Main positive points:* Quality product, well made, will last a long time* No need to buy gel or replace the pads, so low ongoing usage cost, apart from changing the 3 x AAA batteries once in a while. Just need to apply water on the belt and body. Many other products on Amazon would have much higher running cost (changing electrodes each month for instance)* Nice selection of programmes, and intensity range. The programmes (A to E) determine the types and frequency of pulsations and duration (e.g 20 minutes), while a separate button sets the intensity (from 0 to 40). Programmes include warming up and cooling down periods. Duration cannot be set on its own but is linked to the programme selected* Intensity up to the level set by the user builds up progressively,so a lot less stressful/feels safer* Display has been cleverly located at the top of the front controller, so it can been seen when operating the belt* Can actually feel that muscles are working, and surely visible right after a session. Can see some differences after a few uses* User manual is adequate, and nice packaging/boxLimitations:* Can't use rechargeable batteries (but batteries seem to last a long time)* Remembers the last programme used (and how many times it was used) but not the intensity, so have to set again at each use* Belt is not flexible or made of stretchable material, so can be difficult to position initially and some people may struggle to get the side electrodes to touch properly, based on body shape. I think they missed a trick and could have included some stretchable sections, and possibly used more flexible materials* Side electrodes seem to be positioned quite far on the side, so I wonder if they actually stimulate the abs muscles. Maybe the belt is designed for very "wide" people! Therefore, the cheaper EM30 model (£10 less) from the same manufacturer, with only 2 electrodes located at the front may actually be sufficient and a better buy for some people (and seems to be made of stretchable material but less durable). I think I am getting the main benefits/workout from the front electrodes* Spare electrode covers are in the plastic bag with the batteries, but could be easy to discardOverall, a quality, easy to use product.

The belt itself is great and easy to use with several programmes and intensities to chose from. I've been using it every day for a week and I can feel the difference. Everyday my abs feel like they have a moderate ab workout resulting in a nice, slight ache but nothing too painful. This isn't a product to make you lose weight it's designed to compliment a healthy lifestyle which includes exercise. It will strengthen your core but if you need to lose weight then it will be up to you to do cardio. The delivery was shocking. I used amazon prime so that I would get it the next day to start using with my workout routine but it didn't turn up, or the day after.I checked my amazon account to see that apparently they had tried to deliver it but couldn't so had left a card and were waiting for me to call and rearrange. As I didn't have the card I didn't know the number. I requested a call from Amazon customer care who called me straight away, were very helpful and arranged delivery for the following day in the afternoon. The delivery company turned up in the morningwhen we were at work and left it in our recycling dustbin. Thankfully it wasn't bin day. The moral of this tale is that you're better off selecting 1st class Royal Mail delivery for items that are too big for your letterbox and you're at work. It'd have got it quicker with them or I could've collected it from my local delivery office.

I bought this on the recommendation of my physiotherapist - I've shredded parts of my spine and after a lifetime of sports, was going mad at not being able to abdominal crunches etc. You're not going to develop a six pack using it, but it has stopped the muscles I have atrophying - and also them some definition again. After two weeks of use on the basic setting, I was standing front of the mirror thinking "not bad..." That said I have a BMI of 21 and so one can see the muscles underneath anyway. It's not a cure for everything, and I can't imagine it "building muscle" but it does *something* positive.I can imagine that used in conjunction with an aerobic/cardiovascular regime and weight loss it would really hold those core muscles together - and they'd become more visible. It doesn't feel like I've actually done exercise after I've used it and you might find that positive or negative (I found it negative - it doesn't feel like one has done anything - but I used to get satisfaction from doing Ironman competitions, so take that with a pinch of salt). It's a relatively cheap piece of kit, is easy to do (although it sometimes folds awkwardly, hiding the electrodes, which then requires a bit of fiddling). It's never going to replace weighted abdominal exercises, but it does at the very least tone existing muscle.

I wasn't too sure what to expect with this belt and wondered whether it's the same technology as that used to administer shocks to the Big Brother housemates... It's a really sturdy and well made item which looks like it cost more than it did. I've had it for eight months now, it's working consistently well and I've changed the batteries once.I have a 34" waist and the belt fits well and with plenty of room to spare. There is also an extension so this may give you some idea about whether the size is right for you.Getting a good contact is easy even if something of a shock when the cold water reaches your skin - however it fits snugly against the skin and ensures the muscle stimulation takesplace. You can really feel the contractions which are hopefully doing the job of exercising with minimum effort! It's a pleasant enough sensation and I've managed to increase the intensity to 25 and this still feels comfortable. As to whether it works the muscles enough, I'm not entirely sure and I don't think I'm using it regularly enough so can't say my stomach has improved!Writing this has renewed my determination though and so I'll give it some more regular use and report back here.....

I've been using the 2-electrode belt with success, so decided to 'upgrade' to this 4-electrode version. It's not bad, and maybe will become more flexible with use, but I get the feeling that it's been made primarily for use by the male of the species!Do any other women find that there's quite a gap at the top of the belt when in use?I need to cross over the straps at the back so that they form an 'X' behind my waist, pulling down both ends very tightly - otherwise there's a real problem with skin contact. This was not a problem that I had with my first belt, as the elastic strap made it easy to get a snug fit.I'm a size 10, and use this belt to help me stay in shape.Maybe its not a problem if you're a bit bigger?Would love to hear other user opinions on this matter.UPDATE (2 yrs later) 7/10/14I've just ordered my second Beurer belt as the first one finally stopped working - no surprise as I've been using it at full intensity-40 E - most days for the last couple of years!! Would not be without one - despite the slight problem (see original comments above). Highly recommended for keeping tum & waist in shape.

Well, all I can say is I feel much better about myself, so on that basis I guess it does! I understood it wasnt going to turn me in to Charles Atlas but after losing quite a lot of weight I wanted to firm up my tum, I bought this about 4 weeks ago and followed the instructions, starting on program A I'm now passed program D, it does take half an hour on C and D programs so I leave it in my bedroom at night and put it on right after my shower in the morning with a tee-shirt while I make my breakfast, I then put my shirt on for work after the program finishes. I guess if you have loads of time this wouldnt matter so much, the evenings are much easier, I just set it off and let it do its stuff while watching TV,you can really feel it working your stomach muscles... I use it twice a day with out fail, just watch out for when you put the new batteries in, you get used to having the power set higher as they run down, then when you change the batteries you dont need as much power, I just whipped it up and it felt like Id been Tasered... I only did that once though!

Having used both the Beurer belt and previously a belt from the main competitor's (not sure if I am allowed to mention names), I can say without a doubt that the Beurer is by far better !The Beurer actually really works my abs, it is amazingly simple to use, you get your waist and the belt wet, put the belt on and off you go.I just feel sorry for the time I spent with the previous belt, applying sticky gel, replacing pads and batteries, and adjusting the belt to actually feel as if it was doing something... The previous belt was going through batteries at an alarming rate, and never really felt as if it was causing my muscles to contract. Never saw any improvement with my abs.I already had trained abs when I started,so started at intensity 20, and after a month am now at 32, program D-03. Combined with a controlled diet, I slowly begin to see my six pack, which is a first for me...Very satisfied !The only complaint I would have is very the small amount of black dye/paint, that rubs off onto the drying towel at the end of a work out.

I used Slendertone in the past but the sticky pads are messy, don't last long and cost a lot to replace. Also the electronic controller gave up so I kept having to swap the working controller between my shorts and ab belt... all hassle meaning I stopped using it. This belt is so much better, you just need water, or actually a wet cloth! It's got several programmes so you can just do 20min or 30mins or a combo back-to-back. I sit on a ball all day so my core strength is pretty strong, I do a good amount of cardio and I often do stomach crunches/ pilates etc but still my tummy remains - but it tones up quickly when using one of these belts for an hour a day, combine it with an anti-cellulite/firming cream and some deep kneeding massage and it's a real help...but like anything you have to be consistent and keep it up! The great thing is you can use this whilst working at the computer, watching TV, sat in a car etc so you can fit it in much more easily than the 20-30 mins of hard pilates you'd need to do each day to have the same effect.

I purchased the belt about a month ago. I have been using it every day for about 1 hour a day and I have to say: I am starting to see the results already!!I am very active, I exercise 6 days a week and just wanted this as a supplement to help me achieve a six pack.Bear in mind that this belt does not work on its own. You need to use it a part of a healthy diet and some exercise.I am giving it 4* instead of 5 because I find it a bit too big for me. My waist is around 68 cms and I struggle a bit to keep it thight. But this is just me.Also, I find a bit annoying the sound when you modify the instensity. I would like it to have an option to take the sound off.It would be goog as well that there was an option to lock the buttons as sometimes you might press the "off" button by mistake (at the front of the belt) and you need to start the whole program all over again. All and all, these are just no major faults, just bits and pieces that could do to improve the product. Most of all, it does the trick.Highly recommended.

I'd used the Slendertone belt for a number of years. That (like this product) was very effective when used to supplement (not replace) exercise -- I could see very real results (stronger, more defined abs) after a few weeks of daily use. The problem with the Slendertone, as the last reviwer notes, is battery usage and the pads. For me, the pads would lose their stickiness after a few uses, even when I replaced their plastic covers immediately after use. This was a problem because unless the pads made a good seal with your body, the Slendertone would detect an "error," start beeping and stop sending electricity to the pad in question. Perhaps a safety feature. Anyway, this would force me to press and hold the pads against me very firmly, sometimes for a few minutes, to get it to work. It was actually hard to do, and a real nuisance. Plus new pads were expensive. Whereas this Beurer belt works fine everytime if you just moisten its permanent pads, and your stomach, with a little water. Sorry I didn't get it earlier.

I've not had one of these belts before as they seem expensive and fiddly, with gels & pads etc. I could imagine getting one, using it a couple of times and getting fed up. However, this one looked good value and looked easy to use, not requiring gels & pads. The unit itself is nicely made with a detachable control unit offering a range of programs and intensities. I've been using it for about a week now and can feel the difference. Beware though, this only works on your abs, not your love handles, and if your six pack is covered by a tub of lard you won't be able to see the results, although you'll still benefit. The only small quibble is that the integral belt will fit up to about a 34 inch waist,if like me, you're on the wrong side of that, you'll need the belt extension which is included. It's really no hassle to use but psychologically it would have been nice not to need it!Good product, nicely made, easy to use, seems to do what it says - five stars, worth the money.

I love the idea that you don't need to buy gels and just need to put water on the device and your stomach. It also feels nice and feels quite robust. The idea that the central device can be removed at ease is very satisfying too.The central device has limited buttons which makes it great for non tech savoy people. Simply turn on/off, pause, programs change and intensity change and if it breaks contact with your skin or is removed it immediately stops. However, the intensity only goes to around 40. This is the major drawback of this product. It still should be enough for the average person but if your anything like me you will want to try and increase that power to see you progress but as 40 isthe maximum it does limit that ability.Overall though I would recommend if the price is reasonable as it certainly doesn't try and scam you like Slendertone products too.

I have just recieved the toning belt and was very pleased with the packaging, instructions and overall look of the product to start. I found it very easy to use and understand and as my bf uses it and is slightly bigger it has an extention to the back so don't worry if you are larger as the model accomodates this all. It's cheaper than alot of other produccts on the market and does'nt need all the replacement parts just a tiny bit of water to moisturise the pads. It's comfy and I wear it watching t.v . As for the results I will wait to see as I have just recieved it but what I can say is you can feel your muscles contracting and that will definetly pay off . I can't wait for a month or so down the line to see how I look.Defo reconmend this product to anyone and also the company who delivered it were fantastic and very quick with great customer service.

Have experienced the sharp electric shock as reported by a few other reviewers, so have been cautious in my use of the belt. Noticed that the only times I got the full-on shock, I was wearing either metal belt-buckle or shorts with metal studs - without metal present, I have had no issues whatsoever. While the multi-lingual user manual is rather vague on operational use, it is pretty easy to use - wet the pads and stomach, belt-up, select your level of intensity and it stops automatically at end of programme.I've only been using it for about 3 weeks now, working slowly up through the levels (started at about level 7 - noticeable, but not-unpleasant tingle) to just over level 20 now (often fierce clenches, but accustomed through gradual build up so still not unpleasant). Not much sign of improvement so far, but will keep working with it.

I purchased this for my Father who sadly has epidurals every 3 months to replace missing bone in his spine. Having spoken to him recently he is delighted with it. I purchased this along with a TENS Machine so he may use this after the epidural and then use the TENS Machine when the pain set in, as it often does. To my disbelief he is after only a few weeks now managing a 5 mile walk a day using this twice daily to strengthen his stomach muscles allowing him to cope better with the discomfort. All I can say is that if it works for a man in that condition then it is money worth spending for anyone who wants to feel better, look better or just generally keep themselves fit.A fabulous buy on my behalf which I would recommend to anyone A+++ excellent delivery & packaging and very very well priced. Thank you
