A great mouse. I do graphic and web design, on a Mac with CS6 and this mouse works really well for that. It's a good size. I have average to large hands and it's very comfortable, shaped well to fit the palm with no accidental hitting of side buttons and nice responsive main-button clicks. Some mixed opinions - but I love the wheel, and use it mostly in 'free' mode to fly through long pages. The left/right tilt is also great for horizontal scrolling - with options in the software to control speed and acceleration to customise it to your own needs. The buttons can be assigned and the software allows for a LOT of configuration options, including 'per-app' set-ups. Now I have 'proportional sizing',Brush size etc. through button and wheel combos. It saves time and is easy to set-up and use.Accuracy is good and it works well on almost any surface.I can't understand why it's so hard to get a mouse with 4-way scroll on the wheel when it's so helpful in graphics and web-browsing (like the Mac mighty-mouse). While this is a tilt wheel (rather than a swipe or roll-ball) it works well. For graphics work this suits me well. Most gaming mice have too many buttons which gets confusing or cramped - and are of dubious construction. This one has five (left/right/side 1/side 2/wheel-click) which is enough to build in useful functions without making it easy to accidentally press them.A big thumbs up from me.

I was looking for a decent quality replacement mouse for office use after the left click button started to go on my cheapy old mouse. The M500 seemed to have good reviews. It's nice and big and fits the hand well. Plugged into my Win7 PC and worked immediately without any additional software installation. But note that to make the two additional thumb buttons work you need to run a custom Logitech app which assigns them. Since I don't like installing apps off the internet I'm sticking with the standard windows driver - so I'll have to do without the thumb buttons. The other feature is the free-running scroll wheel. While this might sound like a good idea for scrolling thru large documents,in the windows apps I use the scroll speed is software limited so flicking the wheel is no better than holding down an arrow key. Also - in unlatched mode the wheel is prone to accidental touching causing unwanted scrolling - so I just keep mine in latched mode. So the two tent pole features - the thumb buttons and free-wheeling scroll - are a bit of a nothing burger for me. So perhaps it's not worth the extra price. However - it is a good size and fits nicely in the hand - so you pays your money and makes your choice.

I bought this for my MacBook Pro as I just couldn't get on with the Apple mouse. I had toyed with the idea of getting a Magic Mouse, but didn't want to spend £60 on it. My past experiences with Logitech have all been positive, so I thought I would give the M500 a go. My biggest concern, prior to buying the mouse, was whether or not it would integrate well with OS X. I am happy to report that it plays extremely well with OS X. You will need to download and install Logitech Control Center (just Google "Logitech M500 Control Center") to get the most out of the mouse, but once installed, the mouse is fully functional. By that I mean that all features (forward/back buttons, horizontal/vertical/hyper-fast scrolling, and middle-button click) of the mouse will function correctly in OS X. The only downside to this mouse is that the cable is too long for a laptop, and can get in the way. This is such a minor issue though, and can be easily rectified with a couple of cable ties.

Very good mouse, no issues with it. I bought this mouse because my old mouse scroll wheel kept getting stuck so it would press the middle mouse button as I scrolled due to a few years of use as well as the scroll wheel not really sticking out.I bought this mouse as it looked like the scroll wheel was a lot better... and it is, so I don't see it getting stuck like my old one. I also prefer wired mouse and it fits perfectly in your hand. Of course... you have to get used to the feel of it as well as tweak the settings to your liking, but that's expected.A few people have left negative reviews because the mouse didn't have certain features they were looking for...don't buy this mouse expecting something without reading the product description, for the price it is... it's perfect. Don't buy this mouse expecting to get something worth £100.

Love the shape (wider on top) like a letter V - thanks to that it doesn’t slip off your hand when you lift it up.Also the lift off distance is very low so the cursor (or crosshair in FPS’s) doesn’t move when you lift up the mouse. It’s very light too - about 90g or less.I’ve had quite a few mouses now - mx revolution (loved it but broke down), mx anywhere (scrolling wheel broke), mx performance (didn’t like it), Zowie FK2 (good sensor, light and small LOD but didn’t like the “n” shape - it was falling out of my hand when lifting), G203 and G Pro (too small, too low profile and too big LOD), G403 (prefer the “V” shape and too big LOD).So yeah,I’ve ended up with the M100.I’m tempted to get the Rival 600 as it has a second sensor for the LOD but then it’s a bit expensive at £80 and I might not like the n shape.

Using this as a replacement for my desktop mouse at work. Fits my hand nicely with a good weight, excellent tracking, forward/back buttons are well placed, clutched scroll wheel (which does side scroll in supproted apps) and very handy for scrolling long distances quickly when unlocked (scroll "freewheels" when unclutched to allow you to scroll a long way quickly) This is very handy for messing with sql dumps in Excel and the like. Only reserving one star because when in normal "unclutched" mode, the click is much noisier than a "normal" mouse. Not an issue for me personally, but it does annoy some people, hence holding back one star. If noisy mouse isn't an issue for you, don't hesitate, otherwise you may want to consider something without the clutch.

Great Mouse. I bought it for graphic design apps and casual gaming. The only thing I can fault is that although its very ergonomic, it feels too small – like designed ergonomically for someone with small hands. Also, for assigning the mouse buttons to certain actions in some programs you may need to download the software called SetPoint from the Logitech site. One of the reasons I bought the mouse was so I could use the back + forward buttons to zoom in/out in Photoshop but it wouldn't let me assign those buttons in Photoshop itself, you need to use SetPoint.

Comfortable to use, has a nice speed over the mouse mat, not too fast but thorough enough to know it's a quality mouse at a good price. I bought for my wife to use on her laptop, and she was very impressed with it, so much so that she's taken it to use on a business trip with her to Tokyo.I'd recommend this mouse for the following reason: I'm used to playing Razer products on my PC, so with ease I can probably spot a bargain, and this is one. It's plug and play, no hassle no thrills, and fantastic quality at the price it's being sold for.

I was looking for a relatively cheap (compared to the gaming mice I usually use) mouse to go with my business laptop. It's always a bit of a gamble just reading online reviews. You never quite know how its going to feel in your hand or the smoothness of the scroll wheel. For it's money, its absolutely is worth it and feels very good quality. The shape and size of the mouse fits extremely well to the shape of the hand and most importantly to me, the scroll wheel feels of very high quality and perfectly accurate and smooth when scrolling.

I've used wireless mice for the last few years and each of them eventually lost accuracy or losing charge too quickly. I bought this wired mouse out of frustration to give it a go and I barely notice the wire. It fits very nicely in my largish hands, has a reasonable amount of weight to it, and is so much more reliable and accurate than the wireless mice that came before it. The cable is plenty long enough to reach my PC tower the other side of the desk. Really, no complaints, it just works really well, no problems with it at all.

I never thought I would ever say this of a Logitech product but it aint as good as a MS IntelliMouse. Bought it because the MS software is not compatible with El Capitan (Mac OS) and it looks pretty similar. BUT the ergonomics are not as good. The side thumb buttons are not well positioned for the thumb and the shape of the mouse does not fit the hand as well and the IntelliiMouse. Otherwise not much else to say - the software works with El Capitan - a major difference - but otherwise it does the same job, no better no worse.

I have massive hands and small mice are hurting my hand after a few hours. This mouse is the perfect match if you have big hands. Also, it is a bit heavy, which I personally like to allow more precision moves.I used this model for the last 3 years, and I love it. The only downside is that you will have to replace the mouse every year or so as the connection gets bad (bad cord or connector quality, I dunno...). But for 30 quids, its worth.

Great mouse. Nice feel in the hand, all buttons where they should be and very responsive.Seems to work on most surfaces.Only downside (hence only 4 stars) is that the scroll wheel feels a little loose! It is not faulty, and it works perfectly, it just does not have a nice 'feeling' to it. However, I would buy again, so it is not that bad.... maybe I am just too picky ;)

This was a replacement for same model mouse, which after several years of use started misbehaving. Ordered an exact replacement and everything now fine. Delivery was quick so fast up and running again. Don't know if it would have made a difference or not, but no disc with drivers came with it. As I had drivers already installed from previous mouse I had no problem.

Logitech is the daddy when it comes to mice. Don't go with anything else. This is a no-frills but perfectly executed example. If you need a basic wired mouse, this is the one you want. The scroll wheel has a nice option to either click or free spin. Very satisfying to use and just feels incredibly well put together. I use this for about 8 hours a day.
