I researched for what it seemed like years (it was probably several hours) looking for a device that would give me the battery percentage remaining UNDER LOAD. I was >this close< to buying a £20 Volt and Amp panel meter from China on eBay and figured I'd just live with it and figure out how much battery power was left after a while of using it. Then I saw this completely by chance on Amazon. At first, I thought "a hundred pounds for a volt and current meter?!" then upon reading the company's website I realised it offers so much more. In addition to the V&A levels it also has a % scale on the right AND you can also switch it to show the % as a big number at the top. When you select this mode (which is EXACTLY what I was looking for) it also then shows the time remaining under the current load until the battery is depleted! Absolutely perfect.I have a converted horsebox motorhome which I have put 6 x 170W solar panels on the roof. I run them through an Outback FM60 Solar Charger into 4 x 115Ah Alphaline 12V batteries arranged in two banks of 2 for a 24v system. I'll eventually extend that to three banks of two, but either way, this meter can accurately tell how much power is left in the batteries because it not only uses a precision 100A shunt (the BM-2 is exactly the same but uses a 200A shunt), but it also takes into account the Ah of your batteries (you enter that in a special screen) even when under load through some complicated formula. The unit also has a backlight and gives off a nice red glow - not anything that would blind you in the middle of the night should you want to check the state of your batteries. This meter is exceptionally well made (and it was designed and MADE in the UK too. Something you don't see very often these days) and comes with a really long cable that has the terminals already attached so all you need to do is connect it to your circuit. The instructions are also very clear.Unfortunately, at the time I wanted to purchase this, Amazon had a very long lead time on the unit so I ended up buying it elsewhere. I nearly bought it directly from the manufacturer but I found a site that did it £10 cheaper than even what Amazon were offering, so I'm very happy it wasn't in stock! :-DThe bottom line is, if you want a meter that will tell you the percentage remaining in your battery bank when under load, there really isn't much out there and this little beauty is all you'll need. Well, I say little, it's actually a lot bigger than I thought. I was expecting it to be around the same size of a typical mains switch bezel, but it's quite a bit bigger than that. It's also around an inch deep protruding from the wall, so something to bear in mind if you wanted it to be mounted flush. The one thing I wish it had is a Watts display. I mean, it has the Volts and current so it would be a simple multiplication. But, I guess I wouldn't really need it. Just surprised that it wasn't there I guess. The % remaining is what I have it on most of the time anyway. One last thing. As it's designed for marine use, it's waterproof! Not that I'll ever need that feature but thought I'd mention it for those who do.Oh, and really really the last thing - you can also connect the meter to your starter batteries and check their voltage too. Just press the V/A button twice and it'll switch to "str" in the display to show you the voltage. Handy for keeping a check on them and all within one meter!

Great addition to my yacht , took 30 mins from opening the box to having it installed and working. If you need a battery monitor that’s very easy to use and install then I highly recommend this product
