We got this product to help try to feed an extremely fussy puppy. He was not eating full meals and was picking at bits and pieces but not actually eating much. The vet recommended the Purina brand so it was really great when we were offered this on Amazon Vine. At the time we also ordered the standard Purina Pro plan puppy food in the hope that at least one would be a hit. As we soon discovered both of these foods proved to be a success! Our little dude first tried the standard food and within half an hour he had slowly but surely eaten more in one session than ever before and the trend continued with this food. The small pellets are easy for them to chew and swallow and they smell good (even to my human nose)so our pup was immediately attracted to them.As these are designed for a sensitive stomach we kept an eye out for anything suspicious emerging from the other end after he had eaten this and we were pleased to note that there was nothing notable and no noxious smells at any point either – something which can be a problem from time to time.Overall finding these foods has really helped to give us peace of mind about our pup as he is now eating a reasonable amount and it also seems to be helping his energy levels. Yes this pet food is a bit more expensive than many out there but in this instance I believe you get what you pay for. If you have a puppy that is not eating well or that seems to have a bit of a sensitive tummy then I heartily suggest trying this food out. Highly recommended

Product: Purina PRO PLAN Dog Medium Puppy for Sensitive Digestion with OptiDigest Rich in Chicken Dry FoodOK, it says "Puppy" on the packaging but Dougle is a miniature Yorkie and mistaken by everyone as a puppy so I thought I'd try these on him (before I saw that Purina do actually do a pack for miniature dogs).Firstly it had a good dog-food smell about it, which if I noticed then Dougle noticed from 50m away! We started to give this as 'treats' during his walks but now he has them buried in his toys which are supposed to keep his interest up during the day whilst being rewarded for his perseverance. Frankly I think it raises his frustration level at not being given free rein to a big bowl of these so we occasionally give him that too, especially if he gets a dodgy tum, which isn't often but just so happens to be at the moment during this 'trial'. Good timing or what? We'll see if his tummy clears up over the coming days.Secondly, as these are designed for puppies they are very small and ideal for a miniature Yorkie - at least that is what Dougle obviously thinks as the wolfs them down. We're aware that puppies need different, or more of, various minerals and vitamins compared to a full grown adult like Dougle (tiny though he is) so we are restricting how often he gets these. I'm very tempted to get the small dog pack from Purina as they were obviously the ones I should have gone for.A great smelling (and, I'm guessing, tasting) biscuit that Dougle (and puppies) will love.

So our tiny female Yorkshire Terrier (7 months old), and our male Rough-haired Dachshund (9 months old) have been chowing down on this for the last month. If they could speak, I'm sure they'd say they like it, and it fills their tiny bellies up.To be honest, if it wasn't for the Vine programme i wouldn't have even bought this. I usually buy 'another high-street brand' for the pups, which claims to give all the nutrition they need, and they've always eaten that without complaint. The same goes for this Purina product, although it claims to offer far more 'science'. After 4 weeks, I can't tell if they're in better health or not, as they're so young, but they're boundless balls of energy regardless.I do mix this kibble with scraps (e.g. bits of the Sunday roast) when served as I like to get some 'real' food in their diet. I'm pleased to say the pair haven't suffered any dodgy rear-end action after eating this either, but a 'sensitive stomach' variation is available to buy.The size of the dogs and the fact I mix it with other food means a bag of this size will easily last a month, and I do consider it good value for money, I just can't guarantee anything claimed by manufacturer is genuine. (Perhaps I'll come back in ten years and update this review!) I will be keeping an eye out for this in my local store, though.

This is a kibble tailored for medium breed puppies (spaniels, beagles, Border collies, etc) who are having issues adjusting to a solid diet. In our experience, many younger dogs do not tolerate rich wet foods well (or even some very rich dry foods). Whilst this is a premium product it isn't as high in protein as many top range foods. It's lower in chicken and higher in rice than the adult foods. Our two year old very small Springer is a bit past the puppy stage, but he does have a delicate tummy that doesn't tolerate over-rich foods well. There are several brands of kibble that he can only take as treats rather than as a main meal.Needless to say he had no problems with this kibble, which we mixed with his usual plain kibble mix. He absolutely loves the Pro Plan range, even though the kibble's RRP is over-priced in his owner's opinion. His standard sized 'big sister' is also very keen on the range too, although this particular variant is being kept just for her little brother.Although it's marketed as being suitable from 6 weeks, tiny puppies often find kibble pieces a challenge and are better suited to a very gradual introduction to kibble, as it is mixed with their wet foods. It can form part of their diet up to 12 months - or beyond in our little lad's case.

We have a new puppy in the family and he is just in the process of changing up to more grown-up food - and having a lot of bowel issues as a consequence. We have been experimenting with a range of different foods, with the support of the vet, to no avail. So this product has been another experiment in the process of finding the right thing for him.He absolutely adores it, which is great, but as he will eat pretty much anything (specially if he is not allowed to!), that is only half the battle. The important thing for us is that this food has the bonus of being specially prepared for the sensitive digestions of growing pups, so they gain the right nourishment without their little systems being overwhelmed. Our poor little man has been passing blood and mucus most days since we started trying him or food for older pups, so it has been really quite worrying. But, this time, I am really happy to report that - so far - things are looking really hopeful in that department. We have now gone through two days of having normal bowel movements. Which is a real breakthrough. So it is looking very positive and we are full of hope that we have finally found the right food for him and can now move forward with confidence, knowing he is going to be OK.

Because of their under-developed digestive systems,  many puppies struggle with food sensitivity issues. It is not unusual and is usually readily dealt with by controlled dietary means. Yet there are very few high-quality dog foods that have actually been designed to nourish a puppy while catering to their sensitive stomachs. In such circumstances some people switch their puppy to a 'sensitive digestion' type adult dog food — the consequences of this are that the puppy does not get the nutrients and vitamins that growing dogs need for optimal development.  This formulation contains a prebiotic which helps promote intestinal health by encouraging the growth of 'good bacteria' in the gut.In doing so it reduces the incidence of flatulance and runny stools and soothes upset stomachs -while meeting all of a pup's nutritional requirements. Not only does this food meet all of their nutritional requirements, but it contains other tasty and nutritious ingredients and is particularly rich in chicken which is easily digested. Rest assured that by feeding your puppy this complete food s/he will be getting the nutrition it needs while you are simultaneously helping to calm its sensitive stomach.Recommended.

I've recently changed my dog food to this Purina Pro plan and I've been very happy with the results. My dog is just under 3 years old and made the transition over to the Purina very well - I followed the packaging's recomendation to mix "old brand" with "new" over 3 days and this worked well. So far the dog has eaten all the food given to her and she seemes to enjoy the food too - , which implies that she prefers the taste of this food too.I Have been feeding my dog this food for a week and already her coat is just as shiny as it was before the transition there's no bad breath and, interestingly, her "buisness" is a lot less smelly, there seems to be no effect on her stomach too, which is very sensitive, and no excess mess either. All in all I'm very happy with this dog food and will certainly be buying more in future. The 3KG bag really does offer a lot of food, and has managed to feed my medium sized dog well with still about another 1 weeks' worth of food left.

Having availed myself of other Purina dog feed mixes which my dogs have found more than acceptable, this Purina Pro Plan mix aimed at medium sized puppies with sensitive digestion was obtained for a dog rescue centre who take in dogs of all shapes and sizes and of all ages. The mix is aimed at breeds like Springers and Collie pups who will benefit from added colostum which is found in a mother's milk. This particular mix contains chicken extracts and rice. The small sized kibbles are easily chewed and digested. The manufacturers claim that it will benefit dental hygiene in young dogs as well.I've seen other reviewers claim that it will benefit old dogs who might have trouble eating and digesting adult dog mixes and I can see the sense in this. Most dogs are not fussy and will wolf down any old feed regardless! At £13+ a bag it's not cheap as dog mixes go but if being fed to a pup then it should last two to three weeks.

The breeder of our puppy fed this and we received a free small bag in our puppy pack. Therefore we have continued feeding it to him.All our dogs (Springers) are usually fed on Dr John's working dog food so we did get some Dr John's puppy food to mix in with this as working dog food has no VAT charged on it making it a cheaper option - However it has nearly half the feed value and I've noticed he could do with a bit more weight on him so we are nearly back on this food full time.(as any changes to a dogs diet should be made gradually to avoid an upset stomach). Therefore I have been happy to pay the more expensive price for this.I was initially attracted to this food as it contains colostrum which is so very important for a healthy immune system. On this food his coat is very shiny and his eyes are bright and he seems very happy so I will continue to feed this now until he is ready to change to adult dog food.

We have used Purina with other dogs for years. This is our first pup for 18 years but it is easy to get the type wrong. The Medium relates to the size of the dog when fully grown, and puppy is the stage it is at now. Another supplier who I didn't use said many find this confusing. Speaking to Nestle (Purina) they were really helpful and explained everything (but they shouldn't need to). Our vet asked us what we were using, trying to sell us one they supply. I said Pro Plan, ok she says that's the best. The pups look great, so happy with Pro Plan. Each time I order I always have a message, contact DPD to arrange delivery and it's never required! The price does fluctuate so I look around.Today this is £41.26, another supplier sells at £33.99 with free delivery for 2. Nestle (Purina) do not supply directly. If you visit their site items for sale are through another party.

This Purina Puppy food is great to give your new addition the best head start with it’s nutrition. It easy enough for them to eat and will be wolfed down in no time. There is a sensitive stomach version, as well a normal version and having tried both I can say they seem to be equally enjoyed. This will give your puppy the essential nutrients it needs at the start of its life when it is most active and building muscle and growing. Be sure to follow instructions and go up to the adult version when it is appropriate as dietary needs differ as your puppy develops.I can’t vouch for the taste, but this seemed to be enjoyed and there was no hesitation in eating it.Worth considering if buying food for the newest member of your family.Feel free to check out my blog which can be found on my profile page.

This is by far the best puppy food I've found. My pup refused to eat, she was becoming unwell and you could see her bones protruding. I tried a wide variety of kibble, she wouldn't eat any of them including the one the breeder had her on. She would only eat dry food if it was covered with wet food. Her poop was vile (I won't elaborate!). She eats this without any wet food, in fact she loves it so much that it's practically inhaled! Her coat looks amazing and I'm sure you'll be pleased to know that her poop is now normal.Don't be tempted to buy cheaper brands, that's what I initially did, this lasts far longer (more than a month longer so far). Hungarian Vizsla's are well known for being fussy eaters. My pup is now 5 months old, has no protruding bones and is completely healthy.

Purina PRO PLAN Dog Medium Puppy for Sensitive Digestion with OptiDigest Rich in Chicken Dry Food - 3 kgThis is a food for puppies with a sensitive digestion. Although for medium sized dogs our Jack Russell’s love it.Previously on a comparable priced food they were very loose and extremely smelly at the emissions end. This food has largely cured that with the output being more solid and much less risk to global warming due to less gas!So far this food has been the best liked and it does smell quite nice compared to some dog foods.Overall.----------It seems to work with sensitive digestions well and reduces the rear end emissions to what I would call normal. They fight each other for it at feeding time and are very active. So we are happy.

Pellets are not too soft nor too hard for a puppy. These are for your larger puppies like Spaniels (adult dog 10-25kg). Wolfed down without a problem. I was given these as a tester and took them to my local dog pound and they said they had no problems and the puppies seemed to really enjoy them. Purina aren't the best in dog food but they are well constructed and you're not paying the earth. Apparently a good indicator is dog poop and apparently the food caused no issues there either :) These are for puppies with sensitive tummies. Remember to change food types slowly over a week ... lots of water and walks helps so their toilet habbits can help.No puppy wants to make a mess but some cannot handle rich foods so make changes slowly.

This kibble is a good way to start your puppy off on to dry food. It is a good crunchy kibble ( for good clean teeth) that I can only describe as very appealing to canines from the reaction it has recieved in my house. The kibble has been balanced for puppies switching on to proper dog food and contains a good mixture of ingredients to make sure that a growing dogs needs are being met.It has kept things nice and simple on the ingredients front to stop digestive systems being overloaded with new foods that could upset them. I have only had a very positive response to this kibble, with no adverse reactions - diahorrea, terrible wind and all the other tell tale signs of a poorly tummy)so I would be very happy to recommend this food.
