As many others have pointed out the tip on mine corroded within just a few hours of usage, hollowing our to a very blunt, unusable device. I gave up on it then and reverted to my cheap-as-chips soldering iron that came with free with a magazine approx 20 years ago.Recently I replaced the tip for the weller and started to use it again since I had borrowed my old one to a friend and needed to do a quick job. After about 30 minutes if failed completely, refusing to heat-up.Although it is 4 years old, in real terms it has had only about 6 months of usage before it failed completely.Shame on Weller - I have a 30 year old weller in my toolbox that is working just fine,

Sold in the UK with non standard UK plug, mentioned by numerous purchasers in the past. AMAZON, make sure the supplier alters their item description. BUYERS BEWARE.

I wish I had seen the review on this item. Very disappointing that it is sold in the UK with a non UK PLUG. This should be made clear in the product description.

Good product, BUT there is no mention that it has a European plug on it, so had to purchase a an adaptor to use the soldering iron.

This does not come with a UK plug and I believe that is illegal in the Uk. Having to send it back so not happy!
