I took me longer to get it out of the package than to set it up and use, its' fantastic turns BOTH TV and set top PVR on and off at the same time, set up is simple and easy to follow, ( do not be put off by the size of the set up guide book, it's in a zillion languages but English is first at the beginning )If you want to control more than 2 things you need a different one but i'm very happy with mine as both the old remotes had began to play up, and this solved all my problems in one go. so happy i'm getting another one for the bedroom as well

Looking for a simple to use, replacement remote control, for my parents existing television - and I found one!Fairly easy to setup and connect to the TV - you do have to look up your TV manufacturer name, in the book supplied, which then gives you one, two or quite a few codes you need to try. Tried the first code in the list, for our TV, and the very basic features worked, but, no EPG guide. Then tried another code and "bingo", got most of the features my parents would use, too work!

To my pleasant surprise it was very easy to link this to our old (20 years) TV and (15 years) set top box. The device comes with a book full of codes - the code you need depends on the make of your TV/box. Ours came to life with the very first code for each, so setting it up was very quick. We bought this device because the control for the box had stopped working. We now have a device which works perfectly for both the box and the TV, so we can now use one remote control instead of two.

I was under the impression this item needed batteries which I bought. This turned out to be an unnecessary purchase as batteries are included in the box.One for all been around a long time and it worked and was very simple to program for my Sony TV and the virgin media tevo box. Does everything I needed it to do, which is good, as it does not have a learning function.Volume control can be programed to work when in sat mode and you can turn both devices on or off with only 2 keypresses

Excellent value for money and amazingly cheaper than a 'proper remote' for our TV. Needed an urgent replacement for a remote that 'died' just before Christmas and this has done the job perfectly. Argos is my go-to supplier and easily accessible in my area. Please note: it is important to either - check or try the codes for your hand set (the instructions listed 5 different ones for our type of TV... the last one made the new remote work like the one previously) . Really impressed

I bought this remote control to replace an original Sony version for my Mother-in-Law which she had managed to kill.It's quite well made and seems to be robust which it will need to be in order to survive.It was quite easy to tune in but not all functions worked. However, given that my M-i-L didn't use all the functions on the original, this wasn't a problem.For the price paid this is a good buy and much more sensible than throwing good money away on the Sony version.

Did the job for me, which was allow me to get to the service menu of my TV. Not something that is usually accessible to mere mortals.It was also cheap, which is why I'm surprised that it's actually not a bad remote. The buttons feel nice, and although it's a little on the large side it's not terribly ugly either.It'll do as a pretty decent spare remote, or as one that I can program with all the buttons not provided on my original remote. Worth it.

I didn't believe that this remote would work on my old discontinued Technika TV. I couldn't find its model number on any of a range of sites that I had searched. It wasn't even listed on the instruction booklet that came with the remote but I went through the 'long winded' process as suggested...... and it connected!! Not all the functions work but I didn't expect any so I'm pleasantly surprised.Maybe their 100% guarantee is genuine.

Don’t be frightened by the thick instruction booklet as this is just a list of compatible TV’s which is good. We have a very old Phillips TVIt’s a matter of 3/4 buttons you need to press to get it working. We can use it for the TV and Sky which is great. There is a higher model which will also control your DVD player (if you still have one) and your games control. This product feels like a good quality item!

Unfortunately the stated programmable code relevant for my advice didn't work. However using the learn feature I was able to to program the individual buttons from my device. Found using instructions available online was preferable. The unit itself is of much better quality than the oem unit and the buttons all act positively to being depressed. Very good value with free postage included. Highly recommended.

It would be a good universal remote if it did what said on the box guaranteed to work all devices. It did not have the code for my satellite. I tried there hard to use website but no help. I ended up emailing there technical support, they emailed me back a few hours later to confirm my problem. Got a email the next day telling me that it will take 4-8 weeks to develop a code for my satellite.

after buying and trying to program 2 other cheap universal remotes,with no success (they ended up in the bin) get what you pay for !!!!!! i purchased this from argos wondering if i had wasted my money on yet another piece of junk..how wrong was i. it took less than a minute to connect it to my samsung tv...amazing.it even came with a decent set of instructions and 4 duracell batteries.

Very easy && quick to set up. I dunked my last remote in water and needed a quick replacement and this done the job just well. The instructions where very clear to follow so set up was about 2 minutes long, if that. Only minor downside are 1. The remote takes 4 batteries and 2. It is not compatible with my smart TV - however I do not use this feature anyway. Other than that, great!!!

Purchased this as a replacement for my TalkTalk Huawei Youview box. The package says that it is guaranteed for all models but unfortunately that didn't include Huawei. Tried going manually through all the codes and then also searched online for a code, found one but the remote would not accept it. Was easy to set up for my Samsung TV but didn't work for what it was meant to replace.

Bought this for my Toshiba TV and setting it up was as quickand simple as the instructions said it was. Approx 30 seconds and I was zapping again.The layout is pretty much the same as my original remoteand has the same functions.It's well made and has a quality look and feel.I recommend this for all of you who, like me, shudder at thethought of "setting it up".
