I bought this particular, hand duster. I had read an article, giving proffessional advice, on the best type of duster to use. I already know that microfibre, is rated very highly. I also know that this make, has good reviews. It's not my first, microfibre hand held duster. I had another make before. They have come a long way, in the quality and effectiveness, of microfibre dusters. They work in a similar way, to the old feather duster. Trapping dust, almost magnetically. This one has a good grip. Hence the name. It is about 18" (46cm) long from each end. The handle is 7.5" you can work that one out. 4.5" width of duster. It is quite flat. Has a popper on the end of the duster. That clips on or off the stem. The fabric is very soft. Almost similar, to one of those, multi fibre mops. You just slide the duster off. To wash or change. I have tested it on a few surfaces. It can catch on rough ones. It cleaned between the slats, of my portable radiator, very well. Under the t.v., mirrors, tops of doors etc. Window ledges. I am 5' 3" and l can reach, low ceiling lights with it. My problem is, that l have three parrots. I have developed a cough. That's not good! I have to be extra vigilant, with the animal dander. A soft cloth, is not enough. Even after cleaning the surfaces daily. I used this today. There was a fine layer, of parrot dander. Over everything. I never use chemical sprays, polish etc. Only damp cloths. I prefer steam cleaners. However, l don't want to wet, all my surfaces daily. I cannot use chemicals, with the birds, anyway. In the bathroom and kitchen. I use a professional, none toxic cleaner. White vinegar is good. Added to a fine mist spray. Or onto a damp cloth. I personally, would not put this duster, into a washing machine. I just gave it a good shaking outside. When it needs a wash, l would rinse under running water. Dry it naturally. No detergent. It's dust! Not grease. My last one lasted 20yrs. This one is a lot softer. I like the cheerful colour. Microfibre can be a bit harsh. I would not use them on delicate objects. Like ornamental treasures. Then l would use, a very soft cloth. You know, those dusters. Or a computer magnetic mop. A few fibres came off, whilst unwrapping. That was due, to it having some sticky binding tape. Around the handle. I highly recommend, this duster. If after more use. l need to add a foot note . I will...I ordered from Prime last night. It arrived today. A worth while purchase. You can also get replacement dusters.

I bought this extension duster at the same time as buying the standard one and some refills. I mostly use the shorter one, but I use the long one for walls and ceilings (darn cobwebs!).I am still using the brand-name disposable duster’s and sweeping cloths, but now I just use them for really icky messes that are inconvenient to get out of the reusable microfiber shag duster covers just by running them through the wash once.At some point I will have enough of the refills to simply stop using the disposable ones altogether. I wouldn’t care so much about using disposable duster cloths if I could be certain that they biodegrade quickly. Unfortunately, I can clearly see nylon filaments running through all the effective disposables, hence the shift to reusable ones that can go through the wash with the rest of my laundry. The extra nice thing is that the non-extendable and the extendable reusable duster’s use the same exact refill pads so I don’t have to buy different sizes. They do shed a bit of the red shag in the wash the first couple times. I also recommend getting a coarse weave open mesh wash bag for laundering any reusable cleaning tools - they will last tons longer. And I frequently use oxygen (percarbonate) bleach, which typically causes anything red in laundry to bleed all over and dye everything else pink. I have not had that issue with these dusting pads at all, so probably it seems likely that the red is not a die it’s actually the color of the synthetic microfiber filaments they use to make these. All it all, there is definitely a significant upfront outlay to switch to these reusable dusters, But they trap tons more dust before I have to change them out, and I really think this will be far less expensive for me than to keep buying brand name disposable Sw*****r refills in the long run.A solid value, to me they’re all worth every cent.

How have I lived so long dusting my entire house without this wonderful invention? Especially in light of the fact that I have owned, used and loved the extended model ever since it hit the market. I no longer mind dusting in the least! This, dusting, a chore I would avoid until...well it's best not to say because it's so terribly embarrassing. But now? I dust twice a week! When I'm on the phone, listening to music, or an audio book, or my hair is drying - it's quick and easy and it doesn't seem like the chore it once was!Laundry: I wash these with a load of towels or the dogs bedding. Place them in a lingerie bag. HANG TO DRY (it says it right on the packaging!).I note this only because there are reviews which state after machine drying the micro fiber covers shrank. I can honestly say I've never had this happen, ever, throughout the years. But then, I do not put them in the dryer. EVER.Loose Strings 'n things: I've only had one cover have little scraggly strings of fibers come loose after a wash. Rather than yank on them (which is sure to start unravelling a bunch of trouble), I simply cut the loose bit close to the base of the cover. Voila! Problem solved.Red covers vs. White covers: as I said, I've been using the extendable model since these hit the market and to my knowledge Oxo hasn't ever sold the extendable or handheld duster with a white cover. There is another brand, however, sold here on Amazon that manufactures similar dusters with white covers that, I believe cannot be purchased separately.Would I recommend this duster? Heck yeah! I love it. Can't get through my week without it.Seriously.

How much can you really write about a duster???Well this one is pretty different than your standard dusters that is for sure.My first impression was, 'oh its that small'. I think a lot of others have found themselves in the same situation as well. I guess it is easier to hold due to the small size, however it will be quite difficult to reach most places above your head height. The handle is really well made so that is a plus point. It has a small gap at the top as well so that it is easy to hand and store away. Now the really cool part. There is a small button where the handle and the duster strands join. This button allows you to disconnect the handle from the actual duster so that it can be easily cleaned and washed. Now the main question is...does it work??Well it does clean really well. The microfiber threads do seem to make a difference. You can actually see the dust sticking on to the duster so that is a good sign. Again it is small so don't expect to do the house dusting with it. It is more for just small delicate items around the house. It will definitely attract some attention being orange and cute. So it is nice to hang up and doesn't make you feel like you need to hide it. All in all it is a nice duster. Is it worth the price? I am still a little 50/50 on that. If it was a larger one then I would have said yes.Nevertheless, I would recommend it. If you found this review helpful, please click below :)Thank you for reading and good luck on your purchase! This was NOT received free or discounted. Paid full price!

This duster has been a good purchase so far. Coming from an "old school" household, I've watched my parents dust by using a damp cloth on every surface in the house. Naturally, I followed suit when I got my own place. But I'm so glad I switched to this. For starters, it works dry so you're not leaving a trail of moisture everywhere you go. I also like that it's made of microfiber so I can confidently use it on surfaces like my TV screen. With the wand, it's easy to reach up and clean the tops of the fan blades on the ceiling fan. And dust just sticks to it. You won't find dust just being pushed around. Instead, it'll get caught in the microfiber. But perhaps my favorite thing about this duster is the fact that you can remove the microfiber from the wand just by unsnapping a button and you can then throw the microfiber portion into the washing machine with the laundry. This is also, however, what led me to deduct a star. After the microfiber has dried, the fibers just don't feel as soft as they did new. The duster is still just as effective, which is great. Just not as soft. But that's a small nuisance compared to how easy this makes dusting.Pros:Catches dust between the fibersSoft and safe to use on all surfaces (like TV screens)Easy to reach high places with the wandMachine washableCons:Not as soft after washingAll in all, I'll probably keep buying this when I need a new one. For the price, it works. And works well.

Good value. Useful item.I use it on my flatscreen. Normal microfiber cloths can scratch your electronics. Don't rub your electronics if there is a dust, you're better off using a duster (whether it be an old-fashioned feather duster or a newer microfiber duster). Take care of your electronics. This will not remove any built up "specks" or residue builds up and seems to sometimes get on screens due to humidifier dust, air quality, or whatever else is going on in your environment. You should use this duster as a maintenance "touch up", and still plan on using the electronics cleaning liquid that are designed as such. Don't use isopropyl alcohol, even if it's heavily diluted. Most of my electronics manuals (video game consoles, Samsung and LG TVs, etc.) caution against this. Use a cleaning liquid with the special microfiber that looks like the little eyeglass cleaning cloths (they come in bigger sizes, too). Don't use the microfiber cloths that look like shop towels/ auto cleaning cloths to clean your electronic displays. And if you're cleaning TV screens: read your manual for tips. They will tell you things like "make sure your display is turned off and is not warm to the touch" and so forth. Make sure to follow the advice so you don't damage your display.

This is a must-have, awesome duster! I saw it used on my favorite YouTuber's channel, Shelly's Home Life, and she raved about it, so I ordered it. I have been a microfiber fan for years, but only have used the washable cloths until now. This is my first dusting wand-type product. Right out of the box, it is fluffy and soft and crying out to be used, so I ran around and dusted high corners (I'm 6 feet tall, so this gave me that extra reach). The microfibers are amazing dust grabbers. I was so impressed with how much it grabbed off of the chains to my light fixtures! I love the long flat surface...perfect for running over the top of the refrigerator. I thought my house was well-dusted before I used this for the first time, but it found so much dust I didn't realize was there. I was able to run it over the walls, baseboards, corners and high surfaces with very little bending or stretching. It instantly became my favorite cleaning too, and I'm headed back over to buy a couple refills so that I am never without a fresh cloth to use. It washed perfectly (I ran it through a normal wash cycle with the rest of my microfiber towels) and I laid it out to dry. It was just as fluffy and soft after washing as it was right out of the package. I'm in love. Git you one!!

I love the OXO Good Grips Microfiber Hand Duster. It's so easy and so light. It does not push debris around like homemade dust rags or those disposable brands do. It grabs dust and debris and HOLDS ON. Now because it holds on, you can't shake the dust off like you might with other dusting tools. When the duster gets overly dirty, snap it off and throw it in the washer or give it a quick hand-washing in the sink. Because it's microfiber, It dries in no time. I recommend purchasing at least one refill to have on hand while your original duster dries.Yes, the duster will shed a little. I haven't found this to be a drawback. There's still plenty of surface area, even after washing, to do the job.It does a better job on mirrors and glass than any other dusting tools I've used. It's great on electronics; including keyboards, screens, and remotes. Handy for quickly removing dust bunnies from the floor or cobwebs from the ceiling too.Because the OXO Good Grips Microfiber Hand Duster is so lightweight, it's good for those with arthritis or fibromyalgia, However, the snap which attaches the microfiber duster to the handle is difficult to grasp and requires strength to unsnap / snap. I hope OXO redesigns the snap.

I live in a 1 bedroom apartment by myself and have been neglecting cleaning as much as I should, but I decided enough was enough and I needed to give my place a good cleansing. One of the main issues with prolonging the time between cleans is dust build up, especially on tables, walls and ceiling fans, especially since it becomes a gunky mess if you use a spray or water to clean. I was desperate for a quick solution and very happy I found this duster! The microfiber works great and I was able to go through my entire apartment and remove pretty much all the dust! I would periodically bring it over to my garbage can and pull off excess dust right into the garbage and keep going! That was super convenient!Note that this does not have an extender at all so it's just your arm length plus this which is a couple of feet long, but that was good enough for me in my apartment as it doesn't have high ceilings. This worked great on baseboards as well, which was some of the most dust filled areas in my apartment! Pro tip while you're waiting for this to deliver, use drier sheets on your baseboards and the dust comes off like magic! Would def recommend and would buy again if needed!

This is a really handy duster. Unlike a feather duster which just pushes the dust around, this picks up all the dust on the first pass and holds on to it. It is a very generously sized head and easily picks up all the dust it comes across with no problem at all.It just passed the ultimate test - my own, very dust covered chest of drawers. My wife gave up on it a long time ago as it is too high and not hers to begin with (hint, hint). I am sad to admit that it had not been dusted in months, because what the hell, I'm a guy! So this was my very first target and this duster just ate it up.I kept ducting the rest of the house to give it a thorough run through and it never failed to get all the dust. After I was done I unclicked the head, rinsed it really well in the sink and let it dry - no problems there either.I am reluctant to throw it in the washer because I am worried that it could knot up and with a good rinse in the sink I don't think it really needs it.In the end, I would replace this if I ever lost it but I doubt that will happen and this is made well enough to last a very long time even with continued use.

Let me start by stating that dusting is the bane of my existence in the realm of chores. With that said, I have searched high and low for the magic solution to dusting; there is none. This Oxo Microfiber, however, comes pretty close. It is easy to fit into nooks and crannies (like bookshelves, for example), and really clings onto the dust it collects very well. I did notice that a few fibers fell out of the top when I took it out of the box, but not many. I dusted the entire downstairs and upstairs, and only one single string came off the entire time. I attribute that to the fact that I tried to dust my candle clippers (do not recommend, haha). I was very impressed by how well it performed, considering, as you might have guessed considering the first sentence, how much dust had collected on some items. I will admit that I haven't tried to wash it in the machine, but the instructions do say to use a delicate cycle setting. Also, I tried unsnapping the duster from the handle, and was able to do so quite easily. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who is as lazy as I am when it comes to dusting. Cheers!

At first use the duster began to loose some fibers from the top of it for no particular reason that I could see, so initially I had little red stuff all over. However, now that I have used it for about a week (cleaning business) and have washed it, I think it will hold up well. It got really dirty and seemed to pick up more dust that I expected. Now I always do a microfiber dust on furniture, but this duster is great for fronts of furniture, light fixtures, blinds, cobwebs around ceilings, in and around bookcases, anywhere where hand dusting is just not practical. The only thing I wish is that the handle was a bit longer, maybe by about 3 " as it's shorter than the electrostatic duster I was using before.I like the flat wide surface (not too wide) and then you turn it to make it narrow to fit into tight places. Really overall, I love it, and will order a refill, so while one is drying from being washed, I have a back up (it held up great, I did hand wash it but think it would wash well in the washing machine if you put it into a lingerie bag.)Also once washed, it's back to it's fluffy self.

As a chronic housework avoider, I keep looking for products that will be effective when I do get round to cleaning. Most fail, leaving lint or other bits attached to wooden items - I admit some are a bit rough and in need of sandpaper or wax -, plastic items or indeed, many other things were a small snag causes grief. This item, delivered less than an hour ago, has now turned the sitting room from "thick with dust - Miss Havisham would be proud" (and so would Quentin Crisp) to "clean and dust-free" (mostly). There are some spots it won't reach without steps and I haven't got round to that yet. But shelves, books, ornaments, computer and keyboard, printer, tv and hi-fi are looking much, much smarter.I had to keep giving the duster a good shake out of the window every so often due to the thick dust it was encountering (I'm really not exaggerating that) and that seemed to be pretty easy and effective, as, indeed, was the performance to date (ie one hour). It's getting top marks from me so far. If I encounter any of the problems a few others have mentioned, then I'll update this review.

Out of ALL the dusters I have purchased, I love this one and use it consistently. Yesterday, I was looking at my white blinds.....They are 6' wide and about 5' tall. I have these same blinds on 5 windows in my home. I don't dust them often and they didn't look dusty until you run your finger on them and see what comes off. So, I dusted them yesterday with this duster. I closed them first and then I decided to open them and do it that way instead which I think works better because you can get the entire slat if it is open and work from top to bottom in case any dust falls. This took me all of 15 minutes to do the whole window and that includes the 5 or 6 times I walked outside to shake this off after each area was cleaned. It really does grab onto the dust and hold it well. Then I did my bedroom with the same great results. I think it was about a year since I did the blinds last, but with this duster, it is sooooo much easier!! I always use this duster for my nick-nacks. You only have to hold it from above and "dab" your items without removing them as it goes around them easily

I have been enjoying using the OXO Good Grips Duster as it makes getting to those harder to reach areas very easy. I'm quite short and there are many times when dust piles up on hard to reach areas such as light shades or on top of the fridge. The duster extends to 54 cms which is quite long and would allow someone even smaller than I to reach cobwebs even on the highest ceilings. The end of the duster is very flexible it can be rotated around but you can also bend it into a few different angles depending on what it is you would like to dust. The microfiber cloth on the end picks up dust very easily which is excellent because if you are dusting something quite delicate you want have to go over it again and again. The cloth comes off easily and I can throw it in the machine, it comes out good as new.Another trick that I have learned is that I can slightly dampen the cloth if I need to clean something particularly stubborn from a higher place and it helps clean it off no bother. All in all it does what it is supposed to do and folds up small which makes it great to store.
