Our Westie was weaned on to this and so we've kept him on it. He eats 180 grammes a day in 2 feeds at the moment so a 4kg bag lasts just under a month. This will obviously vary with individual dogs but there is a handy guide printed on the rear of each pack. It doesn't have the bone dry texture of some kibbles, and keeps well for a few hours in the bowl should he decide he isn't hungry just yet. It also isn't the worst smelling dog food available. He does drink plenty of fluids with it still so make sure to have fresh, clean water available at all times if feeding this. Our puppy has good poo texture with this food too. Not necessarily something you wish to read in a review but, and trust me on this one, very important when cleaning up afterwards. The individual biscuits are quite small and soft so are perfect for young teeth and a few can be kept in the pocket whilst training and used as treats. The ingredients aren't the worst, and are certainly far better than some well known brands, but this is still mass produced kibble so don't be fooled into thinking it's as good as it gets. No worse than feeding your kids the odd portion of chips in any case. (Waits patiently for the health nazis to jump all over him for feeding kids anything other than lentils and broccoli.)With the biscuits being small they fit nicely into a snack toy which can help to alleviate boredom for your pet if you have to spend a few hours away. Remember to reduce the amount you feed if using one of these though otherwise your little friend could end up looking like a four legged version of me. Not good.So in summary, a complete food for your puppy which has a good texture, good biscuit size, doesn't make your house stink, and can be used for treats during training.Update:- our Westie has been eating this for 8 months now and still seems to like it. We've reduced the amount we feed him slightly as per the feeding guidelines on the pack and the fact that he gets the odd treat. He is fit and healthy and has recently had a check up at the vets which he came through with flying colours. Buying the 8kg bag from Amazon has proved to work out cheaper than we can buy it in the shops too, and is delivered too.?We'll definitely use the Royal Canin food for an adult dog in the next few months.

Amazing product! My 4 month old yorktese(yorkie x maltese) absolutely loves this food.We were given bakers complete puppy food from the breeder but he didnt like it much and it wasnt very healthy either. So I decided to feed him iams because ive heard positive reviews about it.I started mixing in a small amount of iams with the bakers but it turned out I had to throw out most of it because he wouldnt eat alot of it.My poor guy became quite sick after a few days so before I turned to the vets I got Royal canin for him.He ran straight to his bowl and ate everything. He was so happy and energetic and he was back to himself the next day.I couldnt be more delighted with this food.I 100% recommend itto everyone out there looking for a healthier choice for you puppy!

Starring is according to my Yorkshire Terrier puppy who is very fussy. Initially she wasn't keen and I thought she would prefer Pedigree Puppy as that was her initial diet after weaning. I had to give them away. I tried the Royal Canin again and she warmed to it a little. I tried another good dry product but she hated that....back to the Canin. I persisted otherwise I knew this could go on and on and now there is always a bowl of it available and she munches away happily as the mood takes her and in the evening she has a little liver and chicken. Problem now resolved. Give it a few weeks and I think the star rating will be a five. Excellent product and as a for the cost,a little expensive perhaps but definitely worth it. Just ordering my second bag.

Royal Canin is the food my vet recommends for dogs and is actually sold at my veterinary surgery.I have been feeding Royal Canin mini Junior to my 7 month old Jack Russell Terrier since I had him at 7 weeks of age. He absolutely loves it and never leaves a single kibble. It's perfect for weight control as you can easily weigh this food and change the amount you give your dog accordingly. As a complete food, it has everything in it that your dog needs. This food can easily be put into bordem buster toys as well to keep your dog entertained.Buying the 8k bags from Amazon is a lot cheaper than buying it from my vets or local pet shop. If you want the best food for your dog at a price you can afford,Royal Canin is the one!

The smell. Usually dog food smells gross but this smells actually pretty tasty. As for the taste - ah no, I haven't actually tasted it, delegated that to the dog, but he gives it the thumbs up (well if he had thumbs). Never seen him spit this out. So, seems to taste good. Not in the league of ham, chicken or cheese obviously. But still. The poop - my ideal dog poop would be one that leaves the dog in one controllable movement, is firm, brown, and of course jumps itself straight into a waiting dog poop bag folds itself in before making its way to the bin. OK it doesn't produce the dream dog poop, but the poop is firm, brown, and generally everything you'd expect from a decent dog poop.

Fantastic dog food for a puppy. Tiny pieces are superb for small mouths and tiny teeth, and it is easily digestible. We intermixed this with the food our breeder had used for puppy, slowly reducing the amount of previous food and increasing the Royal Canin by degrees. The result is no diarrhoea and a happy healthy puppy with a shiny coat and lots and lots of bounce! One of the good things about this food is the container, it seals up after use and keeps the food fresh !My older dogs were fed on this as puppies, and when they were of age (12 months) they went onto the adult version of royal canin, and have no issues whatsoever. Highly reccomended!

My Cavalier puppy loves this food, He was raised on it by his breeder and it has done him the world of good. He is putting on the correct amount of weight and I'm following the easy feeding guidance on the packet. What's better is that he's not getting bored of this food by any stretch of the imagination. He pines for it when I'm getting it ready and knows the smell. It is complete value for money and clearly a very well balanced formula, my pup gets everything he needs from it and then some.Totally worth the money and I will continue to buy this until he moves onto adult food. Faultless.

By all accounts, my 5 month old Cavapoo loves this stuff. Well, she gets through enough of it anyway so I can only assume this is the case!Seriously though, I'm so glad we've got a dog who eats dry food like this rather than dog-meat. (and although it's dry food, it's certainly not bone dry, and definitely has a reassuring moist feel to it).It actually smells nice, kind of a bit like marmite? I might do a taste-test soon and report back.I buy it using the 'subscribe and save' option to save 10%, which makes it cheaper than pets-at-home, and I don't have to drive there to buy it.

My two beautiful dogs Xander and Rocco, love this dry food, till I got Rocco, 7 weeks ago, Xander wouldn't eat ANY dry food whatsoever. He loves this dry food, and eats lots of it now, along with chicken ect.It arrived in record time, I was a bit worried, I needed it for Christmas, it came within 2 days, I will certainly be re ordering it again. My dogs are a Shih Tzu, and a Shih Tzu Pug cross . . . a Pugtzu, he is sssoooo cute, and clever, a baby brother for Xander, 17 months old.Don't hesitate to purchase this variety, and excellent service, thrown in.

as a breeder of miniature shih Tzu I find royal canin the finest dry food on the market. I use the mini puppy junior for puppies and pregnant mummies and our beautiful stud boy.we use royal canin shih Tzu for the others. the poo,s are lovely to pick up and they maintain weight perfectly on it. puppies love it soaked to start then gradually introduce hard in a separate bowl until properly weaned.thier coats are stunning and energy levels optimum. I highly recommend it..weizinying miniature shih Tzu.

I can't think of much to write about this, other than it's great value. As is always the case in life, the more you buy of something, the cheaper it is.The one issue I'd have is that the 8KG bag doesn't have a zip sealable top like the smaller bags do. Not really a problem though - I just cut a corner open and seal it back up with a clothes peg when I've put some into the dog food container. This stuff actually smells nice too, and I admit to taking a quick sniff sometimes ;D

This was the 4th brand of puppy food I tried to get my puppy to eat, finally, she is galloping to her bowl and wolfing it down. l was put off it at first as some people had given the ingrediants bad reviews. However, she just wouldn’t eat any of the brands that claimed to be wholesome and grain free, she kept just sniffing it and walking away. But more importantly for the poor cat, she is no longer doing a smash and grab of her Royal Canine cat food, every time I turn my back!

My puppy's breeder had started him on this food so that's what we kept him on. It's a perfect size for tiny mouths and teeth to manage. If they are feeling off their food for any reason add hot water and feed while still warm they will always eat it this way. Just had to watch my other dog as he'd much rather have the puppy food if he could. 4Kg size lasted probably a little too long though. Would recommend this size if you are feeding more than one pup.

expensive but the dogs love it, I don't suppose I should let my elderly dog eat puppy food, she refused the adult older dog stuff years ago but loved this puppy kibble with a real passion and as she has been off her food for a couple of years and very diffult to feed I suspect a little of this will do no harm- she has few teeth and the size of the kibble is suitable for her small mouth. The puppy likes it too-rather expensive but it does get eaten

When I got my puppy the breeder had been using Burns. I use Royal Canin for my cats so did a 50/50 mix. After a week or so, my dog started sorting out the biscuits and was dumping the bigger burns bits out of the bowl and onto the floor so that he could eat the Royal Canin first. That told me all I need to know about what the dog prefers. The pieces are really small and I think that they make excellent treats for any size of dog.
