Before I get to the fan, I have to say something about Fastlec, the seller of this fan. After the item was dispatched I received notification of the delivery date. That date came and by the end of the day, was changed, adding 4 more days. I have to admit I was upset, as I had already taken down the previous fan that had stopped working. I contacted Fastlec. They dispatched another fan for it to arrive the next day!!! It turns out it was not even their fault, but the shipping company's. I have to say that it is rare to find customer service like this any longer. Therefore, the first thing I would say is that, if you order from Fastlec, then you can have confidence that they stand behind their product.Now to the fan.

The picture doesn't really do this fan justice. My electrician recommended a Westinghouse fan as he says they are easy to fit & in the long run will save money with installation. Everything fits together beautifully. I put together the blades myself & the screw holes are all lined up. I watched him fit it & a great deal of thought has gone into making this fan, for example when offering this up to the ceiling there's a way that holds this on to the ceiling to allow the screws to be put in to secure it without it falling onto the floor. The remote fits into the unit perfectly. The fitting for mine took about 2 1/2 hours but this was because my light fitting had to be moved & my poor electrician had to go up into the dusty loft.

Nice looking fan,very well packed.I found the installation quite difficult,although there are very clear instructions on how to do it my 69 year old brain began to struggle after the old light was taken down and the electrics for this unit was in place.The problem I had was with the actual setting up of the fan body,quite complicated I found,so,I am now going to get an electrician to complete the install.A really good well built fan,but if your not good at DIY get a 'sparks' to do it for you.28th August and time for an update.Not so easy to get an electrician to finish the job off,so....out it came out of the box again and this time I placed all the bits on the table and had a 'dry run'

This is a really nice product, build quality is good and has an excellent finish.The other good news is that this is very intuitive to install. I had to ignore the instructions which on reflection made the whole thing look more difficult than it actually was but the little instructional stickers on the components were more than adequate.Thankfully I was able to use the existing anchor points for the fan I was replacing (6" bolts set into the joist but these had to be trimmed to about 3" to sit in the canopy) but due to the weight this really isn't something that should be skimped on. It comes with two screws and plugs but I would advise using something more robust than these.Cost wise this seems more expensive than a lot of others on the market but it's flexibility makes it worth a look.

I can't help but think that my ordering this ceiling fan is the reason for the recent unusual cold snap! This fan is lovely and I understand the weather is getting warmer again over the weekend so it will keep the room cool again! It will be good in the winter as well because you hit the reverse switch on the fan and it will circulate the warm air from your heat source in the room! There are more ceiling fans in use in homes in the U.S. and warm European countries, but at times here in the UK, the temperatures are now climbing and it is just so comfortable to be able to sit under a good ceiling fan. With high, low and off settings, you can control the air flow and it circulates the cool air in the room (or warm air in the winter).

The fan arrived and it does need fitting by a qualified electrician do not attenpt it yourself, in fact it needs building up by a qualified electrician. The attaching of the fan needs to be assessed by the elctricianfirst as these things are not universal and all are different shapes and sizes so if replacing one check first, to fix mine we had to alter the crown of the conservatory and grind away some fixings so that it would sit flat. It looks good once up works smoothly and quietly. The hanging controls are only useful if the fan is within reach they are only about a foot below the actual fan. It would have been nice if the cords and pulls had been fitted,

I have fitted the second item today. The first one arrived, packed in its own box & when opened I found one of the glass shades broken, and I suspect that it had been a returned item, and not sure of the other contents. However, the return was easily organised and a replacement received quickly. This time I found it securely packed. I followed the instructions to a point but part assembled before fitting (i.e. the light fitting to the fan contains many, many wires which are difficult to locate when fitting together; especially if you are trying this in the air.Once up, the other parts are easy to assembly in situe, and loom good and works well.

Westinghouse are widely known for the fantastic quality and long lifespan of ceiling their fans - this model certainly is no exception.Once fully assembled and installed, it not only serves the multiple purpose of a ceiling light and room fan, but it looks very smart and is aesthetically pleasing to the eye too. The high quality brass finish, and the reversible blades are all part of the charm on this ceiling fan, it really is the best of the best, and I highly recommend either this or any other Westinghouse model to you if you are considering buying a ceiling fan!The fan does come in parts and will have to be assembled and installed by an electrician,

This ceiling fan and light was bought to replace the original ones fitted in our conservatory and which were now extremely noisy and impossible to use except on the slowest speed. We bought two with the remote controls and extended poles at the same time. I can't believe how quiet this ceiling fan is! You almost don't even know when it's on. They look stylish as well. We had an electrician fit them and he didn't seem to have any problems with them. Very pleased with this product. Excellent value for money. I would highly recommend them as an effective and super quiet ceiling fan. The remote even comes with it's own wall holder so you don't lose it.

I bought this fan for our sitting room to replace a dyson standing fan as it makes to much and scares our cats. This fan is pretty much silent on full power and the cats are now getting used to it.In my opinion it is better value than a dyson fan - cheaper - quieter and it cools more space.The built is good, brass finish is great.I was worried about the electrical side of putting this up, but the read made chop block makes this very easy to install. The instructions are very well laid out (which is hard to find nowadays).I am intending to get more for the bedrooms.Edit.I am about get another 2.

The ceiling fan was fine and works very efficiently and silently cooling the room. However the radio frequency remote control which I purchased with the fan is causing problems which I have yet to have resolved by Westinghouse. It does not completely switch off the low energy LED bulbs which I have fitted - they continue to flicker which suggests there is still power coming through despite them being supposedly switched off. No reply from Westinghouse's technical people for over a month. Poor show and customer care!

Very good ceiling fan, I chose this because of the reviews and it is certainly living up to expectations! Its very sturdy, quite quiet and a life saver in the warm weather! It was relatively easy to install and comes with full instructions. It does seem like a very good build quality and looks like it will last. I've had this for a couple of months now and I've had no problems at all. The particular one I purchased doesn't have a remote control so I can't review that

Very pleased with product. Looks really good and works well (an electrician did the electrical bit). Did have a problem with missing screws, but my wife emailed Westinghouse in Germany and within a couple of days, 2 complete fixing packs arrived by DHL (free of charge). Westinghouse emailed her a response and a shipping confirmation. The European head office can't be faulted for a product produced in North Asia. Would recommend this ceiling fan/lights.

I bought this product back in August to put in our bedroom when decorated, so have only just got round to it. Very pleased with it and looks lovely. Even with the instruction manual, I am glad I had an electrician fit it, as I am sure I would not have been able to do it. Only disappointment was it came with no bulbs so had to wait until the next day to try the lights out as they take screw in bulbs and I only had bayonet. Would recommend.

Beautiful fan, and good price with 10 year guarantee. Bought for spare bedroom for wife's birthday and she loves it. Versatile because the extension rod that gives you the extra length can be left off meaning the fan sits closer to the ceiling. That's very handy for a bedroom or home with low ceilings. Coupled with the very impressive quality and EASE of installation - would highly recommend this ceiling fan/light.
