Essential first aid bit of kit. This cool mat brought the dog's temperature down enough to convert laboured rasping breathing and panting down to settled comfortable quiet calm sleeping within three minutes. We folded it to fit into her car seat, and again to go on the car back seat or on the ground when needed. We bought the large size for our 8.5 kg Pug which was larger than needed but we knew if it it was needed we needed all paws and underbelly on it to succeed. On holiday in France this month, she got very hot with lots of walking and the temperature in general. Being a short nosed breed she struggled with breathing, panting and wheezing which can lead to collapse in some dogs.

I read about these in the Pets at Home magazine and thought what a wonderful idea. After looking on the Amazon I found this item sold by Wundapets - and I am so glad I did. I have a 16 year old dog who has a thick coat (even in the summer) and she travels along with my parents and our other dog to and from Wales and the cool pad is fantastic.Thankfully it came the day before they went away and she lay on it all the way to Wales and I was told that it cooled her down significantly - I can't recommend it enough to anyone - I love this product and wish I had learnt about them earlier.In fact I like them that much I have just ordered 3 more from Wundapets so that my other dog has a cooling pad in the car as well and they can then be used in the caravan.

I originally bought this cooling mat in the summer for my little Lhasapoo puppy as she was find it difficult to stay cool in the heat. Needless to say, this mat is brilliant, and, as expected cooled her down on really hot days.I now actually have this mat permanently on my bedroom floor (it is now December) and she still uses it and loves it. She often goes to sleep on the mat and I've pictured her here cooling down after a long walk.I had to admit I had my reservations about buying this product due to mixed reviews but Beau loves it, and it really is money well spent.One thing I would say is the sizing is a little small. Beau is 7 months here and she's a Lhasa Apso cross with a Toy Poodle,

I got this for my 10 month old Pug she was getting hot now its summer and even more so with car travels. She does not naturally get on it and lie down but the weather went cold and wet when it arrived tyical britain style so not needed at the moment. This size is perfect for toy size dogs and great that you can fold it in the middle so it can fit in a dog bed or car seatI read about it getting scratched by some dog nails or chewed, I know what my pug is like she likes to dig in her bed so I placed mine in a old pillow case. I found that the cold feel could still be felt though it and just addded extra protection, she has had a little dig but no rips or nicks on the case or mat.

It's quite good. It feels cool to the touch but definitely not cold. I was hoping to use it at times on my pillow when I get a migraine, but I am not sure it is cool enough for that. In the mean time my bunny sort of likes it. He still seems to prefer using a cold tile to lie on or a glass shelf. Not sure what about the pad he finds less appealing, but he has used it maybe twice since we got it a little while back. I left it out for him in the spot he likes to sit in when it was hot, and he still chose a glass shelf to lie on instead. I guess it just depends on the pet, but I will be using it in his enclosure on hot days, so I don't think it is a waste.If you found my review helpful,

This product arrived and then my husband saw an online review of ones being sold at B & M bargains (much cheaper), so I went along to have a look....but did not buy!!!! This product is far superior and although the dogs were hesitant to use at first....although it came in handy for my son......they will now chose to lay on it. I have not put a cover over it and it does seem hardwearing....although my dogs are not chewers! I can't really describe how these are filled as it seems to almost like a stiff thin sponge, the ones at B & M were gel filled that when pressed squished out from under my hand leaving potentially nothing under the dog....these do not do this,

I am so glad I sent for this Chillax.....In the past my 7 year old Cavalier has laid on my Chillo Pillow, in fact I had two and used to rotate them, as she hates warn weather and pants heavily. One started leaking and as they are expensive I thought I would give the Chilax a try.When the Chilax arrived I put it down and she lay straight on it.....The instructions say it can be put in freezer or fridge , but it feels very cold without doing this.So I am very happy with purchase and shall be sending for another, then if we get some really hot weather I can keep one in the fridge to rotate them.Happy customer and happy doggy!........

Delivered within two days - and very welcome due to current heatwave! Excellent service from Amazon!Bought two - one for my cat and Yorkie to share and the other for my Cockerpoo pup. Whilst the pup is nearly a year old and her head and feet overlap it a bit she is still very happy with it! After a sniff and a few turn arounds she lay down, positioned her body along the mat then fell fast asleep! Probably the best sleep for several days. Will fit nicely into her crate for travelling too. There is a larger size 60 x 90cm - which is the same as many 90cm (36") long crates....may consider this option too in due course!

Bought for my cat. I had to experiment as to where to place it (you know how cats are), but she did stay on it. I tried it by putting it on my pillow and it really does make your face cold. So I was confident it would help kitty. It’s plastic on the outside too which means I can place it beside her and sneakily slide it under her. Hee hee. I would buy this again. Great for kitty in this heatwave. Also bought an air cooling cube (where you add water and it blows cold air out) here on amazon and pointed it at her, which also helped. These products together helped cool kitty in temperatures of 30 degrees upwards.

I think its ideal but its going to take a bit of time to get my dog to lie on it, we are due to go away in the car so having this on the back seat will make a real difference. I am going to place a sheet over the pad but I can feel the difference so hopefully the dog will to. My only bugbear is that it didn't come wrapped in anything just an address label stuck on the front of the box, if it had been damaged or split the contents might have been damaged or even lost. I know we are living in a recycling age and wrapping is an issue but even a large brown envelope would afforded some protection.

My Border Terrier is now nearly 11, and suffers in the heat despite having been stripped so she's ready for the warmer weather. She also gets fairly stressed travelling in the car, and very hot too. Bought this cool mat and tried it out on the patio in the shade of the umbrella, took her a while to lay on it, but once she did, she stayed put for a couple of hours snoozing (usually she's up and back indoors on the cool of the kitchen floor tiles). Also laid it in her cage in the car, and she panted far less than she usually does. Good size for a Border Terrier or smaller.

Bought this for my westie who very quickly overheats when he get excited from barking at cats, dogs, the postman, visitors - just about anyone or anything really! In hot weather, he flops onto this pad and stretches out as fully as possible (hence buying the large size for a small dog!). It has been invaluable and he quickly adapted to using it. We'll be taking it on holiday with us over the summer months as it easily folds down to enable it to be packed away It will also be useful when travelling in the car. Our dog certainly likes his home comforts!

I bought one of these some months ago to put in a chair in the lounge for my particularly fluffy Pomeranian during the summer months.It was proven time and again as she would come in from walks, get a drink and go and lay on the cool pad until operating at a more reasonable temperature.It was so effective in fact, I've bought a second one for our other dog, who despite being less well insulated, is equally appreciative.The quality is great, it hasn't leaked or been damaged despite months of daily use. Highly recommended.

My girl loves her mats. I ordered two - one for downstairs and one for up. After reading some of the reviews about the mats being slippery for little paws, I covered both of mine in plain cotton pillowcases and that does resolve that issue. I feel also to mention for anyone who uses the small (24") dog crates, that these mats when folded in half (there's a natural dividing line built into the mat) fit her crates perfectly so she is also able to remain cool throughout the night. Amazing product and highly recommended.

This mat is a life saver, although I don't have a dog!As a lady of a certain age, I suffer with night sweats and, the human chillmats are very expensive, as much as three times the cost of these doggy ones. I know we didn't really have a summer but, buy one now before they are put away for the winter because, let's face it ladies, the night sweatsare any time of the year. I've got the big one and I wouldn't be without it. -))So, tell your girlfriends and save a fortune on human mats. It's money well spent for me!
