EDIT: After just under 2 years of owning this brilliant mouse and using it daily as my workhorse I finally have to demote it to being an at-home spare and have bought an MX Anywhere 2s as the new workhorse. The mouse still works as perfectly as day one (and is only on its second AA battery) but the grey rubber around the sides has developed a number of unsightly dark brown patches from skin oil and dirt buildup. Unfortuantely however much I scrub with different chemicals it doesn't shift and is now part of the mouse. It looks unsightly and I dislike taking it into meetings at work! One of my colleagues liked this mouse enough to buy one himself. He got the red one and unfortunately his has started developing grime patches also.I still 100% recommend this mouse but if you buy one, please get the black one. I would have simply purchased the black one to replace mine but fancied something different.Original review:This is a great mouse. For a mobile wireless mouse it is generously proportioned. By this I mean it doesn't particularly feel any smaller than a standard desktop mouse. I prefer this as often with mobile mice I find they are too small to use comfortably for long periods.Connection to my laptop via Bluetooth was effortless (Windows 10 & MX Linux). Search for device then press the pairing button on the mouse and it worked straight away. I also managed to easily pair this to my Android phone. A pointless exercise for a small screen but I proved that the mouse is easily connected and works flawlessly for Android devices.There is also a USB receiver included in the battery compartment but you only need this if your device doesn't contain a Bluetooth receiver.I was initially worried about the 'silent' feature. I thought that the quietness would mean squishy but it doesn't feel any less tactile than a normal mouse click. It feels a little like a nice premium laptop touchpad click. It isn't completely silent (you can obviously still hear the mouse button bottoming out) but going about my business in a standard office noise environment I can't hear the click at all. There's no way anybody in the same room would be annoyed by the clicking and I think that was the general aim for Logitech. It is silent in an office environment, compared to other mice.The biggest reason for me choosing this mouse (along with my trust of Logitech) is that it includes a number of buttons, with the bonus being that they can be customised. I find it hard to work without side buttons. These are perfect for forward/back navigation of websites and folders. Plus the scroll wheel can be clicked left and right. There's also a profile selection button so you can have the mouse paired to two separate devices without having to re-pair them every time.The Logitech software allows you to easily customise the buttons. I've got the scroll wheel side clicks set so that when it is clicked right it zooms in (on a website for example) and when clicked left it resets the zoom to 100%. Quite handy.It doesn't support left handed use because of the shape and button placement so bear that in mind.The only reason I've knocked a star off is because the forward/back buttons on the side of the mouse are positioned too far back. This means I have to move my thumb back to an awkward position to press the back button. It's only minor but those buttons placed 1cm further forward would have made this mouse worthy of 5 stars.I honestly can't fault it aside from the side button placement. The grey colour is a little dull (feels like an odd choice for Logitech to create black, grey then crazy bright red with nothing in between). I got grey simply because it was cheaper than the other colours. I personally would have called it 'Comfort' rather than 'Silent', to appease the people who were somehow expecting the mouse to be dead silent. At the end of the day the mouse being moved across my desk is louder than the click. A mouse has to move so will never be completely 100% silent.Only time will tell. I intend this to be my daily workhorse in the office along with being thrown in and out of my work bag. The size, features, build quality and ease of use are perfect so longevity will be the ultimate test.

A wireless mouse is one of those things you don’t realise you need until you have one, then you wouldn’t want to be without it.Can we say the same about a ‘silent’ mouse? Well, if the clicking of a mouse ever annoyed you, or someone close to you, this could be the answer.It has to be said, it isn’t totally silent. But then it doesn’t claim to be – only much quieter. And it’s true, it is quieter than other mice. I have compared it with two other wireless mice that I have and several wired mice, and it is quieter – much quieter – than any of those, and actually none of them are what I would regard as noisy. (Perhaps I have been lucky in life.) My keyboard is much noisier.As per the publicity,although the ‘click’ is largely gone, the feel of it is still there – so you do still get that positive affirmation that the mouse button, left or right, has been pressed to the full extent of its range of travel.So how is it as a mouse? It sits nicely in the (right) hand (less good in the left hand, but it’s possible), moves smoothly over almost any flat surface and the action of the wheel, which is bigger than on any of my other mice, is very positive. (The mouse doesn’t work on glass, as some of the more expensive Logitech mice do, but it is good on the knee of your jeans and just about usable on the surface of a duvet.)Setting it up is easy – just plug the receiver into a USB port, switch on the mouse, and it does the rest itself – ‘plug and play’. That’s with Windows 10, 7 and XP (I still have a laptop running on XP). According to the specification, it works on other Operating Systems too, but all mine are Windows.The receiver occupies the USB port that a wired mouse connector would have (so there is no saving there). Mostly, the receiver can stay right there and it is small enough to stay in its port if packing a laptop for transport. Being so small, though, there is a risk of it being lost when it is not in a port. But a docking port is provided in the battery compartment beneath the mouse, so the receiver can be kept safe.It is in the battery compartment docking port that the receiver is stored when the mouse is new; so if you can’t find it, that is where to look. The mouse won’t work until you have taken the receiver out of there and put it in a USB port in your computer!The single AA battery is billed as lasting for as long as 24 months. On the basis of my experience with other wireless mice, I think that is wildly ambitious – even unrealistic – if, like me, you have mice on the go, even three different ones, for most of the day, most days. However, I have found it definitely helps – a lot – to switch them off when not in use. This one puts itself to sleep (or the publicity tells us it does) when not in use, so that should augment the habit I have developed of switching off the mouse immediately after hitting the sleep, hibernate or close-down button on the computer. Accepting that the mouse does close down when not used for a time, I can report that ‘wake-up’ on its being moved again is as good as instantaneous.The warranty covers ‘defects in materials and workmanship’ (hardware only) and is for two years. If mine should fail in that time – or in what I consider a reasonable period following the end of the warranty – I will report further below this line.

This mouse is unusual in that it supports both Bluetooth and Logitech's Unifying Receiver system. The "Logitech M590 Silent Wireless Mouse (Multi-Device Silent Bluetooth Mouse for Windows/Mac) - Black Graphite" is a recent addition to their range. Although any Logitech peripheral can be 'driverless' if its basic features are used, SetPoint software is essential to access any specific advanced features each has. A few, updates to older mice, also need installation of 'Logitech Options' (Windows and Mac versions) to achieve their full potential; this is one.The most unusual feature this offers is the possibility to transfer content and data from one device to another,not just Windows to Windows but to or from a Mac in any sequence as the mouse is fully compatible with both. Although devices such as smartphones and tablets are mostly Bluetooth enabled, a mouse may rarely be used; iOS compatability is specifically excluded but it fully supports Android 5.0 and up and ChromeOS via Bluetooth but only for its basic features. Users of older Android 4.0 devices may be out of luck! The transfer option provides inter-device and cross-platform cut and paste operations within Windows and Mac only with several file types. It also uses switches that are near-silent which can be an advantage, sometimes.The mouse supports 5 optionally programmable button operations via software. The left- and right-mouse buttons are at the ends of a U-shaped insert with a multi-function scroll wheel and a small device selection button separating them. If using other Logitech devices or upgrading from one, the Unifying software will need to be installed to enable others. The final two buttons are located under the thumb on the left side. Shaping is almost symmetrical but the mouse is essentially for right-handed use only. Power is from a single AA battery that is claimed to give up to 2 years of service but that will depend upon how it is used; about two or three months' has been the maximum for other broadly similar Logitech mice with frequent use but this may yet exceed those durations.The mouse is low in weight and mid-priced although more expensive than others roughly comparable but it offers more. Its extra functions and usability on a wider range of devices may justify its price. It is comfortable to use and operates effectively and reliably. The extra functions may not be used daily, but when they are, the mouse could ease the user's computing life.Because of the range of devices owned or otherwise accessible, testing with ChromeOS or Mac was not immediately possible; the latter owned by a friend had recently 'died' and is away for service (since judged non-repairable). Consequently, its cross-platform abilities were limited to Windows-Windows (Windows 10 on one, 8 on another). As the mouse works with Windows and Android 5.x via Bluetooth, there is little chance that it would fail with its other supported systems but, as a major feature could not be checked out due to a Mac hardware failure, the rating is reduced by 1-star in the interim.

Yes, it is silent and build quality is really good.Precision is really good, once turned on the computer picks it up in less than 1 second, first time installation is flawless without issues even on a strictly secured computer (for users with limited permissions), there is a hardware on/off switch under the mouse. It comes with a battery (AA) ready to work. Weights 91g with the battery. It is a 5 actions mouse. Left Click, Right Click, Scroll up, Scroll Down, Middle Click (click scroll wheel). It is fast and accurate, any other reviews that say the opposite, simply send the mouse back and ask for a replacement. As it is slightly smaller than the standard mouse, and especially if you have large hands/fingers,it might seem a bit awkward to get used to it.On a side note:a) I do not like that I have to remove the battery cover in order to get the USB dongle out, and then put back the battery cover again.It should be under the mouse, directly accessible in a similar way Microsoft has its dongle attached to the mouse.I find this minor detail very unprofessional for the type of office usage this mouse was mostly intended.b) the rough sides, with the pattern, will get dirty easily and it is going to be a strangle to keep cleaning it all the time. Again, it might look good but not that much for a slick professional usage.c) a simpler look and without the logitech logo standing out that much would make it even more professional and the perfect mouse for business, office use and client meeting.Overall:If you are looking for a silent mouse, this seems to be the only suitable option from a reputable vendor at a reasonable price (£15.99 at Nov/2017). Minor improvements can be made (see points 1, 2, 3 above) and Logitech should consider making them as this is a product that has tremendous future in the market. The mouse technology is not rocket science in 2017 and it should be an affordable mouse that is silent and reliable.It is mentioned that the battery will last approximately 2 years due to the sleep feature that allows it to save energy. If this true then it is an good added feature to the mouse. (I haven't tested the wake up feature just yet. I hope it wakes up fast just by moving it because if you have to click is very unreliable because you might click something that you shouldn't accidentally). UPDATE: tested the wake up feature, you don't have to click (which is awesome), just move it to 2 different directions (i.e. slightly left-right).If Logitech looks to this silent mouse technology a bit closer and expands this line of silent mice with a couple more models targeting business / office usage at an affordable price, there will be no reason for someone to buy any other mouse in the future.

Like many people I use a number of different computers at home and at work, both Windows and Mac. Along with the different boxes I use a whole range of input devices from Wacom tablets to track balls and track pads and of course - Mice.When it comes down to it a good mouse becomes almost invisible while you're using it - you don't think about it - this mouse just worked straight out of the easy open plastic pack as soon as the usb receiver was plugged in and the mouse turned on.Logitech have made some of my favourite such devices - usually sturdy - always designed to be used - and often innovative.I've used this M590 Silent mouse on PCs running Windows 7,

This mouse's big selling point is how quiet it is. Personally, I've never been bothered by mouse clicks and since I live alone I'm not driving anyone else crazy either, so quietness isn't something I would consider when buying a mouse. However if it's important to you, then this certainly is much quieter than any other mouse I've used – I'd say almost silent, rather than completely silent though.I've been using a Logitech Marathon M705 Wireless Laptop Computer Mouse for years now – I'm on my third one – so I'm comparing this one to that one.There are two main things I like about the M705. Firstly the ergonomic design fits my hand perfectly, reducing strain on my wrist and hand.

After purchasing a new laptop with limited USB ports I was after (yet another!) wireless mouse that worked via bluetooth. I opted for the Logitech M590. Having used this consistently for over a week now overall I am happy with it.Adding it to the list of my bluetooth devices in Windows 10 was easy with the device being discovered and connecting straight away. Windows 10 correctly recognised the mouse as being a Logitech M590 and then gave me the option to install the dedicated Logitech software for it, which I declined. However even without installing the Logitech software the mouse buttons, horizontal/vertical scroll wheel and auxiliary back/forward buttons worked perfectly without needing

I've used Logitech wired mice previously, but never a wireless one, so was looking forward to seeing how this one would perform. I've never really trusted wireless mice since a company I did some work for years ago got them for all employees, and we found that there was interference so that some mice controlled PCs to which they weren't paired.Anyway, things have obviously improved since then. The mouse is larger than I thought it would be, being substantially higher at the front then it is at the rear. It fits nicely into the hand, and has a single button that doubles as a scroll button. For some mad reason mouse manufacturers have been making increasingly smaller mice which don't fit comfortably in my hand. This Logitech M330 Silent mouse is exactly the right size for me. Not big, just the right size. It's specifically for right handed users so sorry if you're left-handed, you're out of luck.For many years my favourite mouse has been the AmazonBasics wired mouse. This is a very nice mouse. It sits nicely in the hand – personally I find the size just right (but I could understand that someone with bigger hands might find it a bit small) and I don’t need a wrist support to use it.It took me a little while to get used to the silent operation – I hadn’t realised that I listen for the click to tell me when I have selected something! – but now I am used to it I really like it.The scroll wheel goes really fast – it took me a while to adapt to using it more delicately, but now that I have adapted I appreciate being able to scroll quickly down long documents.Lastly, the long battery life (although of course I haven’t had enough time to verify that a single battery will really last for two years)

Quite an impressive mouse.It feels solidly built and is very comfortable to hold - good shape and size for my hand. However, it would only be suitable for holding with your right hand because the left hand side of the mouse is shaped for your thumb and has buttons to be activated by thumb. Is there a left-handed version available?It can be connected to a PC using either Bluetooth or Logitech's Unifying Receiver system. There is a small USB adaptor provided for the Unifying Receiver system. It can be stored inside the mouse when not in useIt can be switched between 2 PCs. The right-and left-click buttons are really quiet, as is the scroll wheel. My wife was complaining about the clicking noise from my previous wireless mouse a HP H1D33AA which incidentally I was quite happy with and it still works fine but anything to save the peace and my marriage so I decided to purchase the Logitech M330 Wireless silent mouse.The M330 Mouse arrived in perfect condition.The M330 Mouse comes with an AA battery pre-installed just pull out the plastic tag that isolated the battery terminal, but you still have to open the battery cover as the USB Receiver is stowed away neatly inside this compartment. I found it a little trick to remove the USB Receiver (very snug fit)

Bought the mouse (m330) mostly for my missus to use with her laptop. Although I do sometimes use said laptop. I've used the mouse quite a bit so far. I find it pretty comfortable to use for long periods. My hand fits over it quite nicely, for its size, I have big hands and have no issues with comfort. The buttons feel solid, although pretty much lack the click of a non "silent"l mouse, although they do also have a definite feel to them when pressed so you'll quickly get used to, maybe even grow to prefer it. The overall feel and responsiveness is typical Logitech, if you've used a Logitech mouse before you probably already know what to expect. The movement is smooth and responsive.
