I bought this unit because I needed a particularly quiet fan. I found the unit in a list on the Internet that listed the most powerful fans.Of course, the design falls out of the expectation horizon, and in my opinion, the device is also very large and actually has a room-aesthetic character. Many evaluators here did not seem to be aware of the fact that it is technically impossible to build an actively cooling, detachable fan. These people are simply uneducated and stupid.- I hope that Dyson will make further progress in further reducing noise emissions. Maybe further modelling of the flow geometry or microporous material can swallow more sound. Of course there are always limits, and Dyson is already far ahead...- The remote control is a bit small, I would like to have a flashlight function and backlit buttons in it, because especially at night quiet continuous operation wants to be adapted if necessary. It remains incomprehensible to me that still some stupid batteries must be inserted. The remote control has its clear magnetic clip position on the main unit, ideal for induction charging. I already expect that from a device in this price league. The swivel function and timer function starts with me (also with correct distance and proximity to the device) statistically always only after about 2..3 key strokes, that is bad.- In addition, I would like to have 2 swivel ranges, a slightly smaller one as an additional option.I bought the device, although Dyson's CEO Hames Dyson (convinced stupid loud Brexeteer, who now moves the company headquarters to Singapore inconsistently and lyingly (like all these scoundrels) and wants to weaken GB and Europe with it) actually doesn't deserve a penny's salary.https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2019/jan/23/james-dyson-brexiteer-elite-brexit-rees-moggWhatever: I got through the heat record days of 2019 with the AM07 well.

This is an interesting design. It's basically a impeller in the base (like a vacumn cleaner on blow) and a clever ducted air emitter which projects a very focused air stream. At about 2m away it's about 0.5 meters wide, and the same height as the loop. This gives a noticeable air flow at even the lowest setting, and your own personal wind tunnel at the maximum. It has ten power settings the lowest two of which are very unobtrusive soundwise, and cool like a persistent gentle breeze. Levels three to seven seem comparible to my conventional tower fan from lowest to maximum. The highest 3 settings are VERY intrusive in a quiet room but you can certainly talk over them easily.I think it's mostly wind noise rather than the motor and internal blades which are well baffled. The highest settings feels and sounds like a hurricane in your room; you couldn't sleep with it at that level, but you'll be glad to have a blast of it in a heatwave or after exercise. That's the key to this fan. It's not as silent as some suggest but, you have a wider range of power options than a conventional fan. Make no mistake, although it's a whisper at the lowest level, it's going to be loud on maximum. As for value for money, it's a novel design at a premium price. It does give you good control over air flow, from whisper levels to a maximum which probably exceeds most fans.If money is tight though, you could get a pretty good alternative for a tenth of the price.

Pro - I totally love this. It looks great, simple to use, takes up less space and is plenty powerful enough to do the job I want (keep me cool in a large bedroom). Adjustable settings and ability to oscilate allow perfect flexibility depending on how hot your room is. You can hear it (of course) but it is far far quieter than my previous large size floor fan and considering the power it can kick out, I'm well happy. I tried the desk top model and although it was great, it wasn't quite powerful enough to be used at such a distance away. I also love that it can be controlled from the bed - my last fan had to be kept in exactly the right position to be felt over the end of my bed and to not make a rattling as the blades went round,so every time I moved it to clean I would then have to hop in and out of bed that night to get the right tilt again; this dyson tower fan can easily be adjusted while in bed still - no more hoping in and out. Both speed and oscilation can be controlled remotely amongst other things - I prefer this fan in stationary mode but this function helps to get the direction just right while i'm in bed). I was worried that the bed would block me from feeling the air circulation but this tower fan easily reaches way over the height of my bed.Con - Price. The blue light is rather annoying as it lights the room a little but I decided to keep the product despite this as the good far outweighs this grumble. I wish I'd got one years ago!

I wanted a fan that looked great and was unobtrusive. The Dyson Cool Tower fit the bill. It was a lot more expensive than other fans but what attracted me was the stylish design, the Dyson brand, it was British made and promised 60% quieter sound. Initially I was disappointed with the noise, it wasn't as quiet as I had hoped. But it does go up to high speeds which allow you to have it away from you but still get a nice strong blast of air. I agree with other reviews that the LED is very bright at night in the bedroom. But not really a big deal if your eyes are closed ;-) The most annoying thing to me is the power switch. I'm not sure of the technical term but because it's not the usual click on and off you can't connect it to a timer or smart plug.Yes it's great that the fan has a remote and a self timer to turn off, but I would like to be able to turn it on remotely using Apple Homekit. I think it would also be nice if you could adjust the oscillation degree. When you're really hot and sitting in a chair or lying in bed it feels to be too long to wait for the next blast of air. You can turn the oscillation off but when you're lying in bed on a hot night the air just hits one part of your body. Would be great if you could adjust it to go just up back and forth a few degrees.Having said all that, I bought another one. I love the design and it's a British product. But could do with the price coming down a bit.

As usual Mr Dyson comes up trumps with this fan I had a rotary one which sounded like a plane taking off so decided to invest in this model ok its not silent but it is powerful which means you can have it on number three and still feel quite a draught Putting it together took about 5minutes without even looking at the instructions as it is clearly marked on the machine as to what goes where, the design is very modern, the colour pleasing, it has a little remote thats sits on top of the machine it matches the curve of the top and is held magnetically ,when turned on the control panel lights quite bright but I use it as a night light because its so low down the machine you don't really notice it when laid down (I use it in my bedroom)it has one to ten settings ten is very powerful and the noise level is not too bad five seems to be a compromise of power and noise for me, with he oscillation turned on it covers a good area, there is no noise increase when it is oscillating you get what you pay for and this is a top end fan there is nothing like it around as far was I know that can compete so from me its highly recommended I gave it five stars for value because I got it in the sales

Well I finally took the plunge and bought a Dyson fan!I didn't pay full price, as that was pointless, seeing as you can search online for the cheapest price. Not as robust as I presumed (very plasticy feel) certainly not a premium priduct feeL for the moeny charged, but easy to build, and it works, although pointing the remote has to be exact, as otherwise nothing happens. Be careful not to remove the blue tape before building, as you can easily damage the fan! Perhaps they need to write that on to tthe tape iteself, so you don't accidentaly remove it!It isn't as quiet as I thought it would be, buit then it does work even at setting 1, which will be useful for the nights when it is too hot to sleep, especially on my falt which is so well insulated, you cook all year round!I haven't used it much yet, but I will review again in the summer when I have used it more.

Love this thing, came just in the nick of time. What with the heat. After been let down by on online retailer we took a delivery from another who I won't name however it's a huge one who has department stores everywhere. This fan has been an absolute godsend, quiet and powerful, looks cool as well, we picked this as have cats, one of whom is into everything and didn't want sliced kitty everywhere and thus far haven't.Comes in 3 bits, super easy to get together, took less than a minute, what with the handy marked tapes on each section. Build quality it great, very sturdy. We have used this every night to help keep us cooler and it's certainly done its job.A but pricey but worth it.Thanks Dyson, you've done it again :)

Very expensive compared to a traditional fan, however the benefits warrant the extra spend. Its actually cools a room down, rather then just pushing air about, which in the hot summer days is a god send. A few friends who have seen it in action, have since bought one. It is noisy on the high settings 6+ however 1-5 are reasonable. I also use it on a timer to fall asleep too on setting 2-3 where the noise is kept to a minimum but just enough to keep the room cool. After two years, a clicking sound has developed on setting 2, the one I used at night, which is very frustrating, however I will be contacting Dyson to assist as it makes my machine less usable at night now.

I've previously used a large fan in the bedroom during the summer months but they are usually really noisy. This fan is much quieter than other models, even on the coolest setting of 10. It does still have some noise but not nearly as much. The remote control is great and I love that it has a magnetic attachment on the top of the fan so you don't lose it! The only downside (and this really isn't a downside) is that it is shorter than a standard tower fan - however, it takes up much less space and you almost don't notice it in a room which is a bonus. Overall, despite the cost, it's a great fan and Dyson customer service is fantastiic. Highly recommended.

Before purchasing the Dyson AM07 I read the reviews and saw that some issues were with the assembly and the noise but I was willing to give it a go due to the ineffiency of our existing fan. I found the assembly to be extremely easy and cannot understand how someone reviewed it as difficult! As far as noise was concerned I had it running on the highest output, 10, and could still hear the sound on the TV at the normal setting. All in all I am extremely satisfied with the Dyson AM07, although a little pricey my opinion is 'you get what you pay for'. For quality you pay a little more and this is quality compared with a lot of roducts on the market.

Because of the make and with a lack of imagination I refer to my fan as my friend Dyson. I love this fan and to me it's worth every penny. I intend to buy another one as I keep walking round with this plugging it in wherever I go. It can be a tad loud if you have it on full burst when trying to sleep. It really does cool the room and you don't have that slight hot air feeling you get with an ordinary fan. I think my friend Dyson may seem a little expensive to some but he' worth buying on take three to make it easier and he looks as cool as he works. As much as I love him, I will not be having a tattoo of his name on any part of my body.

Ok, let's get the price bit out of the way. This is stupendously expensive for a fan. BUT...it's worth every penny! It's quieter, better looking and far more effecient than any other fan I've ever bought. Our house is a new build and hence is very well insulated...too well insulated in fact!!! The fan is in our bedroom and keeps the room nice and cool at night allowing us to get a good night's sleep. The only criticism I have is that the LED speed light is too bright. This is something other buyers have mentioned and I'd urge Dyson to introduce an auto dim function so that the displays turns off after a few seconds.

We live in a new build on a busy main road. Last years hot summer meant stuffy sleepless night as we can't sleep with the noise with open windows in the bedroom. I even considered an air conditioning unit for this year. Instead, I bought my Dyson AM07 tower fan, and it has saved my life! I just keep it on number 1 speed through the night near to my side of the bed and it brings me fresh air and a comfortable night's sleep. It's so quiet that you are not even aware it's there. It has a top speed of 10 which is wonderfully refreshing. Easy to set up and control. Excellent product, which looks state of the art too!!

I bought this to use in a bedroom in the eves of the house. As the room is in the roof, it can get hot in summer and sleeping is often difficult. I used the fan throughout the summer and found it to be very quiet, even on a higher output, the oscillation sends a lovely breeze around the room, the remote control is so useful; who wants to get out of bed and turn a fan on and off. On really hot nights, I often slept the whole night with the fan on without disturbance. I can't find a fault with the fan at all, apart from perhaps it's pretty expensive, but it is worth every penny for a good night's sleep.
