Firstly I must say I have used TENS machine before so had an idea of the feeling it gives when pulsating etc. Usually a machine that has pads sticky ones not a cuff style like this one. Suffering with pain in knee was willing to try anything to help relieve the pain caused by nerve damage due to lower back issue. The cuff style one I like as not as fiddly in some ways, and with not having the sticky pads that can come off easier in some ways to use. However more difficult in others. Also add into the fact the noise the Velcro gives when applying and taking off. Hopefully over time will not sound quite so noisy (dog hates it so barks at it, so not a totally relaxing experience).I also got the feeling it was more akin to some sort of bondage wear, not that I’ve ever used any but gave me that idea with the large cuff and amount of Velcro. The cuff well I thought it would be more like a blood pressure one but I was wrong, you have to make sure it is right in the place it should be. With the two small black circles inside the cuff touching the knee. If not it won’t work properly. Must admit first time had to adjust it as no feeling of pulsating coming from it. Also you have to wet the two small dots and pads inside of cuff to provide a connection. Plus using the press studs if slready suffering knee pain and fastening these well it can hurt and yes it did. So much so husband that got this in place for myself got a slight whack think it was also something to do with him adjusting the setting to the highest. Then attach the hand held control. Did wonder if it would be long enough lay in bed when using this and found it was long enough switched on and did the programme that has a mixture of pulses in it and must admit it felt dammed sharp and hurt at first. Yes the programme set A on a number 8 wakes you up for sure and lasted for half an hour. The first ten minutes pretty intense and felt stronger than the traditional sticky pad tens I usually use.The hand held device is easy to use but for me the digital display is too small (glasses required by myself to read it). If thinking of suggesting this or buying one for someone do bare in mind it is hard to read if any eyesight issues. Can attach to side of trousers pjs etc as has a handy clip on side of it.Now did this come off? No it stayed in place, no movement whatsoever, the downside is that I felt not able to move about and carry on doing normal tasks unlike using a sticky pad one. Plus clothes, jeans or other tighter style trousers a no no as it is a bulky knee support pad styled one. Reminds me more of the ones you can get as knee supports but with the added benefit of tens machine in it.Batteries do come with it three triple As,so can be used right away.I was sceptical at first and with an open mind, plus pian killers not touching the pain thought what did I have to loose?Well I am so so pleased I actually got more sleep last night as knee not half as bad pain wise as usual. That half hour of feeling more like I was in some sort of bizarre bondage film paid off. It’s black and bright yellow/orange but my god it helped me. Not used on elbows yet. Being a fibromyalgia sufferer at some point it will be needed for elbow, for now though the knee is main priority and it hits the spot. Well as long as it is still in place and put in right spot. Easy to tell really is no tingly pulsating feel it’s in wrong place and needs adjusting.I suppose it will get a doddle to use bit like anything first few times using it, you have to get used to using it then it will become so easy to apply.I like it plus makes my lie down for the session unlike the pad, ones where I still function doing stuff.Plus at least with this one not as easy to shock yourself using it as long as you turn it off before removing it or wire from control panel. The sticky pad one I have forgot I had one went to touch back feeling something there and well all I can say is that there was a lot of “fudge in hell” whilst I was, holding the pad and then transferring it to other hand. At least with this one that can’t be done. The main important thing is it worth the money? I think yes it is, for me at least with getting those extra hours sleep just in one night dammed worth it and think anyone else suffering knee pain should give it a try. Just a shame that you can’t try these kind of things before you buy them. Unlike the traditional tens machines that some hospitals and GP surgeries let you have the use of for a time to then hand back. At least then you know if you get on with the device or not and can then work out if worth buying one.A four star for this due to me not being able to feel like I could carry on doing my normal stuff wearing this on my knee. Plus if hot weather the knee or elbow might be more inclined to go a bit sweaty as it does warm the area too on the setting I had it on.So yes bondage party feeling, sweaty knee area and foot slightly looking swollen for first ten minutes after use but main thing more sleep had so a winner in my eyes for sure.

I got this for my husband who has severe osteoarthritis in both knees. He already owns a small hand held tens machine which he uses on a regular basis. He is, therefore, used to using such a machine and does find them helpful. He also uses pain killers but because of side effects, it is always wise to have a drug free method of pain relief. He felt that it was worth getting this particular tens machine because of the combination of tens machine and support. The hand held machine is attached to the body with gel pads. These become less sticky over time and the pads will come off (although you can buy replacement pads). The advantage of the Beurer machine is that the electrodes are contained within the support so they can't fall off.The support fits around the knee very easily and stays snugly in place. It is comfortable to wear. The machine is very easy to use. There is a choice of 3 programmes. I think it is a case of trying out the different programmes and learning which is best for you. It is also simple to adjust the level of intensity to suit yourself. In theory you could wear this and move about as normal but it is too bulky to fit under trousers. In any case I feel that you get the best outcome if you sit or lie down and relax while you are using the machine - give it a chance to work. If your pain is specifically in your knee or elbow this is a very useful gadget to have. If your pain is generalised and affects various parts of your body, it would probably be better to buy a hand held device are these are more flexible. For example, my hand held device has 6 programmes including programmes for the back, the shoulder, the hand, the leg & joints. Tens machines are definitely a very useful method of pain relief.

I have recently been suffering from a stiffness behind the knee, causing pain tenderness, which I put down to lack of activity during the 'Lockdowns". A friend recommended I try a TENS machine.I chose this product as replacement pads are not required. The built-in pads are just right and only need a little water on them to enable conductivity of the electrical pulses. I have been amazed at how immediate the relief is. After my first session I could move more easily and after use for 5 days I have flexibility and movement in my knee again - with no pain!.I find Level 15, of the 20 levels available, to be right for me and Program B is my favourite. Program B is a 25 minute session and works at 4 impulses per second.I did not find Program A to be the problem noted by a previous purchaser, where - after 10 minutes there is a step-up in intensity (but I just dropped to level 14 at that point) there is then a step-down to a relaxing massage setting at 20 minutes - where I increased the intensity again. Program A is a 30 minute session. The material is a quality fabric and will last. Adjustable velcro straps mean that it can be used on a vast range of body sizes.Sit, relax, enjoy. Use it when writing emails, reading or watching tv. You can use it whilst walking around and the control box has a clip for attaching to clothes but if using on your knee it is a bit bulky thus restricting movement.I would recommend this product.

I ordered this TENS cuff because I've suffered from arthritis since childhood. I do see my GP regularly, but he is forward-thinking and is pleased to encourage me to try complementary methods in order to reduce pain and other side-effects.I was quite new to TENS therapy and I did find it all a bit challenging at first. The velcro fastening is quite tough for arthriticky hands until you 'get the knack' - maybe something the manufacturers should think about. At first I didn't think the cuff was working. I didn't have the experience to recognise how it feels, and I made my knees really sore by overdoing the strength setting and length of time.I really suggest that anyone new to this kind of item tries it on a low setting at first, with an open mind. The blurb suggests you can wear this cuff whilst moving about, and I can see that if you have a really serious situation you might be happy to keep it on around house or hospital, whilst gently moving. For me, it feels too bulky for that. Also I believe quite strongly that the effects of TENS and similar technologies are strengthened by deep relaxation or techniques such as yoga nidra, so I personally like to sit down for 15 minutes with the cuff in place.I believe that this cuff has reduced my chronic pain considerably and it's now my 'go to' several times a week. During 'bad periods' I use it twice a day.Excellent item, if a little unwieldy.

I have had assorted TENS machines/ devices before and they have worked with success and they worked on a sticky self adhesive pad that is fixed the to body or where the pain is, so this is quite a culture change in that respect as this is ‘tailor made’ for either a knee or elbow and is affixed by Velcro straps and once you read the instructions, basic as they seem to be it has to be said considering other instructions given with basic TENS devices in the past, it all becomes quite clear as to how to affix or more to the point, get it right otherwise it won’t work as its supposed to as there are small aligning marks that have to be lined up but its not difficult.I tired this on my knee and once applied after a bit of jiggling about, it was ‘lift off’ time as they say in the space shuttle business. After the usual little bit of trial and error, it worked - the trick, if there is one, to get it tailored to your own requirement as with all these sort of devices, no two people are the same in their needs. Once I got my ‘pattern’ sorted, and it didn’t take all that long in real terms, it works well and the pain in my knee is now at bay or at least very much better than it has been and I think with occasional sessions with this device it will be very beneficial based on the initial start as outlined and therefore I will give this five stars.

The EM29 Knee & Elbow 2-in-1 Tens Pain Relief Machine & Cuff is a fabulous little unit. It's a little complicated to get set up but once you've read the instructions thoroughly and followed them step by step it becomes fairly self explanatory, you just must remember to moisten both the electrode pads and your skin for it to work properly. Sighting the Cuff on the elbow can also be a little tricky as you have to make sure the electrodes stay attached to the Cuff while holding it in place with one hand and using the other wrap The elastic round The arm to fasten The Velcro in place. The unit has 20 intensity setting but once I got to number 9 I couldn't go any higher without causing pain in my arm.It also has two different types of electric stimulation the first is quite comfortable but the second which is described as burst I find most uncomfortable. The stimulation provided by the machine does a great job of easing the pain in my elbow so overall I am very pleased with it and will be happy to recommend it to others. Drug-free Pain ReliefI have had severe knee pain for many years due to an old injury. I have been referred for physio on many occasions but to no avail, nothing was helping my pain. I have tried other methods such as heat patches or spray and also freeze sprays. I decided to try this Knee and Elbow Tens but was very sceptical. I had heard of Tens before but did not believe it would even touch the pain I have in my knee. I was very wrong. This little machine has been great and helped me to get through the toughest pain. The cuff fits perfectly around my knee without restricting movement and is so comfortable. It has a Velcro fastening so is totally adjustable. There are four training programmes and the intensity can be adjusted to suit. There are 20 intensity levels so it is very easy to find the perfect level to suit your pain. I am so glad I found this little gem as I've found it very useful and is small enough to carry around to use whenever it is needed. It has helped ease my pain on numerous occasions and I now would not be without it.

I used the Beurer EM29 on my knee, what an excellent drug free pain relief it is. It took a little while to get used to the machines program, as it was very strong pulsing treatment ( I had to find the right strength for me) It was easy to set the right strength and timing on the machine. The strapping was very secure, which meant after the first couple of times of sitting and getting used to the programme as it ran. I was able to move around and the strapping stayed just where I wanted it to. I also was able to increase the strength as I got used to it. As for the treatment itself - it was amazing it really helped me with my knee pain. I have tried other machines and hadn’t had much success!!!Even when I had got them to the highest settings they really didnt do a lot!!! I would highly recommend this machine, I can’t sing it’s praise high enough, it was absolutely amazing. I will always make sure I have it at hand before increasing my tablets [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I got this for arthritic knee pain and used it every night for 3 months but it didn't make much difference. It is comfortable in use and easy to apply, the velcro straps come right round and cover the studs where the wires attach. I tried programme 1 and for 10 minutes it was fine but then suddenly there is such a surge in the pulse as to be quite frightening. I didn't work out why that was necessary. I then tr ied programme 2 for 25 minutes on level 15 which was bearable and not intrusive but like every other tens I have ever had it doesn't work for me, I had high hopes but they weren't realised. If you are someone who can get relief with this type of tens then I would recommend it as it fits comfortably round the knee, uses water on the pads and skin. It's simple to put together and the velcro straps are a good length, they need to be firmly pulled round the upper and lower part of the knee to get good contact. On these points I would give it 5 stars, but not for me personally.

I've used a TENS machine before and I know that they work. I've never seen one specifically designed for knee/elbow before so, with flooring to lay and the resultant knee problems, I thought I'd give this a try. It's well made, needs no assembly and is easy to fit on the knee. I found the instructions very brief, particularly when explaining that the knee/pad needs to be damp when fitting. Nowhere does it explain which bit of the pad needs to be moist. I struggled, even having used TENS machines previously. I took an educated guess and once I had it fitted I was all ready to go.The controller was, again, not straightforward. But with a little trial and error, I got there and the result was brilliant.Almost instant pain relief with no pills!I think I would have given 5 stars but for the points above. If you've never used a TENS machine before, you may struggle a bit but the end result is worth it.

I was happy to see that this uses velcro to fit the knee or elbow, allowing it to be used by all shapes and sizes. It was pretty simple to set up and put on, though instructions were basic. It fit nice and snug! There are three different programs to choose from, and I think it's trial and error to find the one that suits you. As I have used a basic tens machine previously, I pretty much knew what to expect. I found that when on the elbow I could walk around whilst using it, which is very convenient. But it was just a little too bulky under trousers for my knee. But I did take the opportunity to sit down and rest whilst it worked! It's very handy that it's battery operated too. So it's easy to take with you.Very pleased with this product [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Excellent product. After having 3 surgeries for cartilage damage in my knee, compounded by an increase in arthritis, I was looking for something that would help with pain relief other than drugs. A friend mentioned TENS and I found this wrap around support. After just one 30min session I noticed a marked difference in the pain level in my knee and had an undisturbed nights sleep after my second session. I will be using this regularly from now on. It is easy to use and to understand. I do feel though that the increase from 4hz to 110hz should be a gradual increase rather than a sudden jolt as my first use caught me by surprise and have learned to start on a very low setting and gently increase it over the 30 min period to a level that is comfortable.Overall an excellent product.

Have been having issies with my knees being painful, and have used a TENS machine on back, so to have one for the knees and elbows is fab.Comes in a box with batteries so is ready to go.Pros: everything you need to get going, easy to follow instructions and easy to use. Can use up to 4 programmes and desired intensity of the pulses. Does not remove pain completely, but makes slightly easier. Lightweight controller which can be attached by a clip on reverse to clothing. Be aware that the intensity of pulses can change from little short pulses to slightly more intensive longer waves.Would highly recommend if you have knee or elbow issues.Cons: none. Does as it says on the box, could not comment for elbow as no pains there. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

My own physiotherapist in a box! I’ve had knee pain for years and wish I’d discovered this sooner. Very easy to setup and start using. You must remember to slightly dampen your knee and the built in pads, two little metal clips connect the control pad to the knee, once connected you select the program you want and the strength of the program, it has an inbuilt timer which counts down the program and automatically turns it off once the program is finished. You can increase or decrease the intensity of the the tens machine, I would recommend starting with a Low setting until you get used to the sensation. I found that I needed to use it regularly to gain the full effects but it has helped with the pain levels.[This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I chose this to review to see how it go on with tennis/golfers elbow. I have used tens machine previously to mixed effect. This fits well and is fully adjustable and comfortable. The pulses can be varied from a tingle to almost a full contraction. Somewhere in the middle was good and I ran this for ten minutes twice a day and after about a week I noticed a lasting difference. After initial use the pain reduces and then returns but after daily use I found the pain staying away longer. I have combined this with physio of lifting a bag with tins of beans in it by the wrist whilst my arm is flat. I do that before the Tens.It may be the combination but now after several weeks there is a very noticeable improvement in daily activities.
