First saw this being ‘demonstrated’ on one of those yawn-a-thons ‘shopping channel’ programmes/insomnia killers and was suitably impressed by the actual product being shown in use by members of the “Carry On Yakking” squad who seem to repeat their spiel about every fifteen minutes or so like in the olden days we would say the ‘needle is stuck’ going back to the days of vinyl records but while checking on line a shopping forum and found that particular outlet did not have an enviable record in customer service, so pushed the idea to one side at that time. Next was a visit later on to daughter’s and she had one – of the first Mk. 1’s as this current model, is I believe, the Mk.2 or at the time of writing it is as I am about to offer my observations on it. The Karcher Window Vac is one of those wonderful innovations that actually fulfils a need or rather a purpose plus it actually lives up to its premise of doing what it says it does on the box, and the occasional yawn-fest that is the jungle of the ‘shopping channel’. First off it’s a good name stamped on the device that has gained a reputation over the years for manufacturing decent, reliable products (I have a Karcher power washer that is now over 18 years old and still does a very good job, indeed the first time I used it the device was so powerful on being asked to demonstrate it to a neighbour on his car under body to get some crust hardened mud off I actually removed some of his car under-seal he had applied a few weeks earlier…think I may have been left off his Christmas card list since then oddly…) and this appears to fill in the same mould as it were. Once getting it out the box, there is the device itself with a clip on head unit that will only fit on one way and once done you hear a click as plastic meets plastic plus a plug-in the wall charger for the built-in battery pack plus the instructions and once charged up you are ready to go. There is a neon indicator built into the switch and flashes green while charging and stays on once fully charged to show if its fully charged state and thus ready to use. The switch on this model in on the outside of the handle whereas the Mk.1 had in on the inside much like a trigger on a pistol type grip and had the annoying habit of when being picked up being switched on and had the charging light – red in colour – in the base of the actual device as opposed to being part of the switch as explained above. In use the device does what it sez it does – its very handy clearing condensation off one or two of our windows and more than anything does not leave smeary marks in most occasions and in that area it scores very well also in that it does a very good job of clearing car windscreens as well once the surface dirt and grime is removed and by going over afterwards to remove the excess water etc. works very well and once again does not leave any smears but for its main purpose it works very well without leaving any mess. Overall it’s a good idea smartly presented, does the job well and with a good name on the handle like Karcher so it gets full marks from me and if they start a Karcher Window Vac Owners Club I might join it – don’t laugh, dafter things have been known!. 10/10 

Firstly let me admit that I am a huge Window Vac fan - ever since getting one myself I have bought four or five of these for various family members and friends who have either seen me using it or have heard me going on about it. So when I saw this new version in another retailer I saw the perfect opportunity to move my current one on as a Christmas gift and see if Karcher had managed to get this ingenious piece of kit any better.I am glad to say that they have! At first glance many of the changes are quite subtle as the vac works in exactly the same way as the old one - although I have to admit I was slightly disappointed that my old smaller blade didn't fit this new machine and it looks like I'll be shelling out for a new one. However after using it some other tweaks started to show themselves such as the new 'plug' for the tank which is far more robust and seems impossible to pull away from the body like the old one; the height of the vac is ever slightly smaller; it feels fractionally lighter (although I had no issue with my original this is very welcome) and the green light which shows it's charging has moved to the front (no obvious benefit there!). The WV2 was advertised in store as having an even better battery life and although I have never had any problems cleaning all of my windows on a single change with my WV60, I suppose if you are lucky enough to have a mansion this would be really useful.Overall I am delighted with my purchase and even the change in the way the small blade attaches doesn't stop me from recommending this to anyone looking for a fast, convenient way to clean windows (and its also very good for removing morning condensation).

Believe the hype with these great little gadgets!!!! I thought i would borrow my mother inlaws after seeing someone while i was out walking one cold morning cleaning their condensated windows, perving a bit i stood and watched and was amazed. I never gave these a thought for this type of job no idea why, probably like most thought it was a gimmick to be shoved in the draw alongside the soda stream machine after couple of weeks.I have no idea why these get a few bad reviews you must be a complete and utter moron not to be able to get a result with these. Fair enough if it's faulty i understand BUT for cleaning condensation and light cleaning windows they are MAGICI suffer from HEAVY condensation in winter time and this little thing has been a absolute life saver. It simply sucks it all down, leaves windows looking clean and dry , you have to do a few sweeps mind on heavy condo. I use it on 6 windows a day including velux, best tip is to use it upside down from bottom to start with on heavy condensated windows or you will push water onto your window sill in small puddles ,the vac will suck it from the sill but bit more messy and awkward. One more thing!!! DONT BE A SKIN FLINT and try to save a couple of quid and buy from the USELESS Karcher outlet!!! i did and the thing i received was a complete DUD not the products fault just these refurbs and CLEARLY not refurbs just wiped down and reboxed to give that impression you just receive a product with the same fault it was sent back with!!!!!I rarely review gear online but these are a MUST have if like me you suffer with condensation in winter ...Go on stop reading now and buy it then!!!

As the owner of a 32ft Conservatory I wish I had had access to one of these years ago....It would have saved hours of wringing out cold, wet cloths into buckets every Winter! I find I can -at the start of cycle even use it horizontally -or with a slightly leading lower edge though one needs to adjust the speed of one's stroke to the amount of condensation (I often get 2 full (or more) tanks per morning....(It will however spill out a bit once the reservoir starts to fill). I am still struggling to get answers on what chemicals may safely-and effectively- be used to counter various 'biologics'-mould spores, fungi/and possible bacteria)that a plant filled conservatory engenders...as many will adversely affect most plastics-especially soft, flexible ones.(The cleaning without Any additional agents is pretty good in this soft water area, reducing chemical consumption (and eventual environmental load) to a minimum. -Now, of only the rechargeable battery proves to have a good life expectancy -as well as the whole appliance- I will be happy!-On the large upstairs Velux windows I get a further tankful most mornings...these are set into the angle of the roof (at almost 40 degrees, so operating at a 'reverse' angle also presents some challenges)....but adapting technique and slowing down -(again with empty tank and full charge) so far seems to do it....I may change my mind in a year or two should the pump or battery lose power/suction significantly-but after ten days or so am feeling this to have been a very worthwhile purchase.

I must admit, I'm not very good at cleaning windows - I don't mean I'm bad at it, I mean that I put it off and never see it as an essential job. I give them a good clean and then seems to spend a lot of time going back and buffing to get rid of the swirly marks I've made. They aren't perfect but they'll do - but it takes me ages to get them to a state I'm happy with. This makes things a lot easier...I was confused at first, I thought that this cleaned your windows - it doesn't, it's sucks them off (as it were) to remove moisture once they've been cleaned. I have cleaned my windows a few times with this now and the results are amazing! I bascially wash my windows with soapy water, give them a good scrub and then switch this on and go down in straight lines. This device then sucks of the water leaving a streak free finish - it really does make the job easier, I was sceptical at first and didn't see the point, but now I've seen the results I am convinced. Plus, emptying the water out afterwwards often shows how much dirt is still left on the window in the water, removing that can only be a good thing. In a nutshell: If you don't clean your windows often because you find it a faff, this may prompt you to do it more often - it makes the process much quicker. Note - some have said that they use this on their shower screens, however it won't work on curved ones as it it breaks contact and the suction doesn't work.

were do I start this arrived yesterday, so had a quick try as you do.... This morning I decided to start all my caravan windows they haven't been done since last summer. Firstly very easy to assemble the spray bottle(which comes with a sample of cleaner) I was worried 25 mins of cleaning really wouldn't be enough time but hey ho was I wrong I cannot rate this product enough I have cleaned inside from front to back of my windows in an hour including bathroom mirrors and shower screen waiting for the arrrr it won't do that...... I was wrong the cleaning fluid cut through the grime like a knife through butter its used hardly any water and what as come off the windows I've shown in pic(very small amount but very dirty). How do I explained it!!!! Firstly there no knack to it it's simple no hard work it took longer to wipe my frames than clean the actual window the cloth hasn't built up lots of grime the cleaning solution is lovely leaving a great shine and nice smell well decided best way overall to describe is a must have product.... It screams as it cleans and cries as it dries,,,,it really is simple and this on picture is all the water it as used and the proof is left in the bottle I'm now going to purchase the smaller blade (some glass in my van which are to small for the blade. I purchased this with cleaning fluid and spray bottle work perfectly together.

As another reviewer said, this the gadget you never knew you needed! Got it after trying one that a colleague had. Inside of Windows in the house were not getting cleaned as much as they should because of the hassle of spraying on "non-smear" window cleaner and then wiping off. Thought this might allow more conventional wet cleaning and vacuuming off. It does just that. Fabulous. Cleaned all the windows and a big mirror in the bathroom. Then realised outsides look dirty, so did those too! I had previously used a regular squeegee on the outsides, but this nifty device is even better than that and so I will be using it inside and out from now on. A bit of technique is needed to get best results, but it is very light and easy to hold. I figured out a technique that works well for me by the end of doing all the windows. I can't sing its praises high enough. My Windows have never looked so clean and the big mirror in the bathroom is spotless. It is also good for shower screens apparently. Not tried that yet, but will do. It managed all the insides on one charge and then I topped the charge before doing the outsides. I have quite a lot of big windows, so I would imagine it would get most houses done inside and out on one charge. Well worth the money.

This really is the gadget that you didn't know you needed. All it is is a squeegee with a hand held vacuum cleaner attached, the squeegee is split in two horizontally and the water is sucked up into the main body of the vacuum. In operation you simply turn it on and the use it just like a squeegee! So why do you need it? Simple! You can get any hard surface clean and streak free with it. Yes it does glass, clean you glass with water, use this to make it clean. I also use it on my glass dining room table, streak free in seconds - wipe the table with a wet cloth the use this to suck the moisture up. Just to same with my granite work tops and splash back. I also use it to remove the water from my shower cubicle (tiles and glass doors).Everything is streak free and clean. Also mirrors can be cleaned if you are reasonably careful not to knock the off the wall. Obviously you can get all your surfaces streak free by applying elbow grease, but life is too short to spend 30 minutes doing my granite worktops when I can how do them in literally 3 minutes. One minute for the glass dining table etc.The ONLY issue I have is that the reservoir for water is pretty small, but that is a very minor issue. I've had it a month and it's great.

Hey people . We all love our window vacs right?! Yes, until they stop working..... Read on if you want it fixed if less than 2 years old from Amazon. As per many of the 1 star reviews coming in I can now see we were not alone in having a machine that would not start up/ charge / green light on but nothing else. We purchased 1 in November 2018, it worked great at demisting the windows in the shower room on the really cold days / all the condensation - also great for cleaning windows outside. But then about 2 months ago it stopped working... I noticed in B&Q that all Karcher have a 2 year guarantee, so I called KARCHER SUPPORT on 01295 752 200 and they confirmed that it doesn't matter where you buy it from, they guarantee it for 2 years. 5 minutes on the phone, sent them the PDF of the Amazon invoice and they will be coming to the house and swap it direct next week - no charge..! :) So do this and be streak free again and happy with Karcher. They obviously have some issues with batteries and waterproofness but hopefully will be addressed. Nb. No streaks for us as some people said, if you do have bad streaks then I would send it back as ours didn't.

I passed on purchasing the first generation of this device due to some poor reviews, its shortcomings were just too many to make it a serious consideration.I am pleased to say these drawbacks have been addressed in this 2nd Generation Window Vacuum. As an experienced, long term home window cleaner (as designated by my wife) I can compare using the Karcher alongside the traditional kit. I would say my time spent cleaning windows has now been (approximately) halved. Its early days but the suction it applies appears to be perfect and so far (and after quite a bit of use) I have not yet had to re-charge it. One tip I would advise for washing windows (whether by this or the traditional method)is always apply a very soapy (non watery) cleaning technique to windows, a squeegee always works better with suds rather than water with a hint of soap in it!If I am being very critical, I would say it doesnt quite get into the small spaces as easily as a normal squeegee (clearly due to its shape and size) and having to find yet another home for a charger is a necessary pain but apart from that, I would fully recommend this 2nd Gen Karcher!

I had the previous model and was quite happy with it cleaning but with one problem - it (and I assume all other window vacs) finds it hard to clean properly near to the window seals - I tried various techniques but none worked perfectly - the best method I found was just to run down the pane with slightly overlapping runs (obviously after spraying the window) but try not to run over the seals which would lead to a gap forming near the seal and thus leaving a bit of cleaning fluid behind. Also this version of the machine developed a fault (I believe the motor's bearing either corroded or were damaged) which meant that the device was quite noisy. This new model is smaller in size (more stable when standing it up)lasts longer and is much quieter.I hope this one has better bearings or protection of the bearings - long term test needed on this. One downer is that the old model's attachments are not physically compatible with the new one which is a shame as I had the smaller head which cannot be used with the new one. (I rarely used it anyway so I won't be buying the new version's small head).

We tried a new cleaner last week, who spent ages in the kitchen trying to get a streak free finish on a glass table, applying more and more products, and it still looked terrible. Imagine the look on her face when I took a wet kitchen towel, with a drop of washing up liquid, wiped the table, and then vacuumed it up for a perfect finish, in all of 1 minute flat!I use the window vac occasionally for the windows and mirrors around the house, but I use it most in the kitchen on our worktops and table (almost daily). The corian worktops and glass table show water spots and streaks easily, but you can get a very good finish using the technique I mentioned in the first paragraph.I've also used it to easily clean up water from an overrunning tap, that would have otherwise taken a lot of messing around with cloths.the only downsides are that the on/off button is a bit annoying (doesn't engage/disengage unless you press firmly on the right part of the switch), and I'm on my second window vac after the first stopped working after just 2 months use.

We have had bad condensation on our windows this winter as it would seem our flat is very well insulated! Which is in most parts a good thing, but the condensation was becoming a very big problem. The only way to clear it completely was to have the windows wide open, which obviously is not possible in the winter!!This has made that all god away; i find that if i use it in the morning, the condensation doesn't come back half as bad later in the day. We have one large window and two regular sized windows and it is so quick and easy to remove the condensation everyday; i don't know how we managed without the Karcher! My only gripe is that the water jug is not that big,so i have to empty it a couple of times before I am finished. Sometimes, if i forget to empty it half way through it will over fill and spill out (which is my fault, as it does have a 'Max' line). I would just prefer it to have a larger jug. But then maybe they sell one that I am just unaware of! Haha. Overall this is a great little piece of kit!!

Living in these modern small 2 bedroom houses often means sacrifices have been made, in our case it's having a bathroom in the middle of the house with no window and small horrible extractor which does next to nothing. So after every shower or bath, the tiles are dripping wet and the mirror is covered in condensation.Using the Karcher is fantastic. We can quickly remove all the moisture from the tiles and mirror so it doesn't linger around. Despite it being on 2 different surfaces, it does a great job. I was shocked to see how fast it filled up, i didn't realize so much moisture was being left around. We also tried it on our bedroom window which suffers from condensation as despite it being a new(ish)window, the vents are poor and in winter condensation is a problem. Again though the vacuum does a good job or removing the moisture build up.All in all this is a great gadget, the charge lasts around 30 minutes before it needs to be charged again.

Firstly, I only use the vacuum for drying my shower cabinet, windows, I prefer doing these by hand. So, when my WV50 finally failed, after many years use, I searched for a suitable replacement. After reading countless reviews of models from different manufacturers I finally decided on the WV2. When it arrived today, I topped up the charge, had a shower and dried the cabinet. Result, excellent product, does exactly what I want, cabinet and tiles dry. I always use E-Cloth Shower Pack Cleaning Cloths to finish drying the tiles and these were virtually dry when I finished. Why E-Cloths - mould on the grout, mould loves dampness, so remove this and you stop mould growth. Well, does anyone like black or stained grout or silicone? Not me, so drying the cabinet then finishing with E-Cloths prevents this, it only adds a couple of minutes to shower time but leaves your cabinet pristine, definitely worth the effort.
