The PURINA PRO PLAN Dog Medium Puppy for Sensitive Skin with OPTIDERMA Rich in Salmon Dry Food, 3kgHere is what I thought:^^ OptiDERMA is designed for our sensitive skinned dogs for an optimum start to a healthy life for a wide range of tastes and sizes. This one is for medium puppies and made from salmon.^^ Has all the specifically designed ingredients for puppies, so it has a higher protein content for your active little ones.^^ 3 KG is a decent quantity, but don't go overboard with this. Check out the instructions of how to prepare this for younger pups and changes you should make when weaning etc.^^ Developed by Purina vets and nutritionists,so a trusted brand should know what is best for your little ones.Overall:I am happy to provide this to my dogs knowing that the brand is a trusted and reliable company and of course, it's a bonus when my dogs love it, since it is then money not wasted but indeed well spent. Don't forget, I do not give my dogs just this dry food diet and insist on a balanced and varied selection for my pampered (but well looked after) pooches.

I rate the Purina Pro Pan range very highly. They are premium dog feeds formulated to specifically meet the needs of dogs depending upon their age, build, breed and activity level. This particular formulation is targeted at puppies with sensitive skins and my experience is that it works well. One of my Newfoundland pups has been prone to dry flaky skin and small bald patches since he was about 5 months old. I had tried various (allegedly) hypoallergenic feeds, added salmon oil to his meals and used a number of medicated shampoos to counteract the problem with little success. He has also been prescribed preparations by the vet to combat a possible flea /mite allergy which didn't make a difference.I have had him on this Purina food for about 6 weeks now and there are irrefutable signs of improvement. The flaky scales have gone and he is no longer constantly scratching. I recommend this dog food without reservation if your dog has skin issues.

Top quality dog food with a decent meat content and a very good mix of nutrients and balance of ingredients, which is important for young dogs that may suffer skin problems. Used regularly we find this line of feed is great for such issues and the dog's overall on-going health. Bit pricey but when we use Pro Plan in particular, we find our dogs fill up quicker so you use less, which makes it more economical and you are guaranteed a good quality feed. We use a wide range of this 'Opti' line of products and you get good sized food chunks for whatever dog size your particular type of Pro Plan is targeted at- it's not too dry and smells pleasantly meaty- and for ease of use it comes in good, sturdy, resealable plastic bags. Never had any problems with Purina dog food and this line is an excellent one. If your dog takes to it, you're on a winner.

A three kg bag - thus it's a medium size and contains quite a decent amount - of solid dry dog food. This is designed for puppies between the weights of 10-25 kg. It's also designed to help support their immune system and give them good skin. The bag pulls open at the top. But it can be resealed to keep things fresh. In addition to being for puppies it is also suitable for gestating/lactating lady dogs. The food contains: salmon. Rice. Dehydrated salmon protein. Animal fat. Maize gluten meal. Maize starch. Soya meat. Dried egg. Digest. Dried beef pulp. Dehydrated soya protein. Maize. Minerals. Dried chicory root. Fish oil. Soybean oil.A product that has had a lot of work put into it.The seal on the bag is a useful touch. And unless your dog is really fussy, they should like it.

I have 3 whippets (2 puppies who are 6 months old and 1 older one who is 12 years old). The bag we tested was 3kg and would last the 3 whippets about three weeks. Although we supplement with meat for variety. If you did the same for 1 dog it should last about 2 months or just over. They ate the food eagerly so it seems to be a winner. It is gluten free, which may be a benefit if you've chosen that diet for your dog. There was no scoop provided in the bag. The opening is easy but restricted and makes it impossible to put a scoop in. So the choice is to cut the bag open and restore or possibly loose freshness.I usually decant my food into a plastic container so it wasn't a problem.I'd happily buy this food again.

Got these for my dog, she likes the odd dry food but struggles with the some products, they can be a bit hard for her, these I’ve found she really likes.Ignoring all the claims, as most manufacturers make the same blah dee blah claims, only a vet or scientist would be able to test these theories and it would take more than my dog to prove them. Its weather or not you dog like them or not, that’s what counts.Mine is very happy with them, slightly bigger bits than she normally has but still a good size, they do seem a little softer than some I’ve found which for my dogs a big plus. The bag is a very good size, forgot how big a 3kg bag was. There obviously a quality product, one that I’m happy to recommend

I have tried Purina Pro Plan complete dogfoods before, and have always been very impressed by the quality and efficacy of the products in the range. Purina is a reputable brand producing high quality products that I know and trust, and this food for puppies with sensitive skin completely met my expectations! The product comes in a 3kg bag, and is salmon flavoured, which my puppy really likes - so much so that there is none left! She does have a tendency to some dry skin areas, nothing major, just little patches on her tummy. I have found since feeding her this product that her skin has definitely shown signs of improvement, her coat is beautifully shiny and glossy and so I am happy to recommend this product.

Our puppy gobbled this food down but to be honest he eats most food put in front of him! It comes in a handy re-sealable bag and is formulated with salmon for sensitive skin. It also contains other ingredients such as chicory root, fish oil and soy bean oil and contains vitamins a, c, e and d and other minerals. It is formulated without wheat gluten which is good to know but I would prefer to see a higher salmon content (it contains only 17%) for this price. It is hard to tell if the 'sensitive skin' aspect works but it is good to know that this food has been formulated with this problem in mind. I would recommend this food but it is a bit pricey for what it is in my opinion!

This range of puppy food appealed to me because of the addition of salmon oils and proteins. We already give fish oil supplements to add dogs to help with joint mobility and skin health and shiny coat. The ingredients in this have been specifically designed to help dogs with sensitive skin and dandruff. The dogs love this food so it has definitely passed the taste test which is often a big concern when you were paying a lot of money for a dog food.I find this quite expensive for a dog food but I guess if your dog has sensitive skin and this works for you then it's worth it.Always make sure your puppy has plenty of water when feeding dry foods.

Pro plan has always been my puppies food of choice. I know what i put into the pups is always top quality. This food is new out! Its for a medium sized dogs so my bulldog pup is perfect as she is 11 weeks old and will be a good 22kg when fully grown. But this food is special as its for a pup with a sensitive skin. Bulldog are known for getting itchy skin and have been known to chew their paws . This results in foot cysts. The size of the kibble is perfect for the pup. If your pup isnt ready for a kibble that is hard then soak it for a few minutes in a little warm water to make it softer. Perfect food at a perfect price. Thank you.

This food was recommended by our breeder and was the food our pup was weaned on while living there. As such, to help ease the stress and upheaval of coming to live with us, we bought a large sack of the same food she was used to. She loves it, it doesn't smell too much, gives her all the nutrients she needs, and when buying in bulk like this it's surprisingly affordable. We bought a cheap cereal dispenser into which we decant some of the food pellets, just to make it easier pouring into her bowl and to keep it fresh for as long as possible.

Obtained for my daughter who has just got her first puppy. This Purina Pro Plan food for puppies with sensitive skin is ideal for puppies and young dogs who find conventional puppy/young dog foods difficult to take. The feed which is rich in vitamins and nutrients is clinically developed to help young dogs avoid scratching and reduce skin irritation. So far the young collie it is being fed to is enjoying his feed and although it is early days he is looking a lot more content and anxious.

This contains salmon oil which I have previously given as a supplement for puppies and adult dogs with itchy or flaky skin. Hard to tell on the strengtho f a few feeds if it will have the required result but the Purina brand is well known and the food well received by admittedly quite old puppy (18mth). No noticeable fishy smell. I think a lot of dog owners choose food based on brand reputation, cost and acceptability to the dog, and this one is a yes on all counts.

The puppy is larger than medium but we thought we'd give it a go and she didnt seem to mind. She didnt seem quite as keen on this as the other purina kibbles shes tried but still ate it all!. All fine the other end, no tummy upsets. Not much scratching while she was on it. Usual well designed purina bag, with handle, easy open and reseal at the top. The worse thing about the kibble is the smell (im not a fan of fish) so i reseal the pack quickly!

This seems so far to be a decent food for puppies. The pieces are a size smaller dogs can handle, and the food has not had any adverse effect on their stomach! The food comes in a nice, resealable bag, and the dogs eat it as soon as I put it out.It helps to ensure skin remains healthy too, which is great for us as our dogs can be prone to skin issues. All round a great food.
