Installed this with the optional Westinghouse Radio Frequency Remote Control (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Westinghouse-Frequency-Control-Ceiling-Fans/dp/B003U6SN14/ref=dp_ob_title_light) and it was pretty straightforward to install.It's a reasonably heavy fan so you'll need to screw the fixing plate to a ceiling joist - typicall my existing light fitting was between 2 joists and so I had to fit a solid cross bar between the joists up in the attic and attached to that.Asseembly was pretty easy, it was a bit fiddly fitting the optional remote control unit and get all the wires tucked away but not beyond an average DIY'er - unless you're one of those DIY idiots that appears on daytime TV shows where

I have ceiling fans in the lounge, bedroom and kitchen and as it happens all are Westinghouse.The kitchen fan developed a bad drone by the end of the summer season so I decided to look for a replacement. As I was redecorating,it was decided to put the nearly new fan into the kitchen and buy a new one for the bedroom.Always having an eye for I bargain I spotted this Westinghouse fan on the Amazon Warehouse Deal and as it was just what I was looking for I purchased it straight away.I find the fans easy to fit, I haven't added the remote as yet, probably will at a later date.The fan is quiet, good enough for me to have it working whilst I sleep,

Great product, bought two ofthese for my children's small bedrooms. We needed a small fan that looks good and would fit in the space available (between beams) these are great. We used them in combination with the RF controll unit and the IR controll unit. At some point will swop the IR for a RF unit in one of the fans as I personally don't like the look of the sensor on the ceiling. Bit of a fiddle to get all the wires in the housing but do-able. Unexpected plus is the dimmer switch on the unit, my son won't turn the main light off but with this I can dim it to an acceptable level for both of us.

Great bit of kit for the smaller room - ours in a Bedroom about 4m x 4m and it looks and works a treat. Paid extra for the remote - really is worth having. Quality product, very quiet and looks the part. Wouldn't bother buying anything cheap & nasty to do this sort of job.

Initially when installed there was just a hum, within a day gone. Easy to install, operates very nicely and extremely quiet and looks good. Only meant for a small room where it works beautifully.

Lovely fan, does the job. I would have given it 5 stars if the 'string' attached to the fan (to switch fan on/off plus speed control) was made of a stronger material and not cheap white plastic.

I have put this in my bedroom and recently have been using the fan due to the heatwave- very impressive.
