Lego continue to update and expand their range of vehicles from the Classic Trilogy with Wedge's Red-3 X-Wing starfighter.Updating the original 1999 release, this kit is identical to Luke's X-Wing that came in the kit #4503 in 2004. The scale of the ship has been corrected and the colouring now resembles to ship you see on the screen.The X-Wing features and opening cockpit, droid compartment, opening cargo bay underneath, retractable landing gear and a mechanism on the back that allows you to deploy the S-foils into attack position with the turn of a gear.There are even alternate parts for you to adjust the markings on the wings from Wedge's Red-3 to Luke's Red-5.The best thing about this kit is that you get 6 minifigures with it.

My 7 year old son is in love with all things Star Wars and all things Lego, so this seemed to be the perfect fit. It's been a little more challenging than we anticipated and has required more adult supervision than any of the other projects that he has worked on. But so far he has thoroughly enjoyed the process and loves the little Lego characters. As teachers, his dad and I are big fans of any Lego product which encourage critical thinking and problem solving. Legos aren't cheap toys, but they are definitely worth the investment.

Firstly, this is sold on LEGO.com for $60, so save yourself the $13 and buy from there (I did not). Regardless of that, this was still a great purchase. The way the wings operate and "extend" out all at the same time with the turn of a wheel system is just plain awesome. Some LEGOs tend to fall apart pretty easily, but with this it is quite sturdy and well put together. I recommend this to anyone that loves both Star Wars and LEGOs.

My grandson is a Lego fanatic. Correct that, a StarWars Lego fanatic. He puts these things together faster than you can open the box. He loved this one. Especially since you can make the wings move up and down and the finished product is so realistic. This came ontime, even though it said it may take longer, and was a great gift.

Pros: R2D2, Luke, Leia, Han Solo, Chewbacca and Generic X-Wing pilot. The x-wing opening mechanism is well designed.Cons: Very fragile wing construction. The lego bricks come apart very easily especially on the wings. I would recommend (horror!) PVA gluing some of the weaker parts if your child plans to use this as a toy.

Purchased for my 7 year old son, who loves Star Wars and LEGOs. This is going to be his main Christmas gift. The actual X-Wing will be nice, but I'm sure he will get bored after a while. Thus the brilliance of LEGOs...he then will spend hours designing something new with the parts.

I got this kit as a present for my husband. He had a great time putting this together and it is now displayed. The directions were clear and concise and the kit went together fast. The little lego characters add a wonderful touch to the model.

Buy one! If you like legos and you like star wars, you can't go wrong with this thing. The way it is put together is simply genius. If I had unlimited legos and was instructed to build an X-wing, I don't think I could have done better.

i got this years ago as a Christmas gift and i still have it! great and fun build for any Star Wars fan. good for hours upon hours of imaginative fun. best part are the movable wings

Star Wars is SciFi at its best. Not only creativity for thinking about outer space but also an adventure in problem-solving a hands-on experience is this toy. Have fun.

I love this hard to find product. Was expensive but worth it due the characters included. Is hard to find a lego set containing most of the main characters in one box.

All of the parts fit together nicely and I like it more than the newer model that came out after this one. The detail of the back end is better.

It's Lego's and Star Wars together so kids, and adults, love it. Fun to put together and not hard to do with the directions that are included.

My son loves this toy!! It arrived on time for his birthday and in new condition - just as advertised!! I couldn't be happier!
