Lifelong Complete Dog Food CHICKEN & RICE for Adult SMALL Breeds -10kgLIFELONG is another new dog food from Amazon, and it is made in Spain. This particular variety is designed for SMALL breed ADULT Dogs. My testers are my two rescue dogs. "Amber" (a 14yo Mongrel) and "Maisy" (an 8½yo Irish Border Collie). They are both outside the weight range for Small Dogs, but they are both eager to help, especially if the helping is eating!! .• Amazon has come up trumps again with this packaging. It is BRILLIANT! The food is packed in a sturdy plastic sack, which is easily opened by pulling off the protective flap, unzipping the opening of the sack and then just pulling apart the inner sealed top.Re-seal by closing the sack with the zip lock! Perfect!!• On sniffing the food it smells tasty, but it is not too strong or overpowering.• The kibble is very small flat rounds, about the size of petit pois, which is ideal for the little dogs. There is hardly any smell left on your hands and no residue, if you are putting the kibble into an activity toy for your doggy friend, rather than pouring into a bowl.• There is a Daily Feeding Guide printed on the back of the bag, which goes by the weight of your dog. This can obviously be adjusted to suit your dog as required.Dogs weighing 1-2kg Feed 30-50gr per DAYDogs weighing 2-3kg Feed 50-70gr per DAYDogs weighing 3-4kg Feed 70-80gr per DAYDogs weighing 4-5kg Feed 80-100gr per DAYDogs weighing 5-6kg Feed 100-110gr per DAYDogs weighing 6-7kg Feed 110-130gr per DAYDogs weighing 7-8kg Feed 130-140gr per DAYDogs weighing 8-9kg Feed 140-150gr per DAYDogs weighing 9-10kg Feed 150-160gr per DAY• There is other useful information printed on the bag, including the all-important list of ingredients. The information is multilingual.• This LIFELONG CHICKEN & RICE dry Dog Food has a Protein content of 27% with a 16% Fat content. It does contain cereals – Maize & Corn Protein.• These little kibble rounds have a reasonably hard crunch, to assist with teeth cleaning for those dogs that like to crunch their food. Both the dogs loved it and neither of them experienced any digestive problems – just looked for more!• The sack has a nice long shelf life with a Best Before date of 24 April 2020!!IMPORTANT - please remember that when changing over your dog's food, you need to do it gradually, by slowing introducing the new food into the old and then to gradually up the quantity of the new food, and thus reducing the quantity of the old food.Lifelong Dog Food from Amazon is good quality in my opinion. There are no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives in it. This well balanced complete food for our little doggy companions contains natural Pre-Biotics to support sensitive digestion, Glucosamine & Chondroitin to support their little joints, Biotin, Linseed & Zinc is included to assist in healthy skin & and Taurine aids healthy eyes and heart.I have no hesitation in recommending this complete dog food and neither do my testers. Neither of them had any adverse reaction to this food, they just wanted more! This is a good quality food at a reasonable price, and, a quantity that will save the owners of little dogs having to keep replacing it.

Amazon are forever surprising me with their new product lines and where there used to be just AmazonBasics, there are now so many different product lines it can get quite confusing. I've tried quite a few over the last year and have says found the products good value and very good quality. Lifelong (an Amazon brand) is a fairly new product line this time for pet dogs and cats. This review is for the 'Lifelong (Small Breeds) Complete Dry Dog Food with Chicken & Rice'.This dog food comes in a large re-sealable (with an inner ziplock bag) 10kg bag. This food is priced very reasonably at £17.89 (price at the time of review) per bag. However this is still a good quality food which has quite a few added ingredients to keep your dog healthy. It has natural prebiotics for digestion, glucosamine and chondroitin for healthy joints, taurine (which is missing from a lot of dog foods) for eye and heart health as well as various vitamins and minerals (vitamin A, D, C, E, most of the B vitamins, biotin, zinc, manganese, calcium and omega 3 from the salmon) for skin and coat. It also contains 27% protein with 16% fat content. As you can see this food is well balanced and nutritionally complete. This particular food is for the smaller dog breeds so my taster for this is our seven year old JRT Honey. As anyone with a JRT will know they can be very picky eaters. Our JRT is true to form and doesn't particularly like her own food preferring to graze throughout the day rather than eating it one go.The nibbles are round and a good size, they have a decent smell (quite meaty rather than fishy) and the daily amount for the weight of my our dog is 150g. So this sack of food should last for around two months which actually makes it a very good choice for the budget conscious. Now for the taste test...we filled our dog's food bowl with the required amount of food and called Honey for dinner. In she trotted, up to his bowl, sniffed and promptly...walked away. Oh dear, not a good start. I then had an idea, I poured some of Honey's food into one of the cat's bowls (our dog always steals the cat food). Honey went straight to the cat's bowl and woolfed the lot down, she then ambled on over to her own bowl and eat about half. I have carried on feeding our dog with this food during the last week or so and although she doesn't eat the whole bowl straight away, she does finish it quicker than any other food we've tried. We are happy to continue buying this dog food for our dog especially as we have noticed a reduction in loose stools which was a bit of a problem with other brands.

These treats are just what I'm always looking for - tasty, substantial and sugar-free! Not that I've actually tasted them - the dog's have vouched for the flavour by scoffing them down in under ten seconds! Apparently they are made from meat that's fit for human consumption which is nice to know, as some absolute rubbish goes into some dog treats. Ok, so a dog will eat practically anything but to a human these smell attractive - not overly strong and rancid like some stuff that's palmed off on us as suitable for dogs. A lot of it isn't really and causes stomach upsets and diarrhoea and goodness knows what other damage to their health in the long run. These treats are what I would call 'clean'and what's a big seller for me is the lack of added sugar. When I gave my neighbour a pack for his new dog, I told him they were sugar free and he expressed surprise that dog's food had sugar in it at all. I told him that most of it does and the difficult job for pet owners is finding food that doesn't.Now, it wasn't obvious or a selling point on the web page for this product that the treats were without added sugar but it should be. It should be more prominent, as many dog owners are like me and search in vain for healthy food for their pets. No dog (or cat) should be forced to eat sugar. They don't need it and there's no need to add it to food to make them addicted to it. Dogs are scavengers by nature and will eat anything so why would they need to be 'tempted' by sugar to make them eat their food? I suppose it's a good way for the sugar refiners to get rid of their excess sugar-beet pulp which has no other use once it's had the sugar squeezed out of it!Going back to the product I'm actually reviewing, the treats are nicely presented in a good quality seal-again bag with attractive graphics, and a window so that you can see what you're actually getting. Altogether a top quality product and, from what the dogs tell me, absolutely yummy and very, very moreish!

We change our dog food on a regular basis as our dog gets bored with the same food time and time again, this is the second time we have tried Amazon branded Lifelong dry dog food. The first time was the Salmon and Rice flavoured dog food which went down a treat, probably because our dog is quite partial to sardines and mackerel. We have a large dog that prefers a smaller kibble so this brand is ideal for him. As he is around 30kgs the feeding guide on the bag doesn’t quite go up to his weight. We generally feed him twice a day, 150g in the morning with a tin of fish and 200-250g with some homemade dog stew to supplement the dry dog food. This Chicken and Rice flavour was put in front of him andhe ate it without any issues though he’s not a particularly fussy eater.Reading the ingredients label might make your head spin. The bottom line is that it contains around 27-30% animal protein mostly Chicken with a bit of ‘poultry fat’ added in. The meat and meat derivatives come from animals fit for human consumption.Again it seems to be another win by Amazon though at full price it is competing with many of the top end dog foods. It appears to have good nutritional values. However it does contain Glucosamine Hydrochloride. Now there are some known side effects in humans who take this supplement. If you have an asthmatic dog, a diabetic dog you might want to take advice. There is also the possibility of bloating and gas.I understand from the questions and answers section that this has been formulated for healthy dogs and that the labelling states that it has been approved by vets as a food. If your dog needs a special diet you’ll probably already know that. All in all there appears to be everything he needs.

I've had a bad experience or few changing our pets' food, and know the drill - introduce small amounts, over a week or so, increasing the amount of the new food and decreasing the old. I had a bit of a job, as Bella dog wanted the food and our three cats wanted in on it, too. So far in 3 mixed meals, there's been no adverse effect: no throwing it back up, no loose poo, no farting (well, not more than usual). Bella has drunk quite a bit more than usual, but this could also be because the heating is on.The smell obviously can't be detected whilst the bag is sealed, but once it's opened and you've resealed it (there's a pretty decent zip), there is a fairly pungent odour that emanates that seems to be attractive to the cats more so than to the dog.The cats did get at some and though the kibble was big for them, they managed a few pieces quite happily. In terms of the composition? It's not the best on the market, but it's comparable to the big name brands, if not the more specialist ones. For anyone on a budget, especially if your dog takes to this as well as our weekend buddy did, you'll be happy. The only slight moan is that when Bella goes home tomorrow night for the week, we'll have to send some with her so that she can continue to get used to this, and had the food been in smaller bags, it'd have been easier and handier to transport. This large size bag means you do get a decent quantity, and you don't have to lug it home, but the whole thing won't fit into one container, and you need storage space for it.Hopefully the field mice that try to get in the house at this time of year won't be able to chew through the bag, but the scent might attract them. Oh, maybe the cats could help?

I initially bought these purely because of reviews. I usually buy pedigree when on offer or asda dental sticks both if which my boy loves. When I first gave him one of if the amazon brand ones he didn't seem interested at all until a friend popped round and he decided he was going to eat it and not let my friend have it. The next day he did the same thing. I thought he wasn't too keen on them. But... the third day as I offered it he snatched it from me. Result. Our dental stick routine is at night time after I've brushed my teeth I call him to have his done with doggy toothpaste (I'm still working with him on this). Then I tell him to go to bed and he knows a dental stick is coming.I've been using the amazon ones each night for a couple of weeks and he eats immediately. So I'm happy. I like to give him variety. My boy is a rescue who came to me with dark stains, trying to clean his teeth with paste and brush has been a slow one. Hence why I use other dental care products along with marrow bones off my butcher. There are 7 sticks in a pack, 6 packs in the box. The box is easy to open and displays what's inside. All packaging is sturdy.Gram for gram price wise the asda ones are cheaper and when pedigree are on offer they are cheaper too. But... if you like to give your pooch variety then they're worth it. They smell mildly like a beef oco cube to me.I've now just received my second order, even though I have 2 packets left and I've put them on a subscribe.I have a happy pooch. The photo is of him 2 seconds after taking it off me just now (he's having an extrs one today for the photo).

I am very wary of of trying a new dog food and always introduce anything new in small doses in addition to the normal food we give our dog . It is best to make the change to a new type of pet food gradually over a week.Making a sudden change may upset your pet’s digestive system. The ingredients describe as no additives in the way of colours or flavours or preservatives which is reassuring. This Chicken and Rice has a list of benefits for joint care and healthy skin.I am always interested in the kibble size of dog food as I once ordered a large quantity only to find each individual piece was enormous for a small terrier dog like a Jack Russell. These are all the same size and small and the samesize as shown in the photo. This is described on the packaging as made for Amazon so this gives me some confidence as a recognised brand. My dog normally eats just about anything but has in the past walked away from so called dog treats. He tried these just as a snack and ate them and wanted more of course so feel confident they will be eaten as it is a 10Kg so bigger than him.Use by date if stored in the correct conditions is 2020.It is described as a complete dog food but we prefer to give him a diet a bit more varied even though the Vet told us that dogs could not care less about different flavours.Guidance to portion size is given by weight of dog.Only seems to come in large bags of 10 and 15 Kg so if you order and your dog does not like it you have a problemPricing seems to be variable too.

The dogs loved them and even writing this review is difficult as whilst I'm looking at packet they are very excited as they want more and clearly think thats why im holding the packet. So not only do they clearly smell , taste and look great they are fortified with Biotin, Omega 3 & 6 to support healthy skin and coat, as well as enriched with vitamins and inulin to support intestinal health. whilst adding no extra sugar. there is a feeding guide as to how many strips they can have a day, and if you are one of those owners who split their treats in half its easy to do with these treats, so they can be used as training rewards too. Apparently the animal directives in the pack also comes from animal product that are fir for human consumption. But it doesn't say what animals these dertives come from which is disappointing as some dogs may have certain intolerances and some owners may have religious or environmental values that would want them to avoid buying certain animals based products. I wouldn't assume just because its called bacon flavour that the only animal derivative is pig.Box of 6 x 250 packets is currently £17.99 so about £3 pack , not overly expensive for size of packet, which is resealable too.The only draw back is that they come in plastic packets with so many plastic free or recyclable / recycled materials on the market nowadays I would prefer that these were used instead.

My dog Willow absolutely could not get enough of these!, They have a good meaty smell and i can only judge the flavour by my dogs reaction, even though they are made of ingredients fit for human consumption i'm sorry i was not THAT brave..You get 8x packs of 100g in a well designed and sturdy little cardboard box, good for if the treats are strong smelling also.As you can see from the pics she is obsessed with these little treats, although she did have a 'strong reaction' stomach wise yesterday evening that required a LOT of air freshener to combat, she's a Rottie and they do tend to have sensitive stomach's and react to most things in a similar way, her diet is James Wellbeloved-a top brand in dog food and she even reacts to that!so i wouldn't say she is reacting to anything bad in the product, just that she is her usually farty self.. and we have had no problems so far in change of toileting routine so basically is just the smell she lets off (like usual..)In one of the pics she looks like she's frothing at the mouth, this is because she needed a drink but wouldn't leave to get one while the treats were out lol.Not a bad price when taking into account the amount and the ingredients. My dog says oh yes to these treats so i have to recommend lol.Arrived promptly and very well packaged in a handy cardboard box.

The first thing that struck me over this new Small Breeds Lifelong food from Amazon was that the bag is so well designed. There's an easy to use zip lock built in so that you can easily open and reclose the bag, keeping the contents fresh. I'd have expected that in more expensive bags, so well done to them. The food itself is in small round 'pebbles', like mini minstrels, and seems to be easy to swallow. The smell is fishy and smells natural, which is a good sign. Looking at the ingredients on the 3KG bag, there's a minimum of 5% Salmon, but also supplemented with at least 18% Chicken as well and no artificial ingredients. Rice,, Maize, Poultry Fat and Corn Protein make up the other main ingredients, with added vitamins and minerals, all of which are listed in an easy to read format on the packaging.I have 2 very different dogs, one fussy and one who eats everything and anything. Thankfully, both enjoyed this Lifelong food over the time that we fed it to them (introducing gradually so as not to upset their stomachs). That's always a good sign. They've been fine with it, too. No issues after eating this and both seem content. So certainly recommend this to owners of small breeds, Amazon have done really well to come up with a good food at a good price here.

There's seems to be thousands of dog foods out there these days; gone are the times when you would roll up to the supermarket, grab a pack of pedigree chum and the job was done.Of course now you make the choice between wet and dry and any number of different products with different ingredients and different aims once you've made that choice.Lifelong was not a name I'd heard of/tried before but it seemed to tick all the right boxes with it's natural ingredients and all that. I've two cocker spaniels; one fussy, one not so fussy. This had a bit of a stronger smell than I'm used to when scooping it out of the packet but not overpoweringly so and not offensive. The unfussy dog tucked straight in; the fussy one did his usual trick of checking there was nothing more exciting on the work tops and then tucked in himself.Using for a few days there have been no ill effects and no problems as a result. They're still tucking into it so it's obviously liked. It's all personal preference with dog food and other than not wanting to get the cheapest of the cheap I'm not one with any great leaning towards feeding my dogs a particular brand. They enjoy this, there's no ill effects and it seems good value so I'm happy to feed it to the Baskervilles!

Both our dogs enjoyed these chicken mini dental chews much more than their usual brand, which delighted me as they are much cheaper. The ingredients compare very favourably, and amazingly, are fit for human consumption, which I've never before come across with pet products. I'm not going to try them though. Don't think my teeth are up to it. The 8 pouches arrived attractively packaged in a sturdy cardboard box and are resealable and recyclable. These are low in fat (at 2.7%), which is always sensible for treats, and have a moderate amount of protein at 18.5%. They contain kelp seaweed which contains vitamins and minerals, and citrus fruits to provide bioflavinoids, and apple for anti-oxidants.They are grain-free and for adult dogs only. One stick per day is recommended, so each of the pouches will last one dog one week. There are other treats in the Lifelong range: strips and bones, and dental chews for medium & large dogs. One of our dogs is prone to plaque and they both get fishy breath (due to their diet) but dental care is an on-going treatment, so it's too soon to tell how effective these chews will be, but we like the price, the dogs like the flavour, and I'm very impressed by the healthy ingredients.

This pack of 6 mini rings for dogs' treats live up to their name. I tried them out on 2 dogs, one a mixed breed and one on a golden Labrador. Both reports on these treats came back the same, 'The dog loved them'. The mixed breed ate them for its food and was delighted and also has some saved as only treats and was very happy. The Labrador was the same, in fact, they only give it to her as treats as most Labradors are only focused on eating and would swallow it all down in a mouthful normally. Anyway, I am told she eats these treats rather carefully, then asks for more. So the product is very successful on the dogs I have tried it out on. The manufacturer lists the make up of the treats as including Protein 20%,Fat 10% + Inorganic Matter, Moisture, Crude Fibres and Energy 295 per 100 grams. They also contain probiotics and poultry. The treats are meant to be easy to chew for sensitive teeth and gums and enriched with vitamins and minerals. The pack in which the treats come is attractive with a picture of a laughing collie on the front. The price over £2 per sachet is not too high. These are healthy to chew and dogs appear to love them.
