First of all, let's mention the good stuff. This is a relatively cheaper alternative to other branded wireless flash triggers, especially for the feature set in this unit. When mounted onto the hot shoe of the camera, you have full ETTL/Manual/Multi modes for various off camera flashes. There are 7 channels and 3 groups (A,B,C) to choose from. You can even switch certain groups of flashes off. The unit can also make your flashes work in mixed mode, so that you may choose to have some in ETTL and others in Manual for example. The range on this is great, I have used at a wedding where the flashes were 30 feet away, with wooden beams blocking my line of sight and they still fired.I own Yongnuo YN568EXII flashes which will require the YN622C transceivers attached in order to fire wirelessly, and I also own the YN685 flashes which have the YN622 receiver unit built into the flashes. Now, the only negative for me, is that you cannot mount an on camera flash as well as this (ie-no hot shoe pass through like the YN622C units). This is especially annoying as a wedding photographer, where I value the use of an on camera flash in ETTL while having off camera flashes in Manual mode. I could mount an on camera flash with YN622C transceiver, and use the YN622C-TX as a commander to change power of the off camera flashes, BUT, I lose the ability to fully turn groups off. Let me explain... There are only 3 groups (A,B,C) and you have to assign your on camera flash to one of those groups. And for arguments sake, say you've set one of your off camera flashes to the same group. If I choose to turn that group off via the YN622C-TX unit, because my on camera flash is in that same group, it will also fire the off camera one. The solution is to obviously assign the on camera flash to its own group, which leaves just two groups left to play with for the off camera ones. This is not a deal breaker, and as I say, this effects me more as a wedding photographer, where I would like more control to turn flashes on and off. Perhaps a future hot shoe pass through model may solve this, or create more groups for flashes to be assigned to.Overall I am very happy with the product, and it certainly delivers. Just as a quick comparison, The Pocket Wizard Plus III units have greater control to turn flashes on and off, and with four groups, but without ability to change power. 5 stars for what it does, and value for money, but only given 4 stars as a specific need for me as a wedding photographer. Would I recommend this to anyone? A most resounding YES.

I got fed up with the inconsistant results I was getting with Pocket Wizard Plus II's when using them with my Canon 580 EXII's and my 5D Mk II's camera'a.Although the Pocket Wizards have a huge range, they would occassionally not fire. This is a known issue with this equipment and is caused by the noisy RF frequency of the Canon 580 EXII's.I was looking for a cheaper alternative to the PW Flex system. There was no way I was going to invest so much money in equipment from a company that produced such poorly tested products. The YN-622C-TX fitted my needs perfectly. I haven't had a single miss fire, and everything works as advertised. The YN-622C-TX doesn't have the range of the PW system, but I just don't need it anyway. They work well within a 20 metre distance, and I've fired a remote flash through a 2 foot stone wall with no problems.Compared to the Pocket Wizard build quality, then the Youngnuo's are as good and if not better. (They certainly look nicer). These are an excellent buy, and my only critisism is that it's very easy to in advertantly change the channel or group settings when handling both the TX and RX units.Besides this, I highly recommend them.Pocket Wizard should lower their prices, Yongnuo beat them hands down.

I am clad to be the first to post a review here. I've been waiting impatiently for this greatly anticipated controller and I got it on the 12th July after ordering it on the 2th July, considering it was coming from China, that is great.Easy to understand without the manual, especially if you have already used the original Yn622c. I love the fact that it gives more control and options in the flash menu in my 5d Mark. I'll put it through thorough tests and update but so far so good. More than satisfied.Well done Yongnuo.
