I usually wear size 11 and ordered 1/2 size up based on several reviews I read throughout various websites, just to make sure I ordered both a size 11 and a size 11.5 so that I could try both on. When I got the shoes I was somewhat puzzled because they both looked just about the same size wise, the 11.5 was just a tad larger but certainly not 1/2 size larger. I felt the same when I wore them to try them out, I hit the front of the shoes with my toes while standing when wearing the size 11, I did not hit the the front of the shoe in the 11.5 while just standing standing but I do hit it if I am walking briskly, I guess what I am trying to say is that it is not what I would have expected for an 11.5 shoe as it almost feels like I should have gone up to a size 12.

I chose the Salewa Dropline Gtx because they have all the features I was looking for and were offered here at trekkinn at an unbeatable price. The package was delivered within 3 days, which made me happy (I ordered something here for the first time). I took the shoes 1 size bigger and they fit perfectly with hiking socks. They are very light and look stylish. Now to the wearing properties: the sole is surprisingly high for an outdoor shoe at first, and I was worried that I might twist my way while walking. The first time I was worn, I was convinced of the opposite: the shoes are super comfortable - you have the feeling of walking on clouds! And the foot is very stable in the shoe.

I listened to everyone else on the reviews and ordered a half size up (11)... Mistake. Ended up exchanging and ordering my regular shoe size (10.5) and fit perfect. Maybe for people that don't intend to use these shoes for climbing then go a half size up but a finger or two of room at the end of your shoe is no bueno when you are climbing. It's a pretty narrow shoe so I could see people with wide feet having issues. But yet again it's supposed to double as a climbing shoe so somewhat expected.Haven't gone hiking in them yet so not sure of the comfort level for long hikes but I think they will do great. Will update to confirm.So far so good, they are comfortable, look awesome and will serve as a great approach/hiking shoe.

I searched and searched for a pair of walking shoes for a trekking holiday in moderately rough terrain. Eventually I was introduced to these Salewa shoes by a trained (so rare) salesman at my local branch of Cotswolds. They came up small, I'm wearing an 8 when my normal shoe size is 7. However the fit is perfect for my feet. Plenty of toe room, no heel rubbing. They accommodate my mild supination without inserts. Best of all, I have absolute confidence in their grip. During the trip we often found ourselves climbing up and down narrow rocky paths to and from rivers, for example. I was able to stand firm and help others on the path. I love these shoes, well worth the extra cost.

When my old discontinued Lowa boots finally gave up the ghost I began my search for a well constructed, supportive, and stylish low hiking shoe. I use my boots for work, hiking, and casual wear and prefer good arch support and flexible lacing. I found all these attributes and more in these Salewa Wildfire GTX boots. As my size varies from 10.5-12, depending on the shoe I ordered them in 11.5 and 11, which allowed me to compare. After selecting the 11, I've found the fit to be perfect! I can't assess them for long term service as they're new, but I'll probably order a second pair in case they're discontinued.

I frickin' LOVE THESE SHOES!!!! Period. Hard sole. Feet feel planted. Ankles have never rolled once. They clean up very easy and still look new after many wet muddy adventures. They really are waterproof. These kicks are awesome all around. One of the best things I've ever purchased - I feel these were a worthy investment.Fit is exactly my foot size. At first I tried a half size up... but they didnt fit right.. I ordered my exact foot size and they fit snug but just right. I had to try a few different lacing techniques to get the right comfort. I think my high arched feet have something to do with that.

I can't recommend these highly enough - I panic bought these a few days before a weekend of hiking and wild camping as the boots I'd purchased a couple of weeks earlier had suddenly started to really hurt whilst trying to wear them in. I had low expectations (especially as shoe sizing can vary so much and I wouldn't get to try them on) but not only did they fit perfectly, they were exceptionally comfortable throughout a weekend of hiking and scrambling, kept the water out very well and didn't even require any wearing in. I'd love a pair with more subtle colours but hey ho!

The re-configurable footbed that comes with these shoes are great. It takes a little bit of experimenting but I'm pretty confidant most foot shapes will be confortable in this shoe, depending on how you setup the insert. The waterproofing has held up very well. My only modification to the shoe was to buy some elastic laces so I don't have to lace the shoes up all of the time. The original laces are great and don't slip though if you prefer laces to elastic no tie ones.

Wow what an amazing hiking shoe!I immediately fell in love with this shoe right out of the box. It fits like no other shoe I've ever owned. I've been wearing Garmont hiking shoes for the last 20 years and found these looking for vegan hikers. And now I own 2 pair of these. The sole is amazingly grippy. The tongue has nice padding and stays in place. The workmanship and materials are sturdy and durable so far at 3 months of heavy use. Best shoes I have ever owned.

My husband picked these out during the 15% off shoe sale a while back. He normally wears a size 10 but ended up ordering these in size 11 but they were still too small and we had to return them. We both really liked the look of them and they even came with inserts for those with narrow feet. They seemed solid and well built, unfortunately the size ran small. The return was fast and painless. Would buy similar products again.

Bought these shoes and followed the reviews by going half a size up and they fit perfectly. Have only worn the shoes a couple of times and haven’t been on a long walk yet but they seem sturdy, supportive and comfortable. I really feel like I got a deal as these shoes were much more expensive everywhere else and they have gone up in price again at Amazon since my purchase. Really pleased with them.

Salewa makes some of the best hiking boots or shoes for a reason,..... they understand materials and foot dynamics to make shoe/boot that last a long time,... i usually wear them out before they fall apart and i never have gotten any blisters with their shoes or boots. Salewa wow you are one of the best out there and for that my feet and myself are grateful. Salewa your doing good work.

The Salewa Wildfire GTX is a fantastic shoe. I recently took a trip to Norway and this shoe performed beyond my expectations. I would highly recommend this shoe for anyone. The waterproofing is fantastic and it is a perfects shoe to hike the Fjords or California Sierra Nevada Mountains. I highly recommend this shoe over Salomon or North Face hiking shoes.

I bought these for a hiking trip in Canada. I also use them as track shoes when at the motor cross track. They feel great. I haven't had them long enough to say how they hold up, but I'm extremely happy with them. I was going to buy a cheaper pair and my wife told me to just buy what I wanted. As usual she was right! Don't be cheap, you pay for quality!

This shoe is the 4x4 of offroad walkiing/ hiking. If you are going off road get them , if your buying them for running or ON road use, I would think twice. They are made for Dirt, rock, wild areas. I Love them in the dirt climbing hills and mountains. Perfect. The Tread is better than the Pics heree show. I highly recommend for Hiking or trail walkiing.
