The fan is very quiet in operation, at least at speeds 1 & 2 and the remote control is simple to operate - simple enough to use in the dark if required. If the wall switch is turned on, then the light automatically illuminates, but the fan does not automatically come on (where a remote is installed), which is a useful feature. The whole unit looks attractive and despite a couple of niggles described below I would recommend it.The remote control unit is not supplied with batteries (2 x AA) and the battery contacts are a bit flimsy, but the overall construction is sturdy.I installed the fan in my bedroom which has a sloped ceiling and the ball joint in the suspension unit will accommodate slopes up to about 30 degrees from horizontal.To do this, I needed a 300 mm extension rod to prevent the fan blades from being too close to the ceiling. This lowers the fan unit by an additional 200 mm, but the supplied wiring loom extension is a little too long and the extra wiring needs to be tucked inside the ceiling dome.Although the remote control is a considerable advantage, the controller power unit (about the size of a pack of cards) sits inside the ceiling dome, taking up all of the free space and leaving no room for a ring main junction block (not supplied). If you have a concrete ceiling you will probably need an additional junction box to house the ring main wiring (if installed). If you don't have the remote control, then there is probably room to fit the junction block within the dome.The instructions are delightfully vague, being keen to describe everything in 26 languages rather than use good pictograms to be understood by all. It took me about 4 hours to install, but a good portion of that time was in sorting out the ring main. I would recommend fitting the fan blades before installing the motor unit - much easier to do it on the ground rather than from a step ladder. Make sure that the connector blocks are pushed fully home to click, otherwise the connection is not made.

I've had this for quite a while now, so it is well tried and tested. I am always at least 10 degrees warmer than my husband at night and it has always caused problems. This fan (and the remote) solved these problems immediately.It took two qualified electricians a long time to fit, but they were doing it in the evening with a lead light. We keep the remote between our pillows so that I can turn it on and off whenever I need - but hubby can also operate it if I've fallen asleep and left it on! Fortunately, the ceiling light in the bedroom that the fan has replaced is on my side of the bed and towards the bottom of the bed where my feet are,so that the main cold air is directed at my feet and not at hubby.We had problems about six months ago when it started making a noise when it was working, but we found out that one of the grub screws that hold the light bulb on had worked loose. I suspect that this might have been the problem with a lot of them that have been reviewed as being noisy. We have the slats wood-side facing down and it looks fantastic.It is so very, very quiet, it's amazing. On the very highest speed there is a little bit of white noise, but nothing can be heard with the other speeds.It really has changed our nights - and we are really pleased that we bought the remote too!Buy with confidence (and with the remote), but unless you are really sure you are happy working with electrics, get an electrician to fit it.

Overall a good quality fan that once installed looks and functions very well after a little tweaking. However I did find that some of the pre-tapped (threaded) screw holes were not formed or finished properly and required some hand dressing to get the screws to bite. Also the screws provided are of an inferior quality and very soft which doesn't help when fighting to to get them started in the aforementioned holes.In operation it's very quiet (noisiest on the slow setting with a faint but discernible mains hum from the motor) but to address a slight imbalance/wobble on high setting I had to physically bend the blade mountings to bring all blades into alignment.Don't let the gripes put you off,this is still a very good fan for the price which looks more expensive than it is and I wouldn't hesitate to purchase another.

I ordered this on a Monday evening and it was delivered, using the free option, on the Wednesday morning. Excellent, Amazon!The pull cord on the old fan broke after about 20 years and so I had to buy another. This turned out to be almost identical in some ways but much better in others. Firstly, it can easily be installed by a competent DIYer on their own, even though though the motor unit is quite heavy. The fan is much quieter than the old one.I assembled the fan in its entirety before putting it in place because that was much easier than trying to do it in situ. Although the blades are shown as white in the illustration, one side of them is woodgrain,giving the option of some colour.It is solidly made and I am pleased with my buy. I am thinking about getting another.

Good ceiling fan, at a reasonable price. Yes there is a low hum at the lower settings, but it is not loud. Installed one on a low ceiling, without the down rod, in the bedroom, and another on a longer down rod , in the conservatory, which is quieter. Less noise transfer from the down rod, along the ceiling I guess. Both look fine. Been great to move the air around, on the close summer evenings. Slept fine with it on the lower setting. Important to make sure the fixing bracket is really tight, and I mean tight! on the ceiling joist, otherwise it will wobble. The supplied ceiling screws are not good for this, and were binned ! Hence 4 stars. I put more substantial and better quality screws in and fastened up tight,with the rubber pads behind.

I now have four of these installed, and may still grab another for the kitchen.Relatively straightforward to install if you're comfortable and competent working safely with household wiring. Do ensure when you're putting it together that all the screws are firmly seated, otherwise it'll rattle!It moves a reasonable volume of air around, even on the lower settings, without making too much noise (see note above). Even at full speed, it doesn't prevent TV-watching.Note that the light fitting requires a standard ES screw bulb - don't get one of the mega-long super-bright folded-tube ones, as the lampshade is a little shallow. Anything about the same length as a standard old-style bulb,or even a little longer, will be fine.

This fan was installed today by an electrician with the help of a carpenter, my husband. Although there are instructions, they are not as clear as they could be and it took two professionals a while to work it out. Was a bit like the Chuckle Brothers, to be honest. The fan is heavy and awkward to fit ,so was glad there were to pairs of hands to fit it.However, once installed I was very happy with the fan. It runs quietly, even on the fastest spin and gives a good cool breeze. Would have given 5 stars but the light cover came out the box with a chip on it. You can’t see it once it’s screwed into position, but we did have to be careful to avoid the chip when tightening the screws.

I left the drop rod off on mine so that the fans fit closer to the ceiling, so their was a bit of extra cable to fold up into the top housing, but that worked ok. I liked the way that the ceiling mounting plate has a small hook to support the fan unit whilst you fiddle around with the wiring (so your have both hands free to do so). I liked the plug and socket arrangement too, which makes it easier to install.Now I know how it goes, I can remove the fan unit from the ceiling mount for cleaning or redecorations in minutes.Very pleased.

This is a very nice fan-light, bought for my bedroom I found it easy to install (I'm an electrician) just make sure that you use a decent length and section pair of screws to fix the bracket that holds the whole thing in place, I used a 40mm x 5mm as I can be confident of this holding in place over the long term. The fan is quiet, especially on low speed, which is what we use when sleeping, all round I'm very pleased with this equipment and will probably buy another for the spare room.

Delivered on time and as described, very impressed with ease of installation with the hook facility and push fit elec connections.I have always found Westinghouse good quality but more for industrial use but this item appears to be good quality for domestic use and reasonably quite,Have not hooked up the remote control as yet but manual switching is fine and does not swing around making a noise

When the weather was really humid , the fan seemed to circulate hot air . I don't think anything but an ac would be adequate for that level of heat and humidity. When it's not as hot, humid the fan feels good . You actually feel a cool air. Wanted to get the remote but was in two minds from the reviews people gave. I'm pleased with the fan regardless. Nice feature, nice price.

Chose it, ordered it, arrived 3 days earlier than quoted, fitted it and it is working perfectly.The Blades are dual patterned, white one side, basket weave on the other, so you have a choice.Instructions are easy to follow and fitting took me around 30 mins, so I'm well pleased.Dont forget, if you have an Apex Roof / Ceiling, you WILL need an Extension Rod.

Replacement for broken conservatory fan/light in our new house. Not needed fan yet but looks good, easy to fit etc.Amending this review in November as needed to contact manufacturer for replacement screw that had come loose and got lost- excellent customer service from German company who replied promptly and arranged for new screws to arrive.Impressed.

This ceiling fan is absolutely brilliant. Excellent value for money. It's almost totally silent on the lowest setting, and even on the higher settings is not too noisy at all. I'm a light sleeper and can sleep perfectly with this on all night. It's been a 'Godsend' especially for me as hot flushes were keeping me awake at night. Highly recommend this.

I decided to get this product while we are suffering a prolonged heat wave (UK, 2018), and it is certainly doing the job well. The multi-language installation instructions were very clear (albeit I had already checked some inter-net videos), and it was relatively easy to put together and install. It was well packaged, and presented. Excellent value!
