I've always fed Royal Canin to my Springer, first medium junior and now adult, the kibble is crunchy and a nice size, it is easily digested and I am sure promotes a healthy coat. I moved away from it once thinking there can't be that much difference in dry dog foods!.?, the brand was well known but less cost, however that was my biggest mistake as anyone who has a springer will know they don't need much encouragement to be loopy lol, however after only a few days I noticed a big difference in his behaviour, I was nearly peeling the dog off the walls, he was hyper, wouldn't settle and even after a long walk still paced constantly even though I had introduced the new brand gradually he also hadvery loose stools.I quickly ditched the new brand and didn't reintroduce Royal Canin gradually as you should as it couldn't get worse, I just started feeding it twice a day as before and within a week he was back to his normal self .. Well as normal as a springer can be :-). He's now nearly 6 and I am always being complimented on the condition (shine and softness) of his coat, his weight never fluctuates and he has healthy teeth, gums with little sign of tartar. For me and Oscar Royal Canin is the best as it gives him all the nutrients he needs, his digestion system is stable and he is a happy and healthy dog.As for cost ..... when I have that debate with people who feed wet or other brands when worked out that a 15kg bag lasts 76 days (for a dog of his weight) that's 48p per day and there is no way with wet food or another dry quality food could I do that for 48p, so not only is it the best in my opinion but it's also cost effective in the long run. The only time I would move away from Royal Canin adult would be if they introduced a specific breed kibble for English Springer Spaniels.

I have three Chihuahuas and have bred them too which has resulted in spending years (and so much money) experimenting with different brands and types of food and I am so happy to have found the perfect food for them.I've had so many problems with buying food over the years. So many brands of food are food advertised specifically for small breeds or puppies but often contain huge kibbles which are totally unsuitable. These kibbles are the perfect size, they're around 5mm wide and around 2mm deep so are great for even the smallest dogs- my mum's adult Chihuahua weighs just over 2lbs and eats these with ease. You can add boiling water to the dried food which turns it into a porridge-like consistency which is perfect for weaning and is also great for if dogs are ill.My oldest Chihuahua had to have some dental work done and this was perfect for when her gums were healing.I realise Chihuahuas are fussy (especially having owned Springer Spaniels which would eat anything) but I am still pleasantly surprised when mine finish their portion having spent years throwing away food they refused to eat. It is the only food which I've bought which has never resulted in diarrhoea producing small, firm stools.Ideally I'd love to feed my dogs an organic or raw diet with no chemicals etc but it's inconvenient, very expensive, difficult to buy and store and often leaves a lot of waste. The kibbles hardly smell at all, even when served wet which is great and I've bought a Maelson Dry Box Food Storage Bin, 7.5 Kg from Amazon which holds an entire bag which is very helpful.I feel like I could say so much more but I've already written quite a lot. Hopefully this helps someone save time and money trialling dog food.

In my hunt for a decent, affordable mixture of food as a dog handler I have used Royal Canin Maxi several times and again I have found myself using it again! It is admittedly out of what I would call "affordable" and this is probably the reason I will continue my hunt however you get what you pay for. The smell is rich, the texture is fair and the absorbency is on a reasonable level... I'd question the amount they actually recommend feeding but remember I do use a wet and dry mix and above all the dogs love it. No problems with a gradual or a rapid change into this product only that they are a little fussy to eat it to start with and only eat half. But I put that mainly to the change innsize of biscuit that usually occurs for me as I tend to use smaller sized biscuit usually and I am sure Royal Canin do a smaller size but at a slightly higher price.. I'm not sure I really should check though! The dogs stools are healthy and as an added bonus witch I really look out for and Royal Canin have perfected is the rich oilyness when you feel the biscuit. Anyway a few weeks and they can't get enough of this biscuit. I would highly recommend looking around for prices on this product and if your budget allows then you can get some real decent deals on bulk buys. For smaller dogs I've found Vets Kitchen is exceptionally good however it is very pricy and for some reason they don't seem to sell large bags I think their largest is 11kg or something. Check them out but for a similar quality at a slightly lower price.. And more options on amount and bulk deals.. Royal Canin is the way to go don't let the price put you off!

I've been thinking for some time that I did not have enough dog poop in my life. The garden was looking bare and boring, and when out for walks in scenic areas or shopping in town I was missing the bend at stretch workout. Something had to be done. Having thoroughly researched the issue, I worked out that what I needed was some sort of edible substance and a dog. As per the picture on the product, I had assumed that a dog would be supplied with the product. Be warned: this is not the case. It does not come with a dog of any description. You will need to get a dog separately. However, these are readily available (you might even be able to borrow one) though it does bump up the price overall.Having managed to source a dog, we got going straight away. I have to say, its worked a treat. I would say somewhere between 10 and 15 minutes after enthusiastically ingesting the product the dog 'performed'! Glorious. I would say if you feed according to the instructions you will get at least three, and if you're lucky, four, dog poops a day. Well formed, easy to pick up. And this big bag means there will be no shortage of dog poop entertainment for quite some time!

Highly recommend! Good quality, good value for money compared to high street/ pet shop prices. I have been using James well beloved which my dog has eaten, but not loved. Her coat lost all its sheen and was not overally impressed. She was on Royal canine as a pup, overtime decided to change to try something different. I came back to this brand and as soon as I got it through the door, she was a happy dog. She loves this dog food and it has a good amount of protein in it, not just cereal and ash. Gentle on dogs tummy and bowl movements are always solid, nothing worse than trying to pick up after a dog with a upset tummy!I've been using it over the last week with slowly weining her off herexisting food so that she doesn't get a upset tummy. Her coat already is looking in better condition and getting the shine back. Also the 15kg bags lasts a long time too ! I will not be changing again, Royal canine is definately worth buying,it might be a bit more expensive but in my opinion worth every penny!!!£36.99 for 15kg vs £9.00 for 2kg of James well beloved. Not really a expensive option to me. You won't be disappointed with this product.

My little westie always used bakers since the beginning, however when she became over weight the vets said we had to switch her to a different brand of dog food, as bakers is the worst thing that you can feed your dog. We soon bought the food from the vets however this ended up being way over our budget so I went to pets at home which was over out budget too. However on amazon there is always discount and deals which makes royal canin more affordable. My little westie now has the shiniest coat ever! She always polishes her food quickly due to the scrumy Taste. I would never change her to a different brand ever again... It's worth the money if you want your dog to eat healthy! She isn't over weight anymore and seems like a much happier dog and another bonus is that royal canin doesn't stink as bad as other brands.I recommend royal canin to all my friends and family members, who have dogs as it is amazing.

Royal Canin is the food my vet recommends for dogs and is actually sold at my veterinary surgery.I have been feeding Royal Canin mini Adult and Royal Canin mini Junior before that, to my 22 month old Jack Russell Terrier for over a year now. She loves it and never leaves a single kibble. It's perfect for weight control as you can easily weigh this food and change the amount you give your dog accordingly. As a complete food, it has everything in it that your dog needs. This food can easily be put into bordem buster toys as well to keep your dog entertained.Buying the 8k bags from Amazon is a lot cheaper than buying it from my vets or local pet shop. If you want the best food for your dog at a price you can afford,Royal Canin is the one!

I came across subscribe and save by accident but it has proved to be an excellent service. It is very convenient - I receive notification prior to dispatch and can cancel or postpone if I wish. The price is very slightly higher than when I first subscribed but is still below the cost from other internet providers with delivery cost inclusive. With other internet providers you often have to buy a minimum amount in order to obtain free delivery - not always convenient to do. So as a service I definitely recommend it.My toy dogs all have Royal Canin from weaning - the kibble is small eough for them to eat without difficulty and they seem to enjoy it which is very important of course.

Arrived well protected,Nice small bites for my 3 small dogs,My Yorkshire Terrier is a fussy eater and loves the taste so much he goes after the other dogs food too,I have a Shtzu cross and the bite size is just right for his mouth as his lower teeth are outside his mouth he finds the larger pieces hard to pick up,As for my Jack Russell cross he would eat one day then not the next , till I put this down to him , now he eats whatever time he wants and loves it..Thankfully I don't have to get 3 different bags for them , this sees them through 3-4weeks and they eat when they want to..they are 3 very happy doggies ??? which makes me very happy too ?

I have a two year old large breed dog who was growing up but not filling out, I changed him onto this food and soon started to see a difference in his weight, he's quite a fussy eater but always eats this even when it's just dry with no meat. His weight and condition has greatly improved and he now looks as be should. I feed three smaller meals each day.His stools are always firm which is always a good sign that the food suits him and is easily digested.I highly recommend this food, it's good quality and quite competitively priced for a premium brand complete food.Free next day delivery for prime members is a big plus too

My Standard Schnauzer has been on this since the breeder gave me some with her puppy pack. She is now 20 months old and in fantastic shape with a lovely glossy coat and no oiliness or other skin problem. Also, the waste she produces is minimal for a dog her size. Her teeth are perfect too, with no visible tartar. This food is quite expensive but I feel it's worth it as I tried a couple of times to convert her to something a bit cheaper but she always seemed to suffer from terrible wind - and we suffered too!! anyway, I've managed to save quite a bit of money buying it on Amazon so I'm going to stick with Royal Canin.

Have a very fussy little pug X dog who would turn his nose up at dry food especially., but I wasn't certain his regular food was good enough for him, after speaking to the vet, they recommended Royal Canin for small dogs, still wasn't convinced so read previous reviews for this product and they convinced me to give it a try. Ordered the 2kg size initially and he loved it., as did my other dog. Have noticed that his coat is now glossy, less mess in garden and sweeter breath. Obviously have now got the 8 kg size. Yes it's pricey, but less so on the Internet and delivered to your door. Would recommend this product

The subscription service is excellent. It's a very good product which i can buy in my local pet store but it is so much dearer, so when I founf this 4kg bag for just a few pounds more than a 2kg I was so chuffed and subscribed right away. You get lots of control on your order and can specify how regularly you want it (you only have to get 2 a year to qualify for the discount, which is a great deal) and you can order extra earlier if you want to.Packaging was really good, and free delivery it really really doesnt get any better. Thanks guys for such a great value service. I would thoroughly recommend to all.

18.11.2016

Our Jack Russell loves it, his coat is silky smooth, his teeth stay clean and his weight is well under control. The product is great and I have previously always purchased from Amazon but this time I was disappointed when I came to reorder to find that Amazon UK have increased the price to non prime members. As I refuse to pay for so called premium benefits which I neither want or need I have ordered from elsewhere, with free delivery at the same price as Amazon are offering to prime members. It is very unlikely that I will be reordering from Amazon while the current two tier pricing structure is in place.

Looking around for something that my 2 dogs would like as my youngest dog is such a fussy eater...having had my dogs on other brands and realises what ingredients some dog food manufacturers put in food which can give dogs bad itchy skin I decided to do some research..Amazon have priced royal canine so much cheaper than competitor's that I don't bother looking around anywhere else, it's since gone down in price again so I've ordered another 8kg in mini adult for my 14th month old maltipoo and 14 year jack russell as she needs building up because of having a terminal cancer.
