I am impressed. Had my doubts but I am glad I bought this.Let me start with the delivery. Ordered 31st August-2016.Initially the forecast delivery date was Wednesday 7 September. Lo and behold, the item was delivered on Sunday (yes, that's right, Sunday) 4th September.I took my time in testing it. But I checked the box contents immediately I received it just to ensure all items were included. On Monday I proceeded to setup and test (when family had gone about their daily tasks so I had enough time and space).First thing I did was to ensure firmware was up to date. I realised that the coiled cable included in the box actually had micro USB at both ends: one to plug into the Yongnuo YN-E3-RT,the other end to plug into the USB port of the computer. Hmm. Scratched my head. Fortunately I remembered that the Canon 5D Mark III had a micro-to-proper-USB end so I used it instead.Connected successfully and updated the device with no problems. You have to look around on google for a link to the landing page for firmware because Yongnuo home page is all in Japanese.Anyway, ready to configure and test.Yongnuo YN-E3-RT (+2 batteries)Canon 5D Mark IIICanon Speedlite 600EX III-RT (+4 batteries)Canon Speedlite 430EX III-RT (+4 batteries)Config setup was easy. Why? Loads of YouTube clips showing step by stepOne of these: https://youtu.be/e14UhoCOloATesting was successful and I'm happy with this purchase. If I need more Speedlite strobes / flash I will definitely consider buying a Yongnuo one (reasonably cheaper than top branded version).

For starters, this arrived earlier than expected, so a big thank you to Andoer for great service.I have now used the YN-E3-RT with my 5D MkIII, 1D MkIV and my wife's 70D along with a 600EX-RT and 580EX MkII (with YNE3-RX). the first thing to do is to check and update the firmware, where necessary, on both TX and RX. This can prove a little awkward as there is no OS X support, so it must be one via a Windows machine. The build quality, whilst not in the same league as Canon, is more than acceptable-especially given the price point! It is not 'weather sealed' as per the Canon ST-E3-RT, but at a little more than 1/5 of the price of the Canon product (in UK), I would not expect it too be.I certainly am not going to mark it down for that!!! A couple of important (to me) features, over the ST-E3-RT, are the focus assist light and the second curtain sync. The interface is the same as that on my 600EX-RT so is very easy to use, I don't have to learn another system and it integrates perfectly. The buttons, switches and dials all work fine and it pairs quickly with both the 600EX-RT and YN-E3-RT.I would recommend this item to anyone wanting to expand their system and creativity whilst saving over canon prices.

Ok, so I decided to finally take the plunge with this little gem of a device after what seems like nearly a year of procrastination. After a mix of birthday vouchers and the like, I took the plunge! In essence, this is a 1/3 of the price of a brand new Canon device. The question was: would it be as good as the Canon? Answer: I don't care as it does what the Canon does and more (so, in a side by side test, I guess the answer would be yes). It's worth noting that I've used the Canon one too, and can vouch for the extremely similar operations and layout.Whereas there are plenty of technical reviews out there, I will simply put that: if you want to do off camera flash work, but don't want to spend over 200 pounds on a Canon version, then this little gem will work for you. I think I'm right in saying that this actually out performs the Canon device in some areas.Would I recommend? Almost certainly! And will probably look at flashes that they do too, instead of spending a small fortune on another Canon flash.

This device for the money is a steal. It has all the features of the expensive Canon version but one more, which is the focus assist. What is focus assist? It basically shoots out a grid like pattern of red light onto the subject to create contrast of your cameras AF system to get a good reading from. Don't worry it doesn't appear in your images, it disappears after focus is achieve and before the picture is taken.I use it to drive one Canon flash (600EX-RT) and a Yongnuo (YN600EX-RT II). It can drive them at the same time or independently, or various ratios in between. I basically love this device. I've not used the canon equivalent, but the quality of it feels good.I have the Canon flash and the Yongnuo flash unit too, the quality of this wireless master feels somewhere in between, you'd expect it to be the same as the YN600EX-RT but actually the build quality feels higher. The device comes in a little pouch with just enough space to add two AA batteries which is what it takes.

I've been using this controller to control three Speedlite flashguns - a 430EX III-RT, a 600EX II-RT and a 430EX II mounted on a Yongnuo YNE3-RX unit - and I'm happy to report that it controls each one alone and all of them together superbly. As my camera is a 5D mark II, I am unable to access all the advanced functions of Canon's RT wireless system, but within the limitations of my setup I'm very impressed with this Yongnuo unit - it certainly seems to do everything it claims it can do.I've been wary for a long time of non-Canon accessories and this (along with the YNE3-RX) is the first I've bought in quite a while, but I think that on the grounds of price alone this purchase was a no-brainer.This Yongnuo YN-E3-RT unit has so far proved to be perfectly reliable and it appears to be solidly made and nicely finished off - I'm very pleased with it and I'm happy to recommend it.

I am not normally a fan of cheap copies but when this transmitter is nearly a quarter of the price of the Canon equivalent it seemed silly not to give it a try. I am very glad I did. Since buying it the unit has worked faultlessly. Simple and quite intuitive to use (although that is presumably down to Canons design) and works well with two Canon 430EX speedlites. The set up is certainly far simpler than my previous Pocket Wizard triggers and also more reliable. I cannot yet comment on the longevity of the unit as I haven't had it that long but considering the Canon unit is nearly 4 times as expensive it seems to me to be a very worthwhile substitute. In fact,I am so impressed I'm beginning to wonder if it may be worth trying their replacement for the Canon 600EX speedlite.

I have used this transmitter in conjunction with two Yongnuo 600 RT flashguns to create an ETTL home studio. The transmitter works brilliantly. Really easy to see that it is paired to the flashguns and to adjust the flash output and ratios, either directly on the unit itself or via the flash menu on my Canon 7D Mark 2. This unit has excellent build quality and looks as if it should last a long time.In terms of flash control, it has replaced an optical transmitter set-up using the built in flashgun on my 7D Mark 2 that was frustrating unreliable with an up to date radio transmitter system that is a pleasure to use. Most importantly, it retains full TTL control,so flash exposure control was perfect from the first photograph to the last

When I bought this I had doubts that it would work efficiently being Chinese, well I was wrong. This little gadget works amazingly well with my 430EX III RT Speedlite. It was a little tricky to set up initially but once it's been done, your flash and the trigger will automatically sync from there on. The display is clear and intuitive and best of all, it's about a third cheaper than Canon's ST-E3-RT.

Only used this to make sure it worked with the Canon 430EXiii-RT Speedlight, and all ok, at a fraction of the price of the Canon transmitter I thought you cant go wrong, but time will tell. Four star rating is because I don't seem to be able to install the firmware update that's available, but maybe it's just me, or my windows 10 system that I'm not a fan of at all.

Works just as well as the Canon equivalent but at a fraction of the cost. Also it does low light focus assist (following a hardware update mid-2016 for new units) whereas the Canon version does not. The only downside is that the battery door is rather fragile, but replacements are available on ebay.

Wish I'd known about this item earlier. I'd have saved cash. It's very similar to a more expensive proprietary item and appears to work just as effectively. A nice extra touch were the included remote wires to facilitate linked shooting with pre 2012 Canon DSLR models!

Had this transmitter for just over 4 days now. So far It's been absolutely great. I bought the canon e3 rt but it wouldn't work on my fuji. This yn e3 rt unit works flawlessly. Canon really needs to pay attention to the market.

Only had this a couple of days but it looks like a nice piece of kit. Connected to my canon 430ex iii straight away. Seems well made and of course a lot cheaper than the canon one.

2.5.2017

As good as the Canon version. Build quality is very good for the price, feels solid, and has all the functions of the Canon version for a third of the price!

Does the job very well. So far totally reliable and done everything asked of it. Know more in 6 months time.
