I’m so annoyed I didn’t buy this sooner. I’ve been dragging out the old faithful, cheap plastic fan, we’ve had for years. Each time something else fell off or wobbled a bit more. Last year the fan guard fell off and after nearly scalping myself and standing unraveling my hair from the blades, I promised myself I’d buy a new one this year. The price has always put me off buying a new one as it seems a lot of money for something that isn’t used very often. However, you can see why it’s more expensive and it’s worth every penny!!. I’ve paid for a very sturdy metal fan that is quiet, even at top speed. Admittedly it may still be noisier than some, but after the clanking, clicking,

Really pleased with the fan, it has got the look, good breeze, perfect size for a kitchen dinner open plan living room, as even on setting one it produce lots of breeze. The higher speed setting the louder it gets. Setting one is more than strong enough for a normal day, but too strong for a bedroom. I also got the smaller desktop 12" one, which is also brilllant, that one in lowest setting is quiet enough to leave it on while sleeping. Plastic motor cover and plastic finish in outer sleeve of the pole bothered me a bit in the beginning, but I quickly got over it as they are all in the same colour! my husband is very happy with if too! We wanted to get a fan for many years now,

I purchased the cream version of the swan retro large stand electric fan, the fan is of excellent quality & the 3 blowing settings are great from a mild wind, then to a strong blow of wind & then to a minor hurricane, putting it together was easy & to me it looks like you know when you watch an old colourful film say in america somewhere in a really nice men's barbour & shaving business & the big cream coloured fan is in the corner of the room nicely spinning around & blowing cool air to all of the over heated people in there, then this is what that fan looks like when it is in my room (i love it). If you are thinking of buying one then get it i'am glad that i did & would buy another one of i needed it.

We already have two of the 12 inch desk fans which are excellent but wanted something a little bigger for the living room.I found this simple to assemble and did not use the instructions provided until the end purely to check it was correctly assembled.The fan is well made considering the cost. It is sturdy enough to withstand the attention of an inquisitive 40kg retriever.In 26 degree (centigrade) heat in a 12ft x 17ft room it was pretty good on level 1 and very effective on level 3. Dogs were happy and so were we.Noise level is acceptable for me on level 3 but does wind the wife up a bit (win on both counts).

It arrived a day early i set it up no problem without instructions and then i found the instructions on how to set it up after i had already done it its such a poweful fan ive read comments about people saying how noisy it is well how wrong they are yes its a fan its not going to have no noise at all its about as noisy as any other fan people just like to moan, you cant please everyone. Im honestly happy with my purchase it keeps you nice and cool its only 40 odd quid its not to expensive its worth the money not to loud i advise anyone who want a cheap fan that does the job to buy this fan ?

Very nice fan. Well made. Whisper quiet. High build quality. All parts fit perfectly together, and the fan has a great retro look.Works fine in the USA with a plug adapter ($8.49).I'd buy another one, and recommend this fan highly. Only caveat, doesn't push a lot of air on the high setting, but seems adequate.Looks just like the photo. I purchased the fan from Swan Co. and they offered 2-day shipping from the UK to the US for $20. Seemed impossible to get the fan here in just 2 days for $20, but to my amazement, it arrived on schedule.

Great fan and very stylish! Before buying this product i read previous reviews and there were a few saying that the fan was not easy to put together. This is not true following the instructions given it took myself and my other half 10 minutes to put together. It's true it's not the quietest fan however it gets the job done even on level 1 it cools exceptionally well and its also very sturdy. If like me you want something that looks good even when you're not using this is the fan to choose.

This fan looks a lot better in the flesh lovely cream colour my partner put it together within 10 minutes he said it was really easy. It's very powerful when on number 3 which will be brilliant for a hot summer's day and the setting number 1 is just a nice cool Breeze it has 3 speed settings .The oscillation function works just fine and you can adjust the tilt overall the fan looks much more expensive than it is even better if you buy it now as it's on sale less than half price bargain .

looks great and very well made parts with top quality finish suitable for home decoration. However two issues. 1) the settings are fast, very fast and hurricane! Shame there is not a lower level setting as three virtually identical ones are pointless. 2) related to the last point, the fan is very noisy compared to others with larger blades and slower RPMs. I suggest to Swam that they lower setting one to half the current speed which will cure the noise problem so it can be used at night.

Review for the Floor standing model: Very nice quality and goes together easily.Fan is not silent by any means (even on lower setting) but does have a high CFM.NB the power cable comes directly out of the motor housing behind the blades so you will need to use well placed cable ties to hide it down to ground level (if you are OCD about cables like me!) Remember to leave some slack if you oscillate the fan head.

The styling of the 16” retro fan is good (cage width is 17”) . Constructing from the box was not too complicated but not helped by not too good instruction - just use some common sense & it was ok. Took me about 10 minutes. The fan is effective BUT I find it noisy & especially on fan speeds 2 & 3 it sounds like the drone of a a prop plane ? All fans are noisy though. Would I buy again .... probably not.

A little nosier than I would have liked (I found a 10 best fans article online and this was cited as the best in this price range). Very powerful - I rarely have it above 1 because that is enough. Really helpful during this on going heatwave - my dogs like to lie in front of it too. It looks good and was easy to put together - only 4 / 5 because its a bit too loud to sleep soundly through.

This fan is perfect in every way, other than the noise. We bought to go in our bedroom to get us through nights in these heatwaves we've been having as I struggle to sleep when it's too hot but even on the lowest setting it's too loud so the fan keeps me up instead.It's very powerful though so if you can tolerate the noise, or if it's not going in a bedroom then I'd recommend it

It really is a good fan and it certainly cools the room. But it needs one lower setting. We have this for our sitting room, and bought it because it's more stylish than the average fan, but it is difficult to hear the TV over the noise of the fan. It would be perfect if there were one or two lower settings. That said, it really does cool the room, and it looks great.

Really pleased with this fan. It was fairly easy to put together. Only thing I struggled with, there’s a tiny screw, which has to be screwed to bottom of fan for health & safety reasons. Well unless you have the fingers & hands of a 2 year old, don’t bother. For my own health I chucked it in the drawer. But other than that tiny little issue, I’m really pleased.
