You know, people get caught up in the quest of vanity. There are many reviews here that state that this product maybe doesn't do everything for you but let me tell you about my experiences with it... I bought this purely on a whim, that whim being that I was always enamoured by the adverts I saw whilst perusing the late night shopping channels as a child, predominately the Family Quiz Channel (or Challenge, as it is now known) after a healthy bought of Richard O'Briens Crystal Maze. I always thought "Hey, this seems like a great product. If they can give you washboard abs like this then why does everyone not simply use this instead of exercise..." I was a child.I could not see the benefits of a healthy body and knew very little of the adult world of chasing after buses for work that were perplexingly early (oft coming in-between the allotted times that were given; although the state of english transportation is another yarn far too long to ponder about here). Anyway I digress; I was eager to purchase this product for the majestic price of £49.99 and see if my childhood innocence could hold up to the ideals of telemarketing's finest... I clicked the button and lo' it was on it's way to me using the fabled Super Saver Delivery. I waited the allotted time and it turned up... despite a kerfuffle at the local postal office; needless to say like a young Link I held it above my head in pleasure. Now, about my current fitness. I am not a fat man, do not get me wrong. I hang out in places that I do not like (not in a way in which you'd find me at a nearby Iceland) but in general my body is not too displeasing - Often being described as Rolf Harris in his finer years. I tried the belt. It's a tad sticky and if you are slightly 'Hang-y' you can see the belt pull away at the flab when you remove it... just a hint and what you or I should be looking to rid ourselves of. But yes, the belt is a strange contraption. it feels sort of akin to getting a stomach massage off of an over-amorous caterpillar but needless to say it is a odd sensation at best. I enjoyed it for a while and being the sadist that I am quickly maxed out the power level to over 9000... The product works well and needless to say I found my life improving in ways I could not imagine. I began waking earlier to use the belt. I was more alert I could feel the presence of those around me, constantly seeing if they had noticed this body of an adonis forming before them. I was kinder. More upbeat. The belt you could say does more than it says on the tin. I have been in a mood of grandeur since obtaining this belt. I mean come on. Feeling better about yourself has always been man's goal and finally I can do it without using my lightening fast wit and sarcasm to put underlings in their place. Just the other day in fact a mere mortal pushed in front of me in the Self Service line at the local Sainsbury's and in surprise to myself, I uttered not a word and instead happily let him forward in his tireless quest to buy a pineapple and lube (although I know not what he planned to do with the aforementioned items). And this is when I found out the true power of the belt. You see, it has been mentioned in previous reviews that this is not a "fix-all" belt. If you are flabby prepare for that to not change but know this; Underneath that layer of flab, that shall almost indefinitely stay that way until your dietary habits change, there are two things... Abs of steel... and a heart of gold. I'm not sure which one to attribute to the belt itself but remember for some self image is everything... for me, at least, it is something to be proud of... finally as I stuff my face with Camembert I can rest assured this god-like belt has given me maybe not the power of a muscular physique but what is there is being held in just a tad better than before and for me... This product was worth every penny. I give it a rating of Three Thumbs Up. Good work and goodnight SlenderTone. And remember - You stay classy San Diego.

DOES IT WORK?A friend of mine bought me a very cheap ab belt a few years ago as I was doing a lot of ab exercises and had a '4-pack' but was struggling with the lower abs and couldn't get to the 6- or 8- pack. That one actually worked amazingly well for a 10 quid product. It did die within a few months, however. But it gave me had high hopes for this one bought when I'm trying to get back into shape. And this one works, and works VERY WELL. It is difficult for me to believe but within about 3 days I saw small but still significant results. My abs were noticeably harder though still invisible; especially the sides (obliques?) were suddenly there when they seemed to have disappeared. After 2 weeks I can see my abs once again, even though I still have a bit of fat on the only tummy.Having read the other reviews it seems like these products don't work for everyone. I can only say it definitely is working great for me. The contractions from this machine are very powerful by the time you reach full power, this can be a strong sensation. It's not pain per se but some might find it very uncomfortable; I personally like the sensation as it really lets you know that it is working.THE PRODUCTThe system consists of a belt, to which you stick 3 'gel' electrode pads and then attach a controller that slots into the belt. The system is expensive but you certainly get a good product out of the box, with two sets of batteries, two sets of gel electrodes. The belt itself well made and seems like good quality; I am right in the middle of the range but it seems like it would fit quite thin to quite large people. The electrode gel pads themselves are a bit annoying as they are very sticky, smell slightly like a hospital, and do get damaged / wear. They stick on one side to the belt and then also stick to your skin to ensure a good connection. There are three electrode pads: one large which goes in a fixed position in the centre of the belt and covers your main abdominal muscles and two slightly smaller that are movable to cater for larger / smaller waists, to do your side muscles. When removing the belt, if you just pull the whole thing off, there is a good chance the pads will come off the belt and stay stuck to you. This is very, very easily solved by pulling the belt off slowly from the sides and with a thumb on one corner of each side-pad; then once they are free, with both thumbs on a corner of the centre pad. Other people have commented that using lotion or moisturiser before using the belt helps with this as well; I have not tested this as removing the belt has not been a problem for me.WHAT DOES IT FEEL LIKE?At lower intensity levels it feels like a tingling on the surface of the skin which doesn't actually cause a muscle contraction. Not painful but strange. As you crank it up the tingling gets stronger and changes into more of a gentle cramping sensation in the muscles. If you turn it up too high it is most definitely painful as the gentle cramping turns into a severe cramping and you feel like you will pull a muscle. But it's very simple - only turn it up to a level where you are comfortable. It doesn't work constantly but just for a few seconds at a time, building up to a peak and then reducing again, with a couple of seconds rest, and then repeating. Much like the rhythm of doing crunches.I actually quite enjoy the sensation but it is off course a little strange at first.OVERALL VERDICTIt's not a cheap product but the results are really quite amazing (if anything like the ones I have seen). I highly recommend.Do bear in mind that, once you have bought the product, you will probably need to keep changing the electrodes every month or so and they are not cheap. For me, the belt and ongoing expense of buying the electrodes is completely worth it.

I've had this for two days so far — I'll provide my first impressions, and if I remember to do so, I'll write a follow-up review in 4-6 weeks' time. The start-up instructions were pretty clear and easy to follow. I had no problems assembling it. It also comes with a carrier-case, which is quite nice. One thing that could be clearer is how to start the program — the instructions for assembly are great, but when it comes to first use they are a bit vague. Having pressed the 'on' button, I wasn't quite sure what I had to do next in order to get it started. As it turns out, you then have to increase the electrical current on each side until you're comfortable. I worked this out myself,as the instructions were rather vague.I've used it three times at various settings, and it's actually quite remarkable how much they can make you tense your abs. I'm reasonably fit (i.e. not overweight, but need definition) but I still found that I couldn't use it at even 50% intensity. Even hours later, your abs still feel harder. It might take a bit of trial and error to get them positioned on your stomach correctly. I've noticed that putting the middle pad lower down on the abs (slightly above the bladder, as opposed to over the bellybutton) seems to affect them much more strongly. I guess this is because there's less fat to resist the current. The reason I'm giving it 4 stars is because of a few niggles. From the intensity of my abs crunching (really, it's quite strong; you could really hurt yourself if you had it on maximum), I have no doubts that if I use it for a few weeks it will have a positive effect. However, as mentioned, the instructions aren't as clear as they could be. Also, the batteries are rechargeable (I think), but the charger costs extra and needs to be ordered from the Slendertone website. Lastly, I've been trying to find out how often I can use it - but I couldn't find the information on the instruction manual or on the website.Feels like a good quality product, and enjoying it so far, but the company could still improve these aspects.

I bought this belt in the New Year lightning deals for £50. This is the first product of this type that i have ever used. I am currently trying to eat healthily and exercise 3-4 times a week at my local gym. I didn't expect the belt to have much effect, but have always wanted to try them.Firstly, i was very impressed to see two sets of pads and batteries included with the unit. I'm not sure how long the pads will last as they do get very sticky after use, but they seem to be holding up pretty well after 2 weeks use. It would be nice to get at least a couple of months use out of each set as i do think replacement pads seem expensive (around £10 i think). The belt is fairly easy to use,but personally i found the instructions pretty poor. Basically, there are a number of different programs to select at the beginning of each "workout". These vary in time, maximum intensity and workout type. By the time you make it to program 9, the workout includes doing abdominal crunches whilst using the belt but from what i could make out from the instructions initially you just sit/lie there with it on. The unit gives you the option to continuously vary the intensity (of each side of the belt) during the workout. I find it best to build the intensity up gradually during the workout as putting it onto a high setting too soon can be quite painful. Whilst in use, the belt causes the abdominal muscles to contract strongly and then relax in a repeating pattern. It may be too early to see major results, and also unclear whether these results are solely attributable to the belt, but it certainly feels like it is going to work.Overall, i'm very happy with the belt. I'm not sure if it would have that much of an effect if not combined with some sort of exercise/healthy eating regime though. I'm sure it would strenthen the muscles still, but if you're looking for visible differences you'll have to be losing fat at the same time.

Hi there,I have had this belt for about 4 years. I used it in my early 30's the first time around and it really does tighen your stomach muscles. You feel sore after using it (like having done a load of sit ups) for the first couple of weeks - really showing it is doing something. But you need to keep cranking up the power on the device to maintain results - you can plateau and not increase your results if you stick at the same level. Towards the end of the first 6 months I used it the first time around I was almost maxing out the intensity level to keep getting gains - and at really high levels it is quite a strong sensation, almost like someone pushing a fist into your stomach - but as they say no pain no gain!At weaker settings there is no pain at all... so you can adjust to suit you. Four years ago I was quite fit but nobody really though of me as athletic - I remember asking friends to touch my stomach (without telling them about this!) and they were all surprised how solid it felt. Now I'm 34 I have bought a new one as the price came down and the old one was a bit ratty. I'm getting a little soft around the middle so looking forward to those gains I got 4 years ago. One word of warning though - if you are quite fat around the middle you won't see the results. I'm not slim, but not huge either; if you can pinch over an inch you won't see the results half as much as if your a bit slimmer - a good incentive to eat less and exercise more! Plus the stimulation does not work as well though fat. But all in all a bargain as this price and a good supplement to a fitness program.

I have grown up with Slendertone. The old school 'gym body 8' and 'top tone 12' It was only a matter of time before the more convenient all in one belt came along. So lets talk about this. As with the vintage machines, this works well. The only one advantage of the multi pads being that you can be the boss where you want a contraction, however, the pads of these are cleverly placed to target the abdominal 'corsetry'It is very convenient and in all honesty not really noticeable under a jumper, I would recommend to use whilst relaxing however, not walking the dogI would recommend 1 day on one day off. Abdominal recovery is important.Your rectus abdominis (commonly known as 6 pack)is actually 1 sheet of muscle, and you have to remember to gain a 6 pack you need to have very low body fat, and also quite dense muscles. This machine will help you gain this hard waist, but to get the thick muscle you need to increase your proteinYep, I mentioned the word 'thick' If you are hoping this will make your skinny waist smaller, it wont, in fact your waist will become thicker, why? Because you are gaining tonality and muscle.so to sum up, yes, it tones, yes it hardens, but to see any results the weight needs to drop via diet & exercise Its that magic combination of this belt and weight loss that will really give you the edge.p.s. if a guy with a six pack tells you he does 200 situps a day - he's lying! This machine three times a week will do it(I shouldn't say that as im a personal trainer DOH!! heehee)

I was very sceptical about this product but after swimming, running & circuit training sessions for a large part of my life with no six pack I was willing to take the chance. Within days I had a noticable toned stomach & now about 6 weeks in have a nice toned stomach, very flat and rock solid abs area. I don't have the six pack but due to my hectic life style I havn't managed to wear it everyday, hoping with continued use I'll get there. I'm a very athletic individual & had no really stomach fat, & I don't think this product will do anything for someone who is fat looking to loss weight as this isn't what it's designed for. I zoomed though the programmes to the max within two weeks thanks to my years of training meaning my body was well adapted to this workout. My biggest problem is that the velcro strip isn't long enough for my small waist, although the product says it's suitable for my small waist measurement, as a result I can't get the belt as tight as I'd like and the belt becomes undone if I'm performing tasks that involve to much movement. In summary an amazing product if you are lean and just can't target those beloved abs in your everyday workouts. For those looking for a mircale weight loss, a mircale doesn't exist and this product will just be a waste of your money & will soon my thrown in the corner with the treadmill, cross trainer, spinning/stretching/motorised/levatating other devices you've bought in the past hoping u get thin with no effort.

I am a 44 year old female and I have had a Slendertone Ab Toning Belt for about 12 years. I try to use it 3-4 times a week and there are periods when I don't use it for several months. This belt really works wonders for me, i never had love handles butI notice when I haven't used it for a few months the side of my waist thickens and I lose definition. Also my tummy area again looks loose and it is surprising the difference this makes to my overall posture. Within a week of using this product again I can see a difference, I really would recommend this product it is great!!I am going to write separate reviews for these items but I just wanted to add briefly that I bought a males arm system which I have been using for two months now and so far I am not impressed at all,I contacted Slendertone to see if I should of purchased the female one instead but they informed me that they both work in exactly the same way except the men had the added bonus of the bicep pads...I will continue use and review again in a couple of months. And finally I purchased the female face two weeks ago and I am really surprised I can see a difference already. My main concern was jowls and I am so pleased with the results so far it seems very good for the short amount of time I have had it? I have used it every day so far and I do use it on the maximum lift setting 99. I will use it for another month and revise my review but so far I am extremely pleased with it.

I managed to get one of these belts cheaply on Ebay. I'm a size 8-10 woman, I work out regularly and I was already slim before I started using it, but doing sit-ups at the gym didn't seem to be enough to give me definition as I've always carried a little belly fat around my midriff. I noticed changes immediately. The slight 'love handles' on my waist started to go after a few sessions and the general flabbiness of my abdomen became noticeably less. I've been using the belt for four weeks now and my friends have started commenting on how I've got abs! As four weeks is only half the recommended time to achieve anything substantial, I'm excited to see how I'll look after eight weeks.Downsides of using this belt are that the pads seem to wear out fairly quickly if you're using it every day as I do, although I'll take advice that I've seen in these comments and keep them moist with salt water. Other than this, I'd totally recommend buying a slender tone belt if you want to look more defined. The slimmer you are, the faster this will happen, but I'd say that even if you're not, you can't lose by using one of these. My stomach muscles are so much stronger now that I can do exercises which were impossible for me before I started using it. I'm actually surprised by the results because I only half expected it to work and it's really exceeded that expectation.

I still can't quite believe that I bought this but I am so so thankful that I did.I'm quite physically fit and I go to the gym/swim 4-5 times a week and eat moderately healthily, although I never had very clear abs, let alone a six pack. Since I got the Slendertone that has definitely changed. I have to be honest and say that I've never been completely dedicated to forcing myself to do crunches for 20 minutes every day, or endless situps, hence why I've never really seen results. When I got the Slendertone, the results were almost immediate. Admittedly, I still don't have a six pack but then again I've had it less than 6 weeks. It's simple to use. 20-30 minutes every day, depending on the programme (which it chooses for you and changes as you use it more). Remembering to do that every day is probably the most difficult thing about it. I've noticed significantly more defininition since I've been using it.The only negative I'd have about it is the feeling of using it. It's a mix between a tingle and small electric shocks, but you get used to that after a few tries. And the pads are quite expensive too. Otherwise, I would definitely recommend.

This product definitely works!I used to have the more expensive one of the these- the belt just for women with the separate charger. But now i have this, and within 2 weeks i saw a difference.Note though that this isn't for those with a spare tyre around the belly, i'm quite slim anyway, just a bit curvy around the edges and needed some toning up- so if you're built about average slim and just have a bit of a soft belly, this will work a treat for you.it won't work if you have an actual belly hanging out there though...I'm looking very toned now- i use it about 4-5 times a week- and this is perhaps the 5th week now... good buy!OH... and just a tip, the pads don't last very long with their stickiness,so instead of spending too much money on extra pads, make sure you buy ' 2x100ml Original ABGYMNIC Highly Conductive Gel ' ...very cheap and goes a lonnnnng way- just a dollop on the pad to keep conductive. Not messy, and the gel is gone once you've finished. I'm not even through the first bottle yet (but pads ended quickly).

love this product, i use it twice a day every day once in the morning and once before bed. visible improvement within 2 weeks.only thing i could fault about it is the pads are cold when you put them on :)3x AAA bateries will last about 2 weeks this way, im hoping that duracell's will last longer or ill end up buying rechargable batteries or something. the flex max came with 6 so its good for the first 2x sets of pads.if you only have it on a lower power im sure the batteries will last longer though.I start on about 60 then go up to 75-90 after the first 5-10 minutes depending what im feeling like, sometimes i forget though as i use it while reading a book or playing video games.if your up to the challenge of going up to the 90's i'd reccomend lyeing on your back because if your sitting it is a little uncumfortable at this level.im not a fitness nut either, i used to go to the gym but dont have time to go any more so this is a nice shortcut to keep my gut in check.i cant fault it though, its simple and easy to use.

Hi I purchased a Slendertone max flex for men.I thought what the heck give it a shot.I work out 5-6 days a week, and am fairly fit.so to add to my workout I purchased this. The answer is you have to work out and have a good healthy diet to see results.(Dont drink booze, that will really wreck you adbs)I have been using it a week and have notice flatter and tighter abs.I use it three times a day 30 minutes in the morning the same in the afternoon and a third in the evening,so yes work out and you will see results,I doubt it would work if you sit on the couch eating chips and dips watching TV,so if you are expecting results, and do nothing to help yourself in keeping fit forget it,it is a great aidif you plan to do complementry exercise. So get it if you work out,if you are planningto go to the gym get a bit fit first get rid of the kg's then get one .Good luck

I'm very pleased with this purchase, in fact it's the only product I've ever bothered to review on Amazon, simply because I believe it deserves more than 4 stars and wanted to add my 5 star review to the list. Anyone who gave it 1 star, they either must have gotten a faulty model or they weren't using it daily.I use it once a day most days and after a month, my abs are definitely more defined! I actually have obliques for the first time too :) Quite exciting. So if you use it once a day, in a month, you will definitely notice the difference. I also have mine on quite a low setting (50ish for most of the 30 min, then move it up at the end)so if you can tolerate the higher settings you'll see results faster I'm sure.TLDR; BUY IT!
