This is a great little chopper, that is perfect for making a quick mixed/tossed salad, or for making coleslaw or for chopping fruit quickly for smoothie mixes. The chopper has 2 very sharp blades and three control plastic blades that help flip and mix the fruit or veg in the tub. The chopper has a good sized tub that can easily hold enough to make a good sized individual portion salad, or a couple of side salads. The bowl itself is designed so that you can store the food in the fridge once it is prepped. The chopper handle is a slot in handle that has a lock down mechanism for storage, but then when unlocked the handle becomes a pump action chopper, that spins and rotates the removable blades as rapidly as you can pump it really. The blades spin in a horizontal direction, so only chops one way, so you may want to shake it up a little as you chop, other wise you just end up with it slicing rather than chopping. I wish there was an angled down blade, so that it would chop on the vertical as well as slice, it wouldn't have been difficult to do this and would have made this slightly more efficient for chopping and dicing. As is, I don't feel it is a great dicer, as much as it is a slicer. It comes with a whisk attachment, which is good for mixing in dressing or for whisking cream and eggs, or for making it more pureed for baby food prep.It comes with a basic leaflet, showing the parts included and then has several recipe ideas that you can make with the cutter, which includes smoothie mixes and coleslaw.

This is a straightforward, well-made, everyday little hand choppy-blender. It’s super easy to use, and quite easy to clean. It’s based on a very simple mechanism, so there’s very little that could go wrong. It’s a little sturdier than the pull-string version that I was previously using. This sort of thing is great for dips and for baby food, but I’m still a bit disappointed at how small the pieces need to be in order for it to work. Admittedly raw carrot is hard to chop and without using any electrical power my expectations shouldn’t be too high, but still, I wish it wasn’t necessary to chop the veg into such small pieces in advance of using this chopper- it does feel like it defeats the point slightly. The capacity is a little bigger than I’ve used before, but since the instructions say to only ever fill it to halfway and not more, it’s definitely dip-sized, not adult family sized. The instruction book comes with a few recipes, and one batch of those gave about 12 tablespoons’ worth of result- just about enough for one bit of side veg on a family meal.Even though it needs a bit of brute strength if you’re using raw root vegetables, it’s still very easy and safe to use. I just wish that, once set-up time and cleaning time is taken into account, it was a bit more of a timesaver than it actually is.

This is not one of those kitchen gadgets that seem a good idea at the time, but end up forgotten in the back of a cupboard. It is small and lightweight, easy to use, and quickly cleaned, so you will find yourself using it more than you would have thought. The two cutting blades are super-sharp - positioned underneath a plastic wing so it’s impossible to cut yourself when they are in use – and slice through carrots, onions etc. with ease. The blending attachment is equally good - sauces and whipped cream take seconds to make. The size of the chopped fruit and vegetables/thickness of cream depends on how many times you depress the plunger.I really like this product.I have a similar chopper to this that cuts by pulling a cord. It is also made in Germany, has identical red trim, a slightly smaller bowl and two plastic fins on the blade column. I find it easier to use with tougher vegetables, but that’s because I’m short, and can get more leverage on a cord handle. However, it doesn’t have the excellent blending attachment that this one has. This is a well-designed quality chopper/blender that saves time, gives good results, and you'll be surprised at just how many times you use it.

This multi-bladed chopper from Leifheit works a treat and is surprisingly easy to clean (the usual reason to avoid such gadgets over a simple knife and chopping board). It makes extremely fast work of fine-chopping and if you have a lot of onions to prepare for a big curry or similar it will save you a lot of time (good if you like freezing chopped onions for later use too!). We've thrown all sorts of fruits and veg into it and it handles them well with no sign of blunting or getting stuck. It does require some strength to get it going and obviously you need to take care of what you are doing but as it is uses no electrical power it's suitable for all sorts of food preparation environments andserves as a useful storage container once you've blitzed the content (there's a flip top to seal the hole at the top). The reason I can't give it a full 5* is that I have another product like this from Zyliss which is more compact, uses a clever pull-line mechanism and currently costs a lot less for similar results (slightly smaller product)

Very clever - and very well designed and manufactured -- processor. Ingeniusly designed so that the main handle comes off, thus allowing the storage container below to be sealed (there's a handy slidable plug) and placed in the fridge, there's a lot to like about this model. Made from strong, smooth white plastic, with a red rubber base (to stop slippage), the model comes with two different blade attachments. And to work, all you do is push down on the handle. Shredding fruit and/or vegetables is easy enough - and the blades, which are plastic coated to avoid accidents, are easily interchanged. Once used (and its easy to wash and clean, by the way, unlike a lot of more expensive, electric models),the removable handle can also be compacted and locked, thus saving space in the cupboard. Yes, arguably, you could spend more and get an electric processor, but, honestly, this is a very well made - and highly productive -- hand processor, and being able to use the main drum as a storage container means you can use it everyday.

So far we're very happy with this chopper. Previously, we had a similar one from, I think it was called Pampered Chef, but that one was poor after a short time. Thus one seems like it'll last a fair bit longer so long as you don't try and chop items that are ultra hard. If you do you may distort the cutting device since its made from plastic and thin metal.Open the box and it's much larger than you'd expect. A good size for a good size portion of salad with the added bonus that the container detaches from the beating handle. The container has a seal that can be placed over the hole left where the beater attachment attaches. You will need to ensure the lid is firmly in place if you intend leaving the salad inside and taking the bowl say fof lunch.Additionally, chopper comes with a mixerror attachment allowing mayo or other sauces to be mixed. This worked well.Overall I like the product and it's not such a bad price for the quality of manufacture.

I was somewhat sceptical as to how good this would be before I used it, as I wondered how something that is non-powered and relies on manual operation would be at chopping or cutting something as hard as vegetables generally are, but I'm pleased to have been proved wrong. The unit is quite simply operated -- insert vegetables or fruit into the main body of the unit, put the lid on (with the relevant blade inside), and then pump the handle on top of the unit up and down to operate the blade. There's an on/off switch that, when turned to the off position, means that the blade will not work.So far we've found this really useful. With harder vegetables such as carrots you do have to cut them up to a reasonably small size before placing them in the unit,so there's not much saving of time there, but for all but the hardest vegetables (and fruits), this works really well. It's also easy to clean, which is a bonus! Four stars.

This works surprisingly well. It is better made and a lot more sturdy then some I have seen and used even if it does seem similar to the type of stuff that used to be advertised by "Ronco"This is quite easy to use and easy to clean. I did think that it would be smaller. The other reviews and photos give a good indication of how to use it.I haven't used it on anything too extreme but it has done all the chopping that I required of it and it did save some time and effort.I did get the impression that the product that I had been sent had been in the warehouse for a considerable period of time but despite this there have been no problems.I will rate it at five stars. That might be a little generous but I have used so many kitchen gimmicks that didn't really work that I am just relieved to try one that does.

On opening this my first thought was that it isn't especially well made. After trying it out, though, I thought my first impressions were a bit too critical. It did the job very well. I wasn't going to try anything too hard but it chopped an apple pretty easily so I think it's going to be a very useful item. I lost a creamer when a blender that had one broke so I'm delighted to have that in this set. It didn't take much effort to push the handle down, and my hands have been operated on so aren't the best they could be. I think being able to close over the hole in the bowl is useful as it can store the food in it too. I'm happy with the item.I've only kept one star back as I'm not sure how long it will last.

I really like this. I love the simplicity in the design and that you can use it anywhere in the kitchen without regard for the nearest electic socket. The cutting edges are very sharp indeed and very good at chopping through the majority of fruit/salad items you'd use this for. Essentially all you do is put the fruit in the bowl, unlock the handle and push away and very quickly you have chopped fruit. You can also whisk with the attachments provided and we made some mayonaisse using this to blend the ingredients together. Cleaning is as easy as taking it apart and putting it in the dishwasher or just rinsing through with soap and water. A no nonsense and functional manual chopper.

I have always liked the quality of Leifheit products and this little gadget holds up this good reputation. Well made in sturdy plastic, you get the feeling that this will last for years. Chopping action works very well and the blades are sensibly designed to keep the foodstuff down on the blades. I hate chopping onions, so this is going to get a lot of use and will be great for making soups in the winter. What I find particularly good is the larger size of the base as most other choppers seem to be quite small. Very easy to wash up, which is also a bonus, and the plunger locks down for ease of storage. Great chopper!

I’ve a couple of Leifheit, very well made products, only issue I have is how to store them all. This is one that you push to slice Fruit and Vegetable and you are able to Cut Chop and SliceBuild is very good, every thing is easy to swap when wanting to change blade or to the paddle. You do have a paddle that allows you to whip cream or stir, both work well, however did take sometime to whip the cream thick.Non slip, which worked well. I do like this, how much I will use it will depend I guess on what I’m doing and if I think its quicker to get this out than just use a knife, its dishwasher safe, which helps.

I spend hours manually fine dicing the trilogy of onions, carrots and celery even though I have sharp knives. The top-of range food processor I have, regardless of how fresh they are, pulverizes and extracts too much juice. All I wanted was a clean, small cut. £18 later and after too many hours research on the net, I found this. Whilst it not the same as hand-diced vegetables, it is saving me considerable time. For £18 I do not expect it to go on forever and wont be able to sharpen the blades.... but it's a small compromise for lack of time and perfectionism. Made in Germany and is very easy to clean.

I like that you can use it within seconds of taking it out of the kitchen cupboard. I chopped fresh fennel, carrots and other hard veggies with it with no trouble at all.I do NOT like the fact that the plastic cover for the very sharp knives seems to have altered its shape slightly in the dishwasher so that (basically after very first use and dishwasher cleaning) I simply cannot slide it over the snake-like knife any longer. Is my dishwasher so much hotter than others????? Still usable though, so I'm glad about that. But frankly, I expected a tad more from Leifheit.

Had several versions of this in the past.simpleto operate put fruit or veg( partly chopped ) in the centre and using the pump motion of the centre pice it chops with the blades. Chops well and cut through carrot, peppers, cabbage etc well and evenly .Quick to use and helps prevent mess. I have arthritis in my wrists so really appreciated it helped me cut up vegetables pain free .definately recommended if you do have weaker or arthritic hands .Overall very good price, smaller storage and does dice well .
