I have used various models of TENS machines over the past few years and they have come along tremendously in features and design but they all do the same job initially and to be honest, this model is rather ‘upmarket’ to my previous machines. The concept seems to be like other machines I have looked at and used in that two small batteries do the actual stimulation of the tissues around the affected parts of the body, in my case my shoulder and upper forearm although being of a 'certain age', feel there may well be other parts of the body this will see service in soon!. First off for anybody new to this concept,a good read of the instruction book is required but its not ‘rocket science’ but written in common sense language and should not prove a problem if you follow the instructions as written or if not sure, re-read them through again. The nitty gritty stuff then: The control centre or control box if you like, is reasonably small and so you can place it in your pocket or attach it to your belt etc. then apply the sticky pads to the affected areas and then connect the cables up and you are ready. The ‘sticky pads’ are basically no better or worse than, say, putting a first aid type plaster on your skin although these might be considered by some to be a little bit more ‘sticky’ but certainly nothing to be unduly bothered about considering the good it does. Its amazing how two small ‘AAA’ size batteries can deliver so much power that once you go through the motions that deliver so much towards pain relief. In fairness no two people are the same with their pain relief requirements so its all a bit ‘trial and error’ as you slowly go through the various programmes or modes to find out what is the best number setting for the individual concerned as you slowly raise the simple to use settings up until you are happy with the setting found and then just let it run as you feel the soothing responses go to work to bring a slight (controllable) tingling sensation to the parts affected. As I pointed out at the start I have used this technology for a little while now and I am still amazed at how these tiny machines bring so much relief to the body and I will say this model (to date anyway!) seems to be possibly the – dare I say it? – “Rolls Royce” of machines so far based on the cost and the job it does plus its seems to be very well made and is quite solid and could perhaps pass as being of a professional level machine, but it does the job of pain relief very well I must say that overall I am very impressed and would recommend it but as outlined earlier, its all down to the person using it and their requirements.

I've been seeing a chiropractor for about 12 years due to lower back pain caused by a fall and exacerbated by a slipped disc. On occasion she has used a Tens machine, but always in conjunction with massage and manipulation so I've never been able to tell whether it actually works, but as I'd recently slipped in the mud whilst walking the dogs and wrenched my knee I thought I'd give this a try. It was very easy to set up and get going and I was amazed at the power the two small batteries generated, to my mind at least as much as the professional TENS machine. This wasn't so noticeable on my knee and I had the intensity level up to 13 (15 is the maximum), but when I tried it on my shoulder, which has also been stiff and painful (I've reached that age) I found that 8 was as high as I could comfortably have it - on 11 my arm actually flailed around a little. The sensation is remarkable, particularly when it simulates kneading, and it can take you by surprise, especially if you use it on your lower back or buttock.Once you've inserted the batteries and attached the wire to the machine and the small pads it's very simple to use; attach the two pads to the problem area as illustrated in the booklet, switch it on, press the M button repeatedly to cycle through the modes for neck, shoulders, arms, etc. until you get to the one you want and then press the intensity button to increase or decrease the strength. It will then run through a series of massages; tap, knead (or kneed as Amazon would have it) and rub for 15 minutes. During that time you can alter the intensity to suit. The big question is - does it work? Well, yes, I think it does. Before writing this I tried it again on my shoulder and then on my bicep and they definitely feel less stiff than they did and therefore less painful when I move my arm. When I used it on my knee it did ease the pain, but only a little, although the next day it felt quite a bit less painful. On my neck and shoulders it reduced stiffness and to some extent pain.Overall, I would say this does reduce pain and stiffness, although not completely by any means. It's certainly not an instant cure and not a cure all. Whatever injury you have will still be there but it does is reduce the discomfort and that might help towards the healing process. If you've used a TENS machine before and found it helpful then I believe you'll find this just as good.

Got to admit, I was rather shocked (sorry) by this item. It actually worked!Omron is a manufacturer of medical devices that is trusted by hospitals and GPs across the NHS. Their lines of blood pressure meters are extremely popular, so I expected this TENS device to have equally high build quality standards. What I wasn't expecting was for it to have an effect on a joint problem that I've had for a while now.The device consists of a belt-mountable control and battery box, two sticky electrode paddles and a wire to connect the three parts. The box itself runs on 2 AAA batteries and has a screw-secured battery compartment. The enclosed manual shows how the various modes can be engaged by the M button on the front, although a simple scroll through of options using the single control button highlights different body areas on the LCD display. One minor criticism here is that I'd have liked to see an illuminated LCD screen. The user then uses the up and down rocker switch to dial in the intensity until a tapping or tweaking sensation is felt at the place being treated. So off I went. I attached the two electrodes as instructed, dialed in the appropriate setting and turned it up to the suggested level where I could feel it. The sensations isn't uncomfortable at all. It's almost like someone tapping against your muscle with a pencil. Waves of impulses wash through the area, at different frequencies. After 15 minutes (the timer uses this as the countdown, being the period recommended for each treatment) the device switches itself off.Having started with low expectations, I was definitely surprised. My dodgy knee felt fine. Almost like it had been given a proper massage and the nagging pain was barely there any more. And this without resort to drugs. It is so simple to use. No setting times, just bringing up the area you want to treat and how high or low a level feels right to you. Once finished the two pads are returned to a double sided holder that's included and are reusable up to 150 times (washable every 15 times). It's compact, effective and easy to use. More or less the perfect combination to me so five stars.

Great little portable TENS machine from Omron. The E3 Intense is powered by two AAA batteries, and the reusable pads can be used and washed up to 150 times. These pads can easily and economically be replaced by Amazon when the time comes. This machine features 6 automatic programmes for back & Shoulders, joints, legs, arms and feet and 9 programmes in total. Intensity levels can be set from 1 to 15, although on the maximum setting it can be very intense and a little uncomfortable. There are also 3 massage settings - tap, knead and rub. For my back I found intensity setting 8 with the rub function very soothing, and it certainly eased aching muscles from work. The device can easily be fitted into a handbag,or small case, and can even be carried around in your pocket if it is large & deep enough. A very comprehensive instruction manual is included featuring numerous Do's and Dont's, such as Do Not Use On The Genitals - as if!!! I own a much larger electric TENS machine and I have to say that this portable device seems just as effective, It is small, neat, has a nice clear display, and feels particularly well built. This is a very handy device for the quick and effective relief of minor aches and pains, and a good buy at the price. This is going to be particularly useful to me at work, and indeed during the long journey to and from work. In fact it can be worn discreetly anywhere. I would recommend investing in some good quality, high capacity rechargeable AAA batteries, as this will definitely save you money, and ensure you always have the means to power the machine. Highly recommended for anybody who suffers from aching muscles and joints, and doesn't want to be tied to a plug socket to get relief.

I have been using a Med-Fit 3® Digital Dual Channel TENS Machine for almost 2 years for pain relief after a car accident. The aforementioned machine has 4 sticky electrodes and so it can positioned around a particular spot or it can be used for wide ranging relief. By having two different channels for the pulse variances, which the user sets, you can create any intensity you want, there are no pre-sets. The machine is also connected to the control box by wires and overall it works very well. When this item came up on the Vine programme I thought I would jump at the chance of owning a "better"/more expensive machine.Firstly, the control centre is quite small and it can quite easily slip into your pocket or attach to your belt. The only issue I have with this machine over my old is that it only has 2 electrode sticky pads. This means that with my old product I can get a much more wide ranging stimulation of say neck and shoulders as it comes with four heads. To some this will not matter, as with acute pain you will want all the electrode heads close together, so as to alleviate specific pain in a small area. The sticky pads are a bit slimy and I do prefer the Philips pads on their Tens machines as they are less sticky and they come off skin easily without pulling at any hairs. In fairness, the device appears to be very well made and is certainly less flimsy than my original machine.Overall this is a great machine and it does relieve pain. It would be better for me if it had 4 "heads" but even with just the 2 it does its job relatively well. Whilst there are niggles with the two heads and the slimy sticking power of the patches, I am still happy to Recommend this product.

This is a strange product. It electrocutes you into relaxing, something I had never considered. So on opening the box, you get some cables, a control device and some defibrillator pads to electro-zap those muscle aches away. I must admit, it was a bit scary until I saw that it ran on 2 AAA batteries, then I was less worried. How much power could 2 crappy little batteries have, right?I applied the sticky pads to my shoulder blades in the position the manual recommended, connected the cables, and set the 15 minute cycle going. At first I couldn't feel anything, and was sure I had done something wrong, then I realised you can beef up the zaps! So I cranked it up to 11 (not the highest, it goes up to 15,but I do like Spinal Tap) and had the strangest 15 minutes ever. The preset cycle has various patterns of zaps, much like a massage chair except using the mighty power of Thor. Personally I would not recommend going above setting 10 as anything above that became painful and left me twitching like a Star Wars fan who just got told to "Live long and prosper."The manual recommends to do a cycle whenever, then once more before bed. I followed these intructions and my back and shoulderpain felt significantly less for a day or two. I am not a fan of massages as they make me uncomfortable and stressed, (exactly the opposite of their purpose, I know) but these electro-zap-jigawatt-bolt-thunder pads were an unusual equivalent. I would recommend them to anyone who has social anxieties but also has shoulder and back pains. You can use the pads on other areas too but I didnt try this out.

I suffer from lower back pain and have used a TENS machine for several years. I tried several different makes before buying an Omron E4 machine which is excellent; I thought the washable pads were really good compared with the replaceable ones on other machines; I’m still using the original pads despite buying a spare set. The Omron E4 is also very easy to use; the only drawback really being the size as it is difficult to use whilst at work as it is too big for a pocket. The Omron E3 is tiny, about the size of an original nokia phone, but twice as thick. It is powered by 2 x AAA batteries which are fitted under a cover which is secured with a screw with a coin-slot.Strangely the batteries show nearly empty on the display; the manual lists them as “for trial use”. There is a belt clip for the unit which holds it securely. There is a draw-string bag to hold it all; it really needs a toggle to keep it closed. The cables plug neatly into the unit and are long enough for the pads to go on the shoulders or feet. The LCD is easy to use, either select the part of the body or one of the 3 massage modes. Time is fixed at 15 minutes. Good instructions and very easy to use with good results, a real boon to be able to wear it whilst sitting at my desk; I really like it.

Before I started using a TENS unit, I would have thought they were little more than snake oil. However, a pain relief specialist - he administered injections to my troublesome back - recommended getting one; and I`m convinced they work. Even if it is only a placebo, I believe in it...and there`s no downside, unlike some medications - this has to be a better option. This unit is a very good one. Instead of four small square pads (like most TENS units) that you have to restick onto a plastic sheet, this unit has two large pads, that you stick to a similarly-shaped hard piece of plastic to keep them safe when not in use. It`s a really small unit but has an easy to understand display, allowing you to determine which part of the body you are hoping to blast pain from, what intensity to use, and even which type of massage you might want to apply. The unit runs on two x AAA batteries (provided) and other than having to screw open the back first, I was using this within moments of arrival - the instructions are very clear and easy to follow, and useful too, for anyone unfamiliar with these machine. It`s small, light, can be clipped onto a belt or pocket, and I`m sure I`ll get many years good service out of it. Definitely recommended.

Obviously there are two areas to look at - the first is the unit itself, and the second is whether it works or not. At this point, I will just be discussing the first point - I did try it briefly on a shoulder issue, and it seemed to make it worse, but that isn't a muscular problem. I have lower back issues which come and go, so when that next happens, I will test for effectiveness. As for the unit itself, it is extremely light and portable, and it uses AAA batteries (supplied). The pads are reusable, but they will need replacing after a while - apparently about 150 uses. The leads from machine to pads is a decent length. There are two main options.. you can choose to use tap, kneed or rub; or you can select a pre-programmed selection for specific body areas. There is a guide within the book as to what these involve. You can then change the intensity levels, to something you find useful but comfortable - I'm quite sensitive, and only needed about 3, but it goes all the way to 15.The booklet includes advice on where to place the pads, and warnings about where not to use them.If you've used a TENS machine before, and found it useful, this is a good, portable unit, which is easy to use.

A very compact TENS device that is powered by two AAA batteries. It offers nine pre-set modes, each when selected displays an icon suggesting where on the body it should be used, and each has fifteen intensity levels to choose from. Each therapy runs for fifteen minutes and a countdown displays on the screen. It is suggested it can be used for one or two fifteen minute sessions up to three times a day.It is very easy to use, and while the overall range of therapies is good then differences between some individually is very subtle. The pair of pads supplied work well and have snap connectors which are unlikely to become disconnect when in use, unlike those which plug in.It is claimed that the pads can be used up to 150 times, and can be washed after every 15 uses. The electro cord for the pads is very flexible which makes it easy to manage. There is a pad holder supplied to which the pads can be attached when not in use, with the electro cord wrapping around the holder, and a soft pouch is included to hold everything. This is more versatile and also more convenient to use than other TENS devices I have used.

The OMRON pain Reliever certainly does relieve pain. Instead of having to wait until I have made an expensive appointment with a physiotherapist I am able to enjoy immediate pain relief in the comfort of my own home. One morning I could hardly get out of bed and could not stand fully upright due to the pain in my lower back. I applied the easy to use OMRON pads to the painful area followed the instructions settings and waited for relief whist sipping my morning tea. Within 15 minutes I was able to stand straight pain free. The OMRON is easy to use and versatile. The OMRON not only saves me money, it saves me time as well. Often when you go to a professional for this type of therapy they decide where you need pain relief, with the OMRON I control where and how much relief I need to get on with my day. I would highly recommend the OMRON pain reliever.

Really impressive piece of kit. Bought for my wife who is struggling with a bout of tennis elbow as well as long standing whiplash related neck and shoulder tension. Easy to set up and get going - drop in the supplied batteries, attach the sticky pads and you're away. Decent instructionbook for a first time Tens user too.It offers a wide variety of settings and intensity and seems really well made. My wife loved it, particularly how portable it is - clip on a belt or drop in a large pocket and you can go about your businesses while the machine works its magic. My wife reported definite pain reduction and was also pleased it's easy to pack up and store in a little travel bag. Top marks.

Great tens machine. Spot on with the pressure. So many modes and the perfect setting for my back. Gives great relief to joints and can be easily used. I would have like spare pads to be included as replacement are rather expensive. Overall the current pads have last several months and I use my tens machine monthly. The 15mins sessions could have allowed for longer sessions up to 30mins in increments of ten minutes, 20, 30. It’s annoying having to reset all the setting when it times out. It’s mobile, comes with a bag to carry and store in. The pad storage pad could have been better designed. Overall a great product and price point as the next one seems great but rather pricey

I was kindly given this by Amazon to review and I have to be honest, at first I was a bit sceptical, that a small battery powered device could effectively relieve pain. Well, any scepticism I had soon vanished when I started to use it.I was having bad shoulder pain after a mild cycling injury and when I put on the pads and switched the Omron E3 on, the pain really was effectively relieved, I was impressed. The only issue for me is that although the control unit is quite small, it is not the most convenient thing to carry around if you want to use this when you're out and about, however, if you want to control your pain, this is a small disadvantage. I'm impressed.

Wish I had bought this ages ago. I get a lot of pain which moves to different areas of the body and I don’t tolerate medication very well. I’ve only used it twice and on a low setting but did feel the benefit. Definitely worth the money. I was also glad that it included batteries. I would certainly recommend this product. Also, excellent delivery service and communication from delivery driver, especially bearing in mind I ordered during the early phase of CV19. Thank you.
