers the same experience for half the outlay and having this shorter length is a great option. If you need another Lightning cable and can see a benefit in a shorter cable, this seems like a no brainer.

I was impressed by the quality of Anker's Powerline Micro-Usb cable and was happy when i was given a chance by Anker to review the lightning cable with reinforced Kevlar. As Per Anker, Kevlar it much stronger than conventional cables. Is that true? when you take the cable in your hand, it definitely feels like a premium product. After five years of using apple OEM cables and other third party cables like monoprice, you will know that this is not just another cheap charging cable. The connectors are thick and feels like Anker tried to reinfornce this area to prevent cable breakage due to bending at the connector ends. This is well appreciated as most of my Lightning cables are broken in this area.To test the Kevlar claim,i put the cable to test. I took the cable and twisted it constantly for some time and then rolled my kids stroller over it (just for scientific purpose). It withstood all this abuse and i didn't see any visible marks on the cable. I also tried pulling the cable to each directions and it didnt strech at all. (I tried this with my fire phone OEM cable and it kind of streched like a rubber band, not sure whether this is a bad thing because these cables are not made to withstand stress like this). After all this the cable still worked without any issues.I also tried charging my iphone and ipad using this and i didn't see any issues.Keep in mind that cheap lightning cables also will charge your phone, so don't buy this cable to just charge your phone. This is a cable which will last long and take any abuse you throw at it. A very good travel companionI got this cable for testing from Anker but they doesn't own my soul. This an honest review and if the product wasn't good enough, i would have given a bad rating (like i did for the Innogie battery). Checkout the video i uploaded

Anker cables are my go to cables for both lightning devices and micro usb needs. I recently upgraded my old iPhone 4 for a new shiny iPhone 6s, which of course came with the added expense of updating all my charging/data cables (thanks for that Apple!!) I needed one foot length to use with my Anker PowerCore 20100 (which is also an excellent piece of kit) and these are perfect to keep in the supplied carry bag, along with the supplied short micro USB cable. These are also the perfect length where you don't need feet and feet of cable piled up such as connecting to my desktop USB hub to sync with iTunes and back up my phone. Also the perfect length and durability for connecting to car stereo and laptop. The lightening cable itself is MFI certified and has a chip inside, which means it will work with Apple devices without the compatibility problems you’ll find with cheaper inferior products. It has a bulletproof (not tested) coating which gives it a lot more protection than your average cable and you won’t be plagued with the annoying break out near the ends after a couple of months of bending and everyday use. The Connectors on the cable feel solid, fit securely and make it feel like an optimum connection. The cables come with an 18 month warranty and great customer service that Anker are known for, but I’m sure Apple will have changed the connector again by that time just to cream a bit more money out of us.Overall, this is another quality bit of kit from Anker and would recommend

Granted, I have only just received it, but hats off to Anker, they sent me this one as a freebie because I wasn't happy with the 3ft cables and couldn't find a shorter one on Amazon, yet there it was, hidden in the search engine (maybe broaden you search criteria so that we don't have to put in the specific length of the cable Anker? i.e. I was searching for "short" cable)Packaging was neat and compact (maybe ditch the layer of un-recyclable cellophane around the box though - this wasn't on the other cables I bought, so I'll assume you've already changed the packaging procedures and this one was lurking on the shelf)I like that it's shorter, so much neater and less likely to get snagged, pinched or damaged... therefore likely to last longer. When it does fail (lets be honest, they never come with a lifetime guarantee), being a 1/3 of the size of a regular cable, thats a lot less waste for the skip.So I like it, and if it performs as well as my other cables, I'll continue to be a happy customer. Thank you Anker

First and foremost, I received this as a sample from Anker in return for my honest, objective review as follows:I'm an Apple guy -- not an enthusiast, by any means; however, my company is an Apple office so, in turn, I've collected any and all Apple accessories with maybe 10 or so Lightening cables included.I also have a few external battery supplies, which are as big as half a #2 pencil. What's annoying is having to keep a full-sized lightening cable in my pocket when I'm going 'out' or to a game or something. This cable solves that problem! It's a perfect size.Take heed, Apple. No tangles, includes a velcro cable organizer around the cord for an even more compact experience, and is Apple MFi certified to boot.Pros: Size, data, + power, comes with a small drawstring carrying bag (let's be honest, if you're used to buying tech accessories you probably have a collection of these large enough to knit a quilt with -- but helpful, nonetheless)Cons: Doesn't support USB tethering

** UPDATE Nov 2016 **I've had several of these cables for over a year now, and they've been getting a good amount of abuse. I've attached a photo of one that's spent a good portion of time rattling around in my pocket (sometimes connected to and charging an iPhone, sometimes not - as you can see it's showing absolutely no sign of failing, so I'm very happy. These are clearly at least an order of magnitude more robust than the Apple Lightning cables, yet are half the price of the Apple cables.Original review:I work at an iOS application development company - with multiple devices per developer being constantly switched around, we get through a *lot* of lightning cables. Most fail within less than a year, usually because the insulation starts to come away at near where it enters the lightning connector, so I was very excited to hear about Anker's kevlar reinforced range. The cable I've tried so far is the 1ft space grey cable. This is ideal for use with

I needed a compatible short cable to use between an iPad Air 2 and my Phantom 3 advanced controller. This is a perfect length and works in the same capacity with iPhone 6s too.Mfi certified is a must when using these cables for any kind of data transfer even more so when updating the firmware of a device. Cheaper cables are just not reliable and the fact that you could in theory brick a device by using a cheap cable just isn't worth the saving compared to the potential cost to replace a device. The cable comes in a neat package and even comes with a small velcro type band that holds it neat, tidy and in place when you aren't using it.The main concern when buying these types of cables are the points between the connectors and the cables, these Anker cables are reinforced and look to be super strong so far.All in all, if you want a neat and tidy solution to connect your idevices to pretty much any USB, these are great.

Highest quality, robust Lightening USB Cable by Anker - USA's #1 cable manufacturer.I purchase these as they are extremely well designed and manufacturered. The swan-neck bending of the connectors is reinforced (unlike normal Apple Cables) that adds to longevity and prevents damage/necking or the outer sheath.Lengh of 1ft is great for travel and inclusion with portable batteries - I carry two with my Anker PowerCore 21000+ to enable me to charge my devices. No problems with connectivity issues, fits securely into lightening port and usb port. Also comes with small Velcro re-usable cable ties that are great for cable management. The packaging is environmentally friendly recyclable cardboard. Each cable is serialised and backed by an 18month warranty. This is a company that fully stands by the high quality of their products with great customer service.I don't bother with other cables - Anker is #1 for a good reason
