So I have a Nissin DI866, and do some very extensive studio work with it, inevitably; batteries run out. Sometimes it isn't convenient to pick out the batteries and re-insert them whilst right in the middle of a shoot. This battery holder pack (which is identical to the DI866 one) allows me to carry around a 2nd already loaded battery pack for the flashgun. Just to reiterate, the 866 and 466 both use a 'battery cartridge' which holds four AAs. This item is just that, a replacement, or additional battery cartridge..For me, a great convenient time saving component. 5 stars from me because it is what it is.

Calling the product "Battery Pack NissinDI 466" is a bit misleading because as is quoted in the description it can also be used on the DI866.I had to buy this item because I damaged the one that came with my DI866 when I tried to remove the batteries from my flashgun. The product appears to be well made but I believe that its design is flawed and that those who have bought a Nissin flashgun will suffer with it if they try to lever it out of the body of the flashgun with any force.

Bought this as opposed to the Canon product as it has a switch on the hot shoe part so you can have the extention flash or the on-camera flash working, but not both together! Must say I am immpressed with the quality.I use this with a slave flash on remote and the set up is very versatile.

Not used extensively yet put appears to connect with my Pentax K10D very well and performs as expected Good Buy, couldn't find anything else that came close and also compatible with a large number of different DLR's

I bought this because I was fed up having batteries run out and scrambling to refit new ones. This makes the change quick and easy. Seems a bit expensive for what it is though!
