Reviewing a cable is a bit like reviewing a 13amp plug. What can you say other than 'you plug it in and it works' or 'it was 1m long as stated' or perhaps 'didn't fall apart after a week' to be honest?Actually, when it comes to these Anker cables, there's quite a lot to say. Thankfully, as I like writing this stuff.OK, let's do this in an unboxing stylee (see attached photos) and begin with the box. It's like no other cable I've seen, with a wax paper overlay and very smart indeed. I'd prefer a blister pack or one of the Amazon ziplock bags to be honest though, save on a bit of waste the world really doesn't need. When you get past the wax paper, you don't find a cable but a suedette (is that a thing)feel pouch. Open this up and your cable sits within. Actually, it is trapped within by a Velcro strap. There is method to this seeming madness however, as you can use the pouch not only as additional travel protection but to regulate how much cable you reel out. Nice touch. The cable itself is what matters though, that's what you are buying here and not all the 'look at us jazzing up a boring old cable' malarkey. And a boring old cable it isn't, it's a pretty nifty one. I needed a USB-C to USB 3 cable, so this review applies to that but (having also just ordered a USB to micro-USB charging cable from Anker) it seems that the same construction applies to all.I can't yet attest to the lasts 5x longer claim that Anker advertises, but it wouldn't surprise me. This thing certainly appears to be made to last. It's something of a survival cable, in fact, and should have it's own reality TV show. Or maybe not, so back to the review. The double-braided nylon is nothing new, lots of premium cables do this now, but the combination of this with a toughened aramid (honeycomb) fibre core gives this one a really strong feel and zero chance of knotting. Then there's the laser-welded connectors which have a rubber cloak at the cable end to provide flexibility and help lessen the usual 'bend stress' damage you get at this point. Anker claims it can survive 5000 or more 'bends' compared to 1000 of most cables. That doesn't sound like an awful lot to me, but time will tell I guess. The fact that Anker gives an 18-month warranty on a cable is pretty impressive. The company seems to stand by the tougher than the rest claim, and my experience of its customer care people is that they replace stuff without hassle. Which makes buying this cable, even at a small price premium over the cheapo ones, a bit of a no-brainer for me. What's the worse than can happen? If it wears out in a year I'll invoke the warranty thing and get a replacement. Sorted.

!!! Update 22nd December 2016 !!!Anker customer services confirmed to me, after checking with their engineers, that this does have the required 56k Ohm resistor. This is required by the spec of USB-C and is absolutely essential if you don't want to fry your equipment! Most cables that manufacturers bundle with their devices are thin and flimsy, but it's really important with USB-C cables that you buy a verified, quality one as otherwise you can fry your device. This hasn't been reviewed by Google, so it's hard to have complete confidence in it, but it has a wealth of positive reviews, and it's made by Anker, who take their quality seriously. The short story is,it's also a fairly well-made cable that will certainly stand the test of time.As previously mentioned, USB-C cables are a little trickier to buy than microUSB cables. I own some expensive devices and quite frankly am afraid of frying them with crappy cables. If you've been reading around, that really is a thing: even Anker's own cables aren't immune from this issue, which is why I read around before testing this extensively with my USB-c gadgets. It seems like this higher-end set does not have same issue their lower-end cables had with "remembering" the last charged device's voltage. From the start, this cable feels truly well-made. The kevlar is quite stiff, but not rigid enough to make the cable feel hard to manipulate, and the plastic on both USB headers feels really solid. I wasn't expecting the little felt pouch that came with the cables which was a nice little bonus—just a nice solid piece of stitched felt that can be used as a cable caddy while transporting this or any other cables you have lying around. In short, I recommend this cable.I hope this review has been helpful

I'll start by saying I don't like USB C, the connections are so small and fragile that connections are more likely to fail than to work, unlike all older USB standards. So one star lost as it's USB C. I understand the "needs to be up to date.. blah blah blah..." argument, but a "standard" that is as fragile as this was a mistake. As bandwidth requirements go up, we need reliable and robust connectors. So ends my style over function sermon...So on this cable...It appears to be very well made and robust, I say "appears" as I have only had it a few hours so only time will tell. It feels solid and well made too. The cable is a little stiff, but that is all part of the more robust nature of the cable.I have tried plugging this in and out of my phone and it seems to work consistently, so I would say from that standpoint, it is better than the Sony "originals" I have had (of 4 cables, only one worked reliably). With my phone, it charges and is recognised on my PC as a data storage device. It works reliably on USB 3 sockets, not so well on USB 2 sockets but that may be a driver issue on my PC. The USB C plug fits snugly in the socket on the phone and tablet, which is probably half the battle in making these connectrs work.It charges my tablet (Lenovo) at full whack, unlike some other cables I have tried which don't charge faster than the wifi drains the battery. If this remains the same, I will buy another couple of these for the car etc. I'll update this if things go wrong.

full disclosure: i received this item for free as part of anker's "power user" program in exchange for a fair and honest review.with that out of the way...my dad asked me if anker was "a good company" because he noticed how often i purchase things from them. the short answer is a simple "yes."anker's powerline+ series (i also have a 6 foot lighting powerline+) is premium in every way. you can really tell the difference in charging speed with these items.compared to other cables, the charging speed on this one is the fastest i've used and is the most comparable to the original cable my device (nexus 5x) shipped with. the braiding gives the cable a premium feel and it even has a nice satisfying feeling when plugging it into the device.some chords feel like they kind of wiggle in the usb-c port, this one doesn't. and the little carrying case is such a classy touch.and of course, data speeds are fast and reliable.if you want a cable that looks nice, feels nice, and IS nice, get this one. you can't go wrong.UNLESS you want it to fit into every single case. the one downside to the kevlar wrapping, nylon braiding, etc etc is that the housing around the usb-c end is a little too thick for a few of my phone cases. it's not a crazy problem, i can use another case, but if you have your heart set on a single case, make sure there's ample room for this guy to fit in.

Anker and superior quality products meet again. The first thing I perceived when I opened this product was the quality. The Nylon-Breaded cable comes inside a carry pouch with an innovative "system" that allows you to adjust the length of the cable as you desire. The strap for the cable inside the pouch is firmly sewed, so your cable isn't going anywhere. It is very stylish and has a soft material that makes me feel like I'm carrying a really expensive item inside. The cable itself looks and feels like most of the Powerline+ items of the Anker family. It's very strong but light and manageable at the same time, holds any pressure or strain and feels like is going to last for years. It's made of double-braided nylon on the outside, Kevlar on the core and the connectors are laser-welded. Since I bought an Anker cable before, I wasn't scared or surprised by the fact that you have to push slightly harder than other cables to get this in position. Actually this makes me feel more secure because of the grip and I'm used to it and love it. HasIf you are the kind of person who's tired of buying cables every 3 months or so, this is for you. This cable is strong, sturdy, made of excellent materials. The pictures speak for itself.I was supplied a sample for test and evaluation, and I promise that my review is fair and honest.

Anker at its best again! I really love their new charging cables, Powerline+ as it strong and will definitely be able to handle heavy duty use for whatever situation. It also comes in a really cool carrying pouch to store the cable securely when you are not using it. Product exterior looks rugged and after using it for several times, I believe this cable will be able to last a really long time cause the build quality is awesome. In the past, I always have the issue whereby the tip of the cable wears out after bending it so many times but with the Powerline+ cables, those days will be over! It is easy to use with any usb chargers, car chargers and portable chargers by just plugging it to the right slot. The fit of the cable with the chargers are snug so don't worry about it unplugging easily when being tripped over. Charging speed is significantly improved with the cable as well. Personally, I am using it with my HP Pavilion X2 and this allows me to just travel light without the original charging brick provided. Overall, if you are searching for a good USB-C to USB 3.0 cable, you can never go wrong with this product. I was supplied a sample of this product from Anker for test and evaluation and I promised that my review is fair and honest.

We have numerous micro-USB cables at home for various devices but recently I got a mobile that has a USB-C connection so have the one cable that came with it. I like to have spares so I can have one in my desk at work just in case and/or carry one around in my rucksack for charging on the go.Initially I tried some of the new magnetic charging cables but the tips were too big to grip the board and too small to stay in the USB-C port on my mobile so I looked to Anker because I have had numerous cables, USB hubs and portable chargers all by Anker and they are all reliable. As this was going to be carried around in my rucksack (in a pouch I have for my cables and spare mobile battery)I wanted something durable and this looked to be the best with mostly positive reviews. It arrived in a perfectly sized box for protection in transit and the cable itself actually has it's own little carry pouch you can store it in which looks and feels good quality. Unlike the magnetic cables I tried this cable fits my phones USB-C port perfectly. I don't understand how there can be different sized tips but I am happy with this cable and can recommend it.I'm using it for an LG V20 in case anyone gets one and is looking for a perfectly fitting cable.

I got this cable as a replacement for a more expensive one that had unfortunately decided to melt it self - really wasn't a great cable despite the £20 price tag - so when buying a new one I didn't want to pay a high price again and have the same problem as before. This cable arrived promptly and so far has done exactly as listed, I'll list pros and cons so you can better make a judgement!Pros:- Bright red colour is so vibrant, its easier to see at night and in a rucksack or purse- Cable appears to be USB 3.0 so the data transfers are pretty fast if you need it for that use case.- The ends of the cables are tapered by the rubber to reduce strain from flexing so it appears to very durable.-Convenient velcro tie attached to the cable so it can be wrapped up and stay untangled.- The Cable is threaded/braded and it feels more premium and durable.- Appears to handle quick charging plugs too.Cons- length, I went for the 0.8m and I knew it was short so this is okay enough for myself but if you want something you can use while using the phone easier, then maybe consider something a little longer!Overall a really high quality cable, especially for the price point, would recommend!

This cord looks awesome, feels great, and is strong. Had a phone hooked up to it and it stayed connected to the phone even when it fell and hung from the cord. It managed to not bend or harm the phone in any way (also helps my case touches the connector surround). It also comes with a convenient carry case that has a strap to hold it in. It is a bit excessive, but it is nice to keep it protected in a purse, car, etc. Plus, it has a stylish look and slides in a pocket nicely. At 3 ft it's long enough for a vehicle, most side furniture and their Powercore external battery series. The nylon really feels good in the hands as well as the curved ends that aren't sharp or slippery when you grab them. It's got the blue USB 3.0 side to make it obvious and the color combinations are sweet.Compared to the other Type C cords I've gotten, this is by far the nicest cable and connector wise. The others haven't failed, but this just looks and feels premium comparatively.Overall, this is a great heavy duty Type-C cord that works great as long as your case doesn't constrict the Type-C connector.I got a sample to test and certify my review is fair and honest.

I always try to buy from Anker whenever possible, as I think they make good quality kit that is safe. I also like their committment to customer service (which I have used once and was extremely pleased with their response.)This USB C cable is much thicker than any other cable I've bought. It feels almost double the thicknesss of the Samsung USB C cable that came with my phone. Both ends feel sturdy and the material used feels of good quality. I chose the red colour so it would be easier to spot amongst all my other usual black/white assortment. I also like the very visible "Anker" written on the USB A end, so you know for sure you're using the right cable.I have a Samsung S10e and found that the charging time was the same, using either the original Samsung or the Anker cable.I have used the Anker cable to connect my Samsung S10e to a Windows 10 laptop and have copied data to both the phone's internal memory and a micro-SD card installed on the phone. It also allows the Samsung DEX Desktop app to work on the laptop.Overall, it's a great quality cable from a company I trust, at a fair price.

I've used Anker products over the years and always been impressed so knew I was getting a decent product. Recently I purchased a new Samsung Galaxy A70 mobile phone which only has USB-C as the charging port so couldn't use my old charger from previous Samsung models or in my car with the USB-A connection. This was an issue as I had been using my old Samsung Galaxy Note 4 with the cars’ inbuilt Android Auto which allowed me to use Google maps with the car's inbuilt infotainment screen. With this phone I couldn't connect to my Seat Leon 2018 so purchased a cheap USB A to USB C cable which was no good and the car wouldn't recognise my mobile or even charge it.After a bit of looking about I saw this cable so purchased it to try.I have to say this product works a dream with the Android Auto and also fast charges it when connected to the car it also allows me to use my old Samsung fast charger with a USB-A connector on the plug with this cable to now fast charge my Samsung A70.As always nice job Anker, keep up the good work !

I am generally fond of anker products, but lately I have been really disappointed with the build of these products. No doubt the quality of materials used for the cable seemed impressive, but what use is the cable if the connector doesn't fit the phone port. I don't know what's going on, but for the price I paid, I was expecting a good quality cable. I would not risk buying a cable that would damage the port of my new pixel or nexus 6p. Better to opt for an original cable or a reputed usb-C cable. I returned the cable, I would lay off anker till they bring up their standards.UPDATED May 2017:I was contacted by Anker CS, after which I returned the faulty cable and received a new one sent by Anker free of cost.No doubt the customer service is great. I tested out the new cable and it performs well in terms of both data transfer speeds and fast charging. The rugged design would ensure that the cable lasts a long time. This might be my on the go cable for my pixel.

I've always used the cheapest cables on the basis there's no difference between them. However, while that was true years ago, it's not true anymore. When buying cables to charge your devices, it's important you have the right specification, lightning, USB-C, USB-3. Whilst I've managed to get plenty of cables that work, they charge, and were cheap, they often didn't match the right cable specification and thus charged very slowly with a trickle.Anker on the other hand are awesome. All their cables are bang on. They charge properly, they connect securely and are flawless. I accidentally bought a couple of the powerline+ cables recently, not realising they were braided cables. I'm a total convert.Tangle free. No issues with flex. Brilliant product. I've been busy replacing all my chargers. This is perfect for me when travelling. Tangle free, secure connectors, charges fast, rugged. Will last well. I think the little pouch might be a bit overkill though!

I've been using Anker products since 2012, and I've never been let down, so when I wanted to try out the Thunderbolt 3/USB C port on my Dell XPS 15, I wanted to be certain I had a high-quality cable that wouldn't damage anything. That can be a problem with inferior USB C. I requested one from Anker and as usual, they went far above and beyond. I mean, look at how they package this thing, in it's own little sueded pouch? Who does that? The thing is Kevlar-reinforced, laser welded, fully braided with strain relief. Anyway, you don't buy cables for the aesthetic, although anything else is going to be disappointing.Does it work? As advertised, without any issues. Data rates seem to be consistent and fast, probably limited mostly by whatever you connect to it. I can't imagine it'll break or wear out with normal use.I spend my own money on Anker products, because I know I won't be disappointed.

Pros-Good Packaging and presentationComes with carrying case- case is stylish- adds to durability of the cableLong enough for most applicationsBraidedThick End Connectors add to durabilityCons -Thick end connectors could restrict entry to your nexus 6p etc..., if your case is that tight in that areaBraided cable causes the cable to curl in a way that could hurt future durability when the cable is compressed etc.Case is not necessary in most situations and could add to the product's price, but that doesn't seem to be the case.Thoughts: Overall the cable doesn't charge faster than any other Type-C cable i have, but it seems that it will last significantly longer than most other cables as Anker has put a lot of effort into making this a premium product.I received a sample of this product in return for my honest and fair review.
