As soon as i saw this i ordered one and i was not disappointed. i work in electronics so i have used alot of irons over the years, i didn't expect much from a 100 pound iron but it is fantastic! it heats up faster than my soldering station and has almost as much power no problem soldering 8mm cables. it has tip temperature sensing so when it says it is ready it is ready and when it says it is cool enough to touch you can just about touch it. it has remarkable power easily enough to unsolder 16A relays and terminals blocks. the led light is handy as is the angle adjustment. batterys last a good time also. the iron is a good size and fits on the hand nicely. i can't say how much better than my gas cat it is very much recommended.

I have a few tools by Milwaukee and they do seem good quality. This soldering iron meets that quality. It's the full package including case, single battery, charger and iron. The charger does come with UK 13A plug but if it didn't I have a charger from other tools. It heats up quite quickly and does a good job on electrical soldering jobs. Comes with two tips, pointed and flat blade although I will need some more spares soon I think. Overall it feels good in the hand and does stand on the battery end to allow hands free if required. I have two other spare batteries but they are easily available if it's used all day on site etc.

Decided I needed electric soldering iron for work as gas ones just didn't seem to last long at all . I purchased this mainly becouse it came with a 3 year guarantee . The product itself is great. It gets to heat in around 15 seconds and holds the heat well . The battery lasts around a hour of solid soldering and the angle tip really helps with getting into small places . I like that it has a light on the base as it helps to see where I'm soldering. Very happy with this and I think it's well worth the 120 quid. Shame it doesn't come with a charger so idd recommend buying it with for a little bit more

Like other reviewers my iron came with a European 2 pin plug on the charger, but if you don't know how to change a plug or use an adapter, you probably shouldn't be let loose with a soldering iron.This isn't a delicate tool, and you would struggle to use it in a very confined space, but the upside is that it is very sturdy, and stands up by itself giving you a 'third' hand when working.The iron heats up in seconds, and the led lights up your work area. The safe to touch red light once turned off is a very useful feature if you need to change the bit, or want to know when its safe to pack away.

This soldering iron gets hot enough to use in under 30 seconds. It’s super quick.Great for my use, as I’m often soldering in cars on wiring looms etc, and having a cordless unit is a huge plus. The light is really handy too, as it’s hard to see what you’re doing at times, especially in cars; this negates that totally.It’s the usual Milwaukee quality, it feels solid and you know it’ll last and withstand a few bumps and rough use. Although not infallible; you should still take care of this iron as it does have long thin parts that are naturally going to be a weak point if dropped.

High quality product from Milwaukee. Heats up fast, does majority of work I require as Elec.Eng, perhaps not for very fine work or PCB as can't hold like a pen and quite heavy - this requires a fist grip.Better with a 4/6ah battery so can stand upright when not in use or cooling; better than lying down as with a 2ah battery. Would be 5* if supplied with outer slip over protection sleeve, such as I've got for my gas soldering iron.

I’ve worked in the car industry fitting accessories for 10 years. I’ve tried a few different solutions for soldering in that time. Having had another gas soldering iron start to fail again I saw this and thought I’d give it a go. I’ve had rechargeable ones in the past that have been pants so my expectations were pretty low. This one heats up in 20s keeps a good consistent heat and I get about two days out of a battery.

I usually use a portable gas iron for work, but I am a fan of milwaukee and already have quite a few batteries, so I thought I'd try one of these as a back up.I didn't really expect much, but its absolutely great, gets warm quickly and the battery lasts well.Only downside is it's size, it's quite bulky, but most of my work is on bigger cables and components so it's ideal.

Grate Product. use it on a day to day bases. very quick to heat up. compared to some gas soldering irons taking ages to get them to light up. would recommend pairing the soldering iron up with the milwaukee m12 6.0A battery as it will go throw the 2.0 and 4.0 A battery quick if your using it for a long time.

When you buy milwaukee tools you know they are going to be of great quality, what I didn't expect is just how good this soldering iron is, most of my work is auto electrical, and this time of year a gas soldering iron is useless, this is brilliant even at low temperatures outside, highly recommended.

Great product have been a bit skeptical for a few months but finally decided to purchase, I will no longer be using a gas soldering iron, no more having to wait for it to light during the winter. I use a soldering iron everyday and so far these first 2 days of use have been perfect. Why did I wait?

I use this everyday in a field service environment. Battery life is excellent but let it heat a little longer than when green light comes on to say ready to use. Especially for wires above 4mm in thickness but otherwise very happy with this product.

I said to myself, another tool that is falsely advertised and promises everything but you get nothing out of it when using it, i can now say that i was wrong and this soldering iron is a must to any electricians or whatever other trade needs it.

I have loads of Milwaukee tools as used them everyday as an electrician, so made sense to get the soldering iron. Only used it the once but solved an issue on site, so is now permanently kept in my tool bag

After my gas one packed up... I was debating buying another then I saw this, works with my existing battery's. Heats up quick and very easy to use in small spaces.
