On the plus side, the boots are lightweight and comfortable. On the negative side, and it is a huge, huge negative, the soles wore out after only 3 months of use. I bought my boots from a shop specialising in outdoor gear (not Amazon). They returned the boots to Meindl, whose response was that the wear was wear and tear rather than a manufacturing defect. I had only 32 days walking (a bit under 350 miles) out of the boots before the sole wore through to the soft grey under. This did include a section of the South West coast path in Cornwall/ Devon. That is a bit rocky in places, but I would have expected such an expensive pair of boots to be robust enough for that.
