With having different types of tiled flooring in the home, one slate and a bit of a mare at times to mop as some mops bits get stuck or shredded when using. So I was more than happy to try this mop and bucket set and to see if it really lived up to the expensive price it is at. Normally use just a cheap cloth mop, as cheap enough when used a few times to throw away and can normally buy two for under two pounds. Mop bucket wise normally spend just two pounds fifty on a cheap colourful one as basically just wanting a mop bucket to wring the mop out in and it does not have to be a designer one. Again just cheap enough when harder to clean to throw. Alright not good for the landfill, but with having two pigs, one dog, kids and ducks we do get through quite a number of mops and buckets. This mop and bucket set is one for the house and not animal use, for the stone tiled kitchen floor, slate floor and wooden bedroom floor and tiled hallway and cloakroom, plus Lino in the washroom. So it is expensive well sounds it but after using it on all floors I am impressed with it. Would I pay the full asking price of nearly fifty pounds, well asked husband and he thought I was joking, think he might have thought I had gone mad if I had of done. Half the price and yes would buy one, but full price think again.Love this mop and bucket set with the salad style spinner also a thing that dog won’t chase unlike my steam mop. Plus not chance of it toppling over and the handle goes slightly smaller than when used so easy for storing without it falling over.It does cut the drying time down by half so very impressed with that aspect of it. More like a salad drier but a lot bigger. The colour might not be to everyone's liking but at least it looks clean and built well, even has a three year warranty. Got fed up of some of the mop buckets that fall apart from using too much force when trying to wring it out. This one well, no excuse for anyone else not to mop, as they can not get the floor too wet with this mops and bucket set, so no excuse now in our house for daughter not to mop.Easy to use, but do not throw the box straight away as the only instructions for use are on the box.The one issue that might be a problem for some is the bucket shape, as quite long and some sinks might be harder to accommodate it when filling it, and be warned when I filled it had to have it at an angle and nearly wet everything in sight. Done it again but this time no problems, just used to another shaped bucket not the buckets problem just mine. You have to put it all together which is an easy job really the bucket has two handles with it being the shape it is so no lopsided tipping over bucket when carrying it.You clip the mop together a little force needed but soon done and attach the fluffy mop bit, easy again then put the mop into the spinner and press the lever and away it goes. I did think when looking at the fluffy mop that it might not fit into the spinner and there would be a spray of water from it, but it is all contained and no splashes. If I am honest the normal mop and bucket does have more splashes this this has. No tipping over either with this must be to do with the shape and design of it. Only one little tiny thing, no mop hook to lean the mop on, so I tend to leave mine between the two hands and that seems to secure it when not in use.It is round but the long fluffy fibres get into the corners much better than my normal raggy mop and under the fridge a lot easier and deeper. Even gets around the dishwasher easier and no scratches from any sides with it being round. What I did notice was after mopping the slate tiles (always a mare as it normally rips mops to shreds) there were no loose bits of mop anywhere and again the floor did not take as long to dry as usual. On the wooden floors again no scratches just a clean floor and quick drying time, which when you have dog paws always a good idea to think about .I am pleased with it, but the price is high, and I will not be buying one for using for the animal clearing (cheap mop and bucket will suffice). For the other areas in the house though ideal and will replace the mop head when the need arises.UPDATE : Well have been using this mop and bucket now for over two weeks and used everyday with dog and lots of people in and out of the house, and still very happy with it. The mop after about a week and a half did begin to look at little dirty coloured due to me mopping the heart and it getting covered in coal dust, but after a good soak in the mop bucket came up like new again. Still on the look out for replacement heads though when on offer at a good price. Still sticking to using a cheap bucket and mop though for the animal cleaning.FURTHER UPDATE: May 23rd 2013 Still in service and being used either everyday or every other day, the bucket is holding up well, did think that maybe the salad spinner looking like device (well other half refers to it as that) is still working as fast it as it did at the start. The mop head even after being crashed into and falling over a few times from the dog and his antics is holding up well. No broken plastic bits and no loose strands of mop even after said dog trying to eat it. The handles still intact and the mop head (well after a few good dunks in the sink then spins comes up like a new head again). Would I get one for using on the animal areas? Would love to but not at the full price for the time being just a cheapo mop and bucket will suffice. If the price came down a lot would reconsider but you do not even get a spare mop head which I think at full price you would at least get, maybe something the makers should think about.Still a favourite in our house for the various floor types we have and now using it with fairy washing tabs so the rooms smell fresh as well and clean.

Compared to my old mop with a wooden handle and a tin bucket with a rinse basket built in, this “Leifheit Clean Twist Disc Mop and Bucket Set” with rolling cart is decidedly technical. If it were a car it would be German, engineered with the latest optional driver aids and with the promise of low emissions and high speed. And guess what, I’m not far wrong, Leifheit is a German company with a multitude of consumer and manufacturing awards. Compared to my British Leyland mop and bucket, this is the Mercedes S Class of engineering excellence. The product comes flat packed in a box. You will need to attach the castors to the bucket, put the handle together and then attach the mop head to the disc and then the disc to the handle. It is really easy and I completed the assembly in less than 4 minutes without the instructions.Fill the bucker with a little water and floor cleaner roll into place (the castors are free moving), dip the mop into the bucket, place the head into the rinse basket and push down on the handle. The act of pushing down the handle makes the rinse basket spin round to reduce the amount of water in the mop head. Incidentally, the mop head rinses well because it is made of micro fibre cloth. Unlike an old mop head where you have to push and squeeze it into the rinse basket, the spinning action of the Leifheit requires no effort whatsoever. The mop handle can be adjusted to suit your height, even if you are 6’2” tall. There is a lever on the side of the handle that locks it into place, it also prevents the mop head from spinning so you will need to undo the lever each time you want to rinse the mop head. The castors on the bucket make it easy to reposition the bucket without the slightest effort. I just wish supermarket trolleys were as good.In conclusion, this is quite a mop and bucket set, though this particular colour is a little dodgy, it matches nothing I have in the cupboard let alone in the house.I also think that this whole concept is a little over engineered and a tad over technical for what is a mop and bucket. There are wheels that could break, a spinning basket that could fail, a lever that could jam and lots of plastic bits that could and probably will degrade over time. I do think the mop head requires more mop strands to give it a little more depth. While the engineering is good, just like those top of the range German cars, if it goes wrong it will cost to fix. A tin bucket and wooden handle with mop head attached is simple, cheap, low tech and has so few moving parts virtually indestructible. It also mops.In truth this is a likeable product, has some interesting technology and design and does a good job on the floors. The mop head needs to be fluffier though. However for a fraction of the cost I can go low tech and get the job done too.

It’s a mop – how new and exciting can it be? And can it really be worth over £50 (about five times more than the traditional version)? These were among the questions that I asked when presented with this item. That and how to put it together (in the end it’s pretty obvious, to be honest, especially when you eventually find the instructions buried in the bottom of the bucket after you have assembled it. Top tip – there are instructions in the box, they are just very well hidden).Suffice to say it is very good. There has been some serious thought put into this with all kinds of clever design ideas. For example, when in use it is obviously like any other mop… until you come to try to clean underneath that bit go the cooker that sticks out and is you always have to resort to getting down on hands and knees to do with a floor cloth because mop heads are just too big to go underneath.Except this isn’t too big. The height of the mop head is under an inch – maybe 2cm, if not less – and it gets under almost anything. Forget the cooker, this got under the edge of fridge! So – floor mopped. What now? Well, you flick a switch on the handle, put the head in the squeezer bit of the bucket… and it spins around at great speed. A couple of spins and the head is dry enough to dry the floor with. Seriously – I walked across the floor in socks after drying it with a mop that had been soaking wet minutes before… and my feet were dry afterwards. I have a wash-and vac hoover that we occasionally use on this floor and it does not suck up the water this well. But then after a few uses mop heads get a bit, well, manky. You sort of wonder at times if they are doing more harm than good… but not with this. The head it detachable and can be bunged into the washing machine. Comes out like new.Even the bucket is quite clever, it wheels moving easily while also being easy to fill and empty.Overall – job done in maybe half the time it normally takes, if not less as the kitchen was immediately usable afterwards. No need for warning signs and cries of “don’t go into the kitchen the floor is wet!” anymore. So – yes – this new mop can be a great addition to the home. If any mop could ever be exciting its this one.But is it really worth £50? It may be the best designed mop-and-bucket in history, but it’s still a mop and bucket. All of its competitors are half the price (including the clever ones). You can go a step up and get steam cleaners for not much more than £50. In the end – for all its cleverness - I think it’s a good £10-£15 overpriced, and for that it loses a star.

This “Twist Mop & Bucket Set with Rolling Cart” is durable, very quick to use and highly effective.A couple of reviewers have stated this is flimsy and not durable, but I found it to be of good enough quality for home use. The plastic feels decent, if not industrial, quality and providing you use it correctly, it should last a long time.I can understand if you are used to having to push and wring a mop dry how the plastic draining cup inside the bucket would appear too brittle and flimsy for long-term use. The beauty of this mop, though, is that you really don’t need to apply much pressure at all (simply pushing down on the pole to spin the mop) to drain it.It is almost effortless and I cannot really see—short of overloading the mop to begin with (you need to hold it over the bucket and allow excess water to drain out before draining it)—how it could cause a problem. To use it is wonderful. Simply put a couple of caps of floor cleaner in, half fill it with warm water and you’re set to go. The pole is extendable, so will be easier to use if you suffer from back problems. The bucket also features a good, long handle and the wheels on the base make it very easy to maneuver around. To drain, simply shake out any excess water into the bucket and then release the switch, place the mop head into the cup and push lightly down on the handle to spin/drain. It only takes a couple of spins to drain most of the liquid from it.Before, I was having to wait a good five minutes for a steam mop to warm up, having to then scrub it across the kitchen floor (and then to have to tidy away the cables, clean the mop attachment and empty/dry the reservoir), which took around 10-15 tiring minutes in total! Now, I am able to clean the kitchen floor in 2-3 minutes with hardly any effort whatsoever! To put it together is very simple as everything clicks into place. It does take up a bit of room, though (measuring 48 x 28 x 27 cm) so make sure that you have somewhere to store it before ordering.

Leifheit Clean Twist Disc Mop and Bucket Set is a well-constructed mop and bucket set. The only real complaint I have is the bucket is so big I find it very hard to fill with water using the kitchen taps. I finished filling it using a pyrex jug, I found this easier to do.The actual bucket is larger and I do like the fact there are wheels which can easily be fitted with a quick click and fit motion. The wheels makes moving the bucket very easy especially if it is full of water which makes it very heavy to lift. This is especially useful if you suffer from any back pain, though you might need help to fill and empty the bucket as it is heavy when full. The bucket has one very strong handle which fits neatly from one side to the other.Prior to this mop bucket I had the older version of this particular set, I am very pleased to say the handle in this system is so much easier to hold plus with it just being on handle it holds the bucket so much easier compared to the older formation of having the two handles, as there is no tipping over if by any chance I only grab one handle instead of two.Regarding the disc mop, I do like how well it cleans the floor though if you have a stubborn stain, this mop head will need extra help to remove as the mop head is so soft there is no abrasive quality to aid the removal of more stubborn stains, but that is only my own personal opinion.I washed both my kitchen floor tiles as well as the shower room and found the mop cleaned both floors very well, one strand of the mop head did come away from the mop head while washing the floor, I am hoping this will be the only strand as if it did continue I will need a new mop head sooner rather than later. I am pleased to say the mop head can be replaced quickly, easily and at a very good price

I really like this mop, with it's microfibre mop-head and centrifugal spinner. To be honest, I though the spinner was a bit of a gimmick at first, but after a couple of uses I've found that it saves you from slopping water all over the floor, so the floor dries much quicker. There are a couple of niggles. The handles of the bucket fit can fall out when you're not carrying the bucket (they're secure when you are carrying it), and the handle on my mop is not quite straight, and the eccentricity means that when you're spinning the mop-head the whole bucket vibrates, and a little water can sometimes splash out. The spinning mechanism is very simple, by the way: you release a clip on the mop handle, and then push down to make the mop-head spin. The harder you push, the faster it spins and the more water flies off into the bucket. An added bonus of the "pump action" mop spinner is that you can shorten the mop handle for storage. The microfibre head you get with the mop is really quite effective at picking up dirt. I have a lino floor in my kitchen and terracotta tiles in my sitting and dining rooms. The lino on the kitchen floor dries within about five minutes of cleaning; the terracotta takes a bit longer, perhaps 15 minutes. As long as I keep rinsing the mop frequently, the floors both come up shiny clean. It's a pretty good buy.

The box was surprisingly small - so much so that I thought it was just the bucket and not the mop, the opening the box revealed the mop in pieces and 5 minutes and a few clicks and the set was assembled in all its glory. It is a very nice (very modern) teal colour which looks great in our grey and cream kitchen. The wheel unit clicks on very simply and the wheels rotate in all directions which means that you can move the bucket by pulling it along with the mop. The wheels are very low resistance so it moves very easily.I have an A’level physics grade A and I have looked at this and just can’t work out how the spinning thing works. You unclick a clip on the side and push it down - the mop spins and any residual water is squeezed out by simple centrifugal force. No squeezing and pushing. You can wring out the mop as much or as little as you need. It’s absolute genius and works so well. So clever! The mop itself is cotton fibre and cleans really well. Feels much cleaner than our Vileda system. For a mop and bucket, it’s hard to get to excited but, if you are going to get excited, this is the one to choose. I love it! It looks nice, works really well and shows innovation and functional superiority over other mops.Thoroughly recommended!!

The Leifheit Clean Twist Disc Floor Mop takes an age-old concept, but adds some useful innovations to become one of the finest mops it has ever been my pleasure to use.Firstly, the mop itself and handle is made from lightweight but deceptively durable plastic, and the mop head is a really good size and shape. The mop bucket is a good capacity, too. The mop head fibres are absorbent, but, the spinning 'salad spinner' mechanism is very useful in draining the head without causing water to slop everywhere. Mopping lino or vinyl flooring is an absolute breeze using this mop, taking less than half the time to both clean (and, because there's no excess water) and dry. It also cleans so much better than other mops, thereby cutting down the time taken.I think that this mop is also suitable, given its lightweight but sturdy construction, for use by the less strong and elderly, too.The only drawbacks that stop me from giving this the full five stars are that you MUST remember to pick up the bucket by both handles, otherwise it'll tip over, and also, when using it on uneven wooden floorboards, the mop head can swivel over. Minor quibbles really, in what is an excellent product and highly recommended.

A hefty price tag for a mop and bucket, is it worth the price considering there are many other options available? Please read on.A huge step forward in mop design, making mopping a much more efficient operation. I will summarise the main benefits of this product to help you decide if this is the mop + bucket for you.1. the mop uses a flatter disc shaped mop head giving a larger surface area coverage allowing areas to be covered quickly.2. The spinning action to remove dirt and water from the mop head uses very efficient spinning action similar to a spinning top operates. Driven by effortlessly pumping the handle up and down.3. The mop bucket is wheeled meaning it glides around easily to keep bending to pick the bucket up.4.Height adjustable handle to suit your height so again no more unnecessary and awkward bending down.5. The handle swivels allowing you to manoeuvre easily into otherwise hard to reach areas such as under unmovable furniture.6. Very sturdy and well engineered bucket and mop mechanism.Overall very well made mop and bucket worth spending just a little more for that added quality making mopping more efficient and less of chore.

The set comes in a box covered in photo's and diagrams of how to assemble it. The 20 litre mop bucket comes ready made except for the wheels that simply clip together and clip onto the base each side of the bucket. The mop comes in 3 pieces that push together; the mop head is really thick and absorbent and replacements readily available. The bucket handle is metal with a small plastic strip to make it more comfortable to lift, it locks into place when lifting which makes it emptying easier. The mop handle can be lengthened to 130cm (51") or shortened to 100cm (39 1/2") and locks to your preferred height with a handy lever. This is a very well made product, it doesn't tip over (like my old spin & mop bucket)the wheels make it more stable and very easy to move around the kitchen. I love the spinner it removes a good amount of water and the head is really thick and absorbent. I'm 5ft 9" and can mop the floor without straining my back. I bought replacement mop heads cheaply from Home Bargains for my other mop and they fit perfectly. The only thing I don't like is the colour, its a weird blue green but who cares it works well and that's all that matters.

Well it arrived yesterday and after two days of use I'm extraordinarily happy with this mop. Yeah I know, it's a mop how can one get excited about a mop...that's rhetorical. There's very little that's truly unique about this mop other than the salad spinner that comes with the bucket. OK, so it's actual a centrifugal device that spins to wring out the wet mop head. The handle action I'd liken to the childs spinning top toy. Multiple presses down of the handle makes the mop head spin when placed into the twirly spinning thing. This causes the salad spinner thing the rotate and the harder you press, the quicker it spins and more water is forced away from the mop head. It's effective and actually leaves the mop head relatively dry.Other than that there's little to say. Build quality is good coming in four parts. Two for the handle, one bucket and one mop head. The negative I'd say is that at current price, £50 at time of writing this review, it's too pricey imho.If you've got cash to burn then fine but I'd say save your money and buy a cheaper mop and spend the extra on a meal out or the cinema or some fuel or...

This is very well made, has some excellent features which benefit the user and only one minor criticism/observation which stops it from being perfect and achieving five stars. The wheels are free flowing and the bucket is of a good size allowing for the mop head to just fit in with the special spinning drier in place. The spinning dry mechanism is easy to operate (when you pull the leaver down on the mop) and achieves a good damp mop head to use without leaving lots of excess water/suds or whatever over the floor which you are trying to clean. The one observation is that you MUST wear gloves as, occasionally the damp/wet fronds of the mop attach themselves to the top of the mop and then when youtry to spin them dry you can get splashes over the top so you need to use your hands to push the fronds down (they don't always shake down) - and if you are using any cleaning agent with bleach you will wish to protect your skin and/or clothes, of course. That said there is an extending handle to the mop - allowing for different heights of user! All in all worth the money and a labour-saving combination of mop & bucket.

Well – I didn't think I was the sort of person to get excited about a mop and bucket. This is probably the Rolls-Royce of mop and buckets. The bucket is on wheels which allows it to be pushed in any number of directions. Inside the bucket is not only a mop wringer but also a twirling bit to wring more effectively. The mop head is as soft and white as a cloud with short pieces in the centre and longer pieces on the outside. It's actually washable at 60° so presumably you can put in the washing machine. The handle is adjustable for various heights and comes apart so you can put it away for storage if you want to.I can't ever say that mopping the floor is a pleasure but this is as close as it gets. It's all plastic but it's nice quality and cleverly thought out --you can kind of see where the money has gone although 50 quid is a lot of money to pay for a mop and bucket. However, I suppose it's really no more expensive than a floor steamer and one floor steamer I had only lasted a few months, and it's fair to say that this will never break down. And if it does develop a fault it has a three year guarantee.I like it.

We found this to be better than it looks! The plastic, novelty appearance is not representative of the product. The bucket is strong and lightweight, it's on wheels and the 'wringing mechanism' works very well, much better than I thought it would. It works on the same principle as a child's humming top toy, you pump the handle and as long as the mop is in the retaining basket in the bucket, the head freely spins and the water is thrown out of the absorbent mop head with centrifugal force, leaving it ready to start soaking up the next lot. The mop head itself is replaceable and it looks as if other spares are also available. The handle extends to accommodate almost everyone's needs and locks where it best suits. Thanks to the wheeled bucket,it is easily pushed where it's needed and its fitted with a convenient carry handle. The microfibre mop head is a good medium for mopping with, it retains enough moisture for mopping our laminate floors without soaking them, and holds enough to clean our floor tiles. In all, a very good system worth the price tag.JC

I have been using the Spontex Express system for a couple of years now and whilst I liked the idea of spinning the water out etc, I am not a fan of these modern flat mops. I prefer the old fashioned type so I was pleased to be able to give this one a go.My first impression was that the plastic of the bucket was flimsy and not as sturdy and quality looking as the Spontex. Mop was easy to put together though. The one plus it gets is for the wheely bottom. Nice to easily drag it to where you are in the room rather than have to keep picking it to up and plonking it down.Unlike the spontex you can take the bucket apart and it can be used for other uses which is also a plus.I like the mop head, the whizzing motion dries it out quite well so you don't have a dripping mop. Only thing is you have to make sure you have all of the fibres in the bucket cage before spinning it as you may find that you get splatter all around if you don't.All in all, I like it but still feel it may be lacking a little somewhere.
