I use lead/tin solder, I am not a plumber working on drinking water feeds !Lead/tin solder melts at a lower temperature, so less chance of solid state devices being damaged by overheating.Lead/tin solder can be purchased from Amazon sellers, a better choice than that needed for commonly available 30 watt irons.The mains cord is not very flexible but overall the iron does it's job.

Have used this now and found it to be good but lacking power for multiple solder joints, i.e. after the first solder joint you have to wait a minute before you can solder the next one. Other than that all okay with a nice fine point for small jobs. (This report is for the 15 watt version)

Well, i'm not using it for what it was intended for. But its perfect for what I'm using it for. Welding plastic milk bottles. this soldering iron is pretty good for this as it has low wattage. other soldering irons tend to be far to hot for this and just melt the plastic.

Was working great for repairing phones. Good heat. Not overpowering. Tip not micro enough tho. Very very fragile. Dont Put it in your toolbox. First time I Took it to work. Now Dead. Now have to buy another. Lasted ages at home tho.

It works fine, easy to hold with its larger grip handle than my previous one. I found it takes a while to heat up but once it gets to operating temperature it is fine. No grumbles.

I needed a small low power soldering iron for delicate electrical connections. This is perfect for the job. Delivered on time.

Bought this low power 15w soldering iron to rewire a tonearm with Cardas Litz 33AWG wire. Not done yet but should do the job

This heats quickly and is perfect for using on circuit boards I fin that it is an extremely useful alround tool

Very good for intricate/light work such as circuit boards. good value and excellent silverline warranty
