This particular variety is designed for SMALL breed ADULT Dogs. My testers are my two rescue dogs. "Amber" (a 14yo Mongrel) and "Maisy" (an 8½yo Irish Border Collie).They are both outside the weight range for Small Dogs, but they are both eager to help, especially if the helping is eating!! .• Amazon has come up trumps again with this packaging. It is BRILLIANT! The food is packed in a sturdy plastic sack, which is easily opened by pulling off the protective flap, unzipping the opening of the sack and then just pulling apart the inner sealed top.

Amazon are forever surprising me with their new product lines and where there used to be just AmazonBasics, there are now so many different product lines it can get quite confusing. I've tried quite a few over the last year and have says found the products good value and very good quality. Lifelong (an Amazon brand) is a fairly new product line this time for pet dogs and cats. This review is for the 'Lifelong (Small Breeds) Complete Dry Dog Food with Chicken & Rice'.This dog food comes in a large re-sealable (with an inner ziplock bag) 10kg bag. This food is priced very reasonably at £17.89 (price at the time of review) per bag. However this is still a good quality food which has quite a few added ingredients to keep your dog healthy.

We change our dog food on a regular basis as our dog gets bored with the same food time and time again, this is the second time we have tried Amazon branded Lifelong dry dog food.The first time was the Salmon and Rice flavoured dog food which went down a treat, probably because our dog is quite partial to sardines and mackerel.We have a large dog that prefers a smaller kibble so this brand is ideal for him. As he is around 30kgs the feeding guide on the bag doesn’t quite go up to his weight. We generally feed him twice a day, 150g in the morning with a tin of fish and 200-250g with some homemade dog stew to supplement the dry dog food.This Chicken and Rice flavour was put in front of him and

I've had a bad experience or few changing our pets' food, and know the drill - introduce small amounts, over a week or so, increasing the amount of the new food and decreasing the old. I had a bit of a job, as Bella dog wanted the food and our three cats wanted in on it, too. So far in 3 mixed meals, there's been no adverse effect: no throwing it back up, no loose poo, no farting (well, not more than usual). Bella has drunk quite a bit more than usual, but this could also be because the heating is on.The smell obviously can't be detected whilst the bag is sealed, but once it's opened and you've resealed it (there's a pretty decent zip), there is a fairly pungent odour that emanates that seems to be attractive to the cats more so than to the dog.

I am very wary of of trying a new dog food and always introduce anything new in small doses in addition to the normal food we give our dog . It is best to make the change to a new type of pet food gradually over a week.Making a sudden change may upset your pet’s digestive system.The ingredients describe as no additives in the way of colours or flavours or preservatives which is reassuring.This Chicken and Rice has a list of benefits for joint care and healthy skin.I am always interested in the kibble size of dog food as I once ordered a large quantity only to find each individual piece was enormous for a small terrier dog like a Jack Russell.These are all the same size and small and the same

It is designed for smaller breeds.Nutrition.It has a high meat content (chicken in this case) with added vegetables and ingredients to help with joints and coat health plus a range of essential vitamins. The nutritional content is very good and well balanced.Feeding.It is quite economical to feed and instructions are provided on the pack about feeding etc. Water must always be available when using dry food.Tate test.Our Jack Russell enjoyed it and was asking for more – not unusual!

The first thing that struck me over this new Small Breeds Lifelong food from Amazon was that the bag is so well designed. There's an easy to use zip lock built in so that you can easily open and reclose the bag, keeping the contents fresh. I'd have expected that in more expensive bags, so well done to them.The food itself is in small round 'pebbles', like mini minstrels, and seems to be easy to swallow. The smell is fishy and smells natural, which is a good sign. Looking at the ingredients on the 3KG bag, there's a minimum of 5% Salmon, but also supplemented with at least 18% Chicken as well and no artificial ingredients. Rice,, Maize, Poultry Fat and Corn Protein make up the other main ingredients,

This isn't a top notch dry dog food, but the composition seems better than average - with a reasonably high meat content, at least 18% rice and a small quantity of vegetables. The little kibble pieces are small enough to be managed easily by my miniature dachshund. The food comes in a medium large sack, with a resealable zip lock closure. Unfortunately, my dog just doesn't like this meal - she sniffed at it suspiciously, eventually deigned to eat a bit but after the first piece she simply refuses to touch this. We tried introducing competition in the shape of my brother's dog (a King Charles/Black Lab cross), who absolutely hoovers the stuff up - but she simply didn't care.My brother's dog is a larger breed than this particular version of the food is intended for,

This Lifelong - Complete Dry Dog Food kibble for small dogs contains all the good nutrients any dog should have . I won't list them all (you can check the Amazon listing) but importantly it includes Glucosamine and Chondroitin for joint care, taurine, zinc, linseed ( a good source of omega 3) and all the essential vitamins. It claims 18% meat meal and 5% real meat (chicken) which is by no means at the high end of the content you can find elsewhere in the market. But then its not the lowest either. The kibble pieces are not too small which I like. That means there's something for our jack russell to crunch on. At just under £18 for 10kg this kibble represents very decent value.

No matter what is in the food you give your pooch, if he/she doesn't like it then it's a no go.Charlie our cockerpoo is fussy and at times just plain awkward. So when the chance came to try these we thought, well let's see if Charlie likes them or not. The first time he had them he wasn't sure - he ate a few and left the rest. The following day, after a good walk, he seemed to like them and ate them all. On the proceeding days it was a bit yes one day and no the next. To be fair, this is normal for Charlie so we needed to try someone else. A friend's cockerpoo nearly took my hand off when offered a few, so for her a huge yes. Then we tried taking some out and trying on a couple more dogs and they seemed to love them too.So to sum up,

I have a VERY finickity toy dog who has been on Royal Canin XS dry biscuits until now, at huge expense. I decided £10.99 was worth the gamble, and ordered this in the chicken version. To my surprise, she liked it, so I slowly introduced it alongside her regular food over about a month. Then when I went to reorder another bag, intending to move my dog completely over to this, it was out of stock. This was infuriating. Instead I ordered the Salmon version, and am crossing my fingers that she will like it, and that it won't upset her digestive system, and that she won't smell fishy. Fishy dog licks are vile. On the plus side, this is 2/3 the cost of the Royal Canin,

Dogs eat dog food. A hungry dog is no connoisseur. Facts.Another fact... no dog owner spends hours perusing and googling the ingredients of their dogs food. Most of us don’t even do this for our own food.So if the dog eats the food, does that make it good food? Well, no because dogs being dogs eat pretty much anything.Here is a tip, just look at the meat content of the food.In this case the packet contains 18% of chicken meat meal. Chicken meat meal is ground up chicken meat that’s been dried. Not necessarily a bad thing, the water is removed and the protein remains.There is also 5% chicken in the pack so that gives us 23% meat.That’s above average.And my dog likes it (see above)

I have a cavalier King Charles, so I opted for the small breed version. The pellets are perfect in size: not too big, not too small. They're also nice and crunchy. The nutrition side must be okay as my dog hasn't had any health problems, but what I did notice was that her fur was visibly softer and shinier, it's an even bigger pleasure to stoke her! She seems to like the taste too as she has never refused to eat it (she has done so in the past with other brands).I appreciate the large size bags, because I don't have to bother restocking so often and since they get delivered, I don't break my back carrying them from the shop!

Amazon Brand Lifelong for small breed dogs.....My little dogs like the pouches with gravy a lot more than the pouches in jelly. For the price these are excellent quality and recommended especially for multi dog households like ours (7 rescue dogs) The contents smell delicious and my littlest dog who has a wheat allergy is absolutely fine eating lifelong pouches as the only grain in them is maize (that amazingly tall swaying sweetcorn plant you see growing in fields everywhere and made into mazes your children can get lost in lol! :-) This natural plant is also in the children of the corn movie!

Still picking my jaw off the floor! I have 3 small to medium dogs who only eat biscuit dog food reluctantly. I only ordered this because panic buying emptied the pet food shelves but I’m genuinely pleased I’ve given them a go. As soon as the bag was opened the youngest was dancing in front of me and the more sensible older two were wagging their whole bodies in anticipation. They literally scoffed them down, not coming up for air in case someone else tried to eat their breakfast. Well worth buying, with an easy zip lock for freshness and delivery time was excellent. They have a regular customer.
