Well, I didn’t get the chance to take a picture of this awesome self-heating pet pad before my boy Nash dived onto it and after treading it almost to death for about 10 minutes (just to make it his!) curled up and promptly fell asleep. Its like a drug, he hasn’t woke up since, but he’s still breathing, I checked :)I love my cats and love to spoil them so when I saw this on daily deals it was in my basket and purchased quicker than a flick of a whisker. I knew either Nash or Molly would love it, and I was right. It arrives nicely boxed, so its perfect to give as a gift this coming Christmas, especially if you pet loves to rip up card board boxes as part of the fun. My cat Molly loves boxes,so whilst Nash was sleeping off all the excitement of this pet pads arrival, Molly was busy shredding its box in the kitchen with her claws. All’s well in my house then.Size wise it comes in at: 64cm x 49cm and is plenty big enough (see pic) for my rather large black cat Nash. Molly, who is somewhat smaller, a lot smaller actually, would have a lot more room to roll around and snuggle on it if she got the chance. Nash isn’t poorly, but when he was a couple of years ago when he had to have 2 teeth taken out, this would have been perfect for his recuperation after the anaesthetic. So, if you have an ill best friend, this might be the perfect comforting gift for them to help them on the road to recovery. Older pets will love it, they love to snuggle and have their own cosy place to rest. Its quite clever how it works as there is no electricity powering its warmth. It works by reflecting your pets heat back at them! And it appears to work very well. Excellent value at twice the price!A little thinner than I imagined it would be and there is a bit of a crinkling sound when I press my hands on it, but it doesn’t seem to bother Nash and he was on it in a flash and sleeping soundly after that treading I mentioned earlier. There is a small zip pull on the side that alerts you to the fact that the cover can be removed for washing when necessary. I also advise you get yourself one of those pet hair removing mitts as this will pick up pet hair quite badly. Nash sheds a lot, so I am forever wiping over things with that hair removing mitt and brushing him to reduce the hair. I manage to keep a hair free home by keeping on top of it. But this pet pad will show up the black hair quite badly, so I’ll just give it a wipe with my hair removing mitt every few days and it won’t need washing all that often. Not unless he does that trick he does with fur balls! Unpleasant to say the least :)Awesome pet bed. Cosy, warm, ideal for poorly pets and elderly pets. Nicely boxed so can be gifted.Highly Recommended!!

Both of my cats wanted to submit reviews but they're too busy sleeping on their mats to bother so they asked me to pass on their observances:Ty says: I'm Siamese and 7 years old. I made my master place the mat on the wicker chair in the conservatory where I catch the rays in the morning. It's on top of my favourite cushion but I don't care because the pad is like lying on a sunbed, it's that warm. It's also soft and cosy and I don't mind the rustling noise from the foil inside because I'm used to the noise the wicker chair makes anyway. Once I've trained my master to bring me Tequilas too my life will be complete.Smokey says: I like to chill on my master's bed because his lap is too small for me to fit on now.I am NOT fat, just big boned, and anyway it's scientifically proven that masters shrink with age. The mat allows me to curl up in the middle of it and still gives me a good 10cm all round so that if I get too hot I can easily stretch out a bit more. I even go belly up sometimes and lie on my back when nobody's looking. I have my street-moggy reputation to think about.Me: I ordered these with Super-Saver delivery and they arrived in a couple of days, large box as the mats come in individual boxes which are also quite large. I can see why they're a #1 seller and would recommend them to ANY cat owner with 99% confidence, there'll always be that 1% of cats that you can't please no matter what you try. I haven't owned dogs in years but if I did I'd certainly give the large sizes a go too. This medium sized one would be enough for anything around the size of a Yorkshire Terrier. Easy 5 stars from me, delighted.

This was my rabbit's favourite comfort mat to stay warm on chilly nights whilst living outside in the garage! He now lives indoors but still enjoys using it as his 'comfort mat'. Buying here means it's significantly cheaper than in any pet shops, which is ideal as many stores charge significantly more money for the exact same product. The mat itself is a zip-over cover with a cosy sheepskin-like fleece on top and a thin fabric layer on the bottom with tiny rubber dots to prevent slipping. The inside is a crinkly foil-like sheet, which retains heat to keep your pet comfortably warm. The outer layer can easily be removed and washed in the machine when dirty, making it so easy to look after. These are perfect for any cats, dogs or rabbits in the colder weather, as the inner layer helps retain the animal's natural body heat and keeping them cosy without being a hazard at all. Just be sure there is other space for your pet to move to if they feel too warm! I did also notice that although my bunny is a serial nibbler and loves to chew or rip up bedding, he never chews this - possibly as it is a synthetic material rather than a natural one?The only slight flaw in this otherwise great product is that it does make a scrunching noise due to the inner layer when the pet sits on it, which can put them off at first! However even my timid rabbit got used to it and now loves to sit on it to keep himself cosy.Ideal for any pet owners looking for an affordable and safe way to keep your pets warm in the winter months, or on chilly evenings!

Well I bought this as we are snobs and have just bought a new sofa, and with two cats that ruined our old sofa I was determined they are not going to shred this one with their whiley cat ways. So I spent a fortune of feliway to discourage vertical scratching and also thought. we could:-Option 1 ban cats from room and sofa,Option 2 Wrap sofa in plastic for the next 20 years but we are not from that age group orOption 3 buy something to encourage them to sleep on and therefore depositing dirty paws all over cover not sofa. and wash regularly and merely leave us to dry clean sofa covers once a year. I know this is a little deluded but we want to preserve this sofa to see us out!So I will be back in 40 years or so to see how well it's all done!.Both cats loved it! The scardy one quite happily sat on it within a few minutes even with the rustly sound without a worry and the confident one , when she eventually came in quite happily sought it out ,sat and purred as if it was quite normal didn't quite behave as the weirdos previously reported but quite obligingly slept on said area without too much bribing.! Result! I may have to get another one though will have to monitor! It is a good size covers the whole seat area and therefore said cat is not perched with just part of it on seating cushion of sofa ( unlike another mat borrowed from a cat carrier that gave us the idea.). It seems very decently made and suits a large cat as the vet rudely describes them, Would recommend

I dont get it - i had my foot on it & it didnt feel warmer i sat on it & it didnt feel warmer. My cat Mau sat on it & since moved out of the bedroom where she normally sleeps on a big fluffy throw she loves & has an elec blanket she lies flst out on - & since sitting on this she has moved to this blanket & has not moved from it since? Its been days maybe a week of constant day & night snoozing i find it quite bizarre the other cat & dog/puppy haven't had a chance to try it.Exactly the result i was hoping for but just dont get it.So at first i thought this is not what i thought & then one pet sat on it & now lives on it never mind the noise business or people my cat would normally take time out in the bedroom but on this is somehow oblivious to the rest of the world in her own contentment.I get it but i dont realy get it thats all lol - hoping over time it will be shared but may be getting 2 more - in a way this means where ever i put these blankets the pets will be lol lol lol interesting

After we saw how warm and cosy our cat was sleeping on the Ancol pet bed and read about one of your reviewers who used one to keep her feet warm in bed, my husband and I decided to try some out for ourselves because we both suffer from very cold feet. We got the medium sizeblankets and put them under the lower sheet at the level of our feet and found them quite fantastic; when we put our feet there, after half a minute or so heat seemed to radiate from the blanket to the feet and after several minutes our feet were as warm as toast. The only problem was that we had to keep our feet on the blankets to keep warm so then we bought the large size blankets - they're very effective and radiate warmth for feet, legs and lower back, but a larger size - about 4 or 5 feet long - would be even better.

Great pad - sheepskin style top and material on bottom - zip to open - inside is a thin padded silver foil - I wondered if our German Shepherd would rip it up as she does with lots of bedding but so far so good - she has it in her massive kennel and I put it inside a big fleece as this sees to keep it in p;lace nicely and she loves it - she spends a lot of time outside as she gets too hot and bored indoors and each night before she comes in I check the bedding and there is an indent where she has been sleeping so all good and she hasn't ripped it up so has obviously learnt it is cosy. Size wise obviously she is bigger than it if she was laying out flat hence the fleece and then I have blanketsround to make a bed style for her as her kennel is massive and she curls up happily on the pad

This is oddly crinkly, but the cats seem to like it. The heat-reflecting part, similar to that silver foil stuff they wrap athletes in after a race, is inside a zipped, washable cover; I haven't tried washing the cover yet, I don't forsee any problems but can't comment on durability. One odd thing is that ours seems to reflect the heat through the "wrong" side - almost as if the reflective bit is facing the wrong way - but I daresay we could experiment with turning it over. While showing it to the cats I had it on my lap with the furry side upwards and my legs were getting awfully warm! It might even be nice for human feet at the bottom of the bed in winter .... In all I think it's rather expensive for what it is,but the cats like it so I might even buy another.

Arrived quickly and well packaged. My two little dogs seem to really like laying on this and as they feel the cold a lot I think this is helping to keep them warmer. It did scare them a bit to begin with as it kinda crackled when they walked on it but all is ok now.It has a cover that u can take off to wash it which is always a good thing where pets are concerned.Ithink the pad is maybe an inch thick and is quite snuggly..My two small dogs fit on it and there is plenty of room on the large pad.I would like to get the smaller ones to put in the dogs cages that they sleep in at night but gonna hold back on buying them to see how this one does.

Our cat is 19 yeas old and has always made a point of despising anything resembling a pet bed. She was recently diagnosed with renal failure and we thought she might like something to give her a bit of extra warmth and comfort in her old age, so we bought one of these but didn't really expect her to have any interest in it. Well she loved it and hasn't slept anywhere else since the day we put it down for her. We think it has helped her arthritis too as she runs to the kitchen for her breakfast nowadays, instead of hobbling painfully down the stairs. It was a good buy.

My cats like most, like to change where they sleep and what they sleep on, the good thing about these, they can take them with them to the next spot! I felt it might be a good idea with the colder weather etc, they love them.I put them where ever their current day time place is, and then move them come night time, they snuggle into them and seem to be happy. The size (I got medium) is perfect for the cats. I haven't washed them yet, but they have - I caught the girls washing hers then kneading it before snuggling down with it.........

I bought this to use in a soft pet house but turned out, the house was already warm enough. So, with simple nobility I am using it as an outdoor mat for my cats whenever weather permits. They love to stretch and roll around on it :)The quality of the pad is pretty good, easy to keep clean (just put in the washing machine); it seemed to keep my cats warm enough in the colder winter months, when I used this in a winter-proofed hut.PS: it could also be used as bedding in a makeshift pet shelter - in case you look after a feral cat.

Seems to do the job. I've used this to line a little "cat kennel" in my garden. The idea was that my cat could use it if she ever got stuck outside, but she does tend to come back pretty quickly when we call her and so far she's not been caught out in any bad weather for very long so I'm not sure whether or not she'd have used it... She's unlikely to now, however, as another cat from our area seems to have taken to sleeping in it when it's particularly cold! He seems comfy enough though...

My fussy cat loves this. He used to wake me during the night for a warm cuddle, scratching my face in the process. Now he even takes himself to bed, stays in the old washing basket he used to only love with clean washing in, and sticks his head out to see what's going on every now and again. The only negative I have about this blanket is I no longer have the cute cuddles I used to have, and the warmth he gave me in return.Spock is happy, and so am i! Brilliant product. Highly recommended

You only need to place your hand on this mat and you can feel the heat building that's exactly why my cats love it. It's a natural heat, doesn't get too hot.. just a nice pleasant warmth, I actually bought this when I took in a female cat about to have kittens. it was perfect for the kittens, kept them nice and warm whilst mum had a break. Now my cats use it. The removable cover makes it very easy to keep nice and clean..A perfect heat mat to add to any bedding.
