The TENS is delivered in a box which contains the TENS machine; A belt clip to hold it onto clothes; 3x AAA batteries; 2 cables with 4 electrode studs and 4 sticky patches plus a comprehensive instruction book in several languages. The patches are easily connected to the electrode studs (like press studs), they are placed directly onto the skin and can be re-used about a dozen or so times (often more) before they need replacing. Replacement patches are readily available on Amazon at reasonable prices and in several sizes. (As long as they have the studs on them you can use them with this TENS). The machine is very easy to use and has a good range of programs. You can use one of three modes; TENS (Electrical stimulation of nerve tracts -for pain) EMS (Electrical stimulation of muscle tissue) and Massage mode. There are 12 programs for pain relief; 32 for EMS and 20 massage programs. Pictures in the instruction booklet show where to place the electrodes for best results in each program. The TENS has only 8 buttons on it (On/Off; Up and down arrows on each side of the Menu and Enter buttons and a key lock to lock the program you wish to use) and is very easy to operate. You shouldn't use the electrodes on the front of the chest but they can be used almost everywhere else. There is a warning with the product NOT to use the machine if you have a pacemaker; Metal implants; insulin pump and its recommended that you don't use it if you have a high temperature, are pregnant, have cancer or epilepsy or acute cardiac arrhythmia.Anyone who suffers chronic pain should try a TENS machine, this is my third, I have two Boots own brand that cost a little bit more than this one and when my arthritis and rheumatic pains flare up I am so glad that these work. I don't know how they work but the certainly do. I was in agony when I bought my first machine and had to have surgery on both my hands and shoulder. I have severe arthritis in my knee and hips and use the machine at least three or four times a week on different areas of my body. The machines are so good that I have bought another 4 for family members. This is a well made product on par with the Boots models that I use in fact I can't find any difference between them except this one is slightly cheaper.

This is a bit of a good one in some ways but not in others for me. Firstly the display is clear and easy to read and also with it being digital you can see straight away if you have it on the right setting for yourself. No having to slide open the handheld unit to see if on the right channel etc as the display shows it up clearly. One of my previous non digital ones didn’t and had to open it every now and again to check to see if on right setting. So yes this wins hands down and a positive point on that score. What wasn’t quite so good though were the sticky pads, they just don’t seem to be as sticky as others I’ve used. This really is an easy to set up item and instructions clear and does come with the relevant batteries needed to get up and running straight away.Does it relieve pain? Well I wouldn’t say it rids it or gets rid of it but if wanting to try to carry on your everyday life and try something other than medication, using this alongside anything prescribed. Does seem to help take your mind off your pain levels as they get almost fizzed out of your mind whilst it is doing its job. So that intense pain you might have like myself suffering with fibromyalgia gets to be put on a more level playing field and using a tens machine helps to relieve some feelings. Not get rid of them totally but help reduce the pain signals. What I would say is before rushing out and buying one as expensive if then used once and found not to be a liker of it. Some don’t like the feelings it gives or the fact that if you forget to switch it off and touch the pads you get one heck of a shock believe me. Could be worth asking at your doctors to see if they have one to loan you. It happens at times you go see a physio and they tell you to get one but usually loan you one first to see if any help. This device does seem well made and not flimsy but not able to fit as discreetly onto my belt as the light on the display can be seen. On non digital ones you just tend to get a tiny red dot light. This does look trendier though than the old style black ones and lighter in weight too. A negative though is price expensive so look out for it on offer.

A neat, easy to use and effective unit, so why the loss of a star? Well, the pack only comes with one set of four electrodes, so you're immediately on that train of having to order more, the electrodes which come with it are also quite super sticky, removing them they're almost (but not quite) spent, so one or two uses and you're going to have to buy more, its just a little disappointing and detracts from an otherwise absolutely great bit of kit.Selection of your program, the clear to read back lit LED shows where to place the electrodes, you can then affix the simple to connect wires and off you go. Though the unit controls the pattern of the programme it's running you have separate control (on the right)of how string a current is used. With a fresh pair of batteries this strength (from 3 x AAA) is quite surprising, at just over 33% strength it had quite a kick, it's really impressive, but you can tone it down to fit your needs, all in all the whole package is lovely to work with.Connections are made with a firm press home connection, the wires themselves are plastic moulded, so not going to break easily, the press-studs are nice and firm to the electrodes. On the whole the controls are easy and quick to get used to, however, it was a little hard to explain to an older user "you press and hold the ON button to turn it off", this struck them as very odd - though it's pretty normal to everyone else, so beware.Battery life seemed fine, we ran over two hours of programmes with no problem on the initial AAA and they're still going strong now days later.Programmes run to a length of time, the display shows the countdown, and all in all the display is nice and clear to read anyway, there's a belt-loop clip included to hold it firmly to your waist, so moving whilst running the unit is no problem. It really would be perfect if it came with 10 or 20 electrodes, rather than immediately making it patently clear you're going to have to buy more.

I have been using a Med-Fit 3® Digital Dual Channel TENS Machine for almost 2 years for pain relief after a car accident. The aforementioned machine has 4 small sticky electrodes and so it can be positioned around a particular spot or it can be used for wide-ranging relief. By having two different channels for the pulse variances, which the user sets, you can create any intensity you want, there are no pre-sets. The machine is also connected to the control box by wires and overall it works very well. When this item came up on the Vine programme I thought I would jump at the chance of owning a "better"/more expensive machine.Firstly, the control centre is quite small and unobtrusive. The major difference with this Tens machine over the MediFit is that the 4 sticky pads are slightly larger. This allows for a greater area of stimulation/pain control. To some, this will not matter, with acute pain in one area, you will want all the electrode heads close together, so as to alleviate specific pain in a small area. With childbirth, there is a more general pain over a larger area (thank you Mrs C) and so the larger pads are far more ideal. The device appears to be very well made and is certainly less flimsy than my original machine. The modes of stimulation are designed to both stimulate and ease painful muscles. If you find Tens machines help your pain, you will find this very useful.Overall this is a great machine and it does relieve pain whilst stimulating the muscles. Whilst there are niggles (the heads are a bit slimy) I am still happy to Recommend this product.

The Beurer EM49 Tens Machine is a handheld device for topical pain relief and muscle stimulation. It is a very effective tool. It comes with four sticky pads and two sets of electrodes that securely pop onto the pads. These are plugged into the Tens machine. There is also a clear instruction manual setting out how to place the electrodes onto the pain site to be treated . The machine is powered by three batteries, included. The display and set up of the programs is clear and explains, which program works on particular parts of the body. This also shows on the screen. The timing of the program can be adjusted from 20 to 30 minutes. You are also in control of the intensity of the machine, which can be adjusted at the touch of a button.I had a heavy fall on my left arm and shoulder, trapping a nerve. I used the Tens machine on it. It can be used on the same part of the body after a break or rest of at least 30 minutes in between. I found it to be very helpful in reducing the pain. I feel sure it sped up my recovery.I haven't used the EMS or Electrical Muscle Stimulation programs as yet, so cannot comment upon them until I do.

My favourite thing about this unit is the screen. It is large and bright and the backlighting makes everything super clear. It displays everything you need to know including positioning, which I've never seen before even on units cost twice as much. The buttons are also wellmade and clear to read, unlike the cheaper units out there which can be a nightmare to understand. In terms of the range of treatments, this has all the main functions you would expect, including both TENS and EMS. There are 20 pre-programmed treatments and you can set up several of your own as presets. This offers a lot of flexibility. One major downside is that this is battery only. A mains adapter would be a great addition, hopefully the new model will have this option. The batteries will last for many hours of treatment; for me, that was a week or so. Use rechargeables to save yourself some money.Overall this is one of the better TENS I've used over the past ten years, and is now my favourite portable unit. Four stars.

I suffer from diaphragmatic endometriosis. One of the symptoms of this is referred nerve pain to my shoulder, as well as extremely painful menstrual cramps. This thing has been a lifesaver in providing pain refleif for this without me needing to take lots of painkillers (which evenitably upset my stomach after a period of time). The multiple pad placement options and replacement pad sizes allow lots of different options for pain relief (meaning for instance I can use on my back and front simultaniously for cramps) - and the different settings mean you can experiment to find which type of pulse provides most effective releif. having used tens for a while now I find switching settings regularly prevents the effects from 'wearing off'.The display is large and bright, which is brilliant. Only complaint is that it beeps loudly when you're selecting options, which tends to irritate my partner if I get a late night flareup...

Tried this in desperation as iv suffered badly with pain since herniated disc in my lumbar and it doesn’t get rid of all the pain but it definitely reduces it sometimes by about half which as you probably know if you’re reading this then half is a lot so I’m really happy I took the risk in buying it.although I’ve read a lot of people saying tens didn’t work for them. The machine itself is well made and the screen is really nice compared to a lot of others.the settings are really easy to do and everything is simple after reading the book for the descriptions.the screen also shows where to put the pads but you can experiment anyway.pads last ages too if using a tiny bit of tens conductive gel.reallynice machine and small too.id try it because even if it helps a bit it’s worth it

This an excellent two channel TENS and EMS machine. So easy to use even if you don’t have the manual on hand, the screen with the human body will indicate what areas and what programs to select. A lot of people complain about the included electrodes and I agree with all of them. I don’t think this should deduct a star, because if you are buying this machine for the long run, you will have to buy new ones soon anyway. Look for beurer compatible electrodes, AXIOM. You can get larger or square ones, with a good conductive gel, this machine is an amazing value for money, specially compared to the Compex machines. Small, light and if you use rechargeable AAA batteries you don’t have to worry about a built in battery ever failing.

This has been a godsend. I have sever pain issues and struggle at times to even stand up straight! This little set has helped me no end It is so easy to set up - simply attach the sticky pairs of pads to the body part you have pain in, and attach. Turn up the frequent to suit, and slowly but surely, pain relief occurs. The unit then chips onto your belt or number as needed. It isn't perfect - the pads are re-useable to a point but do tend to lose their 'stickiness' easily, and the different programmes seem confusing initially; but I've found the settings that work for me and I'm happy.A good alternative to long term pain medication and easy to use. Recommended.

My aging Boots bt2 finally ran out of replacement electrodes. There are many cheaper machines out there ,one of which I tried and returned ..but this is a seriously good even being twice the price it is well worth the money . This is extremely versatile with a plethora of programs . Some presets others user customisable . Looks and feels a quality piece of equipment. User guide is clear inspite of the numerous options in 10mins you will have a good idea how this works. Oh and it works very well. Plenty of intensity levels if required. Uses standard 3.5 mm stud electrodes . Should last many years .

Good product from a good company. Does what is advertised.Pain relief is relative as it takes a few tries to get right but overall it does appear to have an effect.Massage function is really good and I found it very relaxing. Can't comment to much on the ems function but it seams to do the job.The product is easy to use and feels and look of good quality.Repacleble batteries are a bit of a negative but nothing major. Only other negative is the fact that the pads need replacing after a certain amount of use.Overall for the money I'd recommend it.

Good, attractive piece of equipment. It has 3 important uses - massage, tens pain relief and emf body toning. It isn't the cheapest on the market but offers 3 separate uses, all in one machine. So probably worth the price if you need all three. I like it! Excellent pain relieve and massage choices. The connection electro leads for the pads didn't last long before it started playing up. Luckily, they are sold on Amazon, but at £20, not cheap to replace. Probably the main downside to it.

A friend borrowed and didn’t return my last decent TENS machine. This one is equally as good. The TENS function is what I use and the programs are clear and work well. The vibration feelings are pleasant.Contrast this to the multitude of £30ish ones that all look the same. The electricity from them can feel like you are being shocked! I had one between the first TENS machine and this one and it is nowhere near as good.Worth the money

Other than the slightly confused display, which won`t work for anyone with dodgy sight, the TENS itself is excellent. I use these often, and was recommended to do so by my Pain Relief Specialists, and I do enjoy the "numbness" they offer, which just takes enough off the pain away from my back to allow me to do things for while. It`s compact and can fit in a pocket, so easy to wear unobtrusively.
