If you sit a bench continuously soldering components onto a board, a soldering gun is not ideal. However if you are doing work which requires intermittent soldering it is surprisingly good. I have not used a solder gun before so I find a need to get used to a different way of soldering. Psychologically a solder gun is very different to use when compared to a soldering iron. Overall I find the soldering bit very easy to keep clean thanks to watching some helpful videos on YouTube. No wet pads, or files needed. A small wire brush the size of a toothbrush works very well. One noticeable difference is the gun is much heavier than a soldering iron. The soldering thingy is very flimsy and needs to be aware of flimsiness while using.

My 30 year old Weller burnt itself out (not because the rubbish on my bench had pressed on the trigger and it was on for quite a LONG time) OK! NO!Bought a re-conditioned one from Amazon and works as well as the old one. Only change is the replacement solder tips, so the supply of older style I have will not fit the new one.

Same good quality that I would expect from Weller. This soldering gun handles everything that I need it for from repairing vintage radios to working on vehicle electrical systems. I bought one similar around 40 years ago and was in regular use until it finally died. 40 years of use isn't bad!

This is my second Weller gun fantastic peace of kit .but the con is if you are expecting all the extras what's printed on the box you will be disappointed. Could have bought it for a few quid more from another dealer and it be complete with all the items that it should have .

Bought as a replacement for my old soldering gun that gave out after many years of service.I have had Weller soldering guns in the past so it was an easy decision.Delivered in good time and well packaged.Great service and recommended

No complaints so far. Works very well, it gets to the temperature in a couple os seconds and seems pretty powerful. One downside would be that it's a bit heavy, I needed a bit of time to get used to that.

I love these soldering irons, you switch them on and off as needed. Very fast to heat up, great for anyone with shaky hands because of the gun grip. I like the weller brand.

My last Weller solder gun lasted 30 years, after too much abuse I guess it had enough.If this new lasts as long it will probably out live me.Very happy

Well worth the money used several time can’t condemn it. Brought 2 cheaper ones and both burnt out as they say third time lucky.
