I have had one of these for years. I like to do my own electrical work as far as permitted, and wanted to update all the sockets in my house to match (as they were all different when I bought it). Bought this little gadget to ensure that my wiring was correct and that nothing had come loose when I replaced all the faceplates and screwed them down. Does the job nicely, and gives me peace of mind. Quite a robust little unit. I have used it for many years and have not had any problems with bits coming loose like other reviews have stated.

This simple socket tester worked well for me but all my sockets tested OK so I was unsure if this tester was actually working properly.So I diconnected the earth and reversed the polarity on one socket just to test and the tester picked this up no problem.This maybe useful if you use portable appliances, like shavers, hairdryers etc, while away from home (hotels on holiday) for a bit of piece of mind.

Very handy as most people will know electricity vibrates and over time WILL loosen wires in your system and start to short out and you will be for ever trying to find the plug that has the problem well this simple plug in will help you solve that problem not a 100% but at least 90% well worth the money..

well built with quality control check, tested all socket throughout my house and perform very well.these polarity and ground checks are for safety and to boost performance on every appliance with correct direction, in my circumstance I use it mainly for enhancing my audio system performance.

Bought this product because of it's compactness and easier to carry in my tool box than a test meter.It is well made and does the job of testing sockets easily and is handy for quick fault finding.The tester is a good compact design with easy read out.

Brilliant, I was getting a tingle from my fridge when I had damp hands, plugged this in to the socket and it indicated that the socket had no earth, the fault was then easily found, earth wire had broke in the consumer box.

Bought to test wiring in rented housing. Plugged it in the wrong direction just to ensure it was working properly. Does the job just fine, but since purchase I've seen alternatives with a RCD test button for cheaper.

Worked first time installing socket in my shed. The earth wire escaped as I closed the box despite seeming firmly in - this little beauty instantly revealed the problem, which might otherwise have gone unnoticed.

Bought this for our hols in French Alps .. Arrived .. used tester .. polarity reversed! .. changed supply socket .. polarity OK.Easy to use, ensured all electrics were safe, won't travel without this tester.

Looking for a socket tester! Well this is for you. Will not only tell you whether socket is working or not but will tell you whats wrong with socket.Very easy to use and understand!

Basic socket tester with warnings for No Neutral, Live and Earth Reversed, Live and Neutral Reversed, No Earth. You need something more expensive to test earth quality of course.

it works well , its took some stick in my tool box and still works , only critsism , the screw in middle tends to come lose after a few weeks but just a question of tightning

very very good had one for years testing pollarity on camping sites before i connect up and testing indoors it was brilliant till i lent it to a friend and never got it back
