The most important thing you want from a Blood Pressure Monitor is accurate and reliable results. Omron is the brand recommended to me by my consultant as the best home testing device. It's not going to be the best measure - your GP or doctor will insist on doing their own manual readings - but what is more important than any single reading when looking for hypertension is monitoring trends. You'll only get that by taking regular readings using a reliable device, and the Omron MIT3 Upper Arm Blood Pressure Monitor is highly recommended for that. The monitor is neat and compact, the screen clearly readable and highlights the important information clearly. Operation is simple and it's very easy to use.As well as the Sys and Dia reading, it also gives the standard Pulse reading, but also checks for irregular heartbeats and warns if readings are outside the recommended range. The cuff isn't the easiest to wrap around the arm if you're taking your own reading, and it might take a few adjustments to fit correctly, but once you get used to tightening it in position before wrapping, it becomes easier. The monitor comes with a neat protective bag. There is no assembly required other than to insert the batteries (4xAA Duracell batteries included), and plug in the tube attached to the arm cuff. The instruction booklet is brief and easy to follow. It tells you how to set Date/Time on the device, and that's also easily done. It's recommended you do this as you can store readings through the memory button on the monitor. It will however only hold 60 readings, but personally, I'm used to writing down readings in a journal, so that doesn't particularly bother me. The booklet also has recommendations of what range you should expect to sit in, as well as the good advice to consult your GP if you have any concerns about irregular patterns. This device will reliably indicate whether there is anything to be concerned about.

This is an excellent quality meter for use in a home situation.Usage is pretty much standard for one of these items. The provided upper arm cuff is medium size, which should be OK for all but the beefiest of upper arms. Larger sizes are available to buy. The device is operated by a single push button in the centre of its glossy black facia, and results are stored for recent tests which are accessed through scroll buttons. It's not got any fancy functions such as multiple user storage so it's ideally for use by one person if you wish to use the memory function to store patterns. Personally I write mine down for the doctor to see, but that's just me.Where the big selling point is, is the name on the front.Go to your GP surgery or other clinic setting and you'll see at least 50% of the meters they use are Omron. It's a hugely trusted and popular brand which medical professionals depend on for accurate and reliable testing. This is a lightweight and stylish version of their heavier duty meters with a glossy black fascia designed to appeal to home users who want to monitor their blood pressure and as such it's an ideal buy in this segment thanks to that trusted name. For that reason alone I feel confident using it to check my problematic blood pressure regularly, and found it to be extremely easy to use.

As a regular user of different types of Blood pressure monitor though my work I can say I as immediately impressed by the sleek and modern looking new Omron monitor. I have always trusted Omron as a high quality brand and advised my patients to look to this brand when they are deciding on home use of monitors. This is no exception and is so simple to set up and use taking 4 AA batteries which are provided along with a handy zip up case and the medium sized cuff which is fine for all who have "average" sized arms. Those who have larger arms may consider purchasing a compatible larger cuff as then the reading will be more comfortable and importantly more accurate. This has two useful features which I likes - the first being detecting and being able to measure a blood pressure on an irregular heart beat. This is so helpful both in detection and treatment of certain conditions. Untreated (when undiagnosed) irregular heartbeats can be dangerous leading to complications such as strokes so this is a welcome feature both as a health professional and for the home user. The memory function is simple to scroll through but can only hold information for one user at a time. I think this looks great, is of high quality and I recommend this. There are cheaper Omron's on the market but this is a little bit more advanced.

This is so easy to use and is invaluable if you need to keep an eye on your blood pressure for health reasons. All you need to do is put on the cuff according to the guide - it's just the same as when you have your blood pressure taken in the doctors, so you will be familiar with the procedure. The line from the cuff plug in to the unit, and the unit takes batteries which are included. Pop these in and you are ready to go. You'll be prompted to set the date and time the first time you use this but after that, all you need to do is press start. The cuff starts to inflate just like in the doctors surgery. You end up with your reading, and here's my only problem with this - I had to look up a blood pressure chart online to see what it meant! It would be great if there was a handy little card to keep with this so you can check it out immediately. The device saves your readings which can be read if you press the list button, and the arrows scroll you back and forth between the readings. this is really useful if you need to monitor your blood pressure over time. There's also a symbol that will appear if the device detects an irregular heartbeat, which could potentially save your life as this could point towards you being a stroke risk. This is a really useful gadget and comes with a handy storage bag.

I really like this blood pressure monitor. It comes with leaflets in many languages but the one in English is easily separated. It is in a handy carrier case which means it can be easily taken if you are travelling. The machine itself is easily operated. It takes 4AA batteries (supplied) As my husband has his blood pressure monitored regularly and knows his normal measurements we tried it on him. We placed the cuff on his arm. there are symbol guides to help you with this and to let you know if it is not on properly. We found that it was easy to do. Press the on switch and the cuff will inflate. You can prevent this going too far by using on off switch. My husbands blood pressure and pulse showed on the screen. There is also a heart irregularity symbol which luckily showed a healthy heart. His blood pressure was automatically saved and can be retrieved by pressing the notepad switch. We felt it was accurate. As it will only record 1 series of readings I recorded my blood pressure on the guest setting and my blood pressure was recorded but not saved. The cuff is said to be medium to large. I am exceptionally small but it fitted both of us fine. This looks good and appears to do the job well. It can be taken to the doctors so he/she can see the sequence. I really like it

This new BPM from Omron is up to the standard set by their earlier models and brings them up-to-date but is pricey and not the best model for multiple users.GOOD====* Looks smart, with a quality feel* Easy to use, and the cuff-wrapping guide is useful for beginners* Accurate (comparing with our Omron M10-IT which we checked against our doctor's machine).* Consistent, showing similar results from readings taken a few minutes apart* Cuff suitable for older children and then right up to all but the biggest of adults* Irregular Heartbeat Indicator will be useful for many* 60-readings memory* Useful storage bagNOT SO GOOD=========* Readings stored only for a single user* Gloss finish inevitablygets finger-marked and will pick up minor surface scratches over time - why do manufacturers think it's clever to use gloss finishes on things that get handled such as telephones, remote controls and now BPMs?CONCLUSION========If you want the latest and greatest, don't want to store readings for two users and don't mind the glossiness, this is an excellent BPM. On the other hand, for £20 less (at today's prices) you could buy the M10-IT which does store readings for two users. Alternatively, for £9 more than the MIT3, consider the two-user MIT5.

I requested this blood pressure monitor because the one that I have takes too long to give a reading - even with new batteries. I feel that the Omron MIT3 is a much better monitor than my current one - which I should add is identical to that of my doctor's monitor. The MIT3 is almost silent when pumping - and even quieter when on the decompression cycle. It takes about a quarter of the time of my 'old' one to stabilize pressures. It has a nice bar type display which also shows analogue figures for systolic and diastolic pressure. The numerals are clear and are neither too small to read nor too large for the display size.An OK symbol lights up when the cuff is correctly positioned.Error messages will show when it is not so.I am also pleased with the device having the ability to store both the time and sixty memories of the readings.A very clear instruction leaflet is provided; well, in fact several leaflets are provided in different languages. I did feel that the provision of such would probably displease people who are concerned about abusing the world's energy sources due to using more paper than is necessary. (Why include about 7 different languages when the device is being shipped to the UK, for example?)

Improved look, design and functionality to previous models. Saying this, If I already own one that I bought in the last few years I wouldn’t be in a rush to upgrade to this as it still does this one function, however does it very well. The arm cuff is a good size and fits most Male Biceps, had a problem with standard size cuff on previous model only just fitting arm. The unit stores the last 60 recordings for you to refer back to, however Id like to see a function to select user and have memories based on who used it. Pretty useless having a record the last x known readings if there’s multiple users with no way of identifying who it was from…This aside, it’s fast, quiete and does what its supposed to without fail.Used this model twice a day for the past few weeks with

I am now in my 40's and started to check my Blood Pressure on a recommendation of my GP, firstly it is important to take a reading after resting for around 15 minutes, also the same time everyday to get a baseline measurement, I have been doing this now for a week and have a normal blood pressure and therefore will be monitoring it every month and keep an eye on it, clearly a quality product and very well made and therefore strongly recommended.

Very clear and easy to use. The cuff is comfortable and the machine itself isn’t loud when the cuff is tightening. Professional finish on the product too

This is the best machine I have come across. The doctors use this because it can detect unusual & dangerous heart rhythms that can lead to stroke etc
