There is a pleasingly professional look and feel to the Spotlight (along with a similarly based price). It is a little heavier than you might expect - but in a good way - and its metal casing feels solid and well made.It has only three buttons as well as a dongle - which plugs into the bottom of it when not in use. Unplugging this reveals the charging port into which the supplied - and short - charging cable can be plugged. There is a neat rubberised carrying pouch to protect it between presentations. The first task is to download and install the accompanying software from Logitech. Both tasks are easily and quickly accomplished.Once installed the next task is charging the Spotlight - this is also simple and fast.Plug the cable into the base of the device and a USB port - and within a minute or so you are good to go (quoted as "1 minute for 3 hours of presentation"). The fast charging is excellent as it means you are always able to begin a presentation with a charged Spotlight - even when you're a bit rushed or disorganised beforehand.Once charged - unplug charger (following instructions) and plug in the "receiver" to a USB port on the computer on which you've installed the software. The "tutorial" will step you through the simple controls - or at least the default ones. I have then experimented with various Powerpoint presentations (and only Powerpoint) and it really is an effortless and easy way to run a presentation. The three buttons perform the operations next slide, previous slide and highlight/point. All three work very well. Each button can have an additional functionality assigned. The highlight/point button can be set with all or none of three settings - highlight (darken rest of screen), magnify (expand the area pointed at) and circle (places a circle around focus area). The other two buttons can have an additional function assigned if held (default is nothing). Choose from:-- Fast forward- Blank screen- Scroll- Volume control- Custom keystroke (e.g. F5 to start presentation)These are simple to setup and use.A timer may be set to remind you that your long presentation has only five minutes left to run (vibration one) and then that your time is up (vibration two). Not a bad idea if you are prone to overrunning - though I would prefer the vibration to be a little more subtle than it is.If you are a regular presenter you probably can't go wrong with the Spotlight. Necessarily simple to use (your mind needs to be on your presentation not how to run it) it fits easily in the hand and saves having to tap various keys on your laptop keyboard as you move along. It feels and behaves like a professional tool. The additional functions which can be assigned to the various buttons may also be of use - if you like to blank the screen to address a specific point with your audience - it's a button press away. Given the price it's targeted at the corporate/professional presenter - and fulfils that role superbly.

Amazon kindly gave me this to write an impartial review. I've been using this for a while now at work as I deliver a lot of presentations and I have to say I am impressed. The remote is made of aluminium and has a very well made, premium feel to it. If you have no idea what you are presenting to your audience, at least this remote will help a bit to make it look like you know what you're doing! On a serious note though, it does have some really good features that are very slick. Highlighting areas on the screen does look really professional (it grey's out the rest of the screen and keeps a small circle area as normal, and you can move this circle around where you want on the screen)and having the ability to zoom in on an area is always a handy option to have access to. Double clicking the top button scrolls through the functions of highlighter, zoom function and normal pointer. You can use it as a normal mouse pointer as well, so you can move the pointer around and click on links etc just as you would with a mouse which is very useful (this works in all the different modes). It also has a timer option as well which discretely vibrates 5 minutes before the time you input and then again at the end of your timer. I've found this to be really handy and gives you a bit more confidence to not clock watch all the time. You can even configure the back button to perform different tasks. It would have been nice to have just a few more buttons to allow for a bit more customisation, but I get that this may make the presenter a bit more cluttered. I've not had an issue with range either and some of the rooms I've been in have been quite large. One niggle for me though is that, whilst this has some really great features, I would have still liked a laser point option. I know this is a bit old school and Logitech have potentially moved away from this for safety reasons, but sometimes, a laser point is really helpful to highlight very specific points, like a small point on a graph. I know the zoom feature can help with this, but a small red dot is a bit more effective sometimes. On the whole though, this is a very nicely designed presenter that has some genuinely useful features that will really help you to deliver a polished presentation.

The 'Logitech Spotlight Presentation Remote (Wireless Presenter, USB, Bluetooth, Magnify on Screen, Range 30 m) - Slate/Grey' is a high-end remote control for use during presentations. While at first glance the price may seem somewhat excessive considering that similar devices can be obtained for a fraction of this, there are actually some innovative features which make this remote special. The Spotlight comes in a compact presentation box, but without any meaningful instructions other than 'install the software', which seems a bit of an oversight - surely it wouldn't have cost much to print a simple guide? The Spotlight is handsome-looking, ours is a sort of brushed slate grey colour, and it feels very nice in the hand, having just enough heft to be stable but comfortable to hold for extended periods. The button arrangement is simple and easy to use without having to study it during a presentation, and the dongle which connects the Spotlight wirelessly to a computer is stored handily and neatly in the bottom of the remote itself. The Spotlight charges quickly and has good battery life, plus has an excellent 'quick charge' feature whereby you can charge it up in one minute to give up to three hours presentation time (so handy if you've forgotten to charge it and only realise as you get to the conference!).The control software was easy to install on a Windows 10 laptop (it is compatible with iOS and other systems, but I do not have those available to test), and has proved simple to use. The buttons on the remote are customisable from the software, and it can also be set to act as a timer if required. Our favourite feature by far (and one which makes it worth the difference from 'normal' presentation remotes) is the ability to zoom in on your slides - this is very handy, and helps overcome the limitations of a digital projector.Excellent for anyone giving talks or presentations regularly.

I've used a previous Logitech Presentation remote for several years so I was very pleased to receive this latest top-of-the-range version which is apparently a favourite of TED presenters.Opening the box it's obvious that this is a premium product - in this gold finish it's almost Apple-esque in look, touch and feel! It's nice and slim and perfectly balanced and feels great in the hand. There are only three buttons - the largest being the forward button with a back button below it and the 'spotlight' button above it. Before using the remote it needs charging up, but don't worry as just a few minutes will give you enough to try your first hour long presentation. Once it is fully charged, with the USB-C lead included in the box, Logitech claim it will last up to three months before giving you a warning buzz and a red warning light.Next you need to download the Spotlight App from the Logitech Spotlight dedicated website - and at the same time explore the presenter features. Then you plug in the USB Receiver which has a claimed range of 30 meters and which is stored in the end of the remote until you need it. Alternatively you can connect via Bluetooth.Basic controls with your presenter software are obvious. I use Powerpoint on Windows 10 and had no difficulty with my monthly presentation, an all-age worship service, and I could wander at will anywhere in the Church without loosing contact with the laptop. You can highlight points with the spotlight button, which also allows you to click to start video or music playback. Using the Spotlight app you can also choose from a range of custom controls to suit each presentation and configure Spotlight’s back button for blanking the screen, gesture-controlled scrolling, magnifying points in the spotlight, volume adjustment, etc.If you present regularly this is a highly recommended product - if you can find somone to buy it for you!

Over the past several years, I have used a number of presentation tools, ranging from the ever so simple (i.e. a laser pointer) to the more technical, requiring preinstalled software. This Logitech presentation remote is a fantastic gadget, and probably one of the best presentation tools I have used.Firstly, the remote itself is very well presented and packaged. included in the box is the remote itself, a carry sleeve, charging cable, USB receiver, and instructions. The finish of the remote is to a very high standard, something I have come to expect from Logitech products. Being simplistic in design, it features 3 buttons, which is all it needs. This enhances the simplicity of using the remote. It is ergonomic and comfortable to hold during longer presentations.I am using the remote on a 2016 MacBook Pro, running macOS Sierra 10.12.6. I downloaded the software from Logitech, as advised in the instructions. This allows for a number of customisable options such as gesture controls. Using the remote in conjunction with Keynote, I was able toConnectivity via Bluetooth was superb. Not once did I experience any lag or dropped connections. Having complete freedom to move around during my presentations is a treat. Comparing this with some inferior receivers I have used, I can say that the difference is immeasurable.Highly recommended to anyone looking for a high-quality presentation remote that works well.

Before going onto its good points, I will give you the only negative. Basically there are no instructions with this and the only way to get them is to download the software. However, it is very worthwhile doing this. So, the good points:1. It only requires 1 minute of charging via a USB port (a short USB 3 cable is provided) to give you 3 hours of presentation time. So, even if you arrive with a flat battery in this, 60 seconds later you can be good to go2. It seems to have a very good range, trying this across the office. The claimed range is 30 m, but although I haven't tried this at the limit, it worked for everything the i wanted3. The spotlight function is excellent. Basically, once you've loaded up the software and assigned the keys, you can press one to darken the whole of the screen apart from a circle (aka a spotlight) that can be used to highlight points of interest. This works, not only with PowerPoint, but across any application you happen to be running on your Windows PC (sorry, I have only been able to try out on Windows)4. Finally, you can assign another button to "scroll" and, by moving the stick up and down, much like a WII controller, the text on the screen will scroll. A very nice touch. All in all, I can see that this is going to get loads of use at work and to feels very tactile to boot.Recommended.

I have never had a presentation tool before but as I carry out training regularly I thought why not give this a go something to make things more professional.Firstly this comes in a nice presentation box which is easy to opening side is a gold coloured presentation stick, approximately 10 cm long and with three buttons on what looks like an on Off button which is almost a multifunction button. A forward looking button and a backward looking button. Also inside the box a slip mat a wireless dongle and a 10cm USB connector cable (used for charging). As has been said instruction manuals are minimal to non-existent but the web site was easy to find and the software required was easy and quick to download. The dongle than takes you through a set up process which is easy and intuitive, once you have downloaded the software take the dongle and stich it in a USB port and you are pretty much ready to go.I was quite surprised how quickly I managed to get a feel for how this worked and find that the Magnify option is very good much better than a Laser pointer.Overall I am impressed with the ease of use of the product, though the price is possibly a bit eye watering.

WOW!! I have never owned a remote pointer before so cannot compare it to any other product but I am super impressed with it. In the box is the Spotlight pointer and a charging cable. There is a label on the back of the pointer that tells you the website that you need to go to so that you can install the software. Once you run the setup software it guides you through the set up and the charging - it only takes 1 minute to charge!!!!! I then used the pointer on a Powerpoint presentation - the big button moves the slides forward and the smaller one moves them backward (standard I assume). BUT the real WOW is the top button that allows you to 'highlight'a specific area of the slide by creating a circle of light (actually it just puts the rest of the slide in relative darkness) which is perfect for ensuring your audience is focussed on the correct bit! I am training to be a teacher and this piece of kit will be invaluable! Highly recommend!!!

Anyone who has presented will know about laser pointers being used to highlight certain points. Usually people switch off and no amount of laser shows will help wake them up.This Logitech remote not only allows you to go forward and back through your slides but at the touch of a button the screen, the screen has a grey layer with a circle that retains the original slide etc. This allows you to draw attention to an area. If you double click, the circle acts as a magnifier. When designed, Logitech were clearly aiming this at Apple users as it comes in gold, slate and silver and has the same feel of aluminium that MacBooks have.. It is charged via USB-C cable and a USB-A dongle. It would be better if the built-in bluetooth could be used.I used it in a training session and quite a few people asked about it and I know at least one have bought one themselves as it is different.

This is an excellent quality remote for presentations. It feels well made it responds well and even gives me a mouse on screen which is useful for some of my presentations. Is it worth what they charge? probably not. The real test is that I now have two remotes I can use; this which looks the part and gives me a mouse and magnification and vibrates if I move too slowly, and another one which is much cheaper and basically gives me page forward and back and if I need the mouse I have to nip back to the laptop. I almost always use the cheap one for one reason; it has a laser pointer built in to it and that is such a simple and yet usable addition that it is the one I use.So this looks the partand I love it for quality of build and the features it adds but for sheer usability there are better and cheaper options

This is without a doubt a game changing presentation remote, firstly I installed in on my mac in about two minutes (you need to go to Logitech.com/spotlight for the software). You need to give the remote a good charge (a special cable fits in the end) and then put the USB dongle in your laptop and you are away. The counter allows you to move around the cursor by moving the remote and it works really well, if you push the big button it does a highlight on the screen (which you can configure to be a zoom as well). It buzzes five minutes before the end of your presentation and overall is the best of the best. The only thing missing is a laser pointer built it !

Five stars, but should have taken one away because of the high price. The keys to a good presentation are the presenter, the presentation itself and what it's hoping to achieve. But this little gadget can pep up any presentation, and is a novel way to engage with small audiences - everyone wants a look and feel of this wonderfully ergonomic remote. It does everything it says it does, but it's for the experienced presenter, and not for every presentation. You don't want to over-gimmick your presentation, but if you have lots of data, images or key points you want to highlight, then this Logitech's Spotlight is worth the high price.

This is probably the best pointer out there on the market at the moment. It's incredibly well made, fitting in the hand very comfortably and feels like it will last for years. Yes it's expensive but worth it I think for those important moments on stage. Other reviewers have described the features very well. The one that I like the most is the vibrate feature which reminds you that you're getting to the end of your presentation time. I don't use the zoom feature at all. Easy software to install and very simple to get used to.

It is a great item for supporting presentations, however the spotlight does not replace completely the laser. The idea is good but not that good.
