During the summer months i do like sleeping with a fan on to try and keep cool and get a good nights rest, the noise of the fans can be distracting at times especially when you struggle to sleep. This fan is as good as the write up in the product description above, it is very quiet when compared to a normal desk fan or the turbo fans i have.On the lowest two settings you get good airflow and it runs quite quietly for a fan, the lowest setting especially was good. In the past i have had my TV on in the bedroom and my old fan at the same time, the sound of the fan was so much that the TV had to be on a high volume to hear the voices. This fan, when on its first setting, means i don't have to turn the TV up to really hear whats going on. I have tried the fan in operation directly behind my laptop and I could still hear the sound on the laptop at only half volume, with a normal fan even on its lowest setting the laptop had to be set to full volume and i could not always hear the video that was playing. This also has an oscillating feature moving from side to side, it is a nice smooth motion to spread the air flow, out the box there were a few small clicks can be heard but after a while these were not noticeable. The device is stable at full power with the oscillation turned on while still remaining light weight, there is a carry point at the rear of the fan on the top as well. The fan also comes with a warning label about trying to manually force the fan into a position, from what i read it appears this could damage this function. The full power option is powerful, but i have better fans for this and the amount of noise is the selling point for this fan. The buttons on the front can require some pressure to operate and i find myself having to hold the fan while pressing them so to not push the fan away from me. The LED display for power is fine it lights the setting it is currently on only and not all 4 if on full. The fan also defaults to full power when it switches on.I give this 5* mainly for the quiet operation of the fan in its lower power settings and this makes it perfect for the bedroom or an area where you would like the fan to be as quiet as possible, the oscillation is also very good and overall this is one of the lightest fans i actually own as well.edited for spelling

Honeywell QuietSet Table Fan .HT354EThis is a smart, functional fan that does everything you would want a fan to do..It is described as a "table fan" and if that is so it is a LARGE table fan. Measuring 13" square with a footprint of about 6" x 13" it has a stable base with four small rubber feet. That for me is on the plus size for a table fan. To me it is a medium size floor fan especially as at it's highest of four speed settings it is quite powerful. It would need a very hot day to use the most powerful setting from a table top. I guess that makes it a good compromise between the two.The black plastic housing is a mixture of shiny and matt and houses a 9" fan.and from it's 6" wide base it tapers elegantly to a 2" top that has a comfortable handle extension for carrying. There is however nothing for the power lead - no clips or place to wind it up. I appreciate a self retracting lead would have been ideal but would add cost and probably price it out of a competitive band. The controls are simplicity to use. Placed along the bottom front, there are three main switches - On/Off, Oscillation and Speed. The oscillation feature is useful, fully automated and covers between 30 to 40 degrees either side of the central point. There are four speeds denoted by four blue lit panels - dark blue for the slowest and pale blue for the top. The lowest is very quiet and difficult to hear and the highest is quite powerful, obviously much louder but not unpleasantly so.It performs well as you would expect from a Company like Honeywell and carries a three year warranty should anything go wrong.. It has an elegant shape and ideal when the weather gets hot but I don't see it as a table top unit. Such a unit in black will look better as a floor fan and big enough to create the flow of air required. I believe a table top / desk top fan would be smaller and probably white - just my opinion. There is a lot to like about this fan, quiet when you want and powerful when the circumstances change. Your selection of this will depend on the aesthetics as performance is assured.

This is a largish but compact fan for those warm summer nights. It has the circle of a normal sized small desk fan but because it is square in shape and has no pedestal, it is less tall so can fit neatly onto a table top or bedside table. It works very well. I has three power settings, the highest is quite powerful and circulates the air well. It is quiet but not whisper quiet - more about that below. It stores away nicely back in the box which is not much bigger than the fan itself which is always a good thing.A few comments though which have lost it a star. First of all, as mentioned above, it is not whisper quiet. It does not have an audible rattle which some fans do, but on maximum power, which is what most people will use, it does get fairly noisy. To be fair, the motor noise is minimal but the moving blades against air resistance are going to make a fair bit of noise.More irritating than that is that fact that it cannot be adjusted in the vertical plain. This means that it needs to be balances on a newspaper or book if you are to get an angle up and down, or it can of course be placed on a higher or lower shelf. This is a bit irritating and not a problem with a conventional desk fan which can easily be angled. That said, for those warm summer evenings, this provides a quieter, compact fan, powerful enough and easily stored when not needed

For a long time I had a tower fan that loomed in the corner during the hot months bringing much needed relief, but for the winter it took an inordinate amount of space up in the shed. Finally, space was required and the tower has to go, only for a boiling hot summer to arrive. The 'Honeywell QuietSet Table Fan' may just be the solution I require as it packs a punch in a smaller parcel. When you remove the 'Honeywell' from the packaging you are instantly impressed by the look and feel. This is a very solid looking fan that comes in a luscious matte black. It is also easy to use, with simple press buttons to switch the power setting and oscillation on and off. So far, so normal. What the 'Honeywell'has as an added extra is the lower sound level. This is not absolute silence, but even at peak settings, it was much calmer sounding than my old fan.I liked the smaller size of the 'Honeywell' but although it may sit on a table, it is still a little imposing. There is also a slight issue that the oscillation does not move up and down, not a problem with a tower as it covers a large length; with a table fan you may end up perching it on some books to get the perfect breeze. Overall, a very nice and classy fan that could have perhaps had one or two small extra features to make it a must have.

This is an elegant, strong and study fan which I'm sure I will find very useful if we have a hot summer (fingers crossed). It's not heavy but the solid rectangular base means that it's much less likely to be knocked over than the pedestal fan I currently use, and the four settings mean that I can tailor the strength of the 'blast' more easily to suit my needs (my current fan only has two settings). It's very simple and logical to use (no need to read the large instruction booklet it comes with). The control panel at the front consists of an on/off switch, a button to switch the oscillation function on and another to move up through the four settings. The lowest setting is the most suitable for use at night. It's not exactly 'whisper'quiet' but I could certainly sleep through it. The highest of the four settings is pretty noisy but the high strength of the air flow would mean that you would only be using it in the hottest, stuffiest locations anyway. It's not cheap but Honeywell are an established brand and I'm sure this sturdy fan will give many years' service.

Honeywell have come up with a really nice piece of kit with their table-top HT354 Quiet Set four speed electric fan. With only three buttons it is easy to operate, it comes with a 25 language instruction book so no problem there. The billing of "Quiet Set" gave me a few qualms before I switched it on but surprise surprise it really is ultra quiet with the 20cm fan giving a very acceptable air flow. Of the four speeds the lower two are almost totally silent while setting three is noticeable only when close to the fan. Setting four is noticeable but not to the extent that becomes annoying. Honeywell say that is between 39dB and 51dB which I would guess is about right.Selecting the Oscillationbutton gives a smooth operating range of about about degrees which I found more than enough for household use. The power usage is given as 36 watts which I could not verify but if accurate makes this a frugal machine indeed. My only slight grump is that it seems to only come in black (white would have been nice).

I chose this fan as it is advertised for having a low noise level, which I am particularly fussy about, and this fan turned out to be excellent! I've been using it for a year now with no problems and nothing I would change about it. There are four intensity settings, with the strongest being the loudest but still very quiet. There is also a setting to rotate the fan and it does this without adding any noise - some other fans I've had create noise particularly when rotating but this fan doesn't have this problem.I use it in my bedroom during the hot summer months and it's definitely strong enough to keep the whole room cool.Well designed and worth the price.

If you need a quiet fan, then this really does fit the bill. on it's lowest setting (and this is still fairly powerful) it is really quiet. As you crank it up a bit though, you can hear it, but it's not really noisy like some cheap fans can be. The oscillation is really good too, the actual case does not move, it's just the circular fan bit the oscillates which is quite cool. This would be perfect for us in bedrooms on hot nights. The only downside for me is that it is a bit large for a table top fan, if it was a few inches small it'd be a bit less obtrusive. Other than that though, a very effective, nice and quiet desk top fan.

Sleek and black as a panther with a gentle growl and a penetrating breath this table fan (or floor fan) will calm the most heated of boardroom arguments or waiting room anxieties. For me it suits the décor and matches the speakers, television and dependent multi media machinery. A wicked piece of modern engineering and although not really stifling enough to be an essential item for living the days will soon be here when its oh so quiet fan will whip up enough fresh air to make any space bearable.A highly recommended item for comfort and ease in our hectic modern world

I hate background noise while I sleep so having a fan on overnight during the summer is rather irritating. This fan on the other hand on its lowest setting takes the edge off a stuffy bedroom with a noise level low enough it's almost unnoticeable. 4th Speed on the other hand provides a fair blast while not being stupidly loud. This is the second one I've bought, the first one is a few years old and still going well.

21.4.2019

Smaller than I thought when I opened the package. However it is not very noisy, its oscillation is a good advantage, it is easy to operate, light to handle, quite powerful for the size when at higher speeds and seems a robust product. Nice for small rooms. In bigger rooms it is not efficient. I currently use it in the kitchen, bathroom or in another small room. whenever necessary.

A good fan, I bought it for the bedroom so wanted a quiet one, after running in for a few weeks it does quieten down and is probably the quietest one I've owned. oscillator function slightly different to most and no tilt function.the blades are smaller than I expected therefore it runs at I high speed to move the air, good value for money.

31.1.2020

I bought this purely on reviews I had read and I was glad I did, it provides a decent airflow even on the lower settings and produces very little noise so in a small flat it works really well. The only odd thing about it is that when turned on it's at full power which I don't think I would ever set it to in the spaces I have.

30.3.2016

The noise level is impressively low considering the wind generated by this sleek table fan. While the oscillation isn't huge, it's plenty for its size since it's not meant to cool a whole room. It distributes air well without raising a ruckus, which is really all I can ask from a smaller fan like this.

26.3.2016

This is much quieter than the fan heater cooler that I use, and at its lowest setting is quiet indeed. The black matt colour is elegant. The large fan blades and oscillating movement make for a fan that can effectively create a cool breeze through a room.
