This is an excellent budget wireless mouse, it is made of plastic including the grey sides which are textured to help you to grip on the mouse. It is a three button mouse with the roller also classing as a button as you can click down on it. It feels well made and the buttons click well and feel like it would take some abuse before they fail. When opening the product it was nice to see that some though had been given to opening this with the back able to be peeled away, saves cutting the plastic and means the package can be used again if your careful for storage. The wireless connector for the USB port is stored in the batter compartment and this even comes with a battery so is good to go (assoon as the big arrow is pulled from the battery)Connecting to a PC is as easy as plugging the connector to the PC you want to use, start the mouse (switch on the back) and Windows will auto connect and install the drivers for you, within a minute i was using the mouse. It is very responsive as well, i found it better to use a mouse matt with this though and not just the table as this is a clear optical mouse it is called and although worked on the table top it was better with a matt. The only issue i have with this mouse is it is a little small for my hands to use in the way i normally hold the mouse, this is designed to be a portable mouse and most likely to go with laptops and other devices for travelling and packing away. The size can be an issue and will take some getting used to as i have to hold the mouse further forward than i do normally, I would have a mouse in the centre of my palm normally but find it strange using a mouse without having my full hand around it.Overall though this is a great mouse and i would recommend it.

Logitech M171 Wireless Mouse - BlueThe mouse. The mouse arrives blister packed with a tiny USB receiver. The battery is fitted already and has a life of up to 12 months. The battery can be replaced as it is a standard AAA typeSetup. It is plug and play. Just plug in the unifying receiver and everything is sorted out by Windows or the MAC OS. There are no drivers to load or pairing to be done. Probably the easiest mouse to setup we have had. The receiver can be left in laptop as it hardly protrudes. It is truly plug and play.Build quality. It’s made by Logitech so the build quality is very good and the switches are tactile and well placed.Using.The mouse is quite small but very comfortable to grip. The buttons are quick and positive in their actions. The tracking mechanism works on nearly all surfaces. I use this mouse with my laptop as the track pad is not that good on it for accurate spreadsheet work. This mouse is brilliant for such work; it is fast and very accurate when pointing at cells in the spreadsheets. My wife likes it because it is nice and small.Overall.Ideal for use on laptops where the track pad is poor or for people who prefer a mouse (i.e. most laptop users in my experience). The battery life stated at around 12 months means that the user will not have to worry about fitting batteries every week. Being small it fits into a laptop bag easily. We like it very much as it is inexpensive, much better than a mouse pad and small enough to carry everywhere.Impressive, well made and great to use so highly recommended.

Logitech have always crafted solid peripherals and casting my mind back to the many I have had over the years none stick in my mind as a bad one.The M171 is no exception and is a solid, versatile mouse for on the go. In the package you get the mouse, unifying receiver and battery.Using windows 10 I was up and running in seconds, however if you want to use certain special features you need to download the Logitech control centre to customise your mouse further. More on this in a bit.So, the mouse. It is nice and solid, feels very well mind and that it will survive longer than a day in a laptop bag. An ambidextrous design its small enough to lug around without being too small. The colour scheme works well and would be at home at a meeting. The mouse is a good weight and size and takes a single aa battery. The mouse is a wireless one reliant on the unifying receiver. The good thing is the one receiver can be used to hook up other items such as a keyboard etc. If you already have one in place the mouse should just slot in nicely. When not in sue the sensor can be stowed away inside the mouse which is very handy. The Logitech control software is mature and stable and has over the years been refined to a point where it is an easy and friendly experience to customise your mouse/kb etc. Using the software allows you to enable different features/map keys etc and it is easy and straightforward to use.Overall this is a superb little mouse from Logitech. Well built and and accurate it’s now stays close by my laptop at all times.

This is a superb little mouse. I've had quite a few over the years but I really like this one. Like most modern wireless mice, the wireless receiver is embedded in a small compartment in the base of the mouse where the battery is held. It's easy to remove and plug into your computer, whereupon it works instantly (NB. I'm using Windows 8.1).I did have to change the tracking speed a smidgeon - but that could well be down to Windows' default settings rather than the mouse. The buttons are satisfying to click and the mouse wheel is slightly textured and slightly soft, which makes it feel - don't laugh at me - a bit premium. It's not a standard 'crap office mouse', and I guess the price says that (it's not really pricey, but it's not £2.99 either). The one I got is a really vivid blue, which I like - it stands out from all the other grey / black mice I've had. I've only just started using it, so I can't say how long the battery life is; and there's no manual, so I'm not sure whether it's auto-off or not (Amazon seems to think not) - there is definitely an on-off switch at the base.I like the size as well. It's not 'travel mouse' sized, but it is distinctly smaller than my other one, so the entirety of my hand doesn't rest on it, but this just feels like it gives me more control and has a more natural 'fit'.

The mouse itself feels fairly robust and has a little weight to it, a good thing. The wifi receiver dongle for this mouse fits snugly - and almost invisibly - into a standard usb port. Once the mouse battery is inserted, and you switch it on, detection is instantaneous. In use the mouse is a small but nevertheless fits quite comfortably in my relatively large hands, the left/right buttons are responsive and give a reassuring click, as does the click feature of the mouse wheel. The mouse wheel does have a slight issue in that it is made of an embossed hard plastic rather than the more common rubberised surface and can be a bit slippy and unresponsive in use.The mouse glides smoothly over my desk surface and happily works on soft surfaces - your legs for example - it also has a reasonably long range so if you have a very large screen you can use it sitting across the other side of the room quite comfortably. Out of the box the mouse is very sensitive to movement, but a simple adjustment to the mouse speed via Windows control panel (other Operating Systems are available) fixed that problem.Nice, comfortable to use and no hassle.

This is a very lightweight mouse which fits perfectly for the laptop user who is using their machine as a portable device (well that is what laptops are about right?). I found it absolutely excellent with my MS Surface which, as an added bonus, it kind of blends in with the Surface branded keyboard cover in terms of colour. One drawback for what is probably the majority of men is that it is rather small in the hand. My own hands are a sort of medium size and therefore I don't really experience any problems. The other thing I would suggest that the weight might put some people off as it feels very light and therefore could seem a little too lightweight. All that being said the buttons are solid in use and feel smooth, and the mouse is easy to use, the computer immediately upon plugging it in finding it without any fuss whatsoever. The sensor is the usual - for these days - micro version, and it stores in the mouse when travelling, assuming that you don't want to leave it plugged in.In honesty I cannot find anything I don't like about this little gadget, and this is only compounded by the small price tag.

This is a simple to use hassle free mouse. The mouse came in plastic bubble pack packaging. The build quality looks and feels good and the colour of this is a vibrant bright royal blue colour. The mouse comes with a tiny usb connector and a battery, so you do not even have to find a battery. You literally plug the usb into your device (mine being my laptop) and you can use it straight away.I use my mouse on just my leg, as I sit at home on the sofa with it and it works well.I do find that it feels quite small in my hand and this is taking me some time to get used to, as I have been used to using a bigger wired mouse prior to this one for quite some time and I find the mouse wheel is harder on my finger as it is hard plastic and doesn't have a rubberised cover on it like my other mouse, but I am sure I will adjust to this over time.Overall it is a good little mouse and I am sure I will enjoy the freedom of not getting my mouse cable wrapped up with my headphone cable and so on from now on!

This little red wireless mouse from Logitech is just perfect.I was so impressed with how easy it is to get up and running. Open the packaging (it is horrible plastic packaging but at least there is an easy-open section at the back); slide off the back of the mouse to reveal the tiny USB connector (and remove the battery protector); plug into a USB port in your laptop - and it works! It will literally take you no more than 2 minutes. And the mouse itself seems to just work on any surface - I found it worked great just on my leg or the sofa, and was more comfortable to use than the laptop trackpad. It packs away nicely - you can leave the usb connector in your laptop as it is tiny,or put it back inside the mouse.Oh, and it looks great.Highly recommended and a bargain at just £12 for a quality Logitech product.

I wanted a small mouse nothing too bulky or awkwardly shaped. This seemed to look the part and the reviews also added Futher encouragement that this was the right mouse for me to fo buy. The mouse was purchased as a backup mouse primarily to be used by my 7 year old son (small hands)The mouse is every well constructed. Although it's entirely made from plastic it doesn't look or feel cheap at all. It's easy to setup and is literally only takes 30 seconds and it's ready use.My son finds the mouse very comfortable to use. I actually find it comfortable to use. The mouse literally hugs my hands and it's very precise and sharpe to navigate. It's slot more responsive than some of the more expensive ones that I've used.I've actually replaced my primary Microsoft wireless mouse with this one as it's much much better.

This low cost mouse is so simple and straight forward. Open the battery compartment (there is a single AA battery fitted) and remove the small dongle that fits in a USB port in your computer. Within a matter of seconds (less than 10 seconds on my Windows tablet or my desktop), the mouse has been detected and is available for use.The ergonomically designed mouse is raised for the inside of your palm and has two buttons (left and right) and a scroll wheel. Underneath the mouse is an on/off switch. I like the bright red top of the mouse and the optical mechanism reminds me of the time when a mouse had a removable rubber ball which had to be taken out to clean the rollers, oh,how mice have evolved! This mouse is solidly built and will probably give years of use. This is a great product!

I have used Logitech over the years for different things and always found them to be reliable and trustworthy. This Logitech M171 Wireless Mouse, (mine was in blue,) is no exception. I have been using it for about ten daysand it works absolutely fine.Straight out of the wrapper, pull the paper arrow out of the mouse. Next step, is to prise the bottom part of the mouse,(going in the direction from which the paper arrow pointed, ) remove the small unifier, (Logitech) on it and place into theUSB. My computer is an iMac and it readily identified it.It already contains a battery so it is ready for immediate use.I think it is value for money and would have no hesitation in recommending it.

What to say...Logitech knows how to create a device that does not rip your money out of your wallet, and they delivered a top-notch value for money product that will last you for a long time.I had zero issues with this mouse, and it works perfectly fine. It's a perfect replacement for laptop's trackpad. While it uses a single AA battery, it surprisingly lives for a very long time, therefore the energy consumption on this device is rather small if you don't use it daily.Overall a product that is exactly what you need. Logitech never fails with their quality, even if it's cheap. If you need a mouse to use with your laptop or if you occasionally use your desktop PC, I highly recommend it!

12.4.2016

This is a fantastic little mouse for laptop users. Set up is about as easy as it gets (about 40 seconds from opening the packet to having it fully working - see video), and it's completely 'plug and play'. Unlike bluetooth mice, you do need to use the wireless receiver for this mouse, but this has the benefit of longer battery life as well as virtually guaranteed compatibility with almost any laptop or desktop computer. It's relatively small, so more suitable for laptop users, or those with small hands, but it feels very well built and clicking has a really nice feel to it. Recommended for any laptop user, but make sure you have a free USB port for the wireless dongle.

This Logitech M171 is a basic cordless, wireless mouse which works OK, for a good price. The small wireless USB is accommodated inside the case next to the battery for transportation or when not in use, so you can’t easily lose it.The mouse is ‘flatter’ than many rivals, with a low profile. A number of colours are available but the black option is a really cool matt charcoal with grey sides and base. The only issue with mine is that the small light built into the underside to confirm on/off doesn’t work, but the mouse itself works fine and the light is a non-essential feature so it’s OK.The mouse takes one AA battery which seems to last and last.

This mouse is another great mouse from Logitech.Having owned the m185 before, I knew what to expect in terms of quality. However, I'm still blown away by how this mouse feels and how it looks. It feels good in the hand (although it could be slightly bigger) and is grippy around the edges and on the scroll wheel with a textured finish. What I also love is the Logitech software this mouse is compatible with - it allows you to customise the buttons and the scroll wheel. If you're going to buy a mouse, make sure its Logitech, and I can assure you that you will be pleased with this mouse!
