FAKES EXIST!! DON'T BUY FAKES!!Mine is from Amazon and is real/authentic. Don't get your fingers burnt (literally!!) or risk damage to your phone just to save a pound or two.This is a handy little adapter that slots onto the end of a micro-USB cable and allows you to charge and sync your iOS devices with the increasingly common micro-USB charging cable.There are many fakes of this product so buy from a trusted seller only!! I bought mine from an Apple retail store and from Amazon - you're guaranteed an authentic one and not a cheap knock-off!iOS 7 (released in September 2013) recognises fake chargers and refuses to work with them - fake chargers have been responsible for PR nightmares for Apple and this new update prevents damage to your device and their reputation.Fakes will probably still work with iOS 6 but not very well - and their build quality will be poor.Although I was once hoping that Apple would comply with EU regulations by introducing micro-USB slots in their phones (just like every other manufacturer), this product is their work-around - technically it still works with micro-USB but you need to spend a few extra quid to get this adapter.The RRP of this adapter is £15, the same as a Lightning USB cable. I prefer this because I pair it with a cheap (but reliable) Nokia CA-101 cable which is far shorter and sturdier. I leave mine permanently connected but if I didn't, I'd be concerned about losing this as it's tiny and easy to misplace in your bag or drop without realising! The added benefit of this method compared to buying a full length Lightning - USB cable is that you can also charge other devices that use micro USB without the hassle of carrying an additional cable (my Kindle and iPad keyboard both require micro USB).The build quality and durability is what you'd expect - I've used one for a year and have been very happy with it.Apple deciding to change their cable means the 30 pin adapters that were so plentiful will slowly become redundant, but in the meantime the new Lightning cables are scarce and so fewer of your friends will be able to rescue you/your phone when you're on 3% and waiting for that urgent call! Most people would keep their main cable at home connected to their computer or power-point (for syncing/charging), so if you suffer from poor battery performance then this is the ideal solution for mobile battery management. Having one of these at your work desk or in your wallet/bag will make a big difference and will make flat batteries a thing of the past!I use mine with the Just Mobile Gum Plus, but if I was in the market for a portable charger today, I'd be tempted by the cheaper and highly rated Anker Astro E4. I also recommend the Belkin USB car charger which works with this.It's a shame that people get away with selling fakes and it's also a shame that this warps this product's ratings.I find little reason to not love this product except size - which for some people is probably an advantage and price - which is slightly steep but worth it when it allows me to get extra juice out of the iOS devices I've paid so much for!*DON'T BUY FAKES - BUY FROM TRUSTED SELLERS ONLY!!!*

I had an iPhone 4 with a case that allowed it to be charged by a matching Powermat charger. Very neat and functional. However, I recently upgraded to an iPhone 6 and there's no Powermat case for this, nor matching charger base.Fortunately, my Powermat had come with a Powercube gizmo that sits on the charger and has several optional plug tips to fit devices with micro USB and other charging ports. However, as far as I can see, Powermat don't make a plug tip for the Apple Lightning connector. That's where this purchase fits in perfectly. The Powercube has a mini USB plug, and comes supplied with a mini USB to micro USB converter. Then,sticking this micro USB to Lightning tip on the latter means I can now use the Powermat/Powercube to charge my new toy.It works perfectly. Delivery was also super-quick. Happy customer.

The reviews for this item are clearly divided into those pre Spring 2014 and those post Spring 2014. Nealy all the early reviews were poor. Which strongly suggests a poor quality fake. The later reviews are nearly all favourable - so I decided to try it out.I bought from Mobile Gadgets UK. The delivery was very fast. And the little (it is tiny) adapter simply works.I'd put the quality of this adapter at around 8/10. I put the genuine thing at 6/10 for quality. And it cost 3 times as much.That's a no brainer!!!! My recommendation is to buy this using a supplier with a high star rating and do Apple out of their monopolistic profiteering.

Despite what others have reported, I took the plunge with this item and am very pleased with it. It looks like an original Apple product and came in a small plastic bag with all the correct codes etc. Usually cheap knock-off copies are easy to spot, but this is bang on, and it works very well indeed. It makes any micro-USB cable a certified Lightening cable. Quick postage as always and delivery is by Amazon, so nothing to worry about. Also, it is tiny, mine lives on a micro-USB cable and the little hooks keep it in place.

Great quality Apple accessory so you can use existing micro usb charging leads to charge or sync your device. Works great but comes at a price like most genuine Apple accessories do. But at the end of the day, you get what you pay for.When used in conjunction with a good quality micro USB lead, this will probably outlast the genuine Apple charging leads twice over, therefore making these better long term value for money.

Good quality product, at a good price, delivered when they said they would (Not from Glitzy Gizmos who sent the wrong item and did not believe that they had until I showed them date proven photographic proof). Slight indications of graunching when pushed onto the micro USB but I think any connector would to some extent. I now have car chargers in both my cars converted to Apple Lightening connectors :).

This is fantastic. Connects over a micro USB cable to power your iPhone, iPod with the new small connection. The fit is snug, the charge is seamless and for a small price you can convert many spare micro USB cables into iPhone chargers.I now keep a micro USB wire and this connector in my travelling bag so I have two wires for the space of one!

Didn't realize until i collected this item that it is an official Apple product so no surprise it works really well and i have loads of micro USB cables at home i can use this with which they are half the price of a Apple lightning cableHad no problems with it so far it worked as it should straight out of the box.Happy with my purchase

So far so good in that it appears solid and not too much leverage on the lightening connector, which has been the killer for the old apple to lightening adaptors where the lightening protrusion becomes loose, fracturing its internal connections. The true rating will be all about how long it lasts overall.

Everyone who has an iPhone needs one of these and every man who has a Samsung needs one in his wallet for when the girl needs to charge her iPhone... like opening a door for a girl, having one of these as a Samsung owner is required.Ps I own an IPhone and the admiral has a Samsung (for balance)

Connects your apple product that has a lightning connector with a any micro USB cable. Ideal to keep it in your wallet or purse for those when you need to charge your product in those emergency occasions when no one around you has a lightning cable.Great product, highly recommended

Very handy device for all Apple products using this connector type. Saves cluttering up with wires and works every time. Warning, do not buy inferior not Apple products that purport to do the same thing as they can prove very unreliable. Great product, would recommend to anyone

Fantastic invention! Having just purchased a new iPod 6gen with the lightning connection, I needed a few more options for charging other than taking my one cable all around the house with me. Now I can just pop this onto any of my micro USB chargers (which I have a lot of!).

These are great and have cut my cable clutter having been issued an iPhone at work as my other phone is a micro USB Nokia 1020 so 1x charger and 1x cable and I can now charge any phone! Perfect...! Works as a sync cable as well as a charge cable..

Use it every night in the past 3 years for charging my phone, occasionally for data transfer and it works flawlessly. Quite useful to know you have a cable plugging in that is compatible with both USB micro and an iphone/ipad devices.
