I was sceptical about zapping my midriff with electricity but having read the clinical trials and because I'm a lover of new technology, I decided to give it a go.They say it 'tingles' and you get used to it, I think it hurts! and as you progress through the program to maintain potential benefits the hurt does not get any less!It is important to remember that the benefits in terms of waist reduction in the trials are mostly thought to be due to increased resting tone of the muscles binding the tummy in and NOT due to loss of fat so if one is hoping to make fat blubber disappear then will MOST LIKELY be disappointed. But if you're happy to put up with pain and reasonably lean already then thepain will yield some benefits (I hope!).The main benefit of this device is likely to be for those with back pain or other mechanical joint problems preventing them from exercising abdominal muscles.Although the adage 'no pain, no gain' still holds true, it may help reduce or avoid further wear and tear on painful joints.I would also add that a reasonable diet and exercise regime is also required to get the most benefit and also cultivate a lifestyle that will help maintain any increased tone/strength in the long term which is the real challenge!Slendertone is an established EMS device manufacturer which is one of the market leaders and has been well studied in scientific journals. The device also feels well made and good quality. I think these are important factors when you are strapping yourself to something delivering (painful) electricity to your body on a regular basis!I will update in 8 weeks if I can stick with the pain and report back.Note the gel pads supplied do need changing after approx. 6 weeks so factor this cost in to the already expensive device.■ (the long awaited) UPDATE - 23rd November 2019:Incremental gains but worthwhile addition to a sensible diet/exercise regime.’I have used the device regularly (4 – 6 times /week) more than 4 months now, progressing through the programmes and gradually increasing intensity over the time (you will build up a tolerance over time). The device has become a natural part of my routine, I usually use as a warm-up pre-weight trainig or just on an ‘off-day’ whilst reading/watching TV/eating or whatever else.Unfortunately I have not unleashed the ripped 6-pack which no doubt lurk beneath the subcutaneous fat ...yet.However, I do feel this device has helped me increase my resting tone and anterior abdominal core strength, helping with a reduction in waist of a few cm’s. Whilst it is difficult to be acertain exactly what role the device has played (I try to incorporate a healthy diet and 3 – 4 x weekly exercise regime as an additional to this device).I think it has certainly played a bizarre 'pavlovian' conditioning role in keeping health and fitness at the forefront of my mind: helping me avoid the occasional extra sweet treat and stick to my exercise routine, by the sheer physical stimulation the device regularly provides. In a strange way the device is quite an addictive tool.I plan to incorporate this device in to my regular routine longer term.▪︎The Benefits:The key features for me have been the fact the belt is very comfortable to wear (not counting the regular electric shock therapy!), the device is discreet allowing you to continue with daily activities, easily charged and holds charge for a decent time (I charge it probably every 2 weeks) and as a bonus the original gel pads are still holding well (I expected to replace by 6 weeks but they're still holding strong at 3 months, though, will probably need to replace in the near future). The instructions provided with the device are very sparse. I would highly recommend downloading the Abs8 instruction manual online – I expected this would be identical to what is in the *box but is actually a far more detailed and useful guide*.The FAQ’s in the slendertone website support section regarding toning intensity (“It should be comfortable but challenging enough to leave you feeling like you’ve had a hard workout.”) as well as the more detailed info on the Abs 8 toning programmes is also well worth a read.Overall I am glad I am using this device and would highly recommend; as long as you understand you will be achieving marginal incremental gains on what you would otherwise do, for free, with sensible diet and exercise. But it is a great motivational tool with the right mindset and also very convenient/easy to fit in to your lifestyle as you can carry on with whatever (unhealthy or resting) activity you were doing anyway!4 stars.I try to leave fair and honest reviews, as I myself, really appreciate a genuine review before I decide on my own purchases.Hope this review helps you decide whether this product is for you. If not, I am happy to answer more questions!

There's a lot of debate over the merit of ab-toning belts and whether they really work. Rarely do people see noticeable results because we don't give them full commitment, only using them when we remember to. Plus, there's the misconception that by using them you'll end up with a glorious six pack. That last bit may even be true, but if, like me, you've got a some middle-aged wobbliness covering your abs then you're not going to see them!I've owned ab-toning belts myself for a long time, my first one being some medieval looking thing that was mains powered and looked more like an interrogation device than for health benefits. For the last few years I've had some cheapo thing I probably got from Aldi maybe, but rarely used it. As part of Amazon’s Vine programme, I was given the opportunity to review this new Slendertone product in return for an honest review, so I've decided to give the product a full and genuine go.For reference, I'm an active 41 year old male that runs/walks approx 5km per day with the dog, and at time of writing I'm 10st 11lbs, 18.5% body fat, BMI (for what it's worth) 22.3. I'm slim, but have always had a wobbly mid-rift no matter how light I've been (as low as 9st 10lbs when I used to race karts).I've been using it for exactly a week now, every day, and it's become part of my evening routine. 20-30 minutes while reading a couple of chapters of my book/playing on my phone, it quickly doesn't become a chore to use it. Once it's been set up for the first time, it take 30 seconds to put it on and get started. So, what do you get in the box? The toning belt, three sealed gel pads, the detachable computer/charger thing, a USB cable and a few basic instructions. The computer thing plugs into a standard USB charger (not supplied) and needs a couple of hours of charge every 2-3 times you use it. The display on the computer shows you battery charge so you know where you stand. The belt has a couple of metal contact points which the gel pads fit over. There are markings on the belt showing exactly where to place the pads, depending on the size of you waist. To attach the pads you peel the stickers off of one side and press them against the belt. The sticker on the other side acts as a dust protector for the gel, which you only take off when you're using the belt, and then replace. The belt secures by velcro and is comfortable to wear. You snap the computer into place and press the power button for a couple of seconds. You can then choose which one of the programmes to go with, followed by the intensity level. You start low and work your way up to a comfortable but challenging level. I tend to go up to around intensity level 70, beyond which it begins to become uncomfortable. You certainly feel the contractions, and your belly is dancing all over the place. It claims to be equivalent to doing approx 120 sit ups/crunches, but we'll see about that. The product claims results will begin to be seen after around 4 weeks of daily use, so it's too early for me to say how good the outcome will be. As a note, and the reason why I can't give a full five stars to the product, the running costs of this ab-toning belt could be potentially high. Slendertone recommend changing the pads after 20-30 uses, and they sell a triple pack of replacement pads for £27. Using it every day will therefore cost you around £9 per month/£108 per year. That's not great economy for something that is effectively a lazy method of doing sit-ups. But, maybe that's an acceptable price to pay for not having to do sit-ups.

So the belt arrived yesterday and I've just used it twice, but I will keep you updated with results and before and after pictures. I have set myself a month's target as I have a very important and special photoshoot booked. Before buying I had to do a lot of research as I was unsure if to buy this one, the older version 7 with the controller or the newer Connect version with the APP.Basics things that might help you. After doing some research...This belt and the connect model both have the same power and specs. The belt design changes a little, but it's minor. So, the main difference is obviously the app.If you need to be reminded to put the belt on, and need that extra push...Choose the Connect one with APP.When training is concerned, I am a little bit more old fashioned and like to go old school. So I chose this one.I don't want the APP to give me a plan... I want to be able to choose my workout mode (strongest PRO one there is) and I want to choose how long I want it on for.The older model, the one with controller is still a classic and very well rated, but this one is more powerful.Hence reason why this one was the one I chose (price difference is also minor). The belt arrives with some battery (3/4) so I recommend you use it until the battery is completely flat and then fully charge.I used a smart USB charging dock and the device beeps and tells you when it's fully charged. That is the time to remove it or the battery could get fried! ;)On the booklet you get some info on the programs, but I have uploaded a screenshot from Slendertone's website, so you can choose your best program.I have done a full session of LEVEL 7 (intense PRO training). And by full session, I mean I have finished the battery on the device. LoLI have done my housework and today's cooking with the device on and it lasted me for around 3 hours +. I did have it on at 80% near the end.The level / % you choose is up to you.But just think that unless you feel it... I mean really feel it... You're not doing anything to the muscles.I could literally see my abs hardening in front of the mirror, ha, ha.Was it comfortable? Definitely not! But I want results and I want them fast LoL (let's leave it as I'm not very patient, ha, ha, ha)Miracle belt? No!Nothing comes without an effort. You need to eat healthily (I recommend you look into intermittent fasting) and you need to exercise (30 minutes of intense training every day is enough-Specially with all of this lockdown-no gym situation going on).A very important tip:Before putting the belt on, place the pads on their places (grid-looking side down/on the belt area).Measure your waist, so you know where to place the side pads (it has three positions depending on your waist size)Clean your skin with rubbing alcohol and a lint-free cotton pad (to remove any skin natural oils and creams/lotions). Otherwise, the pads will last you far less than they should. For now, this is all the information I have. But I will keep you updated ;)

I've tried several of these belts over the years, getting really into using them, starting to see some results and then forgetting them due to RL stuff. They do work, and this is perhaps the most powerful I've had yet.The belt comes with everything you need to get going immediately, bar an actual charger, but you can use any regular USB charger when needed (about 3/4 x 30 min uses in my case). You get pads, the belt and a charging lead, instructions, but no pouch, which seems a bit stingy considering the price of this. Even the older, cheaper models came with pouches. On the other hand, you don't have to use 3/4 batteries like the older model, so in some ways this is greener. You won't see immediate results,as this requires a healthy eating plan, exercise and a commitment to use this regularly. And, there's a discomfort barrier to overcome. Basically, this is a lot more powered than the older models and rather than just some heat and tightening, you feel actual electric shocks and boy, they take some getting used to. I'm a female, 50 and a UK12, with a little tummy pooch that I'm trying to rid myself of. 4 weeks' use has tightened my stomach area, but I've not seen a reduction in inches (the belt fits as snugly as it did from day one, with no additional tightening. And, whilst I'm here, this belt won't fit anyone above, say, a 36inch waist; it's really elasticated, but it'd be pulled to its limits and I'm not sure the velcro would hold), but there is less wobble and there's more 'rigidness' to the area. I won't ever have abs with this, but I do think it's doing me some good and I think my clothes do fit a little better. It's great to be able to use this for free as part of Amazon's Vine programme, but at the price, I'm not sure if Jane or Joe Average will be able to afford it, especially as the pads need replacing often and aren't cheap (btw, leftover pads from my earlier model work fine with this). It's about the cost of a month's food shopping for my 3-person household.

I’ve used this for about 2 weeks now wearing it 4-5 days a week and after getting used to it I think it works really well. I haven’t noticed any reduction in my waistline, but it certainly feels tighter around my stomach and I’m looking forward to seeing more results in the coming weeks. The belt is comfortable to wear, and it doesn’t move around, the pads also stay in position although I haven’t done anything too strenuous to test them fully. There was plenty of adjustment in the belt, but you do need to make sure it’s fitted tightly for it to be effective.I found the instructions for the device itself a bit difficult to understand (mainly as they are just illustrations)so I went on YouTube and watched a video which made things a lot easier. There are 10 different programs to choose from depending on what you are doing like sitting down or exercising, the time per session can vary depending which program you select but you can adjust the intensity of it from 1-100. I started on level 10 as I didn’t know what to expect for the first time, but I’ve since moved it up to 15 and will probably keep going higher in blocks of 5 till it gets too uncomfortable. You can pause/play a session by pressing the power button and the screen shows you various information like your current program, how many sessions you have done, and battery life etc.Overall, I’m very pleased with it so far and will continue to use it to see what results I get. The pads do need replacing but they should last for around 5-6 weeks and you get 3 sets in each replacement pack so its not terribly expensive and it still works out good value compared with other means of exercising. It seems Slendertone has a lot of experience in this area and know what they are doing and I’m happy to recommend this product, if I was to give any advise it would be to make the instructions a bit easier to understand for people new to toning belts.

Pros:- This feels like a quality item.- The computerised unit is held onto the belt magnetically so is easy to take off and put back on.- The belt is secured with Velcro so can be used by a range of sizes and the pads that transmit the electric impulses are adjustable so different size people can make sure they are in the right position to get the most benefit.- Although the impulses are a bit uncomfortable to start with you very quickly get used to them- You certainly feel the belt working and at the end of a session feel as though you’ve had a good work out.- Instructions state you should be able to see results within 4 weeks. As someone who is already fit I am just looking to improve my core definition and have been using it a bit more frequently than recommended. After just 2 weeks I can definitely feel a difference, my core feels firmer.- The battery works well, it lasts for 3 or 4 workouts and only takes 1 hr to recharge.- The belt is quite discreet so could be worn in public, under a shirt if you really felt the needCons:- There aren’t many instructions included with the unit, I had to go on-line for more info and to make sure I was using it properly- The sticky pads that transmit the electrical pulses tear easily. They have plastic covers which you should replace after every use but first time I took the covers off I tore one pad. It still works, but this aspect isn’t as impressive as the rest of the belt.- it is recommended that you change the pads after 20 or so sessions. This works out at a change once a month, so could work out to be quite expensive. The belt isn’t cheap in the first place so it would have been nice to have at least 2 or 3 months worth of pads included.Overall I like this product and it seems to do what it claims. Happy to recommend.

Haven’t used these kinds of belts since you had to put small square sticky pads all over your stomach. You still need to use sticky pads but now there are only 3 of them and the stick to the belt and are reusable.Firstly, the ABS8 Toning Belt is suitable for 24”- 44” waist. The belt is very simply to set up and operate. When you first use the belt, you need to peel off the protective layer from the 3 x gel pads and align them with the markings on the belt. There are markings on the belt for small medium and large waist. There are 3 pads to stick to the belt. One large square one and two large oval pads. The markings are very clear on the belt. Note. The gel pads must cover the metal studs that are on the belt, they are very easy to spot.Once you have attached the pads, remove the RE-USABLE covers from the upper side of the gel pads and keep them safe as you need these to put back on the gel pads after the toning session so you can re-use again. Pads last for 6 weeks and cost £12 for a new set.The belt secures around your waist using Velcro. Once fitted, pop the control on to the front of the belt and select a programme to suit. The higher programmes are very intense so start slowly and work your way up over a few sessions. This toning belt will give you a firmer more toned stomach but only if you use it alongside an active and healthy lifestyle. The belt along will not help you lose weight or belly fat.I really like this tonight belt, it’s very simple to use and I can easily fit in in to my day to day routine.

I ordered the slendertone because my wife, who had one years ago said it would be fantastic. We both wanted to tone our tummy areas, after too long without seriously exercising. She was absolutely right. My wife tried it first when it arrived and was very happy. I tried it a little later and was delighted. I was concerned that the gell pads would stick to the hairs of my male body and be uncomfortable to take off - but it was easy and painless to remove. The battery is easy to charge and will do around 4 sessions per day of 20 minutes each. The recommendation is that you use it for 5 days per week for 20 minutes each so no problem with the charge - and it only takes about 3 hours to charge through a convenient USB charging lead, which we used with our phone plug, but could all have plugged into our computer. The sensation feels a little strange at first - it vibrates and pulses, but you can really feel the affect on you abdominal muscles - the instructions say that 20 minutes is worth over 150 crunches! You quickly get used to it and can turn up the intensity easily on the control system/battery pack on the front of the beltThe belt is slim and light, and can easily fit under a shirt or blouse so can be worn doing almost anything - even going to the supermarket! We are very pleased and are looking forward to the seeing the full results in due course - it is definitely working already.

This is my second toning belt within last 10 years. Over the time quality has been improved indeed. This belt looks very nice, I'm in size 12 and there is still some space left. I think it will fit size 14 ladies and size M men. This belt will only work when you put sticky pads on metal spots on the belt. The plasters / pads will directly touch your skin, spread electro pulses on the middle and on the sides of your belly. I can feel like contractions of muscles and then the wavy sensation when contractions reduces. I feel comfortable on max 45 program setting for now ( didnt use my old belt for few years now) but after couple of weeks I will try to increase the strength.Higher level of the contraction in this belt I would compare to giving birth contractions on early stage of labour. The belt will do the job, definitely will reduce few cm around waistline with regular use (5 days a week for at least 8 weeks).I give 4 stars out of 5 because- the belt would be to small for bigger people who really want to loose some weight around the waistline- the sticky pads will not last to long and should be replaced, which means an extra costs ( my old belt worked without gel pads, only i had to put some liquid / gel on my belly and all worked nicely)- the price is a bit high, having in ming purchase of extra pads.

I’ve been using this for 3 weeks now however I’ve been using it alongside doing a HIT workout routine each day so I can’t actually say that the firming of my abs are entirely down to the belt, I would suggest it’s a bit of both. What I can say is that the belt is incredibly easy to use. The gel pads stick to the pad with a range of possible positions depending on your waist circumference so that they are positioned correctly for your own personal use. For this reason it’s not really feasible to share the belt as I had intended to do with my partner, unless you have similar waist measurements! The control block fits to the belt via three little magnets and charges via a micro-usb.I’ve been getting about 5 sessions from each charge and the power level remaining shows as a symbol of lines on the display. You can choose a programme setting followed by the intensity level via the buttons on the front of the control block and you gradually increase the intensity as you move up through the 4-week programme. I started at level 30 and am now at level 75; 3 weeks in...The stimulation builds up in waves and I actually find it quite pleasant, even relaxing even at the crescendo where I sometimes gasp; it’s extremely satisfying and seeing the abs definition developing is addictively exciting!Really simple to use.

This has some good features. The elecronics are contained in a small box that snaps onto the belt through magnets. It needs to be removed for charging through a micro USB cable but lasts a long time between charges. My unit doesn't cahrge very well though. I have to balance the connector carefully to ensure a good connection. I should return it really. There are a good number of workouts and 100 levels of intesity so you can get it just how you like it.The belt itself has one large conductive pad on the front and two side pads, each sticky and provided with a plastic cover to preserve the stickiness. The pads are presumably replaceable once the stickiness on the body side wears off but it remains to be seen how long the pads will work once the stickiness is gone and wheterhe you can actually find replacements. My main complaint is with a 40" waist (now 38" but not due to the toner belt), I can only just fasten it, so it sort of suggests this is made for people who are already fit. Or maybe it says that this isn't gonna help if you are overweight. Checkout the promo video showing peoiple using it who don't need to improve their fitness. Still it feels like it is helping.Lastly it is very expensive so I'm not sure it's great value for money. However cheaper versions won't be as good as this one.

I've previously used the Slendertone Connect ABS toning belt with good result so was keen to see how this ABS8 differed, also, it has more Programmes. The belt construction is designed to provide more compression, it is different, with a little additional give in the belt, which is just as well, because unless you are stick thin, the belt might come up a little short. I'm not exactly chubby, I will admit I could probably lose a stone, but I take a comfortable 36 inch waist ... I take some comfort in the fact that I don't need the expansion belt, but if anyone from Slendertone reads this ... stick another inch or two on the belt, especially one that is designed to be used when exercising. The pads are pretty much the same across the range,so apart from belt construction, the only real difference is the choice and range of programmes ... 10 on the ABS8 ... 5 on ABS Connect. Must admit I'm a little miffed that you can't access the same range on Connect ABS, but I guess they have to differentiate their products some how.All in all, it's easy to use, I know you get good results if you persist, but in a straight choice, the ABS Connect gives you better feedback and control, and at the end of the day, the results will be similar.Pay your money and take your choice.

I don't normally do reviews but thought I ought to because I am so happy with the results. I have now been using this for nearly 3 months. 5 to 6 times a week. Generally on setting 75 (started on 100)- DO READ THE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING. I must state that I have been carrying out a daily regime of cycling for 30 minutes before and after work followed by push ups. I started with 3 push ups which nearly killed me and have progressed to 50 within 3 months. I also do some sit ups but not enough as I should because I have started relying on the belt more and more. This regime is easy to carry out as long as you can make it part of your daily routine and you include a balanced diet that focusses on removing fat and increasing protein.I have lost 2.5 stone in 3 months - 15 stone 10 down to 13 stone 4 (I am 6'4), but the most exciting thing is that I have a defined stomach which I can definitely say the Belt has impacted on. I hit 50 in Feb and can hand on heart say that my body has never looked this defined. I am no Shwarzenegger but my body is the best it has ever looked and the belt has definitely assisted in getting there....can't wait to see what my summer body looks like in a couple more months! BMI is now 22.7 down from 26.7. I'm just bragging now :)

I've known about these devices for years and often wondered how effective the are, so I was pleased to get this for assessment.I've been using it for about six days now; initially it was a little confusing to set-up as the instructions are pretty vague – a mixture of diagrams and random snippets of instruction in several languages so that one has to search for those in English. The control console has to be charged for 3 hours and the gel pads attached to the inside of the belt; it isn't clear that the pads need to make contact with the skin before the sensors will work, so one has to carefully scrutinize the illustrations to ensure the pads are placed the right way round. The belt itself fitswell-enough with a Velcro fastening; the device in operation vibrates on the three contact points and the intensity and timing is controlled from the console that attaches to the centre of the belt by three magnets. The period of time I've had this is too short to determine how effective it will be, but using it feels quite comfortable and the muscles it attaches to are definitely being stimulated, so I'm happy to continue using it for now.I'm quite pleased with it; replacement pads seem a bit expensive, but if it proves itself, it'll be worth persisting with.

This review is for the the Slendertone ABS 8 Toning belt. The product arrived well package and promptly as expected by amazon.Ok so to start I just wanted to let you know that I have never used a product like this in the past. Generally I have always been a bit suspicious of them working and doing what they say.So this one arrived and I was looking forward to giving it a go. Upon reading the writing on the box I was was hoping it would do the trick and help me shape up my belly area and abs a little.I read the instructions and set it up - very easy. I started using on the low setting and then slowly ramped it up over the week.I have to say I think this will really work. With a week I could feel my core muscles being a bit tighter. I think over a prolonged period this would work and shape up your abs and tummy.I would defo recommend, my wife has started using now also and does love it. First couple times it feels a bit odd but you soon get used to it.Great product will continue to use and hopefully have the results I’m after.
