I bought this product to turn my existing micro USB cables into potential USB C type cables for my new phone, the One Plus 3. Rather than buying new cables, I thought this would give me the flexibility to travel with just one cable which charges both my device (with the adapter) and my wife’s device (without the adapter). Plus it’s a good back up to have in case I misplace my original USB C cable.Having said that, the product arrived in a really nice small package, with both the adapters lying flat in the plastic cut out package. I have actually retained the packaging as I find its best to put the adapters back in this while travelling. This way, they are less likely to be misplaced or lost, given how small their footprint is, and they remain safe as well.In terms of usage, the product works exactly as I would have liked it to. The micro USB cable fits nice and snug into this adapter, and in return, the adapter itself plugs nicely into my mobile phone. Both the connections are solid, and there is no chance of accidentally unplugging the charging process. In the morning, when I’m sleepy and not really paying attention, I have tried to unplug the thing by just tugging on the charging cable (which is wrong, I know!), and it simply ends up unplugging the cable from the adapter, meanwhile the adapter remains plugged in to my mobile phone. The tugging actually takes a bit of force, and it still doesn’t unplug the adapter from the mobile phone itself, which is a testament to how well made the product is.The price might seem a bit steep, but like another reviewer said, this is Anker. I have used their products previously, and their quality and reliability is top notch. Given that I will be using these adapters so much for many months to come, I think it’s worth investing in a reliable brand, which Anker definitely is.Oh, and lastly, as mentioned before, the adapters are quite thin and sleek. Other reviewers have added photographs, so I won’t add my own, but their pictures are not misleading at all. The adapters really are that small! Hence I decided to retain their original package as I think that’s the best way to story them when they are not in use!Overall, 5 star!

I was sceptical at first because I've never bought from this company before, or at least I don't recall but upon receiving the item I discovered it's a electronics company from the United States.I finally got a new phone after 5 years and it uses the wonderful brand spanking new USB3 Type C or USB Type C or whatever it officially is. I was like yes, finally the people behind the incredible and revolutionary Universal Serial Bus have finally made a reversible version. The future is here people! However, this new technology makes the old obsolete to a degree and as the cable that was package with the phone is a poultry 1.5 meters I am stuck with a 3 meter USB 2 charging cable that is not compatible with my shiny new phone!Well no more!Anker to the rescue. It's a wonderful USB Type C adapter that means I can use the old USB micro cable with my new phone, brilliant!-------TL;DRNow about the product, it comes packages in a lovely looking and easy to open blister type package infused with a small piece of card. The adapter itself is incredibly simple to use. It is a straight forward as you can imagine. Not much to say about it other than it looks nice and works great! To put it simply it does what it says on the tin, thanks Anker!P.S I used said shiny new phone and the Anker adapter to take and upload the photo of the Anker packaging! (Phoooosh Mind blown)

This cable has been reviewed and recommended by Benson Leung on the US website. For those that do not know, Benson Leung is a Google Engineer on the Pixel team. He is very passionate about the USB-C standards and is reviewing various cables on Amazon to help clarify those that are "approved".Highlights from Bensons review, which you can see for yourself on the US site. Now for more subjective judgments of this adapter : The Anker adapter has a black glossy overmold with the Anker logo on it. The whole thing is very small, barely larger than the Type-C or Micro-B connectors on both ends. The Type-C plug on this adapter is a very unique for a Micro-B adapter because in typical Anker fashion,it uses a very good quality plug made with a deep-draw extrusion process. The plug is a single continuous piece of metal all the way around, meaning it's stronger than other stamped type plugs. This type of plug is the same kind that is used on all of Google and Apple's Type-C plugs, and the quality shows here.In conclusion : A high quality charging and data sync MicroUSB Adapter from Anker! The adapter is a great safe way to breathe new life into your old A-to-MicroUSB cables for use with newer USB Type-C devices such as Nexus 6P/5X or Pixel devices. It is also future proof for fast charging USB Type-C devices to come!

DISCLAIMER: I recieved this product from Anker in exchange for an honest, unbiased review.I have two Micro-USB cables left over from my switch to my Nexus 6P and USB-C, and this adapter fits snug on both cables. Plugging it into my phone is also a snug fit. Removing the cable from the phone definitely needs to be done from the adapter, which is to be expected. The adapter itself is very small, its height being about the same size as the diameter of a quarter. For width, in reference to the stock cable that came with my 6P, the adapter is just slightly slimmer than the stock cable.Plugging it into a Tronsmart quick charger, which has QuickCharge 3.0 along with standard USB and USB-C ports, the device still charges normally, doesn't charge rapidly, but that's to be expected.Overall, until USB-C makes it's complete takeover, I would definitely recommend this to anyone that has Micro-USB cables they still want to use. They're slim, small, and work very well. Personally, if I didn't receive this from Anker, I probably would not have bought these due to completely switching to USB. After using it though, they've definitely come in handy, and they would have definitely been worth paying for.

I love Anker, and have a number of their products - I have seen their prices rise significantly in recent years though, as they have gained popularity.I purchased these Micro USB to USB-C converters as I purchased my first USB-C powered device (LG G5). I already own an excessive quantity of Micro USB cables, and so didn't want to have to carry around multiple cables to power my devices (I still need to charge other Micro USB devices and Apple devices). These converters were great! At the time of purchasing, I did not see any other manufacturers offering similar products. The converter is small enough to carry around in your wallet without adding too much bulk - which means I always have one on me.I also keep one permanently attached to a cable which I keep in my travel bag.I would say these converters are a little on the expensive side, as you can now get a pair of USB-C cables for a similar price. But, Anker is a name I know and trust, and I guess that means they are worth the premium, knowing that they will not burn my house down!

So from coming from a Galaxy S7 Edge to a Galaxy S8 Plus I needed a reasonable way to convert my Anker micro USB cables to USB C without spending around £25 for 3 cables. After a while of looking around I settled with adaptors of the same brand as my cables as I've never had a problem with anker and their warranty is outstanding. The build quality is as you'd expect from Anker simply but high quality, these have a firm hold while in your phone and I can't see them accidentally getting knocked out during the night if anything probably too tight but that may be with my phone being new so time will tell. I haven't seen much difference in charging/data transfer times which is a problem with some other cheaper cables/adapters.Overall if your upgrading phones from a micro USB to a USB type C I would highly recommend these if don't want to splash out on new cables. And because USB C is newish and not a lot of people have a ish C cable I carry the other adapter around with me in my wallet just in case.

Another fab product by Anker. Not much more to say on this item other than it does what it says on the tin. They are small and light in size so can easily fit in your wallet. The connector is nice and snug, and does not feel flimsy. The casing is plastic which keeps it light. Seems to charge my OnePlus 3 just fine. Of course it does not allow fast-charging but charges at normal rate. Works fine for data transfer as well. OTG does not work via this device. Some kind of rubber sleeve with a loop would have been nice to have so you can attach it to your keys or something, as they are so small I can see myself losing or misplacing it quite easily.Overall a must have device for anyone who has a phone/tablet using type-c and wishes to make use of their microUSB cables. Also worth just have it with you as most places/houses will have a microUSB cable lying around somewhere, but not necessarily a type-c cable, so its good to just have in case you ever need to charge. Highly recommended!!!

It seems a bit difficult to get USB type A to C cables in novel lengths at the moment, and it's a bit hair-raising ordering USB type C compatible anything because there are some interesting ways that a budget compatible device can really screw your fancy smartphone or laptop up.These converters are handy for converting a USB Micro cable into a USB type C cable with the proper inline resistors to charge at up to 2.4 Amps (the maximum available from a USB type A plug, according to the specifications) and prevent any exciting combustion or destruction of precious technological artefacts. They're kind-of boring to use, actually; you plug one end into your USB micro cable and the other into your phone or type C device. Then the device charges. They add about an inch of extra length to the plug connection on the device, which can be a little irritating now and then. It might be nice if there was a version of this product that has a couple of inches of cable in the middle.

The product arrived promptly. It fits nicely with a Nexus 5x and allows for charging all be it at a slower rate. However my reason for giving two stars is that I cannot transfer data between the phone and pc using the adaptor.**UPDATE** Since leaving my review Anker customer service made contact with asking if they could send out replacements as the first pair I received may be faulty. Obviously I accepted. After a week Anker made contact again to check if I had received the replacements, I had to inform them that I had not received anything to date. They then said they would send another set as I should have received them, which I did a few days later.I am pleased to say that the new adaptors work well. The main reason for the Five stars is the outstanding customer service, it really was surprising and appreciated.Thank you Anker.

I bought these to adapt old USB chargers to a new phone with a USB-C socket on, and went with these rather than anything cheaper because they come with the Benson Leung seal of approval (see his reviews on the Amazon US site). I can't verify Benson's findings about electrical performance but they seem to be well made.Having an extra cm or so on the end of the charger lead is a bit of an annoyance, but is the price you pay for being able to convert any USB charger into a USB-C one with a tidy adaptor. My other worry is that the extra length will effectively make a longer lever and so make damaging the phone connector more likely. So I'll probably be buying a legacy lead at some point (again Benson reviewed!)but until then these adapters are working fine. I may even buy more (one for work, one for home, one for the car... etc,)

I got this product as sample from Anker, To give a unbiased and honest review.I have been using a product since a week, I feel like saved after getting this adapter. Usually i used to carry a Micro-usb cable and lightning cable and as well as USB-c type cable. I know that's a lot, when put all these together that's a mess. After getting this product i put my USB-c cable aside and placed one connector in my wallet other in the office. Yes, i carried it in my wallet it is that small and thin.now in my backpack i can keep one USB cable and adapter to use for all android devices. Two adapters with low price and high quality that's a good deal.If see my pictures the it perfectly sided into my micro-USB cable and doesn't look like you added an adapter to it.I recommend this product

These adapters are very useful, and their tiny footprint make them very convenient to use. Being able to reuse the numerous old microUSB cables I have is great. They are made of a sturdy plastic, and the microUSB cables I tested with all fit snugly. One thing I wish they had added was a small loop or similar mechanism to keep from losing them too easily, especially since they are smaller than a dime. They are very easily misplaced, and if they could be stored on a keychain they wouldn’t be easily lost but still be easily accessible.Data speeds are only as fast as the cable you use, and that is limited by the microUSB interface. In general, these are great little adapters to allow you to continue using your microUSB cables on new devices, with the newer USB-C standard.

Contacted by Anker and offered a replacement which arrived promptly. Very handy little adaptor to save buying all new cables and small enough to carry in a wallet "just in case"========Original 1* Review "Fire Risk?" ====================Initially very happy, but after a weeks use one of the adaptors stopped charging my HTC 10 while attached to a (blackberry) micro USB charger. I initially noticed because my phone was very hot.I assumed the cable might be fault,y but when connecting to my laptop it reported a power surge and shut down the USB port. When unplugged metal of the adaptor was almost burning hot (too hot to hold)and appears to have a scorch mark inside (see image)I have been using the charger with multiple phones for years and not had an issue.

I've just upgraded my phone, which has a type-C socket - and now the plethora of micro USB cables are sitting around pining for more use. I have one type-C cable that came with my phone, which is fine for most part, but figured I could do with a spare at work for emergency data transfers, and also I'd need a new car charger.Or I could get these, and just convert my existing cabling. The plug attaches neatly to the micro USB end of your existing cable, and hey presto, a simple but effective way to reuse what you already had. The plug stays securely attached, so there's little danger of being lost, and overall works well. In time, I may just get more type-C cables, but for now, this is the perfect solution.

I was after a new USB C cable in order to charge my switch when I am away from the dock when the battery is running low. Most USB C cables cost a similar price to this item and I already have several good quality Micro USB cables lying around so this product was a no brainier.I am happy to say that the quality of the product is of a very high standard, it comes in easy to open packaging and most importantly it works perfectly. There are cheaper adapters on Amazon but reading the reviews show that the quality isn't up to snuff. My advice is go for Anker as they are excellent quality and it will work out cheaper in the long run as you will only need to buy once.
